About me:Hey! I'm from Rhode Island, the smallest state in the USA! I have lived in Vegas and Australia; and traveled quite a bit in the past few years. I only visited 27 countries though, so I still have a pretty long list of places I need to experience! From Europe, Australia, NZ, and the Caribbean, Thailand is by far my favorite country. However, all parts of Asia are pretty friggin' awesome! I'm a tour junkie! I've been on nearly 10 tours with different companies, and had the pleasure of sitting back, relaxing and enjoying not worrying about a thing! Now for the first time, I AM the tour guide, and can not express what a dream job this is! Getting to meet same minded people, and share indescribable lifelong memories week after week... what can be better than that?! First of all this tour is amazing, it was the best 3 weeks of my life and it couldn't have been better. The tour guides certainly made this experience, I'm 35, I manage a service and I'm quite critical with high standards and these guys blew me away! I just want to thank Tru Travels for employing such amazing staff, they really made this trip excel my expectations. There were so many suggestions of activities to do and all of the staff were happy to help us organise anything. I really can't praise you guys enough and thank you for making this experience so amazing.
Sarayuth aka Ali, was the most adorable human I have ever encountered, he picked me up at the airport and I instantly knew I was in safe hands. it was his first tour with tru travels but he has lots of experience and it showed. He had such genuine care for everyone on the tour and is just an all round lovely guy. He shared all his Thai knowledge with us about the Temples and the culture and taught us lots of Thai words and ways of life. On top of this he was so much fun! Ali, I miss you xxx
Itchy- well this guy just absolutely loves life and fun and just wants everyone to have a great time! We had Itchy for the first 10 days and again what a lovely guy! He was so much fun and always checking in on everyone and making sure we all had a good time.
Tamara- So much love for this girl! She's an absolute gem. She took music everywhere we went and it really lifted our spirits on those early morning travels. She's so much fun, so happy, and just a genuinely lovely gal :) I miss you Tamara :(
Amanda joined us for the last 10 days when our group of 12 became 30 0dd people and her organisation skills were so impressive. I honestly can't believe how easy she made it look organising all those people, it was effortless! As with all the tru crew, her genuine desire for us all to have the best time came through everyday. constantly checking were ok, giving us options of other things to do if we had spare time or didn't wanna do one of the set activities. Not only this, Amanda really made a massive effort to make sure we all had amazing pictures to remember the trip, I look back at these now and am really grateful for all those times she made us have group pictures- thanks babe!
Papsi- another lovely guy, so happy and smiley and another great member of the tru crew.
I'll be booking the Philippines next year, i'm not sure I'll ever get better than this Thai tour but I'll definitely be booking with Tru travels in the future.

Our tour guide, Amanda, was so down to earth and as soon as I arrived, she picked me up from the airport and was so welcoming to me. She was fun and professional all at the same time. Our other guide, Papsi, was nothing but fabulous !! He was absolutely hilarious and so loveable. We had Alex for the start of our tour too, who also gave us such a fun and enjoyable experience, he was always going out of his way to make us all as happy as possible. Thanks so much guys :)

Itchy - Was always very informative and organised and knew exactly what he was doing, ensured the trip went smoothly and made it more enjoyable with his humour and character!
Napompon- Was always very informative and gave us a lot of information about life for Thai people and about the history of the country, got along with everyone and was always very helpful and polite
Ali (Sarayuth) - Always provides ample information about Thailand and the temples etc. His positivity and care about the trip ensured that we had an amazing time and whenever we had any problems he jumped to help them straight away!
Tamara - Her energy and charisma always put a smile on everyone’s face and got everyone ready for the day we had ahead of us, kept everyone entertained and was always attentive extremely helpful and enjoyable to have around.
We then joined on to a second group, and we lost Itchy and Napompon but gained two more guides in Papsi and Amanda
Papsi- Was very entertaining and always made sure every single person was enjoying there time and getting the most out of their experience
Amanda - Was always extremely attentive and organised and kept everybody in the know and did a great job of keeping the trip ticking over aswell as suggesting extra activities that we may want to do to further enrich our tour experience
Overall I would recommend trutravels to anyone looking to go on a tour about south east Asia, and I am sure this was an experience I will never forget and it is all thanks to the tour leaders at trutravels.

