Our group was one of a kind and I can’t thank Everett and Steve for being such a massive part of something I will treasure for life. Not only did they do their most for us on the daily but on my 23rd birthday I spent the day/night on bottle beach where later on in the night the pair surprised me with a birthday cake and lit lanterns at the end of the night. I was truly overwhelmed, a birthday I will never forget. I felt safe with these guys and they always kept us up to date with info whether that be culturally or just handy need to know stuff. I can’t thank these guys enough and I wish you both safe touring in the future. Anyone traveling with either of these pair are in for a crazy time!

I was so lucky to have a group that was fun, quirky and crazy but these boys topped it off and can honestly say they were one of the highlights from my tour, Steven is the most chilled guy ever, so inspiring and easy to get along with. And Ev is so much fun and knows when to be serious, he definitely gets 10 points for having to hear me moan pretty much during the whole duration of the hike haha (it was hot, there was bugs everywhere and i'm seriously unfit). All in all, because of these two boys the whole experience was amazing, from the boat party to the tranquil national park, its made me want to go back on tour for a longer time, see you boys soon hopefully!!

The trip ran smoothly between each stop and at each stop we were constantly learning about the Thai culture and visiting incredible places along the way. The parties were crazy, singing and dancing (badly) all night, long days spent with my TruTravels family, it was perfect. But this experience wouldn't of been half of what it was if it wasn't for Everett and Steven. Constantly making sure everyone was happy, well fed and safe. This trip was made so much better being in the company of the guides we had. I'd love to go on another TruTravels vacation and maybe next year I'll join you again. Thanks for the memories,

I went with my boyfriend and we both felt like we could have gone to them with any problem and they would be happy to help. We loved the itinerary as there was always something to be doing but a good amount of free time aswell, Steve and Ev's knowledge of Thailand was so detailed, they gave us loads of info and answered all our questions. If we hadn't gone on the tour we wouldn't have met such a great group of people and might not have known about some of the amazing places like khao sok national park and bottle beach. Thank you Steve, Ev and the rest of Tru Travels for a fantastic few weeks - would recommend to anyone!

Ev was super fun and enthusiastic, knew when to be serious and is generally a crazy awesome guy, plus he had to hear me moan about the hike majority of the way so 10/10 points. Steven is the most chilled out person ever, so interesting and mad crazy, will never forget dancing on stage in Bangkok and the interesting nicknames haha. Would definitely recommend touring, 100% going again. DO. IT!!

It was so useful to have them with us all the time as they always knew the best places to go and really bought us together at the start. The itinerary was great there was always something to be doing but a good amount of free time as well. There were so many places that we stayed that I wouldn't have known about if we travelled alone, khao sok national park was definitely one of the highlights! I would definitely recommend Tru travels above other companies I've travelled with, the group sizes aren't too big and Ev and Steve were incredible!

My personal highlight was Khao Sak staying on the floating bungalows in the middle of this beautiful lake surrounded by stunning backdrops.
I was actually surprised at how posh most of the hotels were, I was expecting dingy and old!
Ev, aka Everett, aka my new little brother. What a legend. Masterminded the fun, updated with important info and stopped any concerns I had immediately. He even saved my life providing supplies when I was ill and after an unfortunate slip off a bench after a few fizzy pops.

As the title suggests, we hopped from one island to the next by boat, mini bus and train - and each island was more beautiful than the one before (with the exception of the floating bungalows which were just outstanding and my personal highlight!).
Ev, aka Everett, aka my little brother - couldn’t have done more or made the experience any better. Mastered that delicate balance of profession and loads of fun. He even saved my life after an evening of fizzy pop meant I fell off a bench and pulled him with me, yet he managed to avoid landing on my head!! Any issues or concerns I had he eleviated - he even came to my rescue during an evening of food poising.

Sadly Lish couldn’t stay for the whole trip but in the time we had with her, she brought everyone together playing Picolo and being our tour Mum/pharmacist! Wouldn’t have been the same without her! Art was so laid back and fun, he always made sure we were on time for boat trips and buses and was organised to a T! And Everett, although it was his first tour you’d think he’d been doing Tru Travels for years! Such a natural at his job, always cracking jokes and getting involved with the group. He could lighten the group at any time even on 7am boat trips when we were all tired!
It was genuinely the best thing I’ve ever done and I would urge anyone thinking about travelling alone or in a group to do a Tru Travels tour! I can’t wait to book our next one already!

Giving us tips and stories straight away making us laugh and helping us feel at home. He was constantly outgoing, helpful & chatty and he did an amazing job and bringing the whole group together to make the friendships that we now have. I want to thank Ev for helping me do some activities that are very out of my comfort zone, for amusing me with your terrible accents & for making the whole exprienve so fun and unforgettable. Thanks Ev !!!!

