End your Albanian Alps trip with a stop in Shkoder, northern Albania's largest city, where you'll have dinner on the shores of Shkoder Lake—the Balkans' biggest lake. Take a walk through the pedestrian area with time for ice cream before heading to Tirana, arriving between 5-8 PM depending on traffic.

You'll stay at the 3-star Shkodra Promenade Hotel for two nights while checking out the legendary Rozafa Castle, dramatically perched above three converging rivers with panoramic views. Start from Scanderbeg Square in Tirana at 8am and travel through Shkoder to reach the remote Thethi Valley in Albania's Accursed Mountains, where you'll spend the night in a traditional guesthouse. Hike to Grunasi Waterfall and the Blue Eye of Kapre, a crystal-clear spring near Nderlysaj village, and learn about the region's blood feuds and isolation towers.

This 2-day trip from Tirana takes you along Montenegro's Adriatic coast, starting with a boat ride to Our Lady of the Rocks in Perast where you'll get great views over Kotor Bay. You'll walk through Kotor's UNESCO-listed Old Town, have time to swim at Budva's beaches, and check out the old cobbled streets inside Ulcinj Castle.