What an amazing 18 day adventure. We saw so much and met a lot of people. It’s definitely geared more for partiers and I’m not much of a partier. But I still had an amazing time. There’s no way I could have done everything and saw everything I did without being on this tour. All of the guides are very caring and nice. Fun too! I got really sick at the end of the tour. Amanda and Ali took care of me. I’m so grateful to be on the tour with all of them. Tamara helped me plan my trip up north for a good deal. They made sure my ongoing travel was taken care of and I understood what to do. All in all. Great times and a great tour!

Our local guide Bo is a legend, with his stories and humour, he was my roommate throughout the tour and I couldn't of asked for anyone better, whatever we needed he helped instantly, he knew great restaurants to go to , and being a local he added some extra cool stuff to the itenary which was spot on, being his first trutravels tour no doubt he smashed it and he will continue to do so.
A special shout out to Amanda who was an incredible star, this tour was her holiday, but being another trutravels tour rep, she was professional and made sure we had the best time and put our trip ahead of her when she didn't have to so, and I will always have enough love for her for putting us first.
This tour was my third tour with the company in three months, and tru made it a hat trick, had the best time, met the best people and I will always be thankful to then for opening my eyes and realising there's more to life then 9/5 job.

The guides were just like super knowledgeable friends!!! On the trip I went on transportation went smoothly and it helped loads the fact the guides would tell us what to expect and what to take so we were always prepared which made moving around so smooth. Even the 16 hour train journey was fun! Accommodation surprised me the most with how lovely it was especially it Koh Sok and Phi Phi. I was doing the 18 day trip and went alone but never once felt alone on the whole trip!! Would so recommend

As I joined this tour after already completing another 30 day tour, I was expecting a similar experiance, but Amanda was one of the main reasons this tour made the p…The tour exceeded my expectations! As I joined this tour after already completing another 30 day tour, I was expecting a similar experiance, but Amanda was one of the main reasons this tour made the perfect end to my trip in Asia! She was so friendly and because a friend rather than just a leader. She made such an effort to make sure everyone got to do what they wanted, helped us make other travel bookings when needed and made each experiance memorable. She got fully involved in all the activities we did and started off all the games, which made everything 10x more fun. It was really lovely to get to stay and enjoy different places to see different parts of the island. I will definitely be considering another tour, hopefully it will be as incredible as this one.

Kuntapol joined us for the final 10 days of the trip on his tour guide training and made the trip even better than it already was, full of energy, smiles and probably one of the most entertaining individuals I have ever met - Good luck Kuntapol you will make a fantastic tour guide!

Amanda was amazing from start to finish, from picking me up from the airport when I landed in Bangkok for the first time ever to helping me plan the last leg of my trip when I left the group and did my own thing. Her organisation was fantastic which made the whole tour run smoothly. I could relax and enjoy myself the whole tour as I never had to worry about planning anything or where I needed to be or at what time as I knew Amanda would always be there to tell me! Massive thanks to Art as well who was also very helpful particularly with regard to his local knowledge of the areas and culturals dos and don'ts. More importantly they both just made the whole tour very enjoyable! If I ever do another tour then it will definitely be with TruTravels because of my great experience on this tour with them! Daryl

Transport: When looking for a holiday I wanted someone to point me which way to walk, what taxi to get into, what boat to get and have to think as little about organising anything and to be able to relax. This trip had just that, we got off boats and trains and our taxis were waiting, amazing! Couldn't have been any better.
Group: we were so lucky to have a group that bonded so well, it contributed to the holiday ten fold.
Guide: All these things would not have been possible without our guides. Not just any guides but the best of the best. Helpful, respectful, knowledgeable, genuine, entertaining, caring and catering to everyone's needs made the trip! Amanda, Art, Gun, Ben - I have no doubt all the effort yous have put into the made it one I will never forget and I want to thank you all!

