India and Nepal Safari Tours

The tour itself was good. Appreciate the home stay and G caring about locals and the environment. Lodging at Varanasi was meh, motel 6 blow them out of the water. Lumbini hotel was good. Homestay room was large and clean. Everywhere else was fine, but don’t expect too much. I had hot water for shower about every other day. (Even at same hotels). Think others in my group experienced the same. I knew all this ahead of time by reading reviews so I was fine. Communication regarding the tour ahead of time was horrendous. I seriously wanted to cancel if I had other options and won’t loose out on my money. It was extremely frustrating when i get different answers to my questions or not get any clear answers. Itinerary is unclear about when the optional tours would happen or gets integrated into the standing tours. Was told different answers if I picked a flight option vs drive. Was told I will have to skip a point of attraction if I flew, but others told me it’ll be fine, and still another told I’ll have to figure things out off the side with the CEO once I’m here. Most of the optional tours price increased once the tour started. Went back and forth multiple times about price of airport transport, is it $7.5? $15? $30? I ended up opting out and used ride share that cost me $6 (Varanasi airport to lodging) and $2 (hotel to Kathmandu airport). If you’re easy going and doesn’t care much about the details or logistics ahead of time or cost, you’ll be fine. But if you’re like me and likes everything set and planned ahead of time you’ll have a hard time with their substandard communication process.
