This trip was planned really well no rush, no stress. Our driver knew the area well and always knew where to stop for good views. The hotel in Periyar had a forest feel very peaceful. The houseboat was basic but charming. And Kumarakom was all about quiet walks by the lake. This is the trip you take when you want to slow down and breathe.

We had a really excellent time. Our driver was wonderful - very personable and helpful, as well as being a really good and safe driver who did NOT use his phone while driving (very unusual these days). The hotels were all lovely and we really enjoyed the houseboat.