I have not stopped raving about this tour to anyone who has asked, and have definitely got the bug to do another tour! Manda was extremely organised but allowed flexibility for a number of activities and the order they could be done in - offering both inclusive activities as well as recommending other activities that can be done in the area. She was always positive and up for a laugh but you felt like you could talk to her if you needed too and I found her a lot more helpful then my previous tour leader. We had an awesome thai guide (Art) who was always happy to answer any questions and helped with organisation! The trip covered amazing scenery, a look into local culture and a good night out. The accommodation was really nice and there was good food choices, (not just toasties at 7/11) and plenty of strong cocktails. Thanks Amanda and Art for such an amazing trip! xx

Our tour guides Ben, Allie, Amanda and Gun made everything so fun and easy! Ben was so friendly and always willing to help if we needed anything at all! She was so lovely and I was so happy we had her as part of her tour - I miss her already and we only left her a few days ago! All the tour guides were really great!!
I would highly recommend this tour to any young traveller - solo or in a small group! I was a solo traveller and it was a perfect tour to go on! A great size group and so easy to make new friends!

This was made even easier by our tour guide Amanda who gave us suggestions of other things she'd think we would like to do and arrange them for us!! Amanda was our tour guide throughout the whole trip and I honestly couldn't of picked a better leader, she was kind, organised, helpful and so funny, she treated us all like friends and never like it was just her job. Our first Thai guide was art, who really helped us understand more about the culture and was also great fun to be around. Rhis also helped out with the tour and we grew really close to her, she really helped make our trip what it was even though she didn't need too!! All the accommodation was better than expected, as most of the time we stayed in hotels, even the dorms for full moon were ok and it was a nice experience to have as it made the group bond even more. In the last 10 days of the tour we merged with another tour group. We gained a new Thai tour guide Ben, who was so lovely, she really made us feel part of the new group, as well as always going above and beyond to make us have the best experience we could. Amanda did such a good job of making the two groups merge and within days it was like we had been with them from the start. I really think a tour guide can make a huge impact of how much you make of the tour and Amanda really helped make the as amazing as it was, as well as offering us advice and guidance for the rest of our time travelling. Overall I think this tour is a MUST.

Amazing tour! Allie, ben and Amanda were incredible. They started as my guides now they are my friends. Allie was so much fun and seriously supportive when needed too. More like a friend that organises things and knows what they are doing. Amanda also had this approach and was always up for doing lots of fun things and helped us out a great deal with our onward trip. Kuntapol was our second thai guide on his first tour and all I can say is that he will be an amazing tour guide, so funny and really helpful. Special thanks to ben and kuntapol who helped me get my bank card back from a naughty ATM! The tour itself is fast paced and jam packed full of really great activities and additional options that ensure you really get to experience Thailand and miss nothing.

Amanda was excellent; organised but flexible, always up for doing things, even things not included in the tour, super fun and could take banter aswell. The whole trip was a rollercoaster of amazing scenary, cultural experiences and some big nights, all made easy by Amanda. We stayed an extra 2 days and decided to stick with the 23 day tour and she helped out with everything. Lots of love for her, Art, and everyone on the tour, amazing experience. We had a bit of a mix up getting from the airport unfortunately but from then on every moment of the trip was pure amazing! Amanda and Art made sure that every experience and opportunity in Thailand was open to us while we were there and were so eager for everyone in the group to love Thailand as much as they do!
Amanda's enthusiasm and bubbly personality really helped the group click and we can all safely say we're home with friends for life now! Art's extensive knowledge on Thailand was greatly appreciated, especially when a translator was needed in pharmacy!

