Every day was packed with things to do and all the food was amazing. Would always highly recommend One Life Adventure tours for promoting sustainable travelling, having water refill stations everywhere we went meant that we could reduce our plastic waste. Our tour leader Michael was great and made the tour so much fun, thanks for the good times fam!

I have been a bit obsessed with Japan for as long as I can remember so the place had a lot to live up to. From the moment we arrived in Tokyo to when I left in Osaka, Japan completely blew my mind. Jack was unbelievable with such love for what he does it was infectious. I did the 14 day tour which ended up only being a small handful of people and I'm sooooo glad I did. It's hard to point to one thing on the tour which stood out the most because there was just so much. Some huge things for me were all the shrines in Kyoto, the kendo class, and walking through the ancient cemetery in the forest of Koyasan. It was so magical that I felt like I was in a movie or something. Being able to go back to the temple, eat food in a little private room and then fall asleep listening to the sounds of the surrounding forest was truely special. If you are thinking about doing Japan with Onelife then do the longer tour if you can, you won't regret it

Great tour, arrived at popular tourist attractions at perfect times to avoid the crowds. Good balance of free time to explore. Definitely would recommend exploring Japan through One Life Adventures.

We just finished an amazingly varied 14-day tour of Japan. It was a combination of the 10-day + 4-day extension. Our guide Jack was brilliant: full of enthusiasm, working all hours to make sure everyone had a good time and able to herd everyone effectively so everything ran smoothly.
Itinerary: Fast paced and varied. The 10-day component was with the large group (20-people), it filled the days without feeling boxed in twith activities or having empty days. You really do get to see a wide variety of what japan has to offer: big city and small towns. Our guide Jack, was able to get us up early to beat the rush of tourists in the more popular spots.
The 4-day extension really added value: The temples and deers of Nara, the beauty and tranquility of a temple stay in Koya-san, the history of Hiroshima and views on Miyajima Island. These were quite different to the previous 10-days and well worth it. One lowlight here was the museum at Hiroshima, it was during school trip season and was so packed you couldn’t really see much (it was perhaps the only disappointment in the entire 2 weeks).
Value for money: Could you do it yourself cheaper? Possibly. Would you be able to cram in and discover all the spots yourself? Unlikely. Compared to the other options, I looked at it was definitely good value, without aggressive cross-selling of add-ons.
Accommodation: The accommodation was decent and in good locations. The temple stays on tatami mats were magical.
Highlights: Almost too many to mention! The atmosphere of the rugby world cup. The street parties during Halloween. The thousands of instagrammable Red Tori Gates in Kyoto. Kendo lesson (combined with explanation of Japanese warrior code). Sushi making. The beauty and tranquility of the Koya-san cemetery. The craziness of Robot Restaurant and bizarre cuteness of the maid cafe. Perhaps most of all, the hospitality, quirkiness, respect and charm of the Japanese people.

(My bag weighed 11kgs and I still didn't wear everything!)
Jack was the icing on the cake - his exceptional leadership skills, his organisation and people-skills enhanced the whole trip. One Life is an amazing company who include more activities/meals than any other small-group adventure company that I have ever been with before.

The past 10 days on tour have been life changing for me. I’ve loved every moment, met some fantastic people, became good friends and saw the most amazing places I’ve ever seen in my life!
Our tour guide Jack was the main reason why this tour was so amazing! He crafted this tour to be the best it can be and IT IS THE BEST!
Everything he did, his advice, his tips, his help, his care, his banter made everything all go so smoothly. It didn’t feel like you were guided round by a tour guide paid by the hour it felt like you were being shown the best spots by a good mate!
I could go on and on about how good and amazing this tour was etc but really trust me, if you want to visit Japan and see as much of it as possible in 10 days this is the tour you want to do!!!

Jack made all necessary measures between keeping us safe as well as keeping us smiling whilst stuck indoors missing out on a couple of planned outdoor activities on this day.
Absolutely would recommended this tour for the solo and coupled travellers and found it a really efficient way to see japan, learn the customs and navigate the country that would have proved very difficult without the wisdom of Jack !

Wow! Japan is a beautiful place and this tour shows the difference between rural and city life. Activities are so much fun and a lot of moving around so you’re never bored. I had a very great time with the group tour. The programme varied from nature and culture to karaoke and sport. Besides, I saw and hear a lot of things what I couldn't do by myself.
This is was my first tour and it was Amazing!!!!. So much so that I feel I've caught the travel bug

We booked a train back to Tokyo, all fine except it would be nice to have been able to decide the time (ours was early and the 4hour train which was not fun after the karaoke)

Secondly, the location of each of the accommodation choices was great - within walking distance of what you want to see and close to public transport for things that would be a bit far on foot. The hostels and guesthouses were clean and comfortable as well, personally I found the one in Kyoto the most average but when you’re out exploring, it doesn’t really matter when it’s somewhere to keep your stuff and sleep.
The included activities were cool, my personal favourite was the cooking class :) as well as that, the Dotombori street food walking tour was a great way to experience good quality local bites.
The free time given was adequate to go out and try other amazing food that Japan has to offer, aside from the included meals (eg shabu shabu and Jack’s amazing bacon and eggs home-cooked breakfasts) as well as check out anything missed in the itinerary - although the itinerary covers a whole lot anyway!
This trip is great value for money compared to other trips that have a similar itinerary, would 100% recommend for anyone’s first time to Japan :)

We had a fantastic time in Japan. Loved all the included activities such as the sushi-making class and the kendo class. The temple stay in Takayama was also a big highlight of the trip.

Everyone on the trip was so friendly and Jack did a super job of being our tour guide, making the trip a fun, light-hearted time, filled with lots of memories. Highlights included swimming with turtles, climbing a coconut tree, zip lining, playing volleyball on the private island and of course making new friends. I’d definitely recommend this tour to friends and family and would be keen to do another trip with One Life.

Jack was a fantastic tour guide and not just a tour guide but a friend. The accommodation I stayed in was beautiful and I couldn’t fault it.

