10-Day Vienna Budapest Prague Tour Packages
Imagine visiting the three most beautiful capitals in Central Europe. Vienna has imperial palaces, a coffee house culture, and a long history of classical music. Budapest has Buda Castle; on the Pest side, it has Parliament; in the Jewish Quarter, it has thermal baths and ruin bars. Charles Bridge, Prague Castle, the astronomical clock in Old Town Square, and cheap beer are all things to see in Prague. The cities have a shared history with Austria-Hungary, but they feel different.

It's an easy 10-minute walk to the Egon Schiele Museum which showcases the famous local artist's work.

- Day 3
Bratislava, Slovakia (7 AM-5 PM)
You can easily explore the historic center on your own. Get to Bratislava Castle right when it opens at 9 AM to avoid the crowds. A complete walk through the old town takes about 2 hours. Look out for the fun bronze statues around town - the "Man at Work" peeking out of a manhole is a local favorite.

- Days 4-5

You'll have two full days to see both sides of the Danube. Visit Buda Castle and Fisherman's Bastion before 10 AM when it's less busy. Take the historic funicular up Castle Hill for €4 instead of walking the steep path. Make sure you're on deck around 9 PM to see and photograph the lit-up Parliament building while cruising.

- Days 1-3
Prague, Czech Republic
Start your Central Europe trip in Prague, the "City of a Hundred Spires." Begin in the city center where you can settle into your hotel. "Prague was the highlight of our trip" is a common sentiment among visitors. Your second day should begin with a walking tour of Old Town Square. Get to the Astronomical Clock by 9 AM before the crowds show up. Later you can explore Charles Bridge and Kampa Island. Book your stay near Wenceslas Square if you want easy access to public transport and walking routes to major sites. The Lesser Town area below Prague Castle offers great local pubs and restaurants but be ready for steep hills. You'll definitely need comfortable walking shoes.

- Days 4-6
Vienna, Austria
Take a 4-hour train from Prague to Vienna. Trains run regularly between 6 AM and 8 PM. Vienna's imperial grandeur is best experienced through a Ringstrasse tour. Include skip-the-line access to Schönbrunn Palace to save yourself from long wait times. "Vienna's subway system is incredibly efficient," according to one visitor. A 72-hour transit pass costs €17 and the U1 line takes you to most major sites. If you want to catch a classical music performance, book your tickets at least 2 days ahead through the Musikverein website.

- Days 7-10
Budapest, Hungary
A 2.5-hour train ride takes you from Vienna to Budapest. Start by exploring both the Buda (Castle District) and Pest areas with a guide. One experienced visitor suggests: "Visit the Széchenyi Baths early - by 10 AM it gets very crowded. Bring flip-flops and a swim cap (required)." The best place to stay is District V near the Parliament. You'll be within walking distance of major attractions. The hop-on-hop-off boat on the Danube is a practical way to see the city and reach key sites.

What people love about 10-day Vienna Budapest Prague tours
- Imperial Splendors
Great trip. Guide was excellent. Viewing of a number of historic cathedrals, Prague Castle, boat tours, etc. Only downside is hotels are well stocked with small Ikea furniture. Most hotels we had to push the beds together. Best hotel was Continental in Budapest. I only gave meals 4 stars because I didn't like the goulash in Hungary.
- Prague, Vienna & Budapest
It was an amazing trip, very well organized I did not face any issues but I feel the cost was way too high
- Prague, Vienna and Budapest (All Summer And 26/27 Winter Onwards)
This was an amazing trip to a fascinating part of the world. Thanks to Carolyn who was a wonderful tour director, experienced with Trafalgar, knew the areas of the tour well, very helpful, fun to travel with her. Thanks to our great driver, Zoltan, for taking us safely through our days on the road. The local guides were terrific, their knowledge of their home cities seemed never ending. My second tour with Trafalgar and recommend them to all travellers.