It was my first time travelling so far and all three of my leaders were great. …I'm just back from the Thailand Full Moon tour that was held by Amanda, Art and Rhis. It was such an amazing experience. It was my first time travelling so far and all three of my leaders were great. Although, there was one small mishap at the airport when we had arrived in Bangkok. It was a really stressful situation that could have easily been avoided but eventually we were able to sort it out and find our own way to the group. From day one Amanda, Rhis and Art were fully approachable and they were well able to advice us all on our own issues and they were able to answer all our questions on Thailand itself. Art was the most knowledgeable on Thailand and he was there to answer all of our questions. He clicked with the group really well and he was great fun to be around.
Rhis was another cool leader who was super nice and cool to hang out with. I felt that we all got really close to her throughout the tour and what happened to her at full moon was not dealt with properly at all by the people higher up with Trutravels. She worked very hard and didn't deserve to be treated like that.
Amanda was amazing. She was so organised and generally cared about the people in her group. She made sure that we were all enjoying ourselves and she was interested in actually getting to know every one of us as a friend rather then as a leader. There was no devision amongst the group and all the leaders were well included when it came to participating in activities and on nights out. The accommodation and the transportation were good throughout the tour. Although we had the opportunity to meet a lot of the trutravel leaders, I don't think any of them will be as good as Amanda! It's clear she really loves her job and I hope that I have to opportunity to see her again at some stage in my future travels!

I am Italian so sometimes I was in difficulty with the language but Amanda was so gentle and determined to make me feel comfortable even if I had this little problem, so I noticed that many times she tried to speak next to me so that I could understand better what she was saying and she was so patient in explaining again some things that I didn't understand well. She was so gentle and she has been not only a tour guide but also a friend, the life of the party, the leader, she's full of energy and ideas, and I felt safe all the time under her guide. She's very efficient and clear in explaining things, she's also so funny and I really like her way of doing while she talks, that is that she dance and snaps her fingers while she thinks to what she has to say after... She has also Italian origins so I like her even more, but also without this I'd like her way of being a lot because she's very friendly but also diligent when we are up to organize serious stuff...I would advise her as a guide to anyone who ask me!

Our tour guides Amanda, Alanna and Minnie were brilliant for the whole tour. Amanda was attentive, fun loving and enthusiastic for the full 18 days. She would answer any questions that we had and her superb organisational skills ensured that the whole tour ran smoothly. Her passion for travelling was clear throughout the whole trip and it is obvious that she absolutely loves Thailand. She was caring and a genuinely lovely person. Like Amanda, Alanna was also fun loving and enthusiastic. She was always there to ensure that you had the best time whilst on tour and I honestly believe that her future tour groups will be very lucky to have her as their tour guide. We were very lucky to also have Minnie join us for the final 10 days and her energy was infectious. She really made sure that everyone enjoyed themselves regardless of the activity! She also helped out when we needed advice and educated everyone on Thai culture.
I can honestly say that on this tour I experienced some wonderful things, met some incredible people and made memories that will last a lifetime. I firmly believe that the tour was as good as it was due to Amanda, Alanna and Minnie. Thank you to you all for a wonderful tour, I want to do it all over again!

The tour was so well planned. There was time to really enjoy each place we were; but we also moved at a fast enough pace that I really got to see quite a bit for only being there for 8 days.
Our tour was led by Alanna and Amanda. They took such good care of us! They were each so helpful to me, even as I left the group to make my way back home - and more than that, became my friends. I couldn't have asked for a better combination of fun, enthusiasm, and professionalism.
Thailand itself is an amazing place that I now hope everyone can visit.

Both Amanda and Alanna have gone above and beyond on this tour to make everyone have the best time and bring them right out of their shells!! I can't thank Amanda and Alanna enough for being as accommodating as you have been, when I had one problem (no fault of theirs) they listened and discussed the best options and within a matter of moments my problem had been resolved, something neither had to do!! I truly believe Amanda and Alanna are now my friends as that's how they made me feel throughout the 18 days but also the way they've expressed not to hesitate contact if I need help on my future travels!! Due to complications getting through immigration at the airport Tom and I missed our lift to the hotel, we contacted Amanda and both Alanna and Amanda came to pick us up straight away. They were both so friendly and approachable and we instantly felt like we could relax and everything was taken care of. During the car journey to the hotel Alanna informed us that she was new to Tru Travels which we would have never guessed. She knew what she was doing, we would have never known she was new to the company. Alanna was professional and confident and we felt like we were in safe hands. Alanna left the tour after 8 days and we gained Minnie later on into the tour. Alanna, Amanda and Minnie were always up for fun, full of life and so approachable. All three tour guides were very professional, helpful and friendly. Amanda made an extra effort to get to know us all individually which was appreciated as it added more of a personal touch.

