The itinerary was well thought out. Our guide Ali was very knowledgeable and clearly thought about how to make the group comfortable. If we wanted to do something that wasn't in the itinerary he would work it in and help us buy tickets. My friend and I hasn't purchased transportation back from Chiang Mai to Bangkok and he arranged that for us easily. There were tons of great things on this tour. The most physically challenging was the Jungle Trekking, but there were lots of breaks and Wit, the local guide, pointed out and helped with any difficult parts. I absolutely think any one on the fence should book this tour.

On the more uncomfortable journey such as the overnight boat Ali was always on hand to give travel sickness tablets & when I cut my foot Ali helped clean the wound & give me a plaster. Ali always was there to take me home on nights out & check that everyone in the group was alright & safe after a night out. Thank you for making this experience an amazing one Ali. Ali was an amazing tour guide, he was so much fun and very professional at the same time. I liked it that he was always caring and considerate of the whole group especially on our nights out. Plus we had one big group at one time and I take my hat off to him for remaining calm, collective, organised, punctual and professional at all times. Without a doubt he has been the best tour guide i have ever had. Never failing to put a smile on everyone's faces and always going out of his way to make sure we were happy. I would 100% recommend trutravels to friends. I would also book again if i had the chance to take part in another tour with Ali.

The itinerary really meant that you got a great experience of northern Thailand in such a way that you experience so much in such a short space of time! The only thing I would say is that it felt like we needed a chillout day to catch up and reflect on all the amazing things we had done. Ali was truly great. So enthusiastic and knowledgeable, he was friendly and chatty and genuinely felt like one of the group. He always had great suggestions for restaurants and bars in the evening which was the perfect way to get to know eachother.

Kao Sok national park and bottle beach had some beautiful accommodation on a lake/beach. There wasn't as many organised activities as the Northern tour but this was good as we needed some valuable chill time! The koh phangan boat trip was a highlight with free alcohol, lunch and good music preparing everyone for the half moon party later .
Ali and Sunny were the perfect duo to lead the tour providing a combined effort of excellent organisation, party time and good vibes

I liked how the hotels were within walking distance to the night market. Then we could easily come back whenever we wanted.
The waterpark was so much fun and it was great activity for the last day.

Our trip was filled with endless adventures so that you never left wondering what to do.

Our tour leaders have been absolutely amazing for our trip. The full moon party was on my birthday and they arranged a cake and made the day extra special for me. They made sure everybody was aware what was going on each day. The trip involved so many fun activities which was great. The accommodation was really clean, tidy, and provided towels for everyone. The trip was great value for money as it included trips, meals and taxis. Overall I had an amazing trip and have now booked onto two more Tru Travels trips!