He was knowledgeable, approachable and always on hand. He made each of our experiences so memorable and encouraged us to try things we didn’t think we were capable of. Moments such a the bus journeys were no longer just a form of transportation, they were shared with special groups moments and much laughter. Jack posed as the perfect DJ supplying songs that reflected each milestone of our trip and accepted requests that suited all members of the tour groups.
The itinery, although on a glance may see quite full, actually was very well thought through and we experienced everything we wanted from Sri Lanka through this plan without compromising on relaxation time and comfort. I opted for the upgrade of a private room and each of our accommodations outlived our expectations and were clean, spacious and had everything we needed. The highlight of my trip was the elephant safari and our glamping stay afterwards. It was a magical day.
Our drivers and local guide Allen was knowledgable and very attentive. They made sure we were comfortable at all times and really made an effort to make our trip and journey the best it could be. Allen was particularly helpful when it came to local knowledge and our communication with the locals when buying things and dining out.
The group were lovely to be around and made my day experience full of laughs and magical moments that I will treasure. I really have made friends for life.
I would highly recommend One Life Adventures for the professionalism and dedication to its clients and also the support that goes into local communities. I can’t wait to book a tour of Japan next!

Alan was also great. Always asking us if everything (rooms, food etc.) were ok, and he was the first to step in and help if there was a problem.
A couple of minor issues, being that in Kandy we were put in a dorm when we’d paid for a double, and the hotel in Hiddakuwa was difficult when we had a noisy air conditioner. Eventually we got moved which was great. Just the ordeal of getting there wasn’t so good.
A couple of suggestions - a bit more talk about Sri Lanka’s history ie civil war, ancient history would be good. Would also be good to eat at some more traditional places instead of western food. Finally, it would be good if the guide’s costs of the activities were covered. It’s a bit [expletives removed] when we get dumped on the whale watching tour, Safari etc and the guides don’t come along. They shouldn’t be expected to pay their own way on these activities. Especially with the fantastic job they do.

From climbing sigiriya to seeing elephants roam free to visiting a local school, I’ve had an amazing experience throughout it all. Getting up early and achieving so much before lunch has been awesome, to then be able to chill by the pool - it’s been the perfect mixture of activities and free time. The accommodation was brilliant and I enjoyed experiencing all types of places. The transportation was luxury - air conditioned coach, I mean you can’t get better than that! We have been spoilt with food, all the buffets have been delicious. Overall I’ve had the best time and wouldn’t hesitate to do another One Life tour. My favourite thing about One Life is that it is so much more than just a tour. The company itself gives back so much to the country they tour in. From visiting schools and going to homestays, you can really see the difference they are making. They also make sure the activities they do are as enviromently friendly as possible.
I also have to give a massive shout out and thank you to our tour guide Jack who was amazing from day one. You can truly see the passion he has for his job and he has a real talent at keeping everyone upbeat and constantly smiling. You are one lucky person if you get him as a tour guide!

This tour however surpassed all my expectations - the accommodation was great, all the activities were well planned and so much fun, plus there was the added bonus of meeting a fantastic bunch of people. We were so well looked after the whole way and that was mainly due to our tour guide Jack, who went out of his way to include everyone and make the tour such a fantastic and memorable experience.

Everything was so well thought-out and expertly handled, even down to the exact number of minutes it takes to walk from one subway platform to another to get our next train. Japan is everything you want it to be. It's peaceful in some areas, and completely crazy in others. I did so many bucket list things on this trip but if I had to pick a few things which really made an impact, they would be doing the Fushimi Inari shrine in the early morning and going out for a wild karaoke night in Osaka. Oh and the Kendo was brilliant and totally unexpected! Would I do it again? Hell yes!

The tour introduces you to Sri Lankan culture, local food, interaction with local communities and experiencing the best of what Sri Lanka has to offer in a sustainable way. The itinerary was jam packed with a variety of sights and attractions. If you love hiking, historic landmarks and dont mind an early start or two. (6am some mornings) then this is the tour for you. Meet the locals and experience authentic Sri Lankan food and partake in a cooking class. Try your hand at tea picking, witness elephants in their natural habitat, meet sea turtles, swim in some of the most beautiful beaches (with some seriously choppy waves) perfect for surfing. Tranaportation was handy as we had the same coach throughout, very modern and great air-con. Free to leave some belongings on the bus with peace of mind. The scenic train ride in Ella is an experience on its own, with the coach meeting us at Ella so we could travel light and enjoy the scenic views from the train. Accomodation was varied between hotels, hostels and a 5* glamping experience in a jungle environment. Overall accomodation surpassed expectations and we slept very well. Our guide Jack made the experience what it was, he was interactive and made sure we got the most from every stop along the way. An energetic chap who clearly has a real passion for travel and Sri Lanka. Couldn't recommend him enough. Be prepared to bond well with 20 strangers, the social aspects along the way really made this tour, from drinking in local towns, late night card games and a faux wedding. Pure madness. 10/10 would recommend, and would do another onelife tour in the future.

Well planned itinary, it made the most of our time there while still allowing for well needed free time. The accommodation includes 2 nights in hostels and food at the beginning of the tour is local with no alternatives. Both of which are fine as long as you're prepared for them.
Overall this is a fast growing company that is both environmentally and ethically conscious; which is visable throughout the tour.
I wouldn't hesitate recommending this tour/company to a friend.

I have found holidays can quickly become bogged down by negativity when things go wrong.... Jack, however, was extremely positive and always up and about. This tour is fantastic for those who love adventure. There’s lots going on and there will be 5:30am wake-ups so be ready (won’t be an issue if you have someone as positive and excitable as Jack). The food was great with lots of options, this enabled me to eat western food towards the end when I got sick of curry. The itinerary is jam packed, and we stayed at some amazing hotels. The resort with tents was a personal favourite. Playing sports at some of these and drinking on the beach in Mirissa were also fantastic highlights. Local guide Allen provided unparalleled expertise and was patient with us and our many questions. I was particularly confused with Buddhism at the Dhambulla Cave Temple but he did not get frustrated and walked me through the basics of this religion. Transportation was fantastic but once again be warned it is mainly by bus. This was fine but I know some people may not enjoy charters! I will definitely go on another One Life adventure, hopefully with Jack it he returns to Japan.

