About me:Hello travellers! My name is Steve. I'm a half Thai, half German tour guide living in Thailand. I grew up in Thailand and have traveled around south east Asia as well as parts of Europe. Traveling is by far my favourite thing to do, which is why I became a tour guide! I love to share my experiences, meet new people, make lots of friends, and bring some awesome memories with me. Hopefully I get to be your guide one day and I'll show you what Thailand is all about!

I did so many things that usually I might hesitate to do, but when in the moment, jumped at the chance! This trip has been breathtaking, exhilarating, and heartwarming, all at the same time. The activities were incredible, the people were amazing and the food was delicious.
Our tour guides, Scotty and Steve are such wonderful people who shared their knowledge and awe of Thailand so energetically and invigoratingly. They went above and beyond to help us get the best of every opportunity- in scheduled activities, in bonding with the others on our trip, and in free time where they accompanied us to many other additional activities they loved- not on the itinerary.
This trip was an experience of a lifetime- one I will never forget. I have met wonderful people and shared unforgettable experiences which will stay with me forever. I'm booking the next trip as soon as I land back in England!

My experience on the South tour was amazing. Gun and Scotty were entertaining and fun, while being professional and informative as well. Gun went above and beyond to ensure everyone was enjoying themselves. When we weren't able to go on the boat trip due to the weather, Gun due to the weather, Gun bought everyone drinks to make up for it. Scotty sure everyone was safe especially when we went on nights out. My experience on this tour is great and Gun and Scotty being on this tour made the experience even better.

My overall experience I would say was amazing, very stress free as Steve done most jobs we needed to do like queue to get stickers for the boats or organise taxis to get us to places on time. I couldn't have wanted the trip to go any other way, I would like to add that when all different people wanted to do different things Steve gave so much options. The non drinkers was very hard to please no matter what Steve would recommend to them. Everyone got on like one big family and I would say that was because of Steve always bringing us together with such good entertainment.

Steve's ability to to care and cater to every incident that occurred as well as provide alternatives when required allowed for him to feel more like a friend than just a tour guide due to his genuine care towards the group. Booking with a tour like this allowed for stress free adventure and travel in which experiences were provided which would not have if traveling alone. Steve's knowledge and ability to communicate with a larger pool of people allowed for the group to make friends with people we would not have without him. I have enjoyed every minute of my time in Thailand and will be be very sad to go home and no longer be around the amazing group of people I have come to know during my time here.

Disaster struck (lost passport) and Steve was amazing for support, helping me with what to do and going out of his way lending me his phone to call, and taking his own time to take me to the police station. I don't know what I would have done without him. He is professional and caring, while still managing to be more of a friend than a guide. Some events were cancelled due to bad weather, no worries Steve is on it right away for a replacement activity. It has been so easy to enjoy myself and make friends while feeling the safety net of being on an organised tour. Accommodation and activities are excellent, traveling is often but it is comfortable. Unreal experience and I am sad to see it end and everyone going home!

From then on we shared laughs, various games, injuries and experiences that we will never forget. Our group was led by Steven who was an absolute gem, hilarious and mega informative and helpful. Thailand is a memorable country and I was just gutted I couldn't have stayed for longer. Everyday was fun-filled and some of the scenery you wake up to is like paradise (Bottle Beach) so dreamy! Although our boat trip was cancelled due to weather conditions, we instead explored the Island of Koh Phangan, and it was simply breathtaking. I know what you're thinking, it all sounds too good to be true, well for me standing at 6 foot I found the night train the least enjoyable part because I couldn't fully extend my legs. If you're average height or below you'll be all gucci!

I loved the floating markets going down the river. The waterfalls were amazing and Steve ensured that we all got up and down safely. The bike ride was so much fun riding Ayutthaya temples. The cooking class was an amazing experience and the food was so good and the Chiang Mai canyon was so much fun. My favourite days were the jungle trek and the elephant sanctuary. The zip lines were so much fun and Steve always knew places to go on the day in Pai. Overall the tour was amazing and wouldn't be the same without Steve. He was so much fun yet professional at the same time. I loved meeting all different people and having an amazing tour with them!