Thanks too this tour I have experience parts of Thailand I would of never experienced on my own. Alanna is such an amazing person with a wicked personality. Alanna has not only been my tour guide but she has become a very good friend too me. This girl has truly been my rock. She has been there for me at the moments I need advice or when I felt travel sick on the night train. Alanna choose to spend her own time talking to me and really distracting me from feeling unwell. Alanna truly has a heart off gold. Amanda and Alanna have been the best dance partner and these girls have some moves. Alanna and Amanda have been my personal photographers which I am extremely grateful for as they have captured some amazing pictures. Alanna has been with me on the tour for only the first 8 days and on her time off she came to Koh Tao with us. I was extremely excited and happy about this. Amanda has really help me find a way to still train my Muay Thai whilst on tour and to me that made these trip even better. It was a great experience, and an adventure that I would recommend to everybody. Our tour guide Amanda was amazing, she has the mix of leader and friend down to a tee. Amanda and Bee (our Thai guide) were so enthusiastic and organised. In the best possible way, the tour almost felt like a school trip. I would wake up in the morning, jump in a minibus and head off to one of the many activities. The level of organisation, meant that I could fully relax, and know that everything was taken care off by Amanda and Bee.
My favorite experience was Khao Sok national park (the floating bungalows). At one point, I took a minute and had a look around, I thought to myself 'this is the best view I've had in 23 years'.
I will defiantly travel with Tru Travels again!

They made the tour feel modern yet still authentic, with a perfect mix of tourist activities and more off-the-beaten-track locations. The activities were varied and structured, yet flexible and accounted for everyone’s personal preference. I found myself in places I know I would never find on my own had I not booked with the tour, a particular favourite of mine being Khao Sok national park! These tours have not only checked off places in the world I’ve always wanted to go but they have broadened my mind to all the places I am yet to go, many of which I’m sure will be with TruTravels!
But it must be said that the tour would not have been the same if it weren’t for my spectacular tour guides Amanda and Bee! I felt incredibly lucky to have them as they really put us at the heart of the tour and exceeded all of my expectations. Although Bee wasn’t with us for the full trip, when she was with us she was so friendly, organised, supportive, and gave a real insight into the culture we were surrounded by. Amanda was our tour guide throughout and it is safe to say she was superb. She was responsible and reliable, as well as being the life and soul of the party, and always going the extra mile for everyone on the tour; not to mention being an epic photographer. She was there for me before the tour even began, and she ensured everyone had help with their post-tour travels. She was thoughtful, friendly and was not just a tour leader, but a friend. I got the best roommate I could have asked for - shoutout to Sam - and I made friends for life!
The tour over all was amazing. The days were packed with fun activities along with some required chill time and you were free to do whatever you wanted whenever.
The highlight for me was definitely sleeping in floating bungalows at Khao Sok and the Full moon pre-party at Echo. But I had a blast basically everyday!
Our group got so tight instantly and even though we were 30 it still felt like we were a big happy family. Everyone got along with everyone (well most of the time) and I would like to give our tour guides credit for that. Amanda and Bee made our trip incredible! They had everything under control at all times and I was so amazed by their work. Amanda for example knew all of our names and faces even before we arrived and her memory was outstanding. I have always wanted to work as a tour guide but after being on Amanda's tour I simply can't imagine being as good as her. If you are lucky enough to end up on one of her tours, you couldn't be safer - trust me! I just love her to bits <3
So basically if you are looking for a great time with amazing people then this is the tour for you. You won't regret it!

I feel very blessed to have been on Amanda's tour because I gained a friend through her and we always knew how to have a good time. I really liked Tru Travels as well because everything about the trip was super organized and well thought out. We always had a schedule which I love but it was stuff we actually wanted to do and weren't forced to do any of it. I feel like I got to see the best features about each place we went to and didn't feel like I was missing out on anything because the trip was so thought out. Transportation was always right there when we needed it and they always knew which way would be the best and most fun way of getting to and from places. Nothing's too much trouble, even spending half a day taking me to hospital. I think Amanda and Bee go out of their way to make sure everyone has the best time ever which is what makes this tour such value for money. They take you to places that aren't on the usual backpacker route so I'd say this tour is worth doing even if you're planning on backpacking solo... I couldn't believe how much was included and how well organised it all was, I'll definitely go on another TruTravels tour, amazing job Amanda and Bee!