The Intinery itself, well where do i begin... the amount of stuff we did in 12 days was incrdible and still can't believe we did everything we did; from climbing Sagriga rock, to the national parks searching for Elephants, to Whale watching, amazing beaches, herbal gardens and seeing all the off the beaten tracks that i would have normally done on your own/ wouldn't of even known to do.
A massive shout out to the drivers who were so kind, personally and always went above and beyond for us all (normally it meant trying to find some booze shop or loo in the middle of no where). Also a HUGE thank you to Riaz, who knowledge, friendlyness, personalisum was amazing at all times. He always welcomed you with a friendly face and smile, his knowledge and fun facts about the country were amazing and any question you had he would know.
After Sri Lanka, i also did the Maldives add on, i honestly couldn't recommend this any more!! Maldives, is literally a stone through away from Sri Lanka, so your there in know time. The Intinerary for there was incredible and the majority was included in the fee you paid. We did a half a day snorkle and a full day at an all inclusive resort. The accomadation was amazing and right on the beach front and the staff were super friendly. the value for money was insane, i know if i was ever going to go back, it was cost me probably 5 / 6 times more than i paid with One Life.
And last but certainly NOT least an extremely massive, huge (and any other word you can think of) to the living legend that is Mr Jack Andrew's!!! You truly made our time for me and the group, the once in a life time experience that it was. From the off, Jack was super friendly and always went above and beyond. He not only was a great tour guide but also felt one of the family. He got stuck in with everything, from our silly dances, to drinking games and everything in between.
Thanks again to Jack, Riaz and everyone at One Life for everything. If you're unsure about doing a tour, or are looking at other companies, my best advice is to go get your card details and book it now with One Life, it will be one of the best decisions you'll make!!

We had a lot of fun and if you didn’t want to do something, there was never any pressure to do so.
Jack was a fantastic guide. He really knew his stuff and with the help of our local guide Rihaz, I felt I learnt a lot about Sri Lanka and it’s culture. They were both fantastic and the driver always made me feel safe when driving to each new location.
Jack was approachable and very easy to chat to. I had a couple of issues whilst on tour and after a chat with him he solved these with no question at all. He involved himself within the group which I think is a great trait to have in a guide and one which I’ve not had in previous tours with other companies.
On the most part I was blown away with the level of accommodation, it was more like a holiday than a tour! Even the hostel wasn’t all that bad - but that does depend on who you’re sharing a dorm with!! Majority of places we stayed had pools and this was great after a long day of exploring.
As I’ve rambled on a bit, I think I’ll end here by just saying I had an amazing time and ticked everything off my list that I wanted to do and achieve with this tour. I will certainly be booking again on another of your destinations as the packages are brilliant. Thank you for a great Christmas and New Year!!!

The accommodation was amazing and exceeded my expectations. The staff were always so friendly and accommodating. The transportation was great with an air conditioned bus and comfortable seats. It was awesome that most of the journeys were only very short and never had to spend a great deal of time on the bus. There were so many highlights throughout the whole trip! My favourite was hiking up Ella Rock on our free day (optional activity) but well worth the hike to the top as the views are incredible and amazing scenery for that perfect Instagram shot! I absolutely loved going to the tea plantation and the bike ride. There was not one activity I didn't enjoy. Jack the tour guide was great and never failed to greet us all with his massive smile and somehow managed to always make us laugh (even if I had only had few hours sleep). Jack always went above and beyond for everyone on the tour and ensured no one was even left out or secluded. The local tour guide, bus driver and assistant were so wonderful and friendly. I am so thankful that I got to tour around Sri Lanka with them all. Both Jack and the local guide Reaz were so knowledgeable. Thank you One Life Adventures for once again exceeding my expectations and always providing amazing guides to make the tour even better. I could not recommended this tour along with the Philippines tour enough!! I hope to be able to go on the Japan Tour in 2019 :).

One Life has been able to create an itinerary that covers more of Japan in ten days than I would have been able to do myself. I didn’t have to worry about anything all trip, everything was taken care of! The food was insane throughout the tour, I’ve always enjoyed Japanese food, but the food we had on tour exceeded my expectations! Our accommodation all trip was perfect for this kind of a tour, it allowed us to spend plenty of time with the rest of the group, and enjoy the experiences together. There is absolutely nothing I would have changed about the tour itself. Japan is an incredible country, and One Life did an amazing job of showing us around. My personal highlight of the tour however, wasn’t Japan itself, but our guide Jack! I have never met a more passionate, enthusiastic and knowledgeable person in my life! Any question I had about Japan he knew the answer to. Any issue I had he would solve instantly, and could not have done anything more for me or anyone else in the group. He did a great job of getting to know every single person in the group, and as well as being our tour guide, just felt like he was our friend throughout the trip. I have done quite a few tours in the past, with different companies, but I have never had a guide like Jack before, who literally could not do enough for us, and always made sure we were having the time of our lives. The tour wouldn’t have been anywhere near as good if it wasn’t for Jack being our guide! Everyone should spend a few days with Jack, he was so full of wisdom, and we had some great chats about life together! Secondly, the tour itself was very well organized, with so much variety in such a short amount of time and pretty decent value for money. If I could change anything, I’d try to make it a bit longer and include a few extra places.
Thirdly, Jack was a superb tour guide. Enthusiastic, knowledgeable and helped bring the group together so there was a great team spirit. I particularly liked the hidden spots he showed us which would be nearly impossible to find on your own (don’t miss Robot Restaurant).

The transportation was incredibly efficient (not to mention getting to ride the bullet train was definitely a highlight of the trip). I was impressed with all the accomodation, and being able to stay the night in a temple was truly an experience in itself. As a vegetarian, I was hesitant about visiting Japan as I hear it can be difficult to accommodate to such dietary restrictions, however, there was plenty of food substitutions offered for me on this tour which I was very pleased with! Jack was the most amazing tour guide, and was like a big brother to all of us (and can’t forget his 10/10 karaoke voice)! This was my first ever tour, and definitely not my last with One Life!

Visited some of the most beautiful and popular locations in Tokyo and our tour guide was really cool, laid back and made everyone feel welcome.
Only complaint is the bedding in the hostels, pretty sore neck and back from the thin mattresses, but that’s no fault on the tour company.
Meal nights were good, plenty of food to share around and try.
Transportation was good, plenty of site seeing bullet trains and the subway systems in Japan are top notch.
Overall had a blast with an amazing tour group and an amazing tour guide.

Jack was our tour guide and did a fantastic job. He explained everything really well and ensured we all understood what we were doing. He was down to earth and great fun to hangout with which really added to the dynamics of the group.