My favourite parts of the trip are the elephant sanctuary as we visited an animal friendly sanctuary where the elephants were treated properly. There was an incident in Chiang Mai with myself and if Steve wasn't out with the group I do not know what would have happened. He made sure we all got home safe. All the activities included were great! My favourite was the elephant sanctuary. I also liked the fact that we were given a lot of options. I loved Pai however we didn't need to go for Chinese tea. A day by the pool would have been fine. Overall I'm glad I chose Trutravels and having Steve as a tour guide was a bonus!

The tour guides are so sweet and welcoming and make sure to make you feel that they're your friend. They always find a way to ensure you have the best time. They're professional when need to be, then let loose at exactly the right times. The entire country was welcoming and inclusive, the people are always so respectful and the entire country cares about each other and their guests and that is clear to me. The activities on the tour seem like something I'll never get a chance to experience again. I love how easy going and flexible the schedules are. I feel that the flexibility made for a very enjoyable trip. The tour group are all so welcoming to each other, it's lovely to have mingled with other groups as well. I've already recommended this tour to others. It's something pictures and stories do no justice, one must go and experience this themselves!

Being the only single lad on the tour felt a bit awkward at the start, but Steven helped me feel part of the group and allowed me to feel comfortable with him becoming a great friend. Steven is also such a generous guy and makes sure that everyone on the tour comes first and is having a good time. On a night out he makes sure everyone is ok and always ensure safety of the group. The itinerary on this tour is great. The mix of culture and fun is perfect with a few chill days to relax. Overall it has been a great time!

He always made sure everyone was included and having fun as well as having so much knowledge about the places we went to see. He also let us explore the local night markets as well as take us to some nice restaurants and always knew the best bars and clubs. Some of my favourite activities were the jungle trek and though it was challenging, we got to see some amazing waterfalls and the hill tribe homestay was so nice, as well as the delicious food we had there. I also loved the cooking class, the elephant sanctuary, zip lining, and the Chiang Mai Canyon water park were all experiences I will never forget. Overall, I had a brilliant time and can't wait to explore south Thailand with Trutravels.

The overall package, in my opinion, was great value for money, and was planned and executed well, to the point where I would have no hesitation in recommending Trutravels to family and friends in the future.

He was always the last one to leave at night and still he was up bright and early the next day. The activities were amazing as well, especially the jungle trek and the elephants!

The fact that we were able to visit numerous locations in a short space of time and feel satisfied and not rushed is a testament to the itinerary and the way in which the guides conducted the tour. Our guides, Steven and Patty were fantastic. They were fun, supportive, informative and gave you the freedom to experience the trip in a way that suits you. Personal highlights of mine include swimming in a lake surrounded by the awe-inspiring hills of Khao Sok national park, taking boat trips out towards coral reefs and visiting the monkeys and remote islands around Phi Phi. Good old times in good old places!

The overall itinerary was perfect for me because I wanted to explore new places and learn about Thailand. The best part of the trip was staying at Khao Sok, the most beautiful and relaxing place. Followed by Koh Tao and the amazing boat trip in Phi Phi. The trip had a great mix of activities, downtime and fun nights out. Steve and Patty were the best tour guides and are very organised. Steve will help with any issues and made everyone feel comfortable, he brought the group together! Patty taught me Thai words which I really appreciated. I know English isn't his first language but he made the effort to communicate. The only improvements I have for the tour is the travelling. I found the overnight train and ferry quite tiring but the journeys were worth it. Also, there was too much travelling on our final day from Phi Phi to Phuket. I feel one night in Phi Phi and the boat trip would be enough. I would have loved to stay in Koh Tao for longer but will be going back! Over all, this trip has been amazing and I love Thailand! I will miss Patty and Steve so much and hope to stay in contact with everyone I met. Kob Khun Ka! xx

Steve and Patty were great on nights out and recommending places to eat, making sure everyone was happy. They definitely created a family vibe with the group. Personally would have liked longer at bottle beach and less travelling during the day. Would have happily substituted lay ins to be able to travel in the early morning and have more days at each destination. Overall I had an amazing trip and I would recommend to all my friends. Prior to coming away, Steve and Patty emailed and added me on Facebook and created a group chat which instantly put me at ease. We were collected from Bangkok airport and dropped off to our hotel where Steve greeted us with a big smile. The welcome meal was a great idea as the group really bonded on the first night and everyone began to make friends. Bangkok was crazy and everyone was excited to leave the big city and get to the beaches. Khao Sok national park was incredible. Its a must do experience and I'm so glad I got to experience it with such a great group of people. No wifi or signal meant everyone got along so well and had fun and it was great that the guides got so involved. The islands were breathtaking and life was made so easy by being on this tour. Everytime we got off a ferry, a taxi was there waiting. Only downside was our last day was spent traveling. The whole experience has been life changing, being in Thailand has changed my mindset and has really helped me to relax and forget my worries at home. Steve and Patty were awesome and our whole group has made friends for life.

