I had an amazing tour experience in Saudi Arabia, especially in Jeddah. Naif was the best guide — professional, knowledgeable, and very friendly. He shared interesting insights about the culture, history, and local life, making every place more meaningful. Transfers were arranged for me to accommodate the schedule, which made the entire trip smooth and stress-free. Highly recommended!

Overall the tour was pretty good. The guides were excellent. My only issue was the Al Wateen Hotel in Al Ula which had no restaurant. We were dropped off around lunch time. The hotel staff were nice enough to order us a pizza. Travelers should be aware that the desert cities in Saudi Arabia are not well set up for tourists. Many things are closed until 4 pm. One day we were dropped off at a mall for lunch, but nothing was open until 1 pm.

Best tour companies for Saudi Arabia tours
Our travelers consistently give high marks to Explore's tours of Saudi Arabia. Their trips hit all the right notes - from wandering the ancient ruins of Hegra to experiencing the energy of Buraidah's camel market. Emmanuel, one of their guides, gets special mentions for really knowing his stuff and keeping everyone engaged even during longer travel days. The other solid choice is Saudi Arabia Tours. They've built a good reputation for running smooth trips, staying in touch with guests and taking care of the details. Their guides Roka and Aly come up often in feedback for going above and beyond. The company picks quality hotels and they make sure you try authentic local food - something our customers really value. While both operators include some lengthy drives between sites (it's Saudi Arabia after all), travelers say the comfortable transport and interesting stops along the way make the journeys feel worthwhile. The guides use travel time well, sharing cultural insights and stories that add context to what you're seeing. Even though Saudi tourism is relatively new, these companies have clearly figured out how to deliver reliable, enriching experiences. They manage the logistics well while making sure you get genuine cultural connections and historical understanding throughout the journey.
Best places to start your Saudi Arabia tour
Our Saudi tours typically kick off from Jeddah or Riyadh, with Jeddah being the starting point for 31 travelers and Riyadh close behind with 29 departures. We're seeing more people interested in starting from Dubai and also Medina, though not quite as many yet. Looking at what works best for our customers, booking about two months out (61 days) hits the sweet spot for getting the dates and hotels you want, especially when it's busy. The real magic happens between November and February - temperatures are just right for exploring archaeological sites and heading into the desert. Our travelers love this time of year because you can walk around comfortably during the day and then have these amazing desert evenings with stargazing and traditional Bedouin meals. The women who join our cultural tours tell us they feel completely at ease, and they particularly connect with our female guides who share both old traditions and modern perspectives on Saudi life.

- Winter 2025 / 2026
The winter months from November through February give you ideal temperatures for exploring Saudi Arabia. Our kingdom-wide routes take you from Riyadh, where old forts sit next to modern towers, all the way to AlUla's ancient Nabataean city of Hegra. The desert camps near Elephant Rock are a real highlight - you'll spend nights under incredibly clear winter skies perfect for stargazing. We've noticed women travelers especially love our cultural expeditions this time of year, where they connect with local families, join cooking sessions and visit female artisans in their workshops. The pleasant winter weather makes it much nicer to walk through historic areas like Jeddah's Al-Balad and also Diriyah's UNESCO heritage site.

- Summer 2026
Saudi Arabia offers well-designed summer tours that make the most of indoor cultural sites and evening activities to beat the midday heat. Starting from Jeddah or Riyadh, these routes take you through excellent climate-controlled spaces, like the National Museum in Riyadh and Al Taybat International City in Jeddah. Evening activities are particularly appealing, as you can watch Jeddah's illuminated fountain display or wander through Al-Balad's historic lanes once the sun sets and temperatures become pleasant. The itineraries cleverly incorporate modern malls during the hottest afternoon hours, giving you dining choices and cool spots between visits to cultural sites. Desert camps near AlUla come equipped with proper cooling systems, while guides schedule desert explorations for early morning or late afternoon when the climate is more manageable. The cultural element stays strong with indoor experiences, like sharing meals with local families, visiting artisan workshops and also exploring traditional crafts. Popular summer routes include boat rides along Jeddah's waterfront and evening strolls through Riyadh's City Boulevard, where water features and green spaces help create a more comfortable atmosphere.

What our customers ask about Saudi Arabia Tours & Trips
What Makes Saudi Arabia Different From Other Middle East Destinations?
Saudi Arabia's really special as the birthplace of Islam with Mecca and Medina right there at its heart. Unlike anywhere else in the Middle East you'll find these incredible untouched desert landscapes that show you what true Arabian culture is all about. It's fascinating how modern cities like Riyadh and Jeddah sit right next to ancient UNESCO sites - places like Hegra which you can see on the "Explore the Kingdom" tour and Diriyah that's part of the Women's Expedition tour.
What Are Some Hidden Gems Worth Visiting in Saudi Arabia?
There's this amazing place called Ushaiqer Heritage Village where people still live in traditional mud-brick houses it's a fantastic stop on tours like "Explore the Kingdom" and "Saudi Arabia the desert jewel". Then you've got Jubbah an oasis with incredible rock art from 5500BC and Thee Ain this beautiful 600-year-old marble village up in the mountains that's part of the Kingdom tour the architecture there is just incredible.
What Local Cultural Experiences Can Visitors Join In With?
You can have dinner with a local family in Medina which is such a special experience and really helps you connect with Saudi culture. The world's largest camel market in Buraydah is absolutely fascinating and features on both the Kingdom tour and Women's Expedition. And if you're interested in food you can learn to cook traditional Najd dishes in Buraydah during the Women's Expedition it's a really hands-on way to experience the culture.
Where Are the Best Natural Areas to Visit Outside the Cities?
Wadi Al Disah near Tabuk is just stunning with these amazing palm trees surrounded by towering sandstone cliffs you can explore it on the Women's Expedition. Then there's Jebel Fihrayn known as the Edge of the World with these dramatic cliffs looking out over an ancient ocean bed you'll need a 4x4 to get there but it's worth it and it's included in the 8-day Riyadh and Jeddah tour. The sand dunes of Nefud Al Kabir are incredible too really showing off the raw beauty of the Saudi desert.