While we moved about from one place to another using public transport, the tour was exceptionally well-organised such that I didn’t experience any problems (even when I was carrying a luggage around), it was a smooth transition. I loved that we had our own free time to explore the places we visited. The temple stay in Takayama-Shi was beautiful and peaceful, definitely one of the highlights of the trip. On this tour I experienced it all, the bright lights and madness of the city life and then the calm and peace of the temples and nature.
Jack went above and beyond to help us enjoy the trip. Having a dietary restriction (vegetarian/halal) made it hard to eat in Japan, but I never missed out on the food experience because he always helped find a place that I could go to eat, or incorporate vegetarian option when we were all together (as a foodie, it is much appreciated, so thank you jack!). His fun and charming personality made the tour a great experience. He is kind, caring and very good at his job.
All in all, it was a great memorable tour, I had an amazing 10 days meeting, eating, and sightseeing in Japan, and would most certainly recommend!

Loved the pace of the tour and I thought we spent the exact right of time in each place. It was a great balance between modern cities and natural landscapes and cultural experiences.
I would have liked more organised dinners/lunches as a lot of the time restaurants were booked out or we didn't know which places were good so we ended up with 7/11 food or meat on sticks. Other than that minor gripe, I loved every second of every day! Never travelling solo again - it's so much easier to do a tour!

I wasn’t at all nervous knowing that Jack would be the guide. Jack is so much more than a guide; he is kind, selfless and passionate about what he does. Jack encouraged us to be present whenever we were; thinking, being and doing rather than taking that killer pic for insta. He showed the upmost respect for the culture, the people and the places that we visited giving us an authentic experience of japan. Jack is completely at one with the group being a participant of the group as well as the best guide you’ll ever come across.
I couldn’t have asked for a better trip and I feel honoured to be able to spend time with such an amazing person. Thank you Jack. I wouldn’t be forgetting this tour in a hurry!

The time spent in Hakone and Takayama in the middle of the trip was perfectly timed for a relaxing break between the hustle and bustle of the cities. Jack was a great guide throughout the trip and fitted in well as part of the group, whilst always being ready to help with any guidance or tips we needed to make the most out of our time there. I'll definitely be recommending the tour!

Jack (tour guide) was awesome! He provided helpful suggestions on places to see, to shop, to eat, to club, etc. outside the itinerary - spot on! I would have been lost in Japan without Jack. I have also learned many tips which I will put to use next time when I return to Japan.

Even though we encountered rough weather sometimes, Jack made sure to make the most out of each place we went to, especially when it came to avoiding crowds. Highlights include the Shibuya, Harajuku, the electronic district and the maid cafe in Tokyo, temple visits, the sushi making class, kendo class, the maid cafes, as well as the walking tours in Gion and Tokyo. Although sometimes visits appear to be quick, we were given time to revisit the sites we wanted to take our time with, and we also had clear instructions re: how to travel and explore on our own. The tour was budget-friendly, leaving us with enough money to eat, shop and enjoy other leisurely activities on our own time. We also had ample opportunity to bond as a group, which made it even better. Looking forward to doing another tour!

Having no experience travelling solo in a foreign country, I chose to do a tour with a group to ease my anxious mind and in the end I met a great bunch of people from all around the world
The itinery itself was well thought out and we managed to see so many places and participate in some memorable activities - the kendo class being one of my unexpected favourites - who would of thought of being taught by a descendent of a samurai!
Japan is a juxtaposition of new and old, as well as the manic and serene. Over the 10 days we managed to experience it from the hustle of Tokyo and bright lights of Akihabara electric town to the quite towns of Takayama and Hakone.
Our illustrious leader Jack "Jeggs" Andrew was always enthusiastic and welcoming even in the early hours of the morning! Despite his dancing and singing skills, I think he's found his calling as an awesome tour guide!
Overall this has been an amazing trip with many things to see and do within the 10 days. I will definitely be back to explore more of Japan

Japan was never on my list. But boy was I wrong! Travelling with One Life Adventures allowed me to see everything that was worth seeing in each place we visited. Each and every day I had something new…Japan was never on my list. But boy was I wrong! They even had a few more tricks up theirs sleeves if we were looking for suggestions for restaurants or places to see during our downtime. My health hasn't been the best for awhile but the company (from the first correspondence) to the tour leader and then my fellow travellers were all so understanding, caring & accomodating. Even down to suggesting and organising alternatives if there was an activity on tour that I didn't feel up too. Let's take a moment to talk about inclusions! I wasn't able to find another company that offered the same amount of places seen or that included the great range of various activities, meals, transport and level of accomodation that I received on my One Life Adventures tour of Japan. I found One Life 2 years ago when I travelled to the Philippines and needless to say my next stop will be their Sri Lanka tour!

Japan as a destination intimidated me a little bit because of how busy it is, not having English as it's first language, but after only a day here with One Life all of my worries disappeared. Japan is an expensive place, so I was blown away by how great value for money this tour is- I can't even count how many inclusions there are! The highlights for me were the Sushi Making class in Tokyo, and the Kendo lesson by a Samurai descendant in Kyoto. Two things I would have never done if not suggested and included by One Life.
Our tour guide, Jack, was fantastic, fun and really went above and beyond at all times to make us have the time of our lives.
The one thing I would want to advise anyone coming to Japan is to bring decent shoes as there is a LOT of walking and travelling involved every day. We did however despite all the inclusions have enough free time to recharge our batteries.
Japan will now always hold a special place in my heart- thank you Jack and One Life!

I have been on a few trips with other tour companies but none of them compare to One Life and their fantastic guides. Jack was always super informative and knowledgable with the history of Japan and the meaning behind the different shrines and temples we visited during our trip which I think is very important when you're travelling to a country with this much history and culture!
Everyone on tour was absolutely amazing and I have loved getting to know each and every one of them. By day 3 we had learnt so much about each other and now we're a big One Life family! (perhaps do a reunion trip to Sri Lanka with One Life some time next year?)
I highly recommend doing a One Life tour rather than doing your own thing as that was initially how I wanted to travel within Japan, but I knew that just the language barrier can play a huge impact in travelling independently unless you're fluent in Japanese! Not only this but the support and the help you receive while on tour is close to impossible to get if you were travelling by yourself.
To finish things off I just want to thank Jack for not just being a great tour guide but also being there for me and motivating me to take part in activities I never dreamed of doing such as climbing up Monkey Mountain knowing I dislike hiking. I'm sure you'll read this later on so thank you for being a great tour guide and a great friend :)

Jack the main guide was great at getting everyone involved and came up with fun quizzes for the longer bus journeys, however he did leave the tour a day early which was disappointing and not what you would expect.
There were also bed bugs in one hotel, and although these are brought in by travellers and not necessarily a fault of the hotel I do think Jack could have been more sympathetic and apologetic that this had happened. Ravi however was great in this situation.
The whale watching and hike to Sigiriya Rock were fantastic and most of the accommodation was a lot better that expected. Thanks for a great time and I would definitely recommend this tour!