I honestly can say this adventure was incredible, and that was mainly down to my two tour guides Amanda and Bee. The itinary is great, there is enough exploring and adventure, alongside enough 'chill out' time. I saw incredible views, stayed in great accommodation, and overall I experienced things I would never have if I'd done it alone. The support, guidance and most of all laughter from both Amanda and Bee was amazing, they go over and above to make sure you are having the time of your life. I celebrated my 25th Birthday whilst there, and they made sure I had a fantastic day and night, from getting me shots, right through to singing me happy birthday with a card and cake. I cannot recommend trutravels enough!! Plus you would be especially lucky if you have the tour guides I did!! Thank you so much; an experience I will never forget, and stories I won't stop telling! Can't wait to return.

The 14 day tour: This trip had a great mixture of adventure, culture and nightlife. Although a bit tired by the end of it, the fully packed first 2 weeks were an awesome experience. The elephants, ziplining and the Chaing Mai temple were my biggest highlights.
Accommodation: Although none of the hostels were 5*, they were all relatively clean and had ok wifi. Even the hill tribe accommodation was good for what we needed, added to the experience of being in the jungle.
Transportation: There was a lot of days spent just travelling which should maybe be made clearer in the itinerary, although it didn't take away from the trip as we had 2 weeks. However all of the transport we took was in good condition and most had good air conditioning.
Leaders: Amanda and Ben, were both brilliant leaders. They worked very well as a team and you could tell that they were friends which helped to bring everyone together. Amanda was great at getting a lot of photographs which gave us awesome memories and she always made sure we knew what the full plan for the next day was. Ben was great fun, always smiling and always making sure all of our activities and transportation were ready to go so that the trip was virtually seamless. Ben also did a great job of introducing us to Thai culture, which I fell in love with a bit. Together they made a good team, making the whole trip better for it.
The 8 day tour: The 8 day tour had a much more relaxed vibe during the day and better party atmosphere in the evening. Highlights being the day at Koah Sok national park and the night at Bottle beach.
Accommodation: Some of the places we stayed on this trip were just unbelievable, Koah Sok national park and bottle beach in particular were beautiful. The accommodation it's self is ok but the locations were perfect.
Transportation: This tour had almost 3 full days of travelling to each location which really took away from the trip over all as it felt like a much shorter trip for it, again this should be clearer in my opinion. The night train was also not a great experience as there was no air conditioning and bugs in the beds. I know that almost everyone on my trip would have been happy to pay at least £15 extra to be in the carriage (next to us) with air conditioning.
Leaders: Allie and Bee. Allie was great fun, she knew how to bring everyone together to get to know each other in such a short period of time, she's also got great music taste. Bee was extremely friendly and the one who made sure everything and everyone was organised. Bee also was lovely enough to get out of bed early hours in the morning to help a guy on our tour out of a sticky situation in Bangkok. Between them they were great leader team.
Overall: The 21 day Thailand experience is the perfect mixture of adventure, culture, relaxing and partying. The tour takes all of the worry out of travelling as everything is planned out for you, meaning no need to worry about what to do the next day or worrying about transportation. Being on a tour also meant I made life long friends as spending 14/8 and even 21 days with a group of people you get to know them extremely well and it makes the entire trip more enriching for it. I will remember this trip and the people on it for the rest of my life.

The cooking class was brill, just don't eat beforehand! The elephant experience was incredible and a once in a lifetime and the national park was stunning. Everything was included in the tour that was mentioned and the tour guides were superb. All were very helpful, fun and friendly. They knew lots to tell you about Thailand and would help you to organise your onwards journey - which is more helpful than you realise when you get to that point. Such an amazing three weeks that shows you so much of Thailand and I would definitely suggest to others and would use TruTravels again. Just remember Thai time.