They brought the group together, especially the first few days where I was quite nervous about this and my future travel plans, but their knowledge and willingness to help me plan my trip put me at ease. Khao Sok was my favourite part of the tour, we just had such a good group of people that day, but I'd definitely go back. Steve has been a massive help on this trip. There were a couple of trips we did, the half moon party and Pattaya Elephant Sanctuary that weren't on the itinerary that we wanted to do and Steve organised it in like 2 seconds! He's so on the ball with everything, and a great asset to your company. Everyone loved Patty, he was so sweet and would teach us Thai even though there was a language barrier, but that wasn't an issue. Him and Steve just worked so well together, I really have nothing bad to say about them. The itinerary could have been better throughout- not saying I didn't enjoy myself- but spending pretty much most of our last day travelling seemed a bit pointless. Also going from Khao Sok to the Eastern Islands then back down to Khao Sok to the Eastern Islands then back down to Phuket seemed like there was more travelling than necessary. I think it would have been better to do Bangkok, Khao Sok, Phuket, Phi Phi and then the Eastern Islands.

Steven kept an eye on everybody, looking after everybody's feelings and made sure they got back to the hotel at night. I felt really comfortable with him and would like to do a tour with him again.
Its a very physical tour so be sure that you can do it! Not a lot of time to relax, but really good experiences. After all, I would definitely do this tour again.

He would be sure to go out of his way to make sure everyone on his tour felt involved and was safe. Whether that meant staying out with the group until the last of us were home after a night out drinking/eating. Or just ensuring all of us had equal amounts of attention in terms of those of us who wanted to do additional activities throughout the day. He would organise those, and show us around, recommending any tourist attractions or restaurants that were worthy of a visit. The he would equally spend time with those of us who wanted to do activities during the evening. To say Steve has put his heart and his soul into making sure we had the greatest northern tour would still be an understatement as I am sure he put our best interests above his own health! I'm sure he would be more than grateful for the break after we have left so that he can catch up on some well deserved sleep!
Steve gave us lots of history behind the temples and ruins we visited on the tour and his professionalism and experience certainly showed throughout the tour. Patty, the intern on this tour, was also great as an assistant group leader. He was like a good friend just as much as a group leader and definitely made the experience incredible. So, I have to say a massive thank you to both Steve and Patty for making our Northern Thailand Adventure such an amazing 2 weeks and something I will remember and cherish for the rest of my life. It wouldn't have been the same without them both!

Everything was already arranged and organised which helped me feel completely at ease. When people wanted to go out in the evening, Steve would come out and stay with us until we left so he made sure that we got back to the hotel safely. All of the activities were enjoyable and were different each day which was good.
If I needed anything at anytime, Steve and Patty were always there to help out and they both went out of their way to make sure I was ok and happy, always made sure that the group were happy and in high spirits enjoying themselves.
Overall I have had the best time and couldn't have asked for more and that is massively down to Steve and Patty. I would recommend Trutravels to everyone and would strongly recommend Steve as the tour guide! I will book with Trutravels again 100%!!

Steve always tried to make sure everyone in the group was happy, having fun and knowing what we were doing when we were doing it. I can't praise Steve highly enough, more than just a tour guide to the group, he became a friend. Despite a couple of issues that occurred on the tour (only 1 taxi for Pai after he asked for 2, and a slight language divide in the group) he coped with these issues like a professional and everyone was happy.
The tour itself was as amazing as I hoped, making memories that will stay with me forever. As for my favourite part of the tour, it was the tribal village stay in the mountains that really was a special experience. The group all became close friends and bonded really quickly. All the activities were well organised and we were told well in advance exactly what we needed for each one.
I've got to also give a special mention to Patty the intern who was helping Steve. He really tried hard to bond with the group and he got involved in a lot of the activities. He is one of the funniest, nicest people I've ever met.