Also, I found Jack and Ravi so helpful - if you needed anything at all, they would do absolutely everything they could to help. In terms of costs, make sure you are aware that you will have to pay for quite a few meals (although they are still really cheap). I would highly recommend OneLife Adventures, especially if you are keen to meet lots of new people, and socialise (optionally) in the evening.

Our 1life tour guide Jack was also brilliant, always enthusiastic and very approachable. The games and ice breakers he had planned for is were fantastic and he was great if we had any questions to ask. He made sure the tour ran smoothly and ensured that we got to each location on time.
The tour itself was flexible in terms of activities, we had an option to change to watch Sri Lanka cricket match or have a free day by the beach all without missing out of any other tour activities.
I feel that there should maybe be less emphasis on social media posting and more emphasis of the history and culture behind the locations visited.
The optional free day that was added in Hikkaduwa would be amazing for future tours as a permanent part of the trip - this provided opportunities to see wild sea turtles and also surfing lessons.
To summarise- amazing trip and I would definitely recommend the one life Sri Lanka tour!

The accommodation was better than expected; sold as dorms but was actually hotel rooms with 3 sharing most nights.
The only way it could be better would be if the trip was longer and visited more locations.

The company is big on eco tourism and giving back to the community that you are touring in, this I really believed in in compared to touring with companies that just organise pub crawls for 12 days. I loved how active and culture related this tour was as it's great to see and learn about the culture and religion of Sri Lanka. This country truly is the pearl of the Indian Ocean. I like how it has the option to avail of the good nightlife scene if that's what you want, but there is no pressure to do so. It is so so difficult to pinpoint my favorite part of this tour but the highlights have to include climbing Sigiriya and Pidurangula, the train journey to Ella and the school visit.
The accommodation has been way better than I expected throughout the tour with most places having an outdoor pool and a max of 3 people per room.
Having a local guide like Ravi really makes a huge difference to the tour as he is there to help with absolutely everything from accommodation to restaurants to culture/religion.
To be honest, a big part of what made this tour as amazing as it was was having Jack as a tour guide. He truly is excellent at what he does. He was well organised, informative, professional, inclusive and most of all, all round good craic. Definitely deserves tour guide of the year! This is a trip I will never forget,with friendships for life.

Mainly because with One Life everything (pretty much) was included eg activities. Our tour guide Jack was exceptional. He was so friendly and personable, as well as informative and helpful - even kind enough to find me a barbers. Lovely guy and great at his job. I am now contemplating the Japan tour, as Jack told us about it and it sounds awesome. The transport was great and our local guide Rihaz was lovely and very informative too. Over all a 10/10 trip!

Our tour guide (jack) was epic, and was great fun the whole way, despite being really ill. It is obvious that a lot of effort has gone into looking into the hotels and resturant's, as they all offer something different. The one thing I would say is that the food could be slightly better in some cases. Other than that, it was one of the best trips i've been on, with awesome activities, great group and a sound guide.

There was a free day if you need downtime after the hectic schedule but I'd recommend doing Ella rock which has incredible views at the peak and interim viewing points. The guys that did massages on this day didn't rate that so if you're feeling active do ella rock (early set off will help with the heat and you can still chill in the afternoon).
Jack was a brilliant tour guide and had some novel ways of getting the group to bond without making anyone feel uncomfortable. Great at making everyone feeling included and always up for beach cricket, frisbee, playing cards or a few beers watching the footy. Playlists were absolutely spot on for the bus journeys and varied enough to keep everyone happy. Which actually helps a lot on a 2-3 hour journey. Also fair play to Jack for cracking on despite being ill for the second half of the trip.
Riaz the local tour guide was also superb, very knowledgeable but also very funny and a cool guy. First time I've done a trip with a local guide as well but it definitely worked really well and added a lot to the trip.
Too many good memories to pick out one or two highlights, it didn't feel like there were any 'padding' days, itinerary was spot on and a good mix of activity, culture, and group time.

One of the best tours I have been on and would definitely recommend this to anyone. Unlike most tours this had all the activities included so there were no surprise add ons. The maels were good, usually buffet style so that works for everyone. The meals in Hikkaduwa were significantly more expensive than the other meals I think, so you might want to give people a heads up for this.
Sorry to say, but Jack could have been a bit more involved I think. I know he was sick, so I guess that's why he sometimes isolated himself, but I felt like he could have helped out more and put more effort into making everyone feel great. When I was sick, he was no help at all. Luckily, Riaz was there and he took care of me.
Overall, I had a great experience and made a lot of amazing memories!

Having been on similar tours before, this blew it out the water; it felt personal from the offset with Jack ensuring the whole group were comfortable with each other, which is so important when you're going to be spending 12 days with a group of strangers (and leave the tour all as best friends).
The itinerary was packed and varied- I would name highlights but, genuinely, there wasn't a second I didn't absolutely love. This tour has been the adventure of a lifetime with the most awesome group of people, and it wouldn't have been the same without our epic guides, Jack & Ravi. Thanks so much guys- I don't doubt that we'll see each other again in the future and live another dream...

Our guides Jack and Ravi were absolutely amazing, I couldn't have asked for two better people to show us around Sri Lanka.
The itinerary, transport and accommodation all exceeded my expectations. The whole experience was made even better by the wonderful group of people I shared it with and Jack put in a lot of effort to help us bond as a group which everyone really appreciated.
There is so much attention to detail on this tour and Jack and Ravi both went over and above what was expected to ensure we all had a good time. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in coming to Sri Lanka!

We have had a chance to experience far more than I had every anticipated, all thanks to our tour guide Jack and his sidekick Ravi. From the onset Jack made me feel welcomed, filled me with energy and enthusiasm for the tour and the country and was always on hand to answer any question no matter how big or small. At the drop of a hat Jack was willing to make changes to the plan for the day to give us the best possible experience for our trip, be it timings of a hike to see the sunrise or making sure that we had enough stops for water. Jack is a true credit to the profession and his company. He is inclusive and make sure no one misses out and everyone is heard and respected. I cannot profess enough how much I would recommend a tour with Jack and would like to state that from my experience with tour guides to date Jack has far exceeded what anyone else has put into a trip and genuinely made me feel like the quality of my holiday made was important to him and that he would move mountains to make it the best I have ever had.