Amanda, Allie and Mickey are fantastic tour guides who brought their energy and enthusiasm to the tour. They were also extremely organised and made sure you had all the relevant information for the next day. You never had to ask questions because they had already given you the answers. This ended up being one of the most memorable experiences of my life. I feel very fortunate to have been able to explore Thailand with the group and guides that I did. We had a perfect mix of people from all over the world and were able to do so much in such a short amount of time. Our guides, Amanda and Benmore, were absolute sweethearts as well! Never did it feel like they were just tour guides, but rather part of the group that knew their way around. I now consider both to be friends and would tour with them again in a heartbeat. Everything was planned very well, they made everyone feel extremely comfortable and answered any questions we had. We all created such a strong bond over 8 days that it was definitely heartbreaking to leave. I truly wish I could have stuck around for the full 18 day trip but this gives a reason to return, hopefully with Amanda and Ben for Northern Thailand!

They will cater to your preferences and give you options to fulfill your vacation needs. I'm taking out my time to write an extensive review about this travel agency, not just for their favor, but to inform as many people that are seeking a break from their hectic life or problems that YES this is exactly what you need and I promise you money comes and goes but this experience is soooo worth every penny. This was the first tour I have ever been on and I was completely unsure whether this would be something I would enjoy. Within hours of getting to Thailand and meeting Amanda and Ben I was absolutely sure we had done the right thing, they were so easy to talk to, informative, welcoming and friendly. Amanda and Ben were amazing throughout the tour; they had so much energy and managed to organise and bring all 23 of our group together to have some of the best times. Ben and Amanda were incredibly helpful, warm, and approachable and they were so much fun to be with. Both Amanda and Ben were so dedicated throughout to making sure we all had the best time and did everything we wanted to do. I felt that I managed to do and see so much within the 8 day tour and Ben and Amanda were brilliant in helping us to plan our onward travel as we were there for another week following the tour. Amanda and Ben were definitely more our friends then our tour leaders. I have made some of the best memories and had the most amazing two weeks of my life and Amanda and Ben are a massive factor in that. My week tour with them was stress free yet jam packed with activities and I would 100% go on tour again, especially with Amanda and Ben and I have recommended them and going on tour to family and friends!

But in all honesty once it was booked we both did not do much research on Thailand or the trip for that matter (rather naively). So when it came round to the trip we where both quite nervous and after travelling 20 hours tired and nervous we where greeted in Bangkok by our guide Amanda, with her calming energy all the nerves simply melted away and after 5 minutes talking to her we where both filled with excitement. From this point forward every step we took just simply got better and better! From there we left for our first hotel in Bangkok which was top class. There we met our 22 strong group a very diverse group of personalities from several different countries which was exciting in itself. The first night we went for a delicious meal where we broke the ice before hitting khao San road which was one of the best nights of my life ("best night/day of my life" is a strong theme of this trip as each day truly got better and better) and after that we had all bounded really well.
You might think that 8 days isn't long enough and if that's all you can do I can't stress enough that all though the 18 days would of been great the experiences I had on the 8 day tour I honestly don't think I would of done half of what I did if I where to do it without the tour to for a month! The tour was seamless, effortless in fact. There where no worries about anything our tour guides handled absolutely everything leaving us as a group to simply bond and enjoy the whole experience!
And in the end our group was nothing less than a family, friends made for life.
Onto our hosts, starting with Ben.
Ben was our Thai host a complete fountain of Thai knowledge, ANYTHING you could ask she knew. I'm Simply incredible! And just a mountain fun, every time we spoke she had me laughing.
Onto Amanda, for me one of the highlights of the trip. From the onset her incredible energy lifted the whole group. Her patience, compassion and attentiveness was simply incredible. She would break her back to make sure each and everyone of us was having the best time possible a true diamond of a person that is made for her posistion in true travels. Simply top class!
So to some up anyone thinking going on this tour with trutravels DON'T hesitate you will not be disappointed!
Last point (so cliche but so true) I am not the same person as I was leaving for this trip, an unforgettable experience and memory's made that I will treasure for the rest of my life!

