Super knowledgable about the places we were exploring, always keen for a stop off at a beautiful overlook, and helpful with the million questions I was always asking haha.
The tour itself is phenomenal, and for someone that REALLY doesn't like to do organized tours, it was more than I could have hope for. Never felt too organized or too packaged. The vans are totally sweet...power and wifi FTW! This trip has tainted me because I don't think I can ever go back to typical tour transports. And the smaller groups make it so much easier to meet people and make friends, allll the hilarious quotes we wrote down throughout the week. Good vibes all around.
Some absolute best memories have to be the Blue Mountains hikes and all of the outdoors activities we did. Yes, awe-inspiring is cliché but that's what it was. Whitsundays was also another gem, sleeping on the boat and waking up for a morning swim in that crazy blue water, nothing better. I actually didn't know we would go sailing around the Whitsundays (I'm not the best at looking at itineraries) which made it even better, I can't believe how stunning the bays and marine life is!
One thing everyone needs to do... Skydive! It was the best moment of my life...and the scenery around Cairns was next level awesome.
Totally recommend people hop on the 2 week tours for Wild Kiwi, the Absolute Aussie was the perfect amount of time to get to know people and make really great friends while not feeling rushed at all. But overall, highly recommend this company!

What a week! I had a blast exploring the East Coast of Oz with Wild Kiwi. Robbie our guide was super friendly and knowledgeable and took us to some pretty epic, off the beaten track spots. Highlights …What a week! I had a blast exploring the East Coast of Oz with Wild Kiwi. Robbie our guide was super friendly and knowledgeable and took us to some pretty epic, off the beaten track spots. Highlights of the trip included the boat trip out to Fraser Island, learning to surf, and wine tasting in Hunter Valley! Everyone on the tour was in their 20s or early 30s and were up for a good mix of exploring and socialising but also wanted to get up early to make the most of the trip (so it didn't feel like a 24/7 party bus tour).
I'd recommend Wild Kiwi to anyone looking for a sociable flashpacker style tour, who is keen to see the best spots of Oz, whilst getting off the beaten track too. :)

I have done a trip with Wild Kiwi in NZ and I loved it so much, I had to come back down under and do their Absolute Aussie tour and they did not disappoint! I loved that we got to go to a Koala Hospit…I have done a trip with Wild Kiwi in NZ and I loved it so much, I had to come back down under and do their Absolute Aussie tour and they did not disappoint! I loved that we got to go to a Koala Hospital and the sailing in the Whitsundays was my favourite part! I would recommend this 100%!

The north island was incredible, there are so many unique interesting activities to do and Robbie was very organised and got everyone where they wanted to go. The days felt full and we didn't have much downtime until the evenings, highlights were surfing, black water rafting and hobbiton. On the south island we had Big Ben and he was great too and had loads of stories about new zealands history, there was more driving in this week but the views were stunning, highlights were the franz josef heli hike and queenstown. Would recommend this tour to anyone, great group of people, sad for it to end.

With only 10 days between finishing work and having to go back to the UK's crappy winter, Wild Kiwi's 7 day Southern Voyager tour was absolutely perfect! Even by day 2, you've made great friends on bo…With only 10 days between finishing work and having to go back to the UK's crappy winter, Wild Kiwi's 7 day Southern Voyager tour was absolutely perfect! Even by day 2, you've made great friends on board and, Robbie, our guide was friendly, relaxed and very knowledgeable. The tour encompasses some fantastic locations and although some drives were long, the scenery is spectacular, you take frequent breaks at beautiful places and, in our case, the music was fab too! Wild Kiwi provided concise but informative pre-departure information, included rough prices for optional activities, but there is plenty to do at each place if those don't take your fancy. I would really recommend this tour, especially for lone travellers, non-drivers or those short on time - the company and sights are incredible and I am gutted to be home now! Thanks for a great time Robbie!

Wild Kiwi is a young, new tour company (great for 20 somethings like me) and so worth the money for all the life-changing experiences you gain - our guide Robbie was knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and literally went above and beyond for our group so many times. The bus rides are enjoyable and the everyone becomes a family after the first day! As a first time solo traveller I found this trip perfect as I was able to go out and do my own activities on our free days and still come back to spend the night with the rest of the group, where we would all share our awesome photos and experiences from the day! I made some amazing friends and we have all stayed in touch since. The different hostels are great and unique/quirky in their own ways. Queenstown was definitely a crowd favourite - We stayed in the heart of the city and the kitchen overlooks the water and mountains. If you aren't a thrill seeker that's okay, there are still great optional activities like hiking, kayaking and helicopter flights on any given day. 7 days was the perfect amount of time for everything we saw, there are also lots of photo stops that are made on the way (and boy are there a LOT of scenic locations around the South Island)

