Mr Hoang Minh and our Guide Vinh our guide were both professional and catered for all our requirements. Vietnam Motorbike Tour on Ho Chi Minh trails From Hanoi to Saigon via Central HighlandsTotally worth the experience, the owner Bhagwat is so nice, helpful, understanding and many other nice words that can describe him. But, please be careful on the road because the roads can be very dangerous during the night. One more thing i would like to say, ask for Gopal to be your tour guide, he is the most patience man i ever seen, very nice, very awesome, very understanding and very friendly.

What our customers ask about Asia Self Drive Tours
What are the most scenic Self Drive routes in Asia?
The roads of Asia offer remarkable driving experiences across varied terrains. The 70km mountain route through Wadi Bani Auf in Oman leads travelers to the hidden oasis of Bilad Sayt. The path to Jebel Shams which stands at 3000m reveals Oman's version of the Grand Canyon below. In Jordan the desert road connecting Dana to Petra gives drivers a true sense of the region's stark beauty. Travelers often use the Sahab Resort & Spa in Jebel Akhdar as their starting point for mountain explorations. A TourRadar traveler described it well: "The drive through Wadi Bani Auf was challenging but rewarding with spectacular views of ancient villages and dramatic cliffs at every turn."
What accommodation types can I expect on an Asian Self Drive tour?
The lodging options span from high-end hotels to local guesthouses. In Oman the Shell Beach Resort in Muscat offers modern comfort while Thailand's Rodon Hotel in the Troodos Mountains provides a more local experience. A TourRadar traveler noted: "The mix of accommodation was perfect - from the luxurious Palm Galleria Resort in Khao Lak to authentic guesthouses in smaller towns each offering unique local experiences."
What's included in a typical Self Drive tour package in Asia?
Self Drive packages in Asia typically cover car rental with insurance pre-arranged hotels GPS navigation systems and breakfast. UAE tours often add airport transfers stays at properties like Hampton by Hilton Dubai and unlimited driving miles. Many packages include passes to local attractions and 24-hour support services. According to one TourRadar traveler: "Everything was well-organized from the moment we landed - from car pickup to hotel bookings at places like the Royal M Hotel in Fujairah."
When is the best time for a Self Drive tour in Asia's Middle East region?
The Middle East welcomes drivers at different times throughout the year. Oman's roads are best explored from October through March when mild weather makes mountain driving on routes like Jebel Akhdar more pleasant. Jordan's desert areas including Wadi Rum are most accessible in spring from March to May. The Golden Tulip Nizwa serves as a reliable base during peak season. A TourRadar traveler shared: "Visiting Jebel Akhdar in March was perfect timing as we got to see the famous rose blooms while enjoying comfortable driving temperatures around 20-25°C."
What types of vehicles are available for Self Drive tours in Asia?
Vehicle options range from city cars to off-road capable SUVs. Thailand's Drive Car Rental provides models like the Nissan Almera 1.0 Turbo and Honda City for urban routes. Oman's rental fleets feature sturdy 4x4s such as Toyota Landcruisers and Nissan Pathfinders built for desert terrain. As one TourRadar traveler noted: "The car rental company exchanged our initial vehicle for a fairly new Toyota without problems which handled the terrain perfectly."
What driving license requirements are needed for Self Drive tours in Asia?
Drivers need a valid international license that's been active for at least one year. Oman requires drivers to be 21 or older to rent vehicles including popular choices like the Nissan Pathfinder. Thai rental companies such as Drive Car Rental ask for both an international permit and your home license. A TourRadar traveler shared: "Making sure to have proper documentation was essential - the rental process at Muscat Airport was smooth with all the right paperwork."