This tour was fantastic! The places on the trip were incredible!, the beautiful lush lake of khao sok, the stunning serenity of Bottle Beach on koh phangan. Koh tao was lovely too, the accommodation and the boat trip to koh Nangyuan was excellent!, one of the best snorkeling I've ever done and the most beautiful viewpoint I've ever seen. The guides really really made this tour. Ali is a party animal and has the cheekiest laugh, that is really contagious. Khao sok was a great experinece despite the train and was a complete contrast to Bangkok. Ali was a great guide and knew alot about the history of the places we visited. It was my first time travelling solo or doing a tour so I have nothing else to compare it to. I met some amazing people on the tour who really made the trip, it definitely wouldn’t have been as good without them. Most of the accommodation ranged from average to better than expected, it was a shame we didn’t get to stay at Echo Beach Backpackers in Koh Phangan (we had all heard great things about the atmosphere etc), on the journey there our guide was told we’d be staying in a hotel Tru Travels were test running with our group. It was okay but the water completely stopped while I was trying to shower, twice and both times I had to go and get someone to fix it, not ideal but fine. The main problem was it didn’t seem to be close by to anything. Also, the accommodation in Phi Phi was really not nice. I also found it strange that we only had one guide for the whole 18 days because from the reviews it seemed like everyone had 2 guides and it was too much to expect one guide to look after the whole group 24/7 for 18 days, especially when our group was so divided in what they wanted to do. Some of us wanted to go out a lot and some of us just wanted quiet evenings and to sleep. Our guide seemed quite tired and stressed at various points throughout the tour, I think he tried his best but it definitely has an effect on the mood and energy in the group when the only tour guide doesn’t seem to be having fun or talk up any of the optional activities. That’s not all his fault though, I feel that he should have had another guide to help manage the group. One of my main issues was how many ‘meals’ we were expected to get from the seven eleven, not even expected, we had no choice, it was the only place to get some ‘meals’ and there’s no real food in there, just snacks and junk. We had at least 4 breakfasts, 3 lunches and 3 dinners (at least) from the seven eleven throughout the tour, so just Pringles, chocolate and Gatorade basically. Koh Tao was the best part of the tour, I wish we had stayed for longer, I almost stayed there for the remainder of the time rather than continue on the tour. The accommodation there was great, it was close to everything, there were good restaurants and bars close by and a great atmosphere and island feel. After that it was ups and downs, Railay was fun because of the group but our hotel was again, out of the way. Phi Phi was overcrowded and then Phuket was the worst place on the tour (the hotel/rooms were nice though) but the only thing there was a shopping mall and when we asked our tour guide what was good to do there he said ‘hmm chill by the pool’. Also you need a decent size day time backpack because when you go to Khao Sok National Park (which is amazing and my joint favourite with Koh Tao for location and fun) you need to pack an over night bag with everything you need as you can’t bring your luggage/backpack but we didn’t know this before the tour so that’s just an FYI.

This had nothing to do with our two guides, their communication with us was excellent. This tour was amazing. However, we booked the 21 day Tru Northern and Beaches. Online descriptions leave the impression that this is one tour not 2 completely separate tours. Upon ending the Northern tour, we were disappointed to receive a completely new guide and group. Our travel from the northern tour caused us to miss some activities on our next beaches tour. There was also a repeat activity between the two tours.

My favourite experience was the jungle trek, because it was a humbling and unique experience to stay overnight in the jungle with the local family, and in the evening we all got loose around the bonfire and that was my favourite memory.

He did this tour along side our tour leader, apol (Gun). Tru travels as a company wasn’t as communicative as we would have hoped but these two tour guides were honestly the best I’ve ever had. They did everything in their power to keep the tour running smoothly and made sure we kept good time. A personal experience I had was when I cut my knee after jumping from a waterfall, and Ali immediately ran to my attention with a first aid kit, and kept assisting me throughout the tour with reapplying products to clean the wound so it wouldn’t become infected. apol also helped with this. They are a really good team and I am so honored that I was able to experience Thailand with them as my guides. I won’t go through Tru travels again because of the company. I will be going through Tru travels again because of the amazing tour guides that they gave us. Thank you both, Ali and Gun! We will see you guys again!!

My favourite things were elephant sanctuary even though this wasn’t a part of the trip, the fact that the leaders helped with organizing it for us was so helpful my other favourite parts were the full moon party, floating bungalows paddle boarding and snorkelling, before I came I had a fear of the open water and because of facing that I have enjoyed every minute. Viewpoints will always be the focal point of these tours that’s why I came to Thailand. The tour guides were attentive to everyone’s needs even when outside activity hours always willing to help with information or anything else we may have needed. Arthur endevoured everyday to improve his English to help us Ali is always on hand for helpful information and culture. Everett is always on hand for every issue, he always makes sure we enjoy every minute of the day he has made the trip for everyone.

Snorkelling, jumping off the boat with Everett, facing my fear of the water, Maya bay, pool party, elephant sanctuary, Railay Kayaking, ATVs bottle beach viewpoint i could go on. I thought all the tour leaders were supportive and encouraging! Everett especially supported me and encouraged me to do things i was afraid of. I no longer feel afraid of the water and Ali and Arthur have also been incredible on the trip They have been genuine kind and lots of laughs on the trip!