Steve made sure that everyone was settled well and happy at all times. Every piece of transport is sorted by the tour guides and set out for you. As a solo traveler, I highly recommend traveling with Trutravels. You are also given lots of free time and tour guides are flexible with travellers wishes. Having Steve as a tour guide, I would not wish to have anyone else. He was always there when we needed him. If on a night out, he would make sure he was the last one out for safety reasons and looking after the travellers. I do not have one bad word to say. I have extended my tour while I was out in Thailand and again this was made easy for me all thanks to Steve's help. Steve is more a friend than a tour guide. Patty the intern made the trip, and again, wouldn't change it for the world. Can't wait to make more memories with Trutravels and hopefully have Steve as our tour guide again.

You're hand isn't going to be held the entire time which is great. Its up to me to figure my own things out with other people in the group which I really enjoyed! Don't regret one moment of the whole trip. Literally had the time of my life and made a family in Thailand which I will never forget. The full moon experience was so great and also something I'll never forget. All the islands were amazing and tour guides were unbelievably fun, helpful and compassionate. Literally the best trip of my life. Thailand is amazing and will give you all the fun in the world. Especially Railay Beach! It is without a doubt the true land of smiles. Best place ever! One of our activities changed due to the original activity being shut down- yet we only found out the day before? Frustrating for those who think everything is planned when it turns out to be changing and we not knowing. Transportation was great! One night we were expected to pay for the taxi when Steven had cancelled slip and fly due to rain, rain stopped at 3 and we were checked into the echo hostel and did not see him again, he said it would be a chill night and if was want to do something we have to pay... we weren’t excepting this so were all annoyed. He wasn’t at the hostel with us and with it being our first day there we didnt know what to do. Accommodation was great! Whole part of the experience, the whole group said we were in echo hostel for too long- none of us enjoyed it there! Not half as many meals where included than what we were expecting, our farewell meal was the BBQ at echo before full moon....which was already free? Steven and pom Pom where overall great!! Loved them both, always ready for a laugh and a dance! I feel pom pom had the correct intentions the whole time and thought about us in everything he did- he would drink water when we went out because he knew we were his responsibility, small language barrier but it made us love him more!! Steven was great also, although I think sometimes he got too comfortable and took the piss a little bit. The day we checked into echo, he wasn’t at lime and soda with us all morning, we had to get the taxi there on our own, then he checked us in and we didn’t see him again that day. It was fustrating as because he lived near he could just go home (which is fine but tell us- even if he wanted a day off we would have like cool, enjoy!) I think sometimes his priorities were just somewhere else.... . We went out on a day trip one day and we always put out complete trust into Steven and pom pom because they know what they are doing and we don’t, and then when you know Steven is doing something he’s not and you’re in the middle of nowhere surrounded by people you dont know! It’s very fustrating as you want him to put you first not himself. I was worried in case something happened and we had to go to hospital or the police had to come then what would we do?
Overall it truly was an amazing experience and we loved it! We payed so much money and just expected a little more, not just the activities maybe just more from our guide also.

He went above and beyond for every one of us. Any problems we had we went to Steve and Alisha who were more than happy to help! I could not compliment these two tour guides enough, they generally made us feel comfortable from start to finish.
The only criticism we had as a group was value for money. We spent £750 GBP on a holiday that had quite a lot of 'chill days', completely not the fault of our tour guides, we read the itinerary before we came but just expected a bit more than staying 5 nights out of the 13 in the same hotel with two activities booked. Having said that, I had the trip of a lifetime and met some amazing people ill never forget. I would absolutely love to continue travelling Asia meeting other Tru Travels family, although, I don't think any will compare to Steve and Alisha! A credit to your company!!

I conquered so many fears during that vacation and there was one adventure after another. I loved it! I can't tell what my favourite part of the trip was! Every evening I said "this was the best day" but I really loved the elephants and the waterfalls, etc. You guys did a really great job! I was just really sad that the package for zip lining was changed from gold to silver so it was only half the stations. Our guide told us about the gold but he didn't know it was changed. And keep Arthur! He is so funny! We loved him!

Not only were all the locations perfect in every way (apart from the Railay plague!), but one word describes our two tour guides Steve and Justin.....LEGENDS. These two guys went over and above at every and any opportunity to ensure every person on the tour got the most that they could out of the experience. Like I said, this was my second TruTravels tour after Indonesia, and there's no question who I'll be going to for my third.

