Chan was exceptional as our CEO. He spoke fluent english and imparted so much local knowledge. He organised alternative trips or re-organised trips to make best use of the time. He enhanced the whole experience

I made new friends from different parts of the world, had a bomb CEO, learnt a lot about a country I knew very little about, traveled way further than I would hav…I had a lovely experience on my trip. I made new friends from different parts of the world, had a bomb CEO, learnt a lot about a country I knew very little about, traveled way further than I would have and tasted the best food. Vietnamese food is definitely a favourite now. I feel highly blessed and grateful that I had this experience.

I can't rate Chan highly enough. He made the trip for me and I would consider him one of my good mates. He was smiling and happy the entire time no matter the hour of the day and made the trip an absolute blast.

Chan single-handedly made the trip what it was. Beginning with his deep-rooted understanding of the area we were travelling in, along with his extremely fluent English and continually happy behaviour. I consider myself extremely lucky to have been given Chan as my guide through the whole 20-day tour, as I don't believe I would have gotten the same experience with another guide. His communication over WhatsApp with the group was incredible, whether it was organising our plans for the day or making recommendations of sights and restaurants around the town. Not only this, but he also took part in the activities - he didn't simply do just what he was told to do by G Adventures, he went well above and beyond everything that needed to be done. I've learned so much about the history and current state of these South-East Asian countries we visited because of Chan. I wish him all the best for the future and cannot find a fault in his performance during this trip. Incredible guy.

With this being my first time travelling Asia and joining the tour group late I was a bit anxious at first but from the first moment to the last Chan went above and beyond to make sure you feel part of a family as he introduces you and gives you a very well thought and descriptive insight to his home nation
A guy I would highly recommend to anybody thinking about travelling the same way We did and also someone I would hope is giving the opportunity to explore and bring a group of people across other nations

If you needed anything at all he’d be there to help, I even commented that it surprised me that he managed to stay so happy and energetic throughout the whole trip to which he replied he loves his job.He is a fabulous asset to g adventures and such a pleasure to be around!!

A great mix of history, culture and cuisine. Cambodia was an adventure of the lifetime and I made life long friends in the process.

I have to say that I like what G Adventures is doing. First, they care about sustainability of tourism. As an example, they have a Plannetara Program which help the local people and supporting their c…I have to say that I like what G Adventures is doing. First, they care about sustainability of tourism. As an example, they have a Plannetara Program which help the local people and supporting their communities. On our trip, we went to the restaurant of New Hope School. Instead of giving them the money, G Adventures support them by taking tourist to eat at their restaurant.
They have awesome people. The people whom I booked the tour with was very helpful. Meanwhile, Chan was our tour leader. He was superb . He was very knowledgeable, Sharing his own story as well as the history of the area. Beside his enthusiasm, he was a problem solver. Chan made the problem as the opportunity! Awesome. Our Van got flat tyre; however, he took as to a village and playing football with the children. We even saw more thing in the village. By the time we didn't want to leave the village until the driver called us back.
Can't wait to have another trip soon with G Adventures

However, Chan had a friend, who was the tour leader from G Adventures too, had 15 people in their group.Even though we didn't share the same bus, we always met each other at where we went on the tour. We had made friends and had a lot of fun. I always recommend G Adventures to friends. Love Chan

He had great suggestions for different trips available & would reorganise things to suit us. Fluent English speaking. He is a great leader in term of management while his English is excellent. He has a great knowledge. He knows what he is doing and he loves what he's doing.

When you arrive in Hanoi, make sure you have a small bag for the overnight trip to Halong Bay as you will not be taking your big rucksack or suitcase. Halong Bay was simply beautiful and the boat provided lovely food and hospitality.
The overnight train from Hanoi to Hue was quite the experience !
The hotel in Hue was the highlight hotel, it was four stars and the rooms were lovely. The rest of the accommodation on the trip was not very nice. In particular Hanoi and Phnom Penh were quite bad. G Adventures can do better on the accommodation front.
Hoi An was a lovely place and the tailors were mostly very good. The prices are higher now so you will be paying around 90-110 dollars for an evening dress. Avoid Win tailors like the plague.
When it rains in Vietnam, or Cambodia, the stone structures you will be visiting will become very slippery so please do take care. Even those in trainers were slipping.
Chan would offer us to go out for meals as a group or we could do our own thing. Most of the restaurants chosen by Chan were great but the farewell and welcome dinner restaurant in Ho Chi Minh was not very nice at all. The food was below par. All the G adventures groups were there so there must be an arrangement with that restaurant.
Cambodia was simply breathtaking. The prison and killing fields are a must see. Siam Reap is lovely and the temples are just phenomenal.
There are some long travel days included in this tour on buses which often have bad suspension and no seatbelts.
If you want to do this tour, unless you particularly want to go to Bangkok, please consider ending the tour in Siam Reap and then flying out from there.
The floating village tour in Cambodia is a must and at the moment is only an optional activity and only if enough of the group want to do it. It should be part of the itinerary.

Some parts lack hot water or even a shower, bring bug spray, and an open mind without setting your expectations too high so you’ll be able to enjoy your time with fun CEO like Chan.

He is very well informed and always more than willing to help out and go the extra mile.
Nothing is too much trouble for him, and always with a smile ( and often a song).
Overall, one of the best holidays we have had.

Chan, our CEO was beyond excellent , led our group knowledgeably with humour , sensitivity & compassion. Nothing was too hard for him to organise & his organisation was impeccable. This tour was pretty full on & I recommend it to anyone who enjoys travelling in the SE Asia region.