So this was my first group tour and an interesting experience at that . I feel truely blessed that Amanda and Mia were my guides. Not being a big drinker I felt Amanda related to my needs and expectations from the trip and went the extra mile making sure even on down days that if the group wanted to do something she would help make it happen . She has a really nice vibe about her and in many ways it felt that she was actually a traveller in the group . The world needs more Amanda's in it . Mia was just as chilled and helpful and put the group at ease with her style . These two guides work well as a team and I just felt privileged to be in there group . I don't think I would have enjoyed the 10 days if I were with another guide .

The trip was really well organised, from general information and a welcome email a couple of weeks before we left to useful info and tips throughout the trip, so you were free to completely relax and enjoy the amazing experiences.
There were a range of ages and nationalities in our group and the relaxed and friendly attitude of our three guides, Amanda, Adam and Yo, made everyone feel comfortable and helped everyone get to know one another.
The tour itself was a great mix of popular tourist spots as well as lesser known destinations like Khao Sok which we would never have come across ourselves. Overall we were really impressed with Tru Travels and would definitely book another tour in future!

Amanda loved taking photographs of the group and capturing all of our memories, you may get a little sick of the camera flashing but you will be so grateful to have them to look back on the trip when you get home.

It was always ready when we arrived at the location. And then the accomodations, they where so nice! Always at good locations. So last but not least the tour guides! The first one, Adam. What a nice guy! He was really relaxed but always really clear about the plan. The second one, Amanda. She is so kind! Always up to do fun things or have a little chat. And then the last but not least, Sapayoo. The coolest Thai boy I ever met! He was so funny! I had fun with al the tour guides, the where always in for a good chat and having fun! The next time I travel with a travel organisation it will be Trutravels! That's for sure!

I had such an amazing time in this trip. Was a little worried that my friends and I would be the oldest in the group but it was actually a lovely mix of different ages and nationalities. So we had Adam and Amanda as our tour leaders plus Yo as our Thai guide, who were all brilliant at their jobs. It was a great mix as well, having Adam on his last Thailand tour working with Amanda on her first one. Adam knew all the ins and outs of the trip and was really helpful answering any questions we had but it was great to have Amanda who gave us so much useful information about some of the details of our trip that I really felt well-prepared wherever we went.
It was also lovely having Yo there to tell us so much about Thai culture and explaining details about praying at the temples, which was so interesting.
Overall it was a great group of people well held together by 3 friendly, capable and hilarious leaders which left me with some of the greatest memories ever!
I'd definitely recommend them and am already planning another tour next year with Tru Travels as a result, bring on Bali!

You would have never known this was only her second tour. I've been on a few tours before with other companies but have never had a better tour leader in my life. She was more than just a tour guide for me, she became a really good friend. Amanda is one of the most outgoing people I've ever met. She got along with everyone so easily and was just so genuine when she talked to each of us, interested in everyone's stories. Answered all questions knowledgeably and honestly. Was always very informative such as where the next western toilet would be or the next convenient store for snacks. The little things like that just make life so much easier sometimes when you're traveling in a foreign country. Amanda also was like a personal photographer for the entire trip for everyone. She took videos and photos of just about everything and shared them with us along the way so we could cherish the memories forever. Amanda really made this trip for me. If she wasn't my tour guide I honestly don't think I would have enjoyed the trip as much as I did.
Overall, the trip was great. It reflected the itinerary almost exactly and was a great value for the money you paid. So much was included and being a backpacker and used to very cheap hostels, the hotels we stayed in were all really nice! The only critique I have about the whole experience was the group size. There was about 20 of us for half the trip then it increased to 30. It's just a lot of people to travel with and takes more time out of enjoying the experience when you have to wait around for 29 other people. None the less, I enjoyed the trip so much and highly recommend TruTravels and Amanda to anyone looking to book a tour.

The accomodations used are overall all good and clean, and as advertised there are 2 nights in Hostels, one in a night train and 1 in a night ferry, which are good and fun experiences, but could possibly not be for everyone's taste.
