About me:Sawaddee Krab, how we say in Thailand for “Hello” My name is Mickey. I graduated 2011 from Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi; my major was in tourism. My experience as tour guide started when I was studying at high school. I joined the junior guide training at my hometown. I also was a tour leader and travel-mate when I studied at university with exchange Students from many countries. I traveled with them through Thailand as my close friends. I love to be tour guide, because I’m always happy when I see my tourists smile, enjoy and enjoy traveling with me. I’d like to tell you about the history, culture, food and way of life in Thailand and of course have fun in the same time. Now I'm working at Trutravels. Here is my new family. I love all the team of Trutravels. If you would like to get new experiences about the land of smile, please tell me your interests and we can talk about it. This was my first trip with Tru Travels and first ever group tour in general and I had the best time! You can tell he really loves his job and is somehow always happy! I loved the combination of doing the north and south of Thailand, there was always a good balance of having lots of activities to do and things to see as well being able to wind down and relax. I’ll never forget my time in Thailand and all the amazing people I got to meet! Would 100% book another tour with Tru Travels.

He will be a lifelong friend. ARTHUR : Such a sweetheart! He was so fun and so kind. He was hilarious and did a great job at making us feel welcome when the two groups were combined. He was so fun and I love him! King Arthur! POP : So cute! Quiet but so fun and such a nice guy. He was a great trainee and I really enjoyed getting to know him. This was my first time travelling without parents and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Every day was an absolute blast and it was a great way to see this beautiful country in a short amount of time. Seriously I owe TruTravels, Mickey, Arthur and Pop SO MUCH for giving me the best 2 weeks of my entire life. We had such a great time, met so many amazing people and learned/saw so much. I'm SO sad to be leaving the tour but know that I'll be back and will keep in touch. So for now... "What da hell!" This tour was absolutely amazing and all the activities were so fun. The tour managers were very unprofessional. They were doing drugs on the trip and I had to bet them to help me when I lost my debit card and injured my foot. What an experience I only wish it was longer. It was my first time in SE Asia, I was going to just solo it, but my friend wanted to go with a guide, I was unsure it would be worth it but it totally was. Mickey is an absolute legend he arranged extra activities and made sure we got the best prices from local taxis etc. He was constantly doing first aid for us when ever we injured ourselves or did other stupid drunken antics. Always made sure everyone was happy comfortable and encouraged to join in. Constantly on point with good information and cracking jokes. I chose to stay in a different hotel than the hostel (purely cos I wanted some extra luxury) for a few nights and even when it meant I turned up over an hour late to quad biking he had waited back to make sure I didn't miss out. Nothing was to much he always went above the expected. This goes for the same with all the tru travel reps we crossed over with 2 other groups and did a few activities joint, Justin Art, Pom, Darrin ....... all really friendly and helpful.
The experiences where amazing, I did so many new things it was packed could of done with more time at kao sok and bottle beach, and just being picky would of been nice to have the option of 1st class upgrade on the over night train but only minor things I'd of changed. For the price it was well worth it.
I could write so much more but you'd get bored of reading it, go and see/ do it for yourself.

My favorite activities: there’s too many to pin it on one, from partying in Bangkok to snorkeling with sharks, swimming in so many beautiful beaches and lagoons and for making so many friends on this adventure, I really think it’s impossible to have one favorite memory on this trip.
We were lucky to have such a brilliant leader as Mickey helped accommodate us and honestly had ours and everyone else on the tour back. The trip wouldn’t have been the same without him.

Floating bungalows, Railey & viewpoints were my favorite place. I had so many memories of the group, such as the taxi ride to fullmoon party. Mickey & Darrin will be one of first things to mind remembering this trip!! They were superb.

My favorite activities are the nights out in Bangkok!! The jungle party and PhiPhi Ihad such a laugh I wish I could re-live it all over again.
Mickey is an amazing tour guide!! So polite, friendly and caring. It was sad to see Darring leave half way he was do missed! Overall amazing people. I feel lucky to have met them.

