3 Day Jordan Itinerary, incl. Petra and Wadi Rum
A 3-day Jordan expedition takes you to 7 key destinations: Amman's Citadel, Jerash's Roman ruins, Petra's Treasury, Wadi Rum's desert, Mount Nebo's viewpoints, Madaba's mosaics, and Dead Sea's shores. Includes 2 hotel nights and authentic Bedouin camping.

- Day 1
Amman, Jerash, and Transfer to Petra
Start your day at 8 AM with breakfast in Amman before visiting the Citadel on one of the city's highest points. Explore the local markets in downtown "Al-Balad" and see the impressive Roman theater from 106 AD. Take a 45-minute drive north to Jerash to explore its well-preserved Roman ruins. If you're lucky, you might catch one of the historical gladiator fight shows. After a 3-hour drive south you'll reach Petra. You can join the Petra by Night show (runs Monday, Wednesday, Thursday for $24) but book ahead as spots fill up quickly.

- Day 2
Petra and Wadi Rum Desert Experience
Get to Petra by 6:30 AM to avoid crowds and heat. You can walk or take a horse ride through the Siq canyon to reach the Treasury. While the Treasury is the most photographed spot you'll need 4-5 hours to properly explore the whole site. Make sure to wear sturdy shoes with good grip since the ancient stone steps can be slippery. After lunch head to Wadi Rum for a 2-hour sunset jeep tour through red canyons and dunes. Spend the night in a Bedouin camp under the stars but pack warm clothes since desert nights get cold.

- Day 3
Mount Nebo, Madaba, and Dead Sea
After breakfast take the 4-hour drive to Mount Nebo where you'll get sweeping views of the Jordan Valley and Jerusalem hills. Visit nearby Madaba to see the famous 6th-century mosaic map in St. George's Church. Plan to reach the Dead Sea by early afternoon when the weather is best. Remember not to shave that morning keep salt water away from your eyes and limit your float time to 15 minutes. The drive back to Amman takes about an hour but traffic can add extra time during rush hour.

3 Days in Jordan, incl. Petra and Wadi Rum
Ancient meets wilderness in this Jordan adventure with 2 full days in Petra exploring the Treasury and Royal Tombs, plus a 4-5 hour 4x4 tour through Wadi Rum visiting Lawrence Spring and Khazali Canyon. Covers three major destinations: Petra, Wadi Rum, and Aqaba, with comfortable hotel and camp stays.

- Day 1
Aqaba to Wadi Rum Desert Adventure
Leave Aqaba early for the one-hour drive to Wadi Rum. Your 4x4 desert tour starts around 9 AM and lasts 4-5 hours. You'll visit key spots like Lawrence Spring and the Nabatean Temple. Pack sturdy shoes if you want to climb the rock formations. "Mohammad our desert driver knows the spots and how to have fun with us! The desert sunset was spectacular and the views of the Milky Way in the dark sky were incredible." Even in summer the desert gets cold at night so bring warm layers for your overnight camp stay.

- Day 2
Wadi Rum to Petra
Start your day with a desert sunrise before driving 1.5 hours to Petra on the Kings Highway. Take a 2.5-hour guided tour through the Siq to see the Treasury, Street of Facades and Royal Tombs. "Our guide Sami spoke great English and gave a really interesting/entertaining private tour. He also gave us advice on what to do on day 2 in Petra." Get to the site before 9 AM when the Siq is cooler and less crowded. The main trail takes about 3-4 hours round trip at a relaxed pace.

- Day 3
Second Day in Petra and Return to Aqaba
Use your second day in Petra ($7 extra entrance fee) to explore the quieter areas. Take shuttles to Little Petra and hike to the Monastery to avoid the crowds. "The hike in the mountains back towards the main part of Petra was probably the highlight - it got us away from the crowds." The canyon is chilly in morning shadows so wear layers. Plan your 2.5-hour return drive to Aqaba based on your travel plans.

3 Days in Jordan, incl. Dead Sea and Petra
From city to sea, visit four major sites: Amman, Dead Sea resorts, UNESCO-listed Petra, and Wadi Rum desert. Features 2.5-hour Petra tours, 4-hour desert expeditions, and authentic Bedouin camping, all connected by comfortable private transfers.

- Day 1
Amman to Dead Sea to Petra
Try to arrive at Queen Alia Airport in Amman in the morning to make the most of your day. The drive to the Dead Sea takes about an hour through desert scenery. Get to the Dead Sea before the midday heat kicks in. One traveler shared: "Bring water shoes as the salt crystals on the shore can be sharp, and don't forget to pack a hat - there's very little shade at the beach." Spend about 15-20 minutes floating in the mineral-rich waters to avoid skin irritation. Have lunch at one of the resorts before starting the 3-hour drive to Petra. The road goes through mountains, so take motion sickness pills and sit in the front if you get carsick. You'll reach Petra in the evening with time to rest for the next day.

- Day 2
Petra to Wadi Rum
Get to Petra when it opens (6:00 AM in summer, 7:00 AM in winter) to avoid crowds and heat. You'll walk about 30 minutes through the Siq to reach the Treasury. A recent visitor noted: "Having an academic guide made all the difference - they explained details about the water systems and architecture I would have missed completely." The main trail takes about 2.5 hours with a guide. Wear good shoes since the stones are slippery. If you want to see the Monastery, start climbing the 850 steps before noon. You can take a camel ride back ($21) when your legs are tired. Drive 1.5 hours to Wadi Rum for your desert night. Pack warm clothes since nights get cold. Your evening includes a traditional Bedouin BBQ under the stars.

- Day 3
Wadi Rum to Amman
Get up early for a stunning desert sunrise. Your 4-hour jeep tour starts around 7:00 AM visiting Lawrence Spring and natural rock bridges. The morning light makes for great photos. One traveler suggested: "Bring a scarf to protect from sand, and don't forget sunscreen - the desert sun is intense even in winter." The drive back to Amman takes about 4 hours. Tours usually end around 4:00 PM but talk to your driver if you need to adjust for your flight time.

What people love about 3-day Jordan tours
- Explore The Lost City of Petra & Wadi Rum
I created a custom 3 day solo traveler tour for Jordan and was able to see everything I wanted to visit. Adnan was a king as a driver and chaperone who didn't just drive me from place to place but also helped secure excellent guides for the tourist site, gave useful instructions on visiting the areas (such as what to avoid), was punctual in his timing, and looked after me to ensure I had no issues during the trip. It was an immeasurable relief that he spoke my language with functional effectiveness. Khalid was also an excellent customer representative in ensuring I was able to do the activities I wanted to do and that I had no issues during the tour. Even though I decided to cancel an activity a few hours short of the scheduled time, Khalid was generous to offer a refund at my request. For those wishing to use this operator, you should know that the package price comes with transportation and lounging. If I had any issues with the experience, it would only be that the price for the trip did not come with entrance fees for the sites I visited, but that is all. It did not in the slightest affect how I felt visiting the places I wanted to see nor diminish the experience. Transportation was in a Hyundai Hybrid Sedan and lounging was in 4+ star hotels. This was my first time in Jordan and my finest. I can say with certainty that tourists will not be disappointed with this operator!
- Wadi Rum and Petra Tour for 03 Days - 02 Nights from Aqaba City (AQ-JHT-007)
We had an amazing time with this operator with Jordan HorizonTours. They are the best in terms of being organized and we had very respectful driver who took us on the tour. The sights are magical and hotels were equally good. I highly recommend them for excellent experiences.
- Dead Sea, Petra & Wadi Rum Tour 03 Days - 02 Nights (CT-JHT-004)
Everything was according to planning.