Upon arriving in Bangkok I met up with our primary tour guide Colin. Any questions I had with respect to accommodations right down to recommendations for a good food joint were answered promptly. He was super friendly, always up for an adventure, and possibly more excited than I was to meet the rest of the group and to begin the tour.
Our Thai guides, Steve, Gun, and Itchy were awesome as well. They were so full of energy, downright hilarious, and loved sharing their stories with myself and the rest of the group. They taught us about Thai culture, their religion, and history about each scheduled destination. Their passion to teach others about the thailand ways could be felt in each story they told.
Although some of the scheduled destinations were cancelled due uncontrollable circumstances, all four of these guides made sure that an activity equally as fun took it’s place. Ensuring the group and each individual was getting the most out of this trip was the top priority for each one of these guides. Colin, Steve, Gun and Itchy, thanks for making this trip one to remember. It will be a hard one to top.

I owe this wonderful experience to our tour guides Colin, Steve, Gun and Itchy who became more than just our tour guides they became our friends and family. These men with the time they spent with us went out of there way to help, educate and ensure we seen and did everything we wanted to do and see. They were so welcoming and friendly and made us all feel so comfortable and safe at all times. I would even say we tested their limits when 25 people all wanted different meals etc and they always pulled through and we were all always happy and satisfied and most importantly laughing. I can’t credit these four men enough for the experience and memories they have given us. Forever thankful. The tour is great value for money and you get what you put into it. Jump in and get involved. The balance between chill days and activities was great it gave you the chance to catch up on sleep or visit places or do extra activities, the guides always helping to organsise and arrange extra activities. I couldn’t have asked for a better deal or company, would recommend to everyone to do this trip and just embrace every single part of it because you’ll miss it when it’s over.

Colin and Steve were our guides at the beginning of the tour, they were both full of energy, always helpful and generally all round cool guys to hang out with. They made a group chat which started banter straight away and was helpful to keep communicated all trip. Sadly Steve left us after 8 days but we gained Gun, so many funny amazing memories with all guides as well as Itchy that came to Koh Tao and Phi Phi and Phuket with us also. Couldn't fault any of them.. AMAZING GUIDES!!

Colin was our group leader and I couldn’t fault him or any of the other guys; he was always on the lookout for something for us to do and consistently balanced having a good time with making sure everyone was safe and catered for. Also just a really sound guy. Steve and Gun were our Thai speaking guides and they were both awesome too! If you’re one to stay up to early hours of the morning then you’ll love these guys (but you would anyway). All these guys were so friendly, helpful and never posed a problem to anyone in the group - 5 stars for them!
The trip was incredible and I wouldn’t take it back for the world, but I felt the monetary value of the trip wasn’t quite justified by all of the activities that were (and weren’t) included. If you’re not on a budget then you’ll be fine, but be prepared to spend a lot more on the trip than the tour price. We were also slightly frustrated when booking the trip, that the payment system wouldn’t work on Black Friday weekend with the 25% discount, so when we came to booking it, we lost out and were refused the deal profusely by TruTravels, meaning we couldn’t afford the 23 day tour, only the 13 days.
Apart from those small things, however, this was the trip of a lifetime and I really can’t recommend it enough. (Although if you don’t like drinking, the Full Moon tour probably isn’t for you). 9/10 from me!

My favourite spot had to be the floating bungalows at khao sok national park. As a very secluded place in the middle of paradise it gave the group a great time to bond over activities and games which has brought us closer together and has enabled us to create great memories and friends for life.

Zip lining definately got the adrenaline going and the Thai cooking lesson was also a highlight. The accomodation included in the tour was all comfortable and clean, couldnt fault it. Travel provided within the tour could of ran a little smoother, at times we were waiting around for transport to arrive/gather people. Wouldn't say it had a huge impact on losing time in terms of setting us back! Big shout out to Justin and Steve my tour guides for the first 14 days on the tour, these guys definately know how to ensure everyone is having a safe and great time. They provided continuous information and support to the group along with great humour and enthusiasm. Couldn't of asked for better tour guides, will miss these guys! If you want to have a real taste of thailand culture and experience fun filled activities everyday... This tour will not disappoint!