WOW. What a fantastic trip! A none stop 8 days of fun, really made by the great group and fab guide Ev! The only watchout is the 8 day Thai Experience shares itinerary with first 8 days of the 18 day …WOW. What a fantastic trip! The only watchout is the 8 day Thai Experience shares itinerary with first 8 days of the 18 day Thai Island hopper, so for the 10 days after you will be very jealous as you see what everyone else is up to after you have left (i really need to get back to do the final 10 days!!).
A special mention must go to Ev who made the trip - organised throughout and there to answer any question. He also really was the life and soul of the party, even when we almost broke him once the evening before! If you ever do get bored during a long bus ride just ask him to do his accents (although its better later in an evening!). A big thanks to Art and Pom too (our local guides) for everything.

He's okay I guess... nah honestly Ev is a truly amazing person and even better tour guide. Without even trying Ev makes everyone feel at home and welcome in a unfamiliar country with a group of strangers. He makes it feel like you are travelling with family but way more fun. I honestly don't think my tour in Thailand would have been the same without him, thankyou Ev!

I finished the 18 day island hopper tour last week as a solo traveler. It was an amazing experience. All three of the guides (Everett, Art and Alicia) were great. All three of the guides (Everett, Art and Alicia) were great. Alicia had to leave the tour very early for reasons beyond her control, but she came across as being very friendly and knowledgable. Art is a very laid back, effortlessly cool guy who kept a good eye on the group. He was very organised throughout, making sure we got to places on time and didn't miss anything. Ev is a great guy, very down to earth and full of energy. Funny dude too, he had the group in stitches a lot of the time. Considering it was his first tour he did a great job (Special thanks to him for making sure I got back to the hotel OK after I got way too drunk on the first night!). Everyone else in the group was great. The activities were organised well, it felt like there was enough time to chill out as well as do stuff. Worth the money in my opinion. I probably would have struggled to do as much by myself without doing a tour.
If I had to make any criticism - some of the places we were taken for food could have been better, considering there seemed to be a hell of a lot of choice in most places we went to. A lot of them were good though. There were also places I wish I could have stayed longer... bottle beach for example! One day was not enough! But with so much packed into the 18 days I know that isn't possible. The transport wasn't always comfortable, but if you're doing a tour like this you should expect to have to rough it every now and then. It's all part of the experience in my opinion. I loved the longtail boat rides though! This might also not be the right tour for you if you don't drink... there is a lot of partying! I loved it however.
I made some great memories with a great group of people. It has definitely given me the urge to do some more traveling ASAP!

Did things I’ve only ever dreamed of; climbed through caves, abseiled down cliffs and partied on the beach right next to the ocean. The tour wouldn’t have been the same without the amazing tour guides: Lish, Art and Everett. Lish unfortunately left the tour early but was so full of fun and took care of me and a good few others when we got the mysterious sickness bug! Art is the most organised but chill human I’ve ever met and made sure we were everywhere on time as well as taking us to great restaurants. Everett is one of the happiest people I’ve ever met and always made sure everyone was enjoying themselves, really can’t believe this was his first tour.. a total natural! (Don’t tell him I said that). Made memories I’ll treasure forever and feel so lucky I was able to experience everything with what I believe was the BEST group of people I could have wished for❤️ Friends for life. Can’t wait for another TruTravels tour and would recommend the company to anyone!

I got off the tour a few days ago, the trip was genuinely incredible. The guides for our trip were Everett, Lish and Art, I’ve got so much gratitude and love for all of them. We arrived in Bangkok 4 d…I got off the tour a few days ago, the trip was genuinely incredible. The guides for our trip were Everett, Lish and Art, I’ve got so much gratitude and love for all of them. We arrived in Bangkok 4 days early so had some hangtime with one of our guides, Everett, prior to the start of the tour. Everett introduced us to a few other guides and everybody was so warm and welcoming, Steve, Delaney, Colin, Justin and Max to name a few. Alas, Lish was unwell so couldn’t complete the whole tour with us but while she was there she was a truly great guide, I was soul crushingly sick on the first day when we went to the temples and she looked after me like a mother wolf protecting her young, I genuinely think I’d still be there, dying in the temple toilets if it wasn’t for her. Everett is easily one of the most likeable people I’ve ever met, his constant positivity and joie de vivre rubbed off onto everybody on the tour, it must be the stereotypical friendly Canadian in him, his natural warmth really bought everybody together, there certainly wouldn’t have been as many laughs (or games of beer pong) without him. My only complaint is that he’s too handsome and too good at pool. Art, where do I st-art, he is such a chilled guy, his knowledge of every spot on the tour was second to none, no matter where we were he knew exactly where to eat and drink and always had suggestions if we had something in mind, making us feel imensely more comfortable about doing whatever it was we were doing. The tour itself was incredible, without a doubt we visited the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen, and to do it all in such great company was nothing short of living the dream. I truly believe I’ve made friends for life, the memories of this trip are like a little film I’ll look at in my head for a very long time. (until my next Tru Travels tour).