I did the two week North Thailand trip with Ali and Colin. We had a fantastic time all together. The best part of the tour was the elephant sanctuary and feeding and bathing with the animals.
I have had a amazing time in Thailand.

Accommodation could have been better in certain places considering all the money we paid for the tour. It also wasn’t advertised as a party every night kind of tour which it was. As a non drinker it wasn’t for me, although it wasn’t too much of a problem because I was always able to go back when I wanted. However it should be advertised. We didn’t get told an itinerary at the start of the trip so we never really knew what we were doing, became annoying at times. Think an itinerary would help. A few negative points but in all, I really enjoyed this tour. Will book onto another when I can.

It was a very good mix of get to know the thai cultural, seeing many so beautiful spots we wouldn‘t have seen without them and having some great beachpartys with some amazing people. The accommodations have been all the time nice, maybe sometimes a little adventurous but that’s what makes memories. We traveled as a couple and they made sure that we got at every place a private double room for some privacy. We can recommend this trip to everyone who want to see a little more then it would be possible to experience on their own. The trip was so amazing! I did the 12 day southern Thailand tour and I extended my tour from 8 days to 12 because I loved it so much! If there was anything wrong or we needed advice they were always there to be a helping hand ! We had lots of fun with them! First of all this tour is amazing, it was the best 3 weeks of my life and it couldn't have been better. The tour guides certainly made this experience, I'm 35, I manage a service and I'm quite critical with high standards and these guys blew me away! I just want to thank Tru Travels for employing such amazing staff, they really made this trip excel my expectations. There were so many suggestions of activities to do and all of the staff were happy to help us organise anything. I really can't praise you guys enough and thank you for making this experience so amazing.
Sarayuth aka Ali, was the most adorable human I have ever encountered, he picked me up at the airport and I instantly knew I was in safe hands. it was his first tour with tru travels but he has lots of experience and it showed. He had such genuine care for everyone on the tour and is just an all round lovely guy. He shared all his Thai knowledge with us about the Temples and the culture and taught us lots of Thai words and ways of life. On top of this he was so much fun! Ali, I miss you xxx
Itchy- well this guy just absolutely loves life and fun and just wants everyone to have a great time! We had Itchy for the first 10 days and again what a lovely guy! He was so much fun and always checking in on everyone and making sure we all had a good time.
Tamara- So much love for this girl! She's an absolute gem. She took music everywhere we went and it really lifted our spirits on those early morning travels. She's so much fun, so happy, and just a genuinely lovely gal :) I miss you Tamara :(
Amanda joined us for the last 10 days when our group of 12 became 30 0dd people and her organisation skills were so impressive. I honestly can't believe how easy she made it look organising all those people, it was effortless! As with all the tru crew, her genuine desire for us all to have the best time came through everyday. constantly checking were ok, giving us options of other things to do if we had spare time or didn't wanna do one of the set activities. Not only this, Amanda really made a massive effort to make sure we all had amazing pictures to remember the trip, I look back at these now and am really grateful for all those times she made us have group pictures- thanks babe!
Papsi- another lovely guy, so happy and smiley and another great member of the tru crew.
I'll be booking the Philippines next year, i'm not sure I'll ever get better than this Thai tour but I'll definitely be booking with Tru travels in the future.

Part of what made this experience so great was the friends that I met, including the tour guides such as Ali. Ali, being Thai, helped me to understand the Thai way of life and even went over and above expectations and helped me learn some thai. I now have Ali on social media and would call him a true friend, Thanks Ali for doing such a fantastic job!