The moon party itself was great! Partying on the beach with fire performers, neon paint and great music! I loved dancing in the moonlight.
The tour guides were friendly and supportive. I injured myself a few times but was well looked after. I thought the accommodation could have been a little nicer and well-located.

I was originally looking for tours of South East Asia and was intending to book South East Asia On A Shoestring with G Adventures. However, my friend then recommended this tour to me instead as she lo…I was originally looking for tours of South East Asia and was intending to book South East Asia On A Shoestring with G Adventures. However, my friend then recommended this tour to me instead as she loved it. I checked it out it’s so much better value for money. In this tour all your accommodation, transport (bar the odd taxi for nights out) and activities are all included. You never have to worry about missing out on something because you’ve run out of money (Thailand is so cheap anyway) and it’s great because the group gets to stay together. It’s why Tru becomes a big family.
We had a lovely group of 11 of us for the northern tour and 5 for the beaches. We went 25 February-18 March 2018. The weather was fab - only a couple tropical storms the whole time.
Our tour guides were the amazing Delaney, Mickey and Gogi. They were fantastic, great fun, always helping out when we had any questions or needed a little tlc (I recommend stocking up on Dramamine, carbon tablets and electrolytes whilst your stomach adjusts to Thai food and the overnight trains). They were always exactly what we needed. They feel more like friends than tour guides. I’ll miss them when I go home tomorrow.
The tour itself was an amazing mix of stunning temples, waterfalls, zip lining and beaches to name a few. It’s a great way to explore Thailand to get into the culture and adventure. My only regret is that I missed out on some of the activities as my tummy is too sensitive for Asia - need to eat more curries back home! Most people were fine the majority of the time though so don’t worry.
Definitely bring a backpack for this tour and don’t bring too many clothes as they’re crazy cheap and cute out here. Also the massages are superb - 300 baht/£6-7 for an hour oil massage.
Definitely check this tour out. And if you fancy making it a little wilder you can always add on the full moon package in Koh Phangan.
In terms of getting home you can get a ferry to Koh Samui for 200 baht (50mins) and then get a domestic flight back to Bangkok and then home. Hope this helps anyone thinking of booking with Tru!

The hill tribe trek and elephant sanctuary were phenomenal experiences, and the day spent zip lining really exceeded my expectations. The accommodations were nice and the provided meals were delicious. In all, I would 10/10 recommend this trip to anybody interested in Thailand! Definitely worth it, and you'll meet awesome people!

Mickey the crazy Thai guides fabulous personality made everyone laugh constantly with his random outbursts and dance moves.
Both were more than willing to offer help and guidance where possible and made every effort to cater to everyone's needs.
Truly had the best experience of my life and thanks to some chats with Lawrie about his travelling experiences, not only will I be returning to Thailand I will be travelling on to Australia before the end of the year aswell!

The accomadation was good at some places however as a couple it was difficult when required to share accomadation not just for ourselves but for others too. This tour was lively with a lot of drinking and partying which was a little too much for me (im old) but we were not forced or made to feel bad about it. Sammy checked on everyone and was happy to help wherever. I will deffo being doing more tours with trutravels :-)

They were knowledgeable and professional, but definitely knew how to have a good time and made sure we did as well. Anytime anyone had a question or needed help with something they went out of their way to make sure we were taken care of (e.g., helping me buy a new phone when mine broke, being nurses to those of us who become ill). The tour was welll organized and I can most definitely say I will be going on another trip with trutravels one day.

We were lucky to have 3 tour guides over the 2 weeks with Mickey teaching Pepsi and PK. With 3 of them it just made everything even more fun. The energy they have is beyond anything I’ve seen in ANYONE... where do they get it from? They made everything exciting and fun and when it came to the activities they ALWAYS joined in.
The tour itself was really great for my first visit to Thailand and we got to cram quite a lot of stuff into such a short space of time. My personal favorite part of the trip (besides the elephant sanctuary obviously) was the day we visited the River Kwai because not only did we take a speedboat along the river but we also got to party on the night and we really got to know each other with kareoke and drinks. As this was early on the tour it was a great ice breaker.
Mickey really knew the best places to eat or drink on a night too. He always asked us what we preferred on chat and would pick a place that suits all. Usually it was a cheap place too which helped as the food was still great.
In general I had a really fun time for my first time visiting Thailand and I’d recommend to new comers to do this tour first and if you fancy continuing traveling Thailand then you can carry on this tour very easily or join a new one down south.