I would even go as far to say this tour was even better than the southern tour!
It will blow your mind the amount of weird and wonderful things you will get up to in the space of two weeks! You'll do things you would never do had you been solo traveling for a fraction of the price and with the security of others looking after you! I am honestly going to have memories from this tour for the rest of my life!
I am not the fittest of people so was worried that some of the activities would be outside my fitness level and I would have to tap out but I can confirm that everything is completely doable! The key is to take your time and get there when you get there! There were times (at the beginning of the tour) where I was worried i would be embarassed by asking the guides to slow down or take a quick break but these fears were rapidly laid to rest when I saw the guides actively encouraged all to take there time and rest as long as they felt they needed (if not longer!) So if a lump like me can do all the wonderful activities this tour has to offer then don't worry you can do it too!!
Speaking of our guides we were blessed to have both Steven and Justin again, they had both been our guides on the southern tour previously. These guys are just amazing! They seamlessly find the balance between giving out facts and figures, making you feel like you can ask them anything (no matter how embarrassing), making you feel safe and above all having fun! You don't feel like you are on tour with guides but in fact with two old brothers who make it their mission to get the most from their northern experience! It blows my mind how effortlessly the guys are able to read the feelings of the group and adjust accordingly so that everyone is having a good time! They really are the dynamic duo and if you and lucky enough to have one (or both!) of them as your guides then I can promise you are going to have the experience of a life time! Over half the reason we booked the northern tour is we knew we were going to have these guys as our guides again and we were not disappointed!
This tour is a once in a lifetime experience! If you are thinking about doing It just do It! Just book It! Just go! You won't be disappointed!

The activities were incredible and were the kind of things that we wouldn’t have dreamed of doing on our own but the tour made it so easy and we had the BEST time. Our tour guides were Steven and Justin (the same guides we had on our first tour) and they were a huge part of why we decided to book this tour. They both strike the perfect balance between being informative and being a great laugh. They were there to tell us the best places to go out at night (and of course join in) as well as being on hand as soon as anyone felt ill or exhausted or had ANY other issue. They were highly professional and yet when we finally parted ways it felt like we were saying goodbye to genuine friends. My one issue with this tour would be that the company being used to supply transport were highly inconsistent and often seemed to have little idea as to what was going on. This was no fault of TruTravels themselves and was handled extremely well by Justin and Steve but I felt it should be mentioned. If you’re thinking of doing this tour then just do it. You’ll make great friends, do all sorts of amazing activities that’ll make you fall in love with Thailand, and if you wind up with either Justin or Steve on your tour then you’re guaranteed an amazing time.

Accomodation was clean, well equipped and well located...with locations varying from uber busy Bangkok to completely chilled Pai.
And then there were our Guides...Justin and Steven. They were spot on...always ready with information and ready with the plan of attack. If anybody had issues, like illness, they were there to help and advise. They were the perfect mix of fun and chill. I can't say a bad thong about them. They went the extra mile for sure. They really helped to make the trip an amazing experience of experiences.
Just do it!!! Make great memories and friends!

Only point of improvement would be the transport covered by the guesthouse in stead of TruTravels (to Pai for example). Still Steve and Justin made sure we had nothing to worry about. Cannot fault them what so ever. They have honestly made my time in Thailand the best it could have possibly been and I can’t thank them enough for everything they did for me and the group. Truly the best tour guides EVER!! I was so sad to have had to leave them this morning and I wish I could take them with me for the final part of my Thailand trip but I will definitely stay in touch and i’m sure I will see them again soon.
Regards the tour itself I had a fantastic time and the activities included we all amazing. However, I feel I should mention that the supplier for our transport was all over the place and very unorganised. But Steve and Justin handled the transport situation very professionally and made sure we were all sorted and had nothing to worry about.

Our thai guide was Steven who was so full of information about everywhere where we went and everything we saw.. There wasn't a single question he couldn't answer and yet at the same time he was so much fun and so nice and friendly so he was way more then just a tour guide. Our second guide Justin who was so much fun and made the tour so energetic and was always available with any questions that we needed answered (I had a lot). He couldn't do enough for every single person on the tour. From before the tour ever started both guides made us feel so at ease about travelling Thailand and were there every step of the way if we needed even the smallest or simplest thing... If i was to do any other tour there is no other guides I would wanna do it with.. they are just such a great combination... If you are even remotely considering doing a tour with trutravels then look no further causethis tour is the best there is..