I'm just about to fly home after our 7 day Southern Voyager tour. It was one of the best weeks of my life! Our tour guide Robbie was absolutely incredible the whole time and he made our week super eas…I'm just about to fly home after our 7 day Southern Voyager tour. It was one of the best weeks of my life! Our tour guide Robbie was absolutely incredible the whole time and he made our week super easy for us. He knows so much about New Zealand so we learned heaps while on tour, and he's super organised and communicates very clearly so there's never any confusion about where you need to be. If you had to check in for any activities he'd show you exactly where you had to be and at what time. He also pre-booked tables for the whole group for dinner most nights (which were totally optional) so you didn't have to think about where to go if you didn't want to. He made our tour awesome!
7 days is a short amount of time but we did so much that it feels longer! Activities I recommend are:
- Sky diving in Franz Josef. Awesome company, cheaper than a lot of other places, with an incredible view as you fall!
- Milford Sound. Don't miss this! Not just the cruise itself but the drive through Fiordland National Park is a must-see and absolutely takes your breath away.
- Shotover Canyon Swing in Queenstown. Possibly my favourite activity for the whole trip. It was SO MUCH fun, and was the perfect balance between scary and exciting.
- Do the hikes that your guide recommends! Robbie's advice never lead us astray and we loved all the walks we did.
- Star gazing in Mt Cook. A bunch of us just walked out to a random paddock and lay there and watched the most amazing stars. One of my favourite memories.
Overall the experience was incredible - I can't think of a single negative thing to say. We made some amazing friends and memories, and I'm so grateful that a company like this (smaller tour groups, locals running it etc) exists! Thanks Wild Kiwi for an amazing week.

I just finished up the 7 day Southern Voyager with an awesome group of people. We all felt welcome from the minute we jumped on the bus thanks to our amazing tour guide Robbie. There was a lot of driv…I just finished up the 7 day Southern Voyager with an awesome group of people. We all felt welcome from the minute we jumped on the bus thanks to our amazing tour guide Robbie. There was a lot of driving, but the scenery was so beautiful, the music was good, lots of fun chatting with the other people in our group, and I always felt safe even along the many hairpin bends!
Robbie was super organised giving us heaps of notice about activities and times for the following days, making sure we were all booked in to the activities we wanted, and organising dinners. His knowledge about everything New Zealand is second to none and we always went on amazing walks, ate yummy food and learned so much about the culture, history, wildlife and plant life of this beautiful country.
I would highly recommend the skydiving in Franz Josef - it is not that expensive, the views from up there are insane, and the whole experience was great.
Milford Sound was incredible - as was the drive through Fiordland.
In Queenstown we took full advantage - doing the canyon swing (do it!!!) And then I went and did a bungy jump (I would recommend doing the bridge or nevis, the ledge bungy gave me whiplash), then ended the day with a pub crawl. The accomodation here was great.
Driving through to Mount Cook was also stunning, I have some amazing pics. Mount Cook itself and the walk we did here was beautiful - we also stayed up to stargaze - highly recommend this!
There were so many great little stops along the way and I have so many amazing photos and memories to take away from this trip. I had so much fun and made some great friends.
Thank you Wild Kiwi for what was one of the best weeks of my life. I am sad to leave and cannot wait to come back!

There were always activities to do some which you have to pay for but if you didn't want to do those, than the tour guide would say other things you could do , mainly hikes or walks but with the scenery around you these Walks are beautiful ..
the accommodation we stayed in was great. You can rent a towel in almost all of them.
The transport is great, it's comfy, has wifi, USB ports , and is a great way to get chatting with your group:)

The views were spectacular everywhere we went, and even though the weather was bad a couple of days, Robbie always came up with suggestions for other activities we could do, meaning the whole week was pretty action packed. The accommodation was in nice hostels, most of them with en-suite bathrooms.. The hostel in Queenstown had an epic view of the lake from the kitchen! Being a solo traveller, doing this tour was the best way to explore the south island as we were taken to see the highlights and Robbie knew all the places to stop on the way for great photos and views, as well as being able to make lots of new friends.. Had the best experience and would highly recommend booking with WIld Kiwi!

