Guides were excellent, always on time and ready to answer our questions. The hotels were comfortable standard, and the heritage hotels added a unique charm to the Rajasthan leg. Our driver was punctual and careful, which helped with the long drives. Great memorable experiences.

Our journey through Mumbai and central India was an outstanding experience, blending vibrant city life with remarkable history and culture. In Mumbai we explored highlights such as the iconic Gateway of India, the sweeping waterfront of Marine Drive, and the magnificent Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus. A visit to Dhobi Ghat offered a fascinating glimpse into daily life, while the cruise to the ancient Elephanta Caves was a real highlight. Travelling onward through Nashik, Aurangabad, Burhanpur, Maheshwar and Indore, each stop revealed something unique—from wine tasting in Nashik and the sacred Trimbakeshwar Temple to the spectacular UNESCO sites of the Ellora Caves and Ajanta Caves. Historic forts such as Daulatabad Fort and Asirgarh Fort, along with the beautiful Maheshwar Fort and the atmospheric ruins of Mandu, made the journey incredibly rewarding. The trip finished with a visit to the sacred Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain, providing a memorable conclusion to a beautifully organised and unforgettable itinerary.

Best time to visit Western India
- Spring 2026
Spring keeps similar tour patterns going, with cave-temples still drawing visitors while temperatures stay pleasant. From Aurangabad, you can really dig into Buddhist history at Ajanta Caves - our travelers like getting photos of the detailed murals showing Buddha's life. Tours linking Mumbai with Aurangabad give you a mix of city life and ancient artwork. Goa's colonial tours work well in spring too - it's comfortable for walking through Old Goa's churches and spending time in the Solar Souto Maior mansion from 1585 with all its artifacts.

- Summer 2026
Summer shifts activities to early morning and evening in Western India. The archaeological tours adapt - you'll see Ellora Caves during cooler hours, then move to air-conditioned museums and temples when it heats up. From Ahmedabad, the Western India route includes stops at ancient sites like Lothal where you can examine prehistoric urban design. Our guides plan the outdoor visits carefully so you stay comfortable while exploring these historical places.

- Fall / Autumn 2026
Autumn kicks off the main touring season in Western India. Gujarat's wildlife tours really shine now - conditions are just right for jeep safaris in Gir National Park to spot Asiatic lions. Our travelers love how the days mix nature and culture - you might start watching flamingos and cranes in the Little Rann of Kutch, then explore Ahmedabad's Calico Museum with its textile displays. Goa's weather turns perfect for mixing beach visits with cultural stops, and our guides know the best times for walking Old Goa's heritage areas and also exploring markets.

- Winter 2026 / 2027
Winter's cool weather makes it perfect for exploring Western India's cultural sites. Our most sought-after tours focus on Maharashtra's cave complexes. You can really take your time at Ajanta and Ellora during these months - the mild temperatures let you climb between cave levels while studying the Buddhist art and rock-cut temples. Our customers often mention how much they appreciate the guides who walk them through each carving and painting's history. From our Mumbai base, tours combine Elephanta Caves with city spots like the Gateway of India and Dhobi Ghat. Goa works nicely in winter too - you'll walk Portuguese colonial streets, check out the Museum of Christian Art and explore the Menezes Braganza house with its old furniture and book collections.