He even has personalised playlists for all of the bus journeys as well as fun games; even the longer bus journeys are fun! Having felt ill during one activity, Jack instantly managed to rectify the situation and you felt that he would go out of his way completely to help you, whatever the situation. His inside knowledge as well has made the tour amazing, small little things such as suggesting amazing places to eat lunches or taking you to somewhere you wouldn't ever think of going added to the experience. I would recommend this tour with Jack to anyone and everyone, he has made an incredible country even more incredible and an experience I will never forget.

Jack was an absolutely amazing guide, full of genuine enthusiasm for his job and made every person from day 1 feel at ease. as a first time solo traveller with anxiety i believe he was a key reason in my ability to stay for the duration of the trip. absolutely couldnt thank him enough - having local guides also is an awesome idea and something that should be implemented more often on trips like these. their knowledge and love for their country is truly amazing. thanks Ravi

It's hard not to love this experience, as I'm writing this review I'm overlooking a beautiful beach and surrounded by like-minded, diverse and very fun people. Jack has been absolutely incredible, he is very knowledgable, gets involved and nothing is too much to ask. I guess it's just a bonus that he always has a smile on his face! Ravi and Jack were both very professional and knowledgable they really complimented each other and you could feel the benefits of having both a local and a western guide running the trip. The majority of the accomodation was above my expectation to be honest and the rest was perfectly fine for more remote areas. The only improvement I have is that it would have been nice to have a bit more free time to relax or explore the local areas independantly but that is what I am used to as an experienced traveller but this was great for people looking to see everything Sri Lanka has to offer.

The tour was definitely made by Jack and Ravi, they were by far the best guides I have ever had on a group tour. They have gone out of their way to make this trip so special and one i will never forget. Even the little personal touches they added like games etc on the long bus journeys made the bus journeys fly by and made us all closer as a group. We felt like a little family by the end and everyone just keeps speaking how good every aspect of the trip has been. We didn't really have any issues but any that we did for example a flickering light in a room was sorted immediately when we went to Jack about it. They both were always trying their best to make every day an amazing one, which they succeeded at! You can tell they both really care about the trip and their tour members, I felt so comfortable, safe and happy throughout the whole trip. I can not speak highly enough of these two but they are definitely a credit to One Life Adventures as is the itinerary. The only bad thing about this trip is having to leave it. Thank you Jack, Ravi and One Life adventures for one of the best weeks of my life. It will definitely not be my last time touring with you guys!
Wow!!! I was lucky enough to be a part of a small group of people who got to try this tour before anyone else and I can honestly say that it exceeded all my expectations. I was lucky enough to be a part of a small group of people who got to try this tour before anyone else and I can honestly say that it exceeded all my expectations. One Life has clearly done their research as I would never have been able to do a lot of the activities on my own. Waking up at the crack of dawn to watch the sunrise over old temples in Kyoto all alone was something I'll never forget. The walking tours around Tokyo showed us all the best spots and were so much fun to be involved in. The robot restaurant was mind-blowing, I've never seen anything like it and to me was the epitome of modern-day Japan! All the accommodation was in an awesome location, within walking distance from all the major spots and subway lines and the roof-top deck overlooking the mountains in our guesthouse in Hakone after a day of Mt Fuji viewing was particularly spectacular! Given the price of the tour, I never expected so many meals to be included! Learning to make sushi from a pro next to the Tsukiji fish market was a real highlight of mine, especially since I got to eat all the food after. Thank you One Life!! If you're thinking about travelling through Japan, make no mistake, going with One Life Adventures is the way to do it!
It was the best itinerary of any tour I looked at. Most other tours just drive around the whole time and skip the scenic train ride.

Awesome tour - everyday was action packed and lots of fun stuff to do. Everyday you will be up at about 6am getting breakfast and getting on the road to fit everything in. Everyday you will be up at about 6am getting breakfast and getting on the road to fit everything in. But there's also a couple of chill out days where you can lounge around on the beach. We had a great group of people which was expertly led by Jack and the local tour guide, Rihas and his crew who were really helpful and accommodating.
This was my first time going abroad solo and going to Sri Lanka and I would definitely recommend anyone thinking about coming on this tour to go and do it - there were so many fun experiences and interesting trips and Rihas was a wealth of knowledge about Sri Lanka and its history.
The accommodation in general was really good - there were a couple of places where you get the odd bugs or dodgy showers but it was decent considering where we were staying so you can't really complain too much. The food was always amazing - you cannot go wrong with the Sri Lankan food and Jack ensured that we all got to experience it at the start of the tour with lots of buffets of amazing food! Overall, a great experience!

I would recommend the tour, Jack and One Life unreservedly! We had the most amazing time and gained a whole new group of friends due to the laid back and relaxed style of the tour. I especially enjoyed the cooking class, the elephant safari and the hikes in Siguriya. The tour activities were aimed at the right level in terms of the age group and the mix of personalities. Also there was a good balance of free time and activities. The only feedback I would give would be around the school visit, ideally it would have been brilliant to have done some activities with the children ie. painting or playing games like bat and ball just to increase the level of interaction with them. Also as we were unable to do the whale watching due to this being out of season, it would have been good to know in advance that we wouldn't be able to do this. Apart from this I would like to thank One Life and especially Jack for having such an amazing experience! :)

Jack is a fantastic tour guide. Cannot praise him enough!! he welcomed everyone on to the tour and made sure we were all ok and included at all times. He's made sure everything has run smoothly and it has been easy, stress free and fun throughout even on the bus when driving to new places.
Only feedback I would give is at times it would have worked to be able to be more flexible with some of the activities due to the weather - ie we were travelling on the bus when it was bright sunshine and doing a safari when it was raining. Appreciate we cant predict the weather but to be able to change plans quickly would make the trip even better.
I would 100% recommend one life tours to my friends and family, already thinking about booking onto the Philippines tour already! :-)

Jack was an excellent guide and completely made the trip. From the quirky soundtracks on the bus, to the fun games - he brought us all together and I feel as though I've seen the very best of Sri Lanka and made friends for life.

An amazing tour I would highly recommend this tour if you want to see Sri-Lanka. I also love that One-Life Adventures care about the local environment e.g such as locally supporting a local school and only booking tours that are environmentally friendly for the animals e.g elephant safari and whale watching.