We arrived a few days early which gave us the chance to hangout with our tour guides (Everett, Art and Alicia) and get a little introduction to what Bangkok has the offer!
While we were waiting for the tour to begin we also got the chance to hangout with other tru travels tour guides (Delaney, Justin, Colin, Steve to name a few!) and everyone was so welcoming and genuinely nice people. It was always great to running into them over the 18 day tour.
Our Thai tour guide Art was brilliant to say the least. There wasn’t a moment on the tour where we didn’t know where we were going or what time activities were. He also gave just great advice on where to stay and travel to next!
Sadly he beat me a pool a lot but other than he was a top bloke.
It was really unfortunate Alicia left early but while she was with us she was amazing! Such a happy and out going person. The first night together as a group she got everyone involved in piccolo (drinking game), which helped gel everyone, it was great as there were a lot of solo travels who didn’t know anyone.
Everett is okay I guess.....nah I’m kidding (WHERE MY MONEY!), he was the most positive person on the tour. Even after 12 hour bus, train and boat rides, he was still providing the group with laughs and terrible Imitations of English accents haha it’s hard to believe it’s his first tour. He’s a natural!
Overall the tour was better than I could have ever hoped it would be. The people, the islands and the laughs. It was so sad to see everyone leave but I think we can all collectively say it will not be our last tru travels tour!

The tour totally exceeded my expectations in every way possible. It has the perfect mix of adventure, unreal scenery, viewpoints and amazing parties! Our guides were Lish, Art and Everett. Lish unfortunately could only stay with us for a short while but she was so lovely and helpful, and when I was ill walked with me to the pharmacy and advised me on what to do. Art our Thai guide was so organised and made sure we were always on time for our transport. He also has very good knowledge of safe places to eat or extra activities to do in each area. Very chill guy and a great laugh. Everett, where do I begin, what a great guy! To quote him ‘usually first up and last to bed’. Knows how to have fun but also there to helping when it’s needed. Became everyone’s best mate and always tried his best to include every single person on the trip. Always so happy even at 5am after getting off the overnight ferry. Considering this was his first tour he did an AMAZING job! Overall the guides organised everything so well. They always let us know the night before what was happening the next day and were so good at offering extra activities to those who wanted to do them. Also they where there to help when I got ill and injured myself (oops).
If you are considering this tour 100% just book it you will not regret it! I can’t wait to do another TruTravels trip next year.

The tour was everything i could have wished for and more. This tour allowed me to see all that Thailand has to offer with its amazing scenery, great food and all the hidden gems as we made our way from Bangkok all the way to Phuket, the last stop. We covered plenty of activities and seen some of the most beautiful landscapes and viewpoints, thanks to Everett. The trip would not have been complete without the people i experienced it with in our group, and the tourguides, Everett, Art and Alicia, who were absolutely fantastic from start to finish and made the experience one to remember. The guides went above and beyond to make the experience an unforgettable one and i can not praise them enough! Art, the Thai guide was an expert in making sure we were where we needed to be at all times, and made sure we were on time for every train, boat or bus journey. He knew all the best restaurants and his experience was clear to see. Alicia, although she was only with us for a short time, was a great guide and made sure everyone was having a good time and was feeling alright. Alicia gave some great tips on Thai culture and made sure we were safe at all times, while also taking us out on some great nights at Khoa San road in Bankgok, and at Bottle Beach. It was sad to see Alicia go and i am grateful to have met her as she is a great person as well as a great tour guide. The last of the tour guides was Everett - and what a guy he was! Everett was one of the most energetic, happy, fun, and outgoing people i have ever met. I travelled alone and right from the start, Everett made me feel like i had met a new bestfriend. From taking us on treks to the viewpoints, to the countless nights out and fun games, i could not have asked for a better tour guide. He made sure to include the whole group and gave everyone the chance to take part in the day trips and activities. If you have Everett as your guide, your a lucky person! Overall, i had an amazing time out in Thailand and will be using Tru Travels again next year for my next trip to see the rest of South East Asia.