The tour leaders Justin and Steve were excellent and went above and beyond their job. They wouldn’t force you to take part in anything you didn’t want to but made sure you had the best time of your life and felt part of the group, and ultimately made sure you were safe! The accommodation along the way was what you expect when travelling. Whether that be the night train which was an interesting experience or the floating bungalows which was an incredible experience. Some places were amazing to stay at and other were average, but nothing terrible and it all makes up that experience of Thailand. All the stops on the tour are worth doing, you’ll be blown away! Overall I can fully recommend travelling with TruTravels and I hope to be doing so again next year on the Northern tour.

Our two tour guides, Steve and Justin, made the trip. We had a fairly large group and still we were made to feel well taken care of and all and any problems were handled amazingly. This was whilst enjoying the chilled vibes of the Islands. Safe to say all of us were made to feel like part of the Tru Travels Fam. We also met other tour leaders whilst on our travels, and would truely recommend, and have been doing, Tru Travels to anyone (willing to listen) and wanting to explore south east Asia. All the tour leaders I met genuinely cared and looked after all of us. They were fully inclusive and supportive and understanding if there was an activity we felt unable to participate in, and without judgment accepted our preferences in any aspect of our day. For this reason I throughly recommend Tru travels for any first time or solo, or nervous traveller. The couples seemed to enjoy it too!
The organisation of this tour was incredible. I did not have to plan anything, and felt safe leaving this to Justin and Steve. This was the first time I have travelled and not planned every aspect of my day, which shows how relaxed and trustin I felt towards our guides. As we traveled from Bangkok to Phuket, with many stops in between, there was quite a bit of organising to do in terms of bus rides, ferries, boats, etc, and this was made as seemless as possible. Even the non inclusive activities were organised for us by our guides for those of us who chose to do them. I felt Steve and Justin went above and beyond in ensuring we got to see as much as we could and have a good time. Their endless energy and enthusiasm was the highlight of my trip; as well as the family feel that was created amongst the group.
I was also amazed at how much we were able to do and see. This tour is packed with included activities. And was better than I imagined. I cannot wait to join another Tru Travels tour and will be booking again as soon as the diary allows.

It felt more like you were traveling with two older brothers rather than guides - they always made me feel safe, like I could ask them any question no matter how stupid and best of all you were able to have a laugh with them and forget they were in charge - they felt just like other tour members! If this is your first time in Thailand and you are nervous do this tour as it is a great way to immerse yourself in the beautiful country that is Thailand! Just do it!

In regards to the company, TruTravels, I have no complaints. They were quick to respond to all questions I had prior and during the trip, professional in their communication, and very impressive through and through.
Our guide, Steve, was incredible. Not a day went by where he didnt bring a positive and contagiously fun attitude to the tour. Despite some unfortunate luck with the weather, Steve was always ready to suggest alternate activities or help the group to attend nearby events (like The Jungle Party) not part of the tour. If you're fortunate to get Steve as a guide, then you're in for a fun time for sure!
Now, as far as the tour itself goes, I had no real complaints other than I wish we didnt spend so much time at Echo Beach Hostel. Obviously doing so keeps the cost of the tour lower in terms of transportation an accommodation (Echo Beach hostel is owned by TruTravels), but by the end of the tour you could feel staying at the same hostel for so many days and nights in a row was taking its toll on the group energy.
It's a minor complaint, and as I said, had the weather been ideal, I'm sure we would have had more time out in the sun to explore away from the hostel to refresh us mentally. All in all, I would still recommend the tour for sure.
If you have a chance to attend the Jungle Party (on your own dime outside the tour costs) I'd recommend it, and if you have the time and money to participate in the extended tour to the remaining islands I'd suggest doing that as well! It's one thing I wish I had done myself as 13 days flew by fast.