Not only was the itinerary for the trip perfect but it was so well run by both Jack and Ravi that the tour just flowed so easily. Never has 12 days in my life gone so fast! Both Jack and Ravi kept us well informed throughout the entire tour of what was happening for the day and in the future and fulfilled any questions we had along the way. Our small group of 9 was the perfect size to form close relationships and really get to know one another which made the trip that much better. I couldn't recommend this trip enough to anyone wanting to go or sitting on the fence about it its well worth it and you'll enjoy every minute.

Jack has been a great tour guide ensuring we have our needs catered for and has gone out of his way to make sure the tour has been as enjoyable as possible. Ravi our local guide has been outstanding, he has made extra arrangements in all hotels to ensure we are comfortable and he has adapted days if more time is available to show us even more of his beautiful country.
Viswa and Anton our driver and driver assistant have been great ensuring comfort and cleanliness of the bus on every journey.

The tour logistics ran very smooth and all of the location were breathtaking - it is difficult to pick a favourite day! the tour was jam-packed with such different experiences but also allowed ample time to relax, read a book and hang out with the group. Our group size of 9 was perfect and the small bus and group size is what made this trip a 5/5 as it was easily to get to know everyone and get everywhere on time and make quicker decisions - 12 would be the max amount in my opinion as this group was perfect! I can not thank you both enough for showing us the best of Sri Lanka, providing us with support, advice and fun this is the best tour I have ever been on! Our Driver (Anton) and assistant (Vishwa) were both really helpful and lovely, they are great assests to the team and all crew worked well together! Thank you so much wouldnt change a thing :)

The blend and balance of activities was spot on, I loved doing things I wouldn't normally do when I travel and having a fun group to do it with. I also really liked the ethical elements of One Life Adventures by planning activities protecting the animals in their environments as well as supporting local communities and local start ups. My highlights of the trip were the elephant safaris, the cooking class with the most charming Sri Lankan you will ever meet (from Euphoria Spice and Herbal) and the "Mario Cart" tuk-tuk tour of Kandy ... but the golden prize goes to the whale watching day, although slightly long I loved every second of it, the team from Rajan and the Whales were fantastic, you could tell they cared for the animals and also they did everything they could to make the most of our experience, I absolutely loved it!. Ravi (our local guide) was superb, really doing over and above to make our trip as good as possible going the extra mile to help us with our queries, concerns or needs and make our stay in Sri Lanka truly memorable.
In terms of things to improve, I believe the trip was great but a couple of things could be improved, (1) reduce the time in Ella the town is tiny and very touristy with little to do, only real option is to hike Ella mountain which only 4 out of 21 did (and most importantly use another hotel, although the decor was misleadingly beautiful ... our room had bed bugs something I had never seen before in all my travels and the pool was unusable with milky green colour), (2) increase time in Marissa I believe two nights in that lovely beach time would have been better and reduce the last beach hotel to one night, (3) Jack was a lovely fun guide during the group-bonding activities (which were really appreciated) and describing the schedule and what was planned, however he was far too laid back (in my view) I would have expected him to care a bit more (4) although most of the hotels were good enough I would encourage the OLA team to look to reduce Ella's stay to one night and find a better hotel, also maybe find a hotel in the hillside of Kandy would have been better or even in the mountains rather than the hostel in town ... and lastly the hotel in Negombo, the room for 3 people needs to have 3 beds, we had a foldable bed for the 3rd person and it was absolutely impossible to sleep in it.
None of the things I mentioned above to improve would have made me think about not doing this trip, and I would recommend it to al! These are just small things to make it even better than what it was :)

The optional elephant safa…This was my first organised tour and I decided to go with One Life due to the variety of activities offered on the tour. In general, I was happy with the activities offered. The optional elephant safari was fantastic, and the hikes, train ride and tuk tuk rides were a great way to see a beautiful country. Other activities, such as the cooking class and boat ride, lasted too long at the expense of things such as exploring Galle. While the free days were appreciated, they also meant that some of the other days were jam packed and a better balance needs to be struck. For example, on one day we rushed from a temple to a tea plantation to lunch to the train, without spending sufficient time in any location, while the next day was spent in Ella where, although beautiful, there is not much to do. The accommodation was average at best, and I had issues with ants and bed bugs during the trip. The camping night was a little grim and should definitely not be described as "glamping", although I acknowledge that One Life is trying to give back to a poor community and the morning walk the next day was quite illuminating. Ravi was a fantastic tour guide and went above and beyond to educate us about Sri Lanka and make sure everything was okay. When I was sick, Ravi followed up with me to check how I was feeling. Jack is the chilled out guy that you want to party with but at times could be a little bit too laidback. The last day in Colombo was particularly disappointing as Jack was going on holiday that night. This meant that nothing had been organised for our last night and the tour group was split between two locations, which made planning difficult and made us feel like we had been left to fend for ourselves. Given this is billed as a 12 day tour, you expect to have the tour guide present for the entire 12 days. I also thought it was inappropriate to be asked to leave a review on Day 10 of the tour and told that any negative feedback needed to be given to Jack in person. It is incredibly amiss to ask for a public rating to be given before the tour is over and confronting to be told that anything negative needs to be delivered in person. The positive reviews on Tour Radar were a large factor in my choosing One Life but, having experienced One Life's approach to soliciting reviews, I wonder if they would have been so glowing if people had been able to provide feedback in their own time upon completion of the tour.

Only some more minor instinaces where the itinerary could be tweaked to have more/ less time in certain places. Overall would recommend!

The tour guides and transport were great and made the whole trip run smoothly.
Most of the accommodation was good, however in Ella we had a bed bug situation and generally the hotel was not as clean as the others. Ravi the local tour guide was fantastic at supporting us with this, informing the hotel and helping to seek advise on how to treat the bites from a pharmacist.
My only disappointment was the final day of the tour in Colombo. When we arrived there was very little to do and nothing had been organised due to some confusion about which day was the "final evening". If I had known the farewell meal/ night was on the Sunday I would have booked flights back home earlier so if this is the case it should be stated on the itinerary. In the end we all had a lovely evening meal and drinks on a rooftop bar but this is something we had to organise ourselves.
As a final point, I do not agree with being asked to complete a review whilst still on the tour. We were asked to complete this on the Sunday and it was stated in a way which made it feel like a requirement of being on the tour - leaving reviews is a choice and for us to do in our own time when we are ready to do so.

