Best time to visit Mallorca
- Winter 2025 / 2026
Winter in Mallorca is mild. Visit the quiet, uncrowded beaches and the Serra de Tramuntana for peaceful hikes.
- February 2026 popular 29 tours
- Spring 2026
Spring in Mallorca hits that sweet spot for cycling and walking tours. The Serra de Tramuntana trails really come alive March through May - our travelers often tell us about watching nightingales and cuckoos while walking those old stone paths. We keep the guided walking groups small, just 12-16 people, which works perfectly on mountain trails. The routes take you along gems like the Postman's Trail from Palma to Banyalbufar, and you'll stop at local spots like Mesón La Villa where everyone raves about the suckling pig. Spring's also ideal for e-bike tours through olive groves and past traditional windmills to places like Caimari, Pollença and other villages. The guides know all the best local farms for fresh orange juice breaks.

- Summer 2026
Summer's perfect for exploring Mallorca's caves and coastal spots. Our self-drive tours let you dodge the heat by hitting places like the Caves of Drach early, then spending afternoons finding quiet coves and beaches. The road cycling routes make good use of those long summer days, taking you from Ca'n Pastilla along Bahía de Palma and into rural areas. Cyclists particularly enjoy mixing challenging climbs up to Santuari de Cura with cooling stops at beaches like Es Trenc. The guided cycling tours include well-planned restaurant breaks and good support on those monastery and lighthouse climbs, plus boat transfers that offer nice breaks when it's hot.

- Fall / Autumn 2026
Fall brings ideal temperatures for active tours in Mallorca. September through November is when walking tours really shine - our customers love how the trails are less busy and the Mediterranean views are clearer. You'll follow old pilgrim paths to Lluc Monastery, where groups often catch the evening choir performances. The cycling's particularly good in autumn too, with routes mixing coastal rides past golden beaches with trips through the wine region near Binissalem. Our guides time things perfectly to catch local markets in Petra, Alcúdia and other towns where you can sample seasonal foods and Mallorcan specialties. Self-guided options are great for taking your time in artistic villages like Valldemossa and Deià once the summer crowds have left. From what our travelers tell us, both companies handle Italian tours well but in different ways. Terranova really excels with their E-bike setup - the guides are solid professionals and the whole operation runs smoothly. The E-bikes make exploring much more manageable, especially on those longer routes through hilly areas. Explore has built up a good reputation for their hiking programs and most of our clients speak highly of their tour leaders who clearly know the regions, local culture and hidden spots really well. But there's a practical point worth mentioning: some travelers found the hiking more challenging than they expected. While the trip descriptions mention difficulty levels, it's better to be on the conservative side with your fitness estimates - the Italian sun and steep trails can make moderate hikes feel quite demanding. If you're trying to choose between them, think about your preferred activity level and pace. Terranova's E-bike approach lets you cover more ground with less effort, while Explore offers that satisfying hiking experience but requires good stamina and comfortable walking shoes. Those who've gone with either company generally come back happy with their choice.

How Do You Get Around Mallorca Most Easily?
You've got quite a few ways to explore Mallorca and each has its charm. Renting a car gives you total freedom to discover those hidden beaches and mountain villages at your own pace. The public buses are actually really reliable especially if you're sticking to popular routes like Palma to Playa de Palma. For something special hop on the wooden tram in Sóller it's this beautiful historic ride through the Tramuntana mountains that takes you from Sóller right down to the port. E-bikes are becoming a favorite here and it makes total sense - you get to enjoy the gorgeous landscapes without struggling on those hills. Our Mediterranean Island e-bike tour takes you through all the best bits including Palma's old town the Randa monastery and historic Pollensa.

If you're on our "Mallorca mit Charme" bike tour you'll get to have this amazing lunch in Petra's village square which gives you a real taste of local life. Don't miss the evening choir at Santuari de Lluc monastery it's this incredible cultural experience that most tourists never get to see.
Where Are the Hidden Gems Away from Palma?
You've got to check out the old postal route "Cami des Correu" between Valldemossa and Esporles it's incredible hardly anyone knows about it and you'll see these amazing old olive terraces with beautiful sea views. The "Dry Stone Route" near Sóller is another hidden treasure showing off traditional stonework that's really unique to Mallorca. Then there's Cabrera this untouched island you can reach by boat it's a protected area where native birds thrive and it feels like stepping back in time.