Ron was always around and made an effort with the whole group, it was a pleasure to have him as our tour guide! Mickey was also brilliant and such a character, again a pleasure to have him as our tour guide! Ron had to leave our tour for another so barbie joined us for our last week; she was a little spiritual ray of sunshine and an excellent help.
The only negative was spending 8 days in Koh Phangan at Echo Beach, it was far too long and you had to pay for taxis almost everywhere unless your trip out was included and specified in your tour. Echo beach was lovely and the staff were pleasant but 3-4 days there is plenty!
Overall a fantastic trip and we will be returning to Thailand in the future

Mickey was an incredible tour leader, his enthusiasm is infectious, he is caring and knowledgable and was always working hard to improve our trip. Ron was always relaxed, helped us bond and brought us together. He went the extra mile when a group member went to hospital and it meant a lot to all of us. Barbie opened us up to a real traveller attitude, her passion was inspiring and she helped maintain an amazing vibe in our group.
The activities are great, but I would've liked some more exposure to Thai culture and food. There were also times when we were given wrong information about when we were leaving where, and I would've preferred more time in Phi phi and Railay, and less time in Phanang as we were there a long time.
Overall though, this trip has been amazing and I'm so glad I chose it.

We did so much in a short space of time, while also being given the time to relax and do nothing when needed. Travel was made easy and we didn't have to worry about anything.
Mickey was always 100mph in a good way, enthusiastic, helpful and knowledgable. Ron was always relaxed, easy going, and really helped bring us together as a group, easing everyone's travelling needs. He went the extra mile for a group member when she had to stay in hospital which meant a lot to all of us. Barbie was always fun, introduced us to Thailand from the true perspective of an open minded traveller and her enthusiasm was infectious.
The only criticism I would have is that we were sometimes given incorrect information about when we were leaving where and when. I would prefer less time in Phanang, to add another day in railay and Phi Phi.

The Cambodian tour which was my personal favourite is well balanced between the utopian island of Koh Rong and the endearing journey that country has experienced with the tour of S21 and the killing fields. I’m a relatively reserved person by nature and I was worried I wouldn’t get along with the travellers but a fair play to the Mickey for his effortless kindness and wonderfully flamboyant personality. He is always willing to listen and help, not to mention being incredibly funny. Allie was also amazing especially in Cambodia where she led the tour by herself and made an effort to make everyday as great as possible giving options all the time of what we could do to make sure everyone had a good time. I ended up sharing the same room as her on one or two occasions and she is really kind and considerate and a lot funnier than she knows. I had a wonderful time and I couldn’t recommend it enough which is no small feat from a seasoned misanthropist.

