This 185-mile ride kicks off with a ferry from Oban to Castlebay on the Isle of Barra, where you'll start at Vatersay's obelisk and work your way north through The Hebrides. You'll cycle the scenic west coast route to see the 5,000-year-old Callanish Standing Stones on the Isle of Lewis, then push on to the Butt of Lewis lighthouse at Scotland's northern tip. The route connects Eriskay, South Uist, Benbecula, and North Uist via causeways, with an 80-minute ferry to Leverburgh on the Sound of Harris. You'll stay in guesthouses and hotels across eight islands, including nights in Tarbert and Stornoway, before catching the ferry back to Ullapool and transferring to Inverness.