I have just returned from the most fantastic time in beautiful New Zealand. Departing for the 24 Day New Zealand Discovery Tour on December 23rd 2017, little did I know what was ahead of me. From day …I have just returned from the most fantastic time in beautiful New Zealand. Departing for the 24 Day New Zealand Discovery Tour on December 23rd 2017, little did I know what was ahead of me. From day one, I was quickly immersed in the New Zealand culture, landscape and stories of its history and current stance on the environment, politics, social, economical and humanitarian pathways. This was all thanks to Robbie our wonderful guide. Starting as a group of 16 for the Northern Trail and ending as a group of 9 of us who completed the whole 24 Day Tour, Robbie was incredibly organised, highly energetic, always on point and patient (mostly with the playlists we forced him to listen to on our drives, along with our incredibly high end singing and professional harmonizing to such playlists). His knowledge of New Zealand is outstanding, including his answers for the random, insignificant little queries we threw his way (sometimes just to test him) as well as his 'typical' Kiwi humour which was refreshing. Robbie made the tour one of a kind and as I am someone who travels alone a lot of the time as I do not enjoy group tours, this was of great importance.
The tour itinerary has been well thought out and although I do wish we stayed multiple evenings at some locations as there was simply too much to do in one day, this gives me a great opportunity to return and continue to discover the delights of the places I felt a connection to...perhaps even as a part of another Wild Kiwi tour. If there was anything to 'complain' about it would be that there is a lot of driving as we did need to cover a huge amount of land in a short period of time however, these long drives also allowed us to stop off at little spots to stretch our legs and have the opportunity to check out little hidden gems of the country that I most certainly would have missed if I wasn't travelling with Wild Kiwi. They also gave us the time to get to know each other and get creative with conversations.
Most importantly, the people this tour attracted were the most wonderful travel companions. I think the target demographic that Wild Kiwi markets to is completely on point. I have met some incredibly fascinating characters who I will most certainly remain friends with for years to come. It was quite surprising to me how quickly we all bonded and although it was 24 days in each others pockets, I have left feeling like I've known most for a lifetime.
If you are an avid traveler who is a little skeptical about touring with a group of people, I would highly suggest you look into touring with Wild Kiwi. The small group numbers, organisation of the company keeping you updated with the tour planning and any changes to schedules as well as the personal approach taken by the company and guides makes everything a breeze. If you don't have time to plan a trip yourself but need to get away, Wild Kiwi are your go to for this. The planning was seamless and for the first time ever, I didn't have to stress about making time to plan a trip that I know I will love, it was done for me.
Thank you to Robbie and the Wild Kiwi crew for a fantastic adventure and for sharing your spectacular land with me. I'll be back!

The driver, Robbie, delivered outstanding knowledge and fun facts. He really takes care of every bodies needs and joins in like hes also on the trip. Robbie made everything very clear and easy to book trips or activities along the way so you can sit and enjoy the journey. Also we were all very impressed with all the accommodation and would highly recommend this luxury affordable way to travel the south. Don't forget the Canyon Swing!!!!

Robbie was an awesome guide and knew so many little secrets gems! Franz Josef and Milford Sound are definite highlights for me, especially with all the snow on the peaks.

Got some great insight into all the places we visited and drove by and always arrived and left on time. Did some life changing activities and we really got lucky with the weather but it sounded like there were plenty of great alternatives even if we weren’t so lucky. It’s crazy how much we managed to do and see within just a week. The tour bus was stellar and had all we needed, same goes for the accommodations. If you need a quick but effective way to see the South Island highlights in a week this is the way to do it. Just maybe bring a neck pillow : )

I felt like I really experienced many of the highlights of New Zealand - seeing beautiful places & trying adventurous activities. It was also fun to bong with my tour group!

He would try all he could to make us feel good during the eight day tour. Everyone loves him and wish to get his tour guide service again. The reason I gave four stars is because we had very bad experience with G Adventures. It took forever to get answers from the company and some requests such like airport transportation didn’t get response so we had no idea what would happen when we arrived Casablanca! The administrative service was too bad we would never want to deal with the company again! However, what Mos did really changed our mind about his company. He is the best tour guide we have ever had. BTW, we were a group of ten girls from the states, we had traveled a lot all over the world.

The itinerary was great, fast paced, but I didn't feel like I'd missed anything on the way. Learning to surf at Spot X, and sailing and snorkelling in the Whitsundays were highlights!
As a solo traveller the small group size was perfect. Made great friends (haven't laughed that much for ages), and the guides were excellent - very knowledgeable, helpful and good fun.
Of the optional activities, I did diving on the Barrier Reef and kayaking at Byron Bay - both were well worth doing.
Would definitely recommend both Wild Kiwi and this tour!

I loved the tour! I'm so glad that I went with Wild Kiwi. I loved the places that they chose. The ride was pretty nice and always clean and it was great to there was wifi. They're a nice amenity, esp when the weather is cold. I also liked how frequently we stopped for rest break/picture time. Due to the small group size, it makes it easy to get on and off the bus.
I highly recommend my tour guide Robbie. As we would get to the next place, Robbie would talk about the different activities there. He had done the activities before and could recommend one based on your needs. Robbie also had a lot of local knowledge about all the places so it was interesting hearing him talk about the origins/current news about each place. Robbie was also a great host too! He's easy to talk to and made us pancakes on the last day!