The accommodation was perfectly adaquate and I had upgraded to my own room, which I was delighted with, after those long journeys it was nice to wind down in your own space. However I opted to share on the camp site night, the huts were not particularly secure, but it was perfectly safe to sleep and chill.
The bus was always clean and very safe to keep belongings, the driver was always careful, with occasional bumps!
The local tour guide Ravi and Jack seemed to work well together considering it was their first trip together.
Overall, there can be improvements on the tour, with regards to some of the activities and comsidering we are travelling a lot on the bus, a deeper knowledge of Sri Lanka would have been beneficial. We also didn’t get to go to the Rooftop bar in Sri Lanka even though the intinery stated we do, so the last night was a complete anti-climax and would have preferred to end the tour in Hikkaduwa as Colombo is mainly a travel day really.
On the whole it went really smoothly and I would recommend this tour!
All in all a great trip!! Fully packed with lots to do and some time to chill and drink too.

-Group Size- there was more people than I expected and more than the maximum number in the tour description (we had over 20 people). Similar tours I’ve done have a max of 16, which feels better.
-Slowness- because of the number of people, things sometimes took ages - cooking class, stopping at the supermarket etc.
Overall I’d recommend this tour, and one life adventures. I enjoyed it and the people on tour! Thanks!

The 'One Life Adventures' ethics for wildlife and local activities were spot on, explaining that they only select activities that don't harm or have a negative impact on the country. And lastly our Tour guide Jack, who has been an amazing anchor, providing comfort, detailed plans about the days, fun and knowledge!

Above all, we got to experience Sri Lanka in an authentic way, whilst being respectiful to the locals and the environment.

Jack and Ravi (tour guides) are are both very knowledgeable about Sri Lanka and overall great people always willing to help. The added activities (quizzes, games, etc) are great for passing the time during travelling and the travel buses are very comfortable.
Overall a great tour and if you are visiting Sri Lanka I would certainly recommend it as the best option to see some great sites and enjoy it with a great group.

As my first solo organised trip I was unsure what to expect. From the moment I arrived at the beacon beach hotel I automatically felt at ease around my new ‘family’, being 20 of us we were a big grou…As my first solo organised trip I was unsure what to expect. From the moment I arrived at the beacon beach hotel I automatically felt at ease around my new ‘family’, being 20 of us we were a big group - which had its advantage and disadvantages.
On the third day our plans changed due to the trouble happening in Kandy, our tour guide Jack did a fantastic job in keeping us informed and ensuring we were happy with the changes, but also being discreet enough to not put a downer on the situation.
The disadvantages of being such a big group meant some situations, such as going to the supermarket and arriving at hotels took longer. Eating in restaurants also took subsequently longer - in nearly all circumstances I would not change this as it was integral to socialising during the trip. If time is of the essence however splitting up for food or having flexibility around this would have been more practical - my main example of this would be the trip in Galle, where we unknowingly only had a few hours there, and we spent the first half at a restaurant, which meant we ran out of time looking around the town. However after mentioning to Jack we’d have liked longer there he organised for us to go back the next day so was easily fixed. I would suggest for these situations in future asking the group what their preference would be.
Overall the activities on the trip were well organised and the trip had a good mix for all personality types. My only wish was that the info brochure had more info of what type of attire to bring and that we’d never need to carry our rucksacks, I would have felt more prepared!!
Jacks humour, ‘party shirts’ and spark made the trip. His down to earth nature and enthusiasm made us feel welcome and subsequently made us all bond with each other from the beginning. Extra activities such as ‘the quiz’, card games and beach cricket helped the time go by and added those extra things that make the experience. Regardless of any ‘drama’ that was going on in the background he kept a positive face at all times - which I’m sure wasn’t easy!
In future I would fully encourage everyone to go on this trip.

Our Sri Lankan tour guide was also wonderful. Transport was great - very comfortable a/c bus with two lovely drivers. One of my favourite experiences was the train journey to Ella. Would thoroughly recommend this tour.

Only thing I think might be better would be a slightly smaller group. We had a group of 21, and It was a great bunch of people, but it did get tricky at times accommodating so many in restaurants and waiting for food etc. Over all though, a great experience and would recommend the trip.

This trip ticket a lot off the bucket list - visiting Dambulla Caves, eating traditional Sri Lankan food at the home stay of a beautiful family, hiking Sigiriya & Pidurangala Rock, Cooking Class, Spice Garden, Tuk Tuk tour of Kandy (great and efficient way to see everything), Hostel bbq’s, Temple of Tooth, Tea Estate tour, tasting and picking leaves, catching the train to Ella *highlight* hectic but an unforgettable experience I will never forget the scenery. Exploring Ella, morning hike to Mini Adams Peak and Nine Arches Bridge, Glamping and Elephant Safari, dinners on the beach listening to the waves crash enjoying amazing food and drinks. The whale watching tour - spectacular! Walking the streets of Galle taking in all the beautiful buildings. Hikkaduwa was a favourite too. Accommodation right on the beach watching the surfers and sunsets. The bike tour is a must! We visited the tsunami photo museum which I was honestly not prepared for. It was a very emotional experience hearing the stories, reading the stories and seeing the pictures of the devastation and I am glad I got to go through the realisation of events. Needing a pick up we visited the turtle hospital which was a very feel good experience.
Also a special mention to our Sri Lankan Drivers and Guides who assisted us daily, true gentleman.

The trip was only made better by the tour guides Jack, Adam and Riaz. They made everything stress free and fun. I haven’t stopped smiling, laughing and singing the whole trip! All thanks to their games and company. I could not recommend this trip highly enough.

The trip was only made better by the tour guides Jack, Adam and Riaz. They were the perfect guides by organising everything stress free but allowing us freedom to give our input on what we wanted too. I have had the most fun playing their games and enjoying their company, I haven’t stopped smiling, laughing and singing the whole trip. I could not recommend it highly enough, everyone should go!

There were great fun, knowledgable and would go out of their way to make help/make everything enjoyable. I didn’t expect to get so much out of a 12 day tour, it’s an experience I’ll never forget and I highly recommend this to anyone, especially solo travellers.

It was great to have local guides too, to tell us about their country and culture. Everything you could wish to do in Sri Lanka is included in this tour, I would highly recommend to anyone! I have made incredible memories and friends for life!

There is quite a bit of walking involved, easily 20-30 000 steps a day. I appreciated the amount of free time we got, we would get to a place and always have about an hour of free time for shopping etc there which was nice. Andrew was a very considerate tour guide, always happy to answer questions, very friendly, and made me feel capable to navigate Japan by myself the rest of my trip after the tour ended.
