My only complaint was that the restaurants where we ate do not know how to cook delicious vegetarian meals (most of the main courses were too salty).

The tour starts with the most pioneering feats of engineering the great Pyramids of Giza moving onto the breath taking views, clear blue skies, lush greenery and incredible edifices in Aswan, Philae island, Abu Simbel, Edfu and Luxor. The itinerary then slips into the relaxed atmosphere of the Red Sea city Hurghada offering laid back ambience with beautiful coastline full of incredibly beautiful coral reefs perfect for snorkelling and diving. This tour really has something for everyone!!!
Thank you to our guide Waleed Kamouna for making this trip extra special. Waleed has an easy approach and delivers the interesting facts and information with incredible passion and knowledge. His wonderful sense of humour makes the whole journey enjoyable, exciting and very enlightening.
All the Hotels on this trip are of high standard with the exception of Helnan Aswan Hotel.

I am an American female solo traveler and I had never done a tour before and wasn’t sure if it would be my thing. I am SO grateful to Waleed for such and incredible and well educated experience. He took care of all of us every step of the way, always going above and beyond and always making sure we had food and water on the long drives . We fit so many adventures into everyday that there is no way possible to do it on your own in the amount of time we did and still get the history and the feel. Waleed truly took care of us as family and I am so grateful he guided us on such an incredible journey around Egypt. I can’t wait to go back again some day soon after the museum is built.

The tour covered a multitude of experiences in a short period of time for an incredible price. This tour is fast-paced but if days were added, it may not be as affordable. A suggestion to Encounters Travel is to offer the same tour at different price points. Thank you, Encounters Travel, for a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
With professional guide and master Egyptologist, Waleed Kamouna, I was immersed in the true culture of ancient and modern Egypt. He really knows his history and explains it in such a way that you are part of the story. This tour takes you to all the really important places in Egypt. It is so well thought out and executed.Our accommodation and meals were excellent. I was very fortunate to be with a lovely group of people.
Our guide, Walleed was magnificent. He was so knowledgeable and friendly and he made learning about Egyptian history and the Gods and Godesses fascinating and fun. He used to sit us down in the shade whenever we arrived somewhere and gave us bite sized facts and told us stories about the place we were about to see. He was also really kind and he looked after anyone who was ill so competently, that no-one one missed a single activity!
The tour guide was great! He was knowledgeable and friendly. The tour staff was very helpful and even went out of the way to help us retrieve a lost phone. Tour staff was excellent!

The tour logistics was poor. They booked low end hotels in the cities you spend most of your time. It had a shower that didn’t drain and felt like you were swimming. The all inclusive hotel we stayed at, we couldn’t even enjoy because we arrived in the middle of the night, spent the next day there and had to go to bed early because the next day we had to leave the hotel at 3am to get to airport. We also slept on a sleeper train that was horrendous! It was so uncomfortable that you barely sleep, they serve you airplane type meals and bread for breakfast. Like I said, logistics was poor.
In addition, they picked out restaurants along the trip that overcharged you in USD for tiny amounts of food and no drinks. For example, we paid 25 USD each for a small plate of vegetables, 2 oz of chicken and no drink. You felt guilty not eating there or going along with the group, but it was obviously set up to benefit the restaurants and company, but not you.
Just know that if you go as a couple, you will spend a lot of money (6k USD) and you will be satisfied with some of the accommodations and will be frustrated with most of them.

Our guide Waleed has an academic background, so interesting tour along with amazing guide made this trip one of a kind!
It is well worth the trip and the variety of accommodation. There is so much history in this area that affected our modern Western lifestyle.
This is a great tour to see a lot of the country in a short space of time. It is a busy schedule but we never felt rushed or that we had not had enough time anywhere.

GO! Egypt has been a dream of mine and I couldn't believe I finally got the chance to visit this July. Everything I've read in books and seen in documentaries, movies, etc finally came alive for me. N…GO! Egypt has been a dream of mine and I couldn't believe I finally got the chance to visit this July. Everything I've read in books and seen in documentaries, movies, etc finally came alive for me. Nothing beats, touch a Great Pyramid or Sailing on the Nile like Cleopatra. I'm glad I went during the summer as there were less tourist, and even though it was hot, less people allowed us to stay longer and didn't feel rushed. Waleed Kouma was the best guide. He called us family and after our 10 days together, it definitely felt like it. he took really good care of us, keeping us hydrated, and taking us to real local places to shop and eat. I definitely plan on visiting Egypt again.