After being in the busy cities of Vietnam and quiet Laos, Thailand was the place I wanted to end my trip with and I'm so glad I chose this tour. The chilled out, peaceful islands, and the craziness of Bangkok and Phuket! I wouldn't of changed any part of this trip for the world. The tour wouldn't of been half as good if it wasn't for my amazing group and amazing tour guides, Dean and Steve. They went above and beyond their job description, they were not just tour guides, they were friends. They made all of us feel special and got to know us all individually, so much so, they probably know my life story! Thank you so much Dean and Steve for making my last few weeks travelling so special. They made me love Thailand so much I am already planning on coming back out early next year!
The overall trip was incredible, I couldn't believe how many included activities there was compared to previous tour companies I have been with! And I couldn't believe everything I did was included in the price! It's still surreal to me that I have done everything I have done and been to places that you see on postcards!
The accommodation was amazing, all of the hotels were so nice, the only one I wasn't a fan of was Phi Phi, but after being in some horrible places, you realise you can't have 5* luxuary everywhere you go, unfortunately!

Tour guides - Steve and dean. Both guys were amazing. Always went that extra bit further to ensure all members of the group were happy and feeling part of a family. When it was free time, amongst the two of them they thought of different ideas to make the experience more enjoyable. Rather than us not being sure of what to do and where to go, they used their own free time to make our time better. Left us with memories we won't forget. They both also went that extra mile to ensure any situations that arose along the way were dealt with and everyone was happy. Really did make us feel like one big family.
The overall trip was fantastic. Loved every minute of it. Loved the activities, locations, accommodation etc. Each day was a new experience which added to the trip. Allowed us to see the sorts of food, accommodation and living conditions there are in Thailand. It gave me the chance to do things I've never done before. See monkeys, kayaking, indoor surfing, snorkelling to name a few. All of which I'll never forget.
The transport was a wide variety and very enjoyable. From the over night train, tuk tuks, ferries, boats, buses etc. It was quite an experience and were easily accessible from our locations.
The accommodation for the 18days varied which I think was rather good. Staying in floating bungalows, hotels, hostels, over night trains and ferries - these all made it extra enjoyable.
Would definelty recommend this trip to friends. Was a trip to remember

The Islands visited are truly the most beautiful views I have ever seen and getting to experience this with people who became like family to me made the whole experience even better! Our tour guides went above and beyond to make sure each and every one of us had the most amazing trip we could imagine.

I had the pleasure of spending it with the most amazing people, who were total strangers who became family. Our tour guides, Dean and Steve, were also freaking awesome! Always enthusiastic and energetic, they made our time on the trip unforgettable! Despite some crap weather, questionable modes of transport and ridiculous hangover's they were always upbeat and made the travelling in-between designations so much fun. Without them the trip wouldn't have been what it was! 100% recommend them as guides. Totally missing Thailand right now, considering selling a kidney so I can go back. It was a once in a lifetime kinda trip made mostly by the people we were spending it with!

Since the first day of the Tour, Steve our guide, gave me a very nice welcome after a 14 hour flight, flustered from the flights etc, and it just lifted my spirits up and from that moment I knew Steve was going to be showing me a great time! He is so energetic and knowledgeable about his surroundings. I have never met anyone who could keep 18 of us so entertained, and makes sure that we were all participating in everything. And because of that we got the most of everything together as a group. Steve is also a first class musician! His music could keep us singing for days. The tour itself was very well organized. From day 1, I didn’t have to worry about anything. Steve kept us up to date with all the details on the daily.

The places that were visited on the tour was really amazing. From the floating raft houses of Khao sok all the way to the view points of Phi Phi islands. Everything in between was phenomenal. The tour had a really good mix of culture, adventure and nice relaxing moments that made me realize that every day on this trip, I was always in for a smile that lasted the day. Steve always made sure that we were having a good time and enjoying the moments. I loved how the tour only stayed in Bangkok for 2 nights, then after that we moved to the south, for the last 12 days , where the tour really started to get more of Thailand’s multicultural vibes. I could never imagine such a big country and the contrast to the atmosphere of the different destinations. They were very different from each other! I definitely cannot wait to go on another Trutravels tour, where I know the guides are very fun and engaging, and the tours themselves are designed to really give you an experience of a life time!

While most people say they loved the tribal village and elephants the best, I have to say that biking around the ruins among traffic was my highlight - it was such a blast! Though all of the activities were memorable! The accommodations were all clean and comfortable. The food that isn't included in the price is very cheap. Trutravels is definitely worth traveling with. They went far far above and beyond to make the tour what it was, pair of absolute Rocktars!! Many thanks to the other members of the TRU travels team I met almond the way! Itchy, Tamara, Ben, thanks for including me in your plans on my last night in Bangkok that was pretty special and unexpected. Will recommend Tru travels to everyone I can.