(Oh and gam she wasn't a guide but she's an absolute credit to the company!) our guides were the most fun and caring group of people who made this tour so amazing! Although this is sold as one tour the trip is split into two parts, the first part experiencing the exciting culture and visiting beautiful places in the north of Thailand. Personal highlights for us were the elephant sanctuary, zip lining, visiting the backpacking town of Pai, beautiful temples and fantastic viewpoints. Transportation was always comfortable, with aircon where possible, making us feel like no expense had been spared for our comfort. Our group during this part of the tour were like-minded people, interested in experiencing thai culture, making the tour very enjoyable. Our guides were Euan and Mickey, they were fantastic! They always kept us informed on what we were doing each day, where we were going, what times, and what we would need to bring with us. Both guides were passionate about giving us the best experience in northern Thailand and that truly showed. They were both very friendly, easy to talk to guys who answered any questions happily and made each member of the group, of every nationality feel welcome and included always. We'd like to thank both guides, and we would highly recommend the northern tour to anyone looking to learn and explore thai culture!
For the second part of our tour, we travelled to the south of Thailand to visit the beaches and relax in the sunshine. Meeting our new guides, Oneway and Mark, they were both very friendly and excited to take the new group to the south for the next part (or start of most people's) trip. Transport was not as comfortable as on the northern tour, namely the overnight train. We felt a little put out to have previously travelled twice in a comfortable carridge with aircon, to then have to spend the night in a carridge without. There were fans in this carridge but if you wanted to close the curtain for privacy or to block out the light to sleep, they were rendered useless. This did feel like a more authentic way to travel but felt very dissonant from the first part of our tour. As the train was very loud and uncomfortable, we didn't feel very well rested when we arrived at Khao Sok national park. However, this was still a spectacular place and by far the highlight of the beaches tour. Mark and Oneway explained how the park was formed and we enjoyed swimming in the reservoir. The beaches in the south were lovely, the boat trip was fantastic and the acomodation wasn't bad. The feel of the islands and the south in general was different to the north in that it felt less traditional and more for tourists. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, but there is much more of a partying emphasis on this part of the tour which isn't for everyone.
Overall we very much enjoyed our northern Thailand and beaches tour with trutravels, we're glad that we got to experience the whole of the country, the cultural north and the sunny south, the whole trip was a good price with decent accommodation and some meals included. I'm a vegetarian and this was never a problem on any point of the tour, all of our guides were very acomodating of that. The included excursions are also great and we felt that without the tour we wouldn't have been able to visit so many different places in 21 days. Thanks trutravels!

He's not only super helpful, but also just the sweetest human being and always there for anybody! Can't praise him enough! While I understand that he had family issues, he still should have concentrated a bit more on the job.. Nevertheless, the tour was absolutely lovely and I would definitely go again!

It keeps amazing me how they manage to attract just the right people to work for them as a tourguide. Even though Jonjo was only with us for 5 days, he stole all our harts by taking such good care of us and being a real funny guy at the same time. Thanks for showing us the best places in Thailand JJ. Allie.. where do I begin.. made me laugh the whole trip so sociable no matter what the time! And was by my side on nights out leading the way great tour guide.. would love to do another tour with her. Also I had Amanda she was great for keeping the conversation flowing and very funny and last but not least mickey! Made me smile the whole time absolute hilarious and very organised.

Such a good combination of some culture and activities and ending the tour with some gorgeous relaxing beach days. All the temples were beautiful and interesting. The cooking class was brill, just don't eat beforehand! The elephant experience was incredible and a once in a lifetime and the national park was stunning. Everything was included in the tour that was mentioned and the tour guides were superb. All were very helpful, fun and friendly. They knew lots to tell you about Thailand and would help you to organise your onwards journey - which is more helpful than you realise when you get to that point. Such an amazing three weeks that shows you so much of Thailand and I would definitely suggest to others and would use TruTravels again. Just remember Thai time.

Amanda, Allie and Mickey are fantastic tour guides who brought their energy and enthusiasm to the tour. They were also extremely organised and made sure you had all the relevant information for the next day. You never had to ask questions because they had already given you the answers. The tour started in Bangkok and I really enjoyed the visits to the temples and especially the boat tour on the river. On the two nights on Khao San road we had a blast with Mickey who is a real party animal while always watching out for and taking care of everyone. The visit to the Nationalpark Khao Suk was another highlight of the tour and I loved the peacefulness and natural beauty of the place. The same goes for Bottle Beach on Kho Phangan which is probably the loveliest place I have ever been to. The most luxurious hotel of the whole trip was the next stop called Little Pardise. I really liked the location directly at the beach close to the Drop in bar which was the place where we also went for the full moon party.
During the whole trip and also afterwards Mickey was the best guide that I/we could have hoped for: he is very passionate about his job and spreads good vibes. At the same time he is very thoughtful and is always taking care of everyone, never leaving anyone behind. Because he is thai himself his knowledge of the language and culture is super helpful, not only when haggling prices with tuktuk drivers but also when giving cultural insight into thai customs.
All in all I would highly recommend the Thailand Experience tour with trutravels, especially with Mickey as guide. I will definitely come back to Thailand and I plan on booking another tour witH trutravels and him :)

The tour itself was great we went to some great places and the accommodation was far past my expectations, especially on bottle beach (my favourite part).