Itchy - Was always very informative and organised and knew exactly what he was doing, ensured the trip went smoothly and made it more enjoyable with his humour and character!
Napompon- Was always very informative and gave us a lot of information about life for Thai people and about the history of the country, got along with everyone and was always very helpful and polite
Ali (Sarayuth) - Always provides ample information about Thailand and the temples etc. His positivity and care about the trip ensured that we had an amazing time and whenever we had any problems he jumped to help them straight away!
Tamara - Her energy and charisma always put a smile on everyone’s face and got everyone ready for the day we had ahead of us, kept everyone entertained and was always attentive extremely helpful and enjoyable to have around.
We then joined on to a second group, and we lost Itchy and Napompon but gained two more guides in Papsi and Amanda
Papsi- Was very entertaining and always made sure every single person was enjoying there time and getting the most out of their experience
Amanda - Was always extremely attentive and organised and kept everybody in the know and did a great job of keeping the trip ticking over aswell as suggesting extra activities that we may want to do to further enrich our tour experience
Overall I would recommend trutravels to anyone looking to go on a tour about south east Asia, and I am sure this was an experience I will never forget and it is all thanks to the tour leaders at trutravels.

There’s no way I could have done everything and saw everything I did without being on this tour. All of the guides are very caring and nice. Fun too! I got really sick at the end of the tour. Amanda and Ali took care of me. I’m so grateful to be on the tour with all of them. Tamara helped me plan my trip up north for a good deal. They made sure my ongoing travel was taken care of and I understood what to do. All in all. Great times and a great tour!

As soon as I arrived to the airport, Ali was there to help bring me to the hotel. It was really nice and assuring that Ali was there, Bangkok is a BIG airport. Ali throughout the trip made sure that we always either had a smile or a laugh. He's always so witty and not one moment was ever dull. My experience was amazing!. Ali was amazing informative, organized and very knowledgably about the Temples and Thai culture and the thai lifestyle.

I was travelling alone and I joined the trip because I wanted to experience Thailand's islands with a group I could call my friends. Some of the highlights included the beautiful accommodation given to us on the tour, including floating bungalows and beautiful beach rooms. The group was also fun and lively and consisted of people of all ages which meant we could mingle well and no one felt excluded. Also, the guides, especially Tommy, were fun and seemed to want to be included in our conversations. Tommy was so much fun - would recommend him for anyone looking for a great, fun tour guide!
However, there were quite a few downsides to this tour which have left me unhappy with the overall experience and the amount of money I paid for the trip. My largest concern of the trip was that we seemed to eat almost all of our meals at 7/11 stores. This is not novel, nor is it the authentic Thai cuisine I was looking for. Almost none of the meals were included in the price and sometimes we were not given options to eat anywhere BUT a 7/11. Thereby, most of my meals were toasties, packaged croissants or salted peanuts. This was a huge disappointment for me and the rest of the group and I could not help but feel very mislead by the advertised tour and what we actually experienced.
Secondly, the tour guides tended to talk down to us and treat us as if we did not understand much. I could liken my experience on the trip to that of a high school trip with teachers. On the first day we have an hour lecture on the culture, which I thought would be educating and useful, but it turned out to be a lecture with immaterial facts such as how to use a toilet and how to take money out of an ATM. On one instance upon going out in Thailand the guide tried to tell us when he thought we should go to bed or stop drinking/eating - i felt just like i was on a trip with a disapproving grandparent.
Lastly, our trip happened to land directly during the coronavirus outbreak and the shutting of Thailand borders. Consequently, the tour was cancelled halfway through. We received no information except for an email that we would be essentially abandoned in Thailand and told to make our own arrangements home. Our guide had no idea how to get us home and he had very little guidance. We had a horrific 24 hour journey home from Koh Tao to Bangkok including overnight ferries and long coach rides, during which I was very sick and the guide could not seem to care (despite there being a deadly global pandemic of which I was showing symptoms.) TruTravels and the guide even tried to put me in a triple room upon arriving at the hotel in Bangkok. If I had had the coronavirus then I could have spread it to my two roommates very easily and when I asked for a room by myself to protect my fellow travellers the tour guide was extremely sassy and claimed the hotel was fully booked - it was not and I took matters into my own hands because the tour guide could not seem to care less about my health of that of my roommates (shouldn't health and safety be your number 1 concern?!)
The places we went were beautiful but i do not believe I had my money's worth on this trip, I could have seen a lot more and saved a lot of money if I had travelled alone and met people alone the way. Having said all this I am thankful for the guides for taking us to the places they did and spending time to make sure we were all happy.
