Erwin was a great tour guide; knowledgable on all things pertinent to a cycling tour of France! He was also flwxible and adapted as needed (heat wave conditions) and if you are monolingual having a guide who is so fluent is a God-send. Will def consider a future tour - not immediately as its a long way to come from Australia!
Cycling in France - Loire ValleyFood excellent, staff good, entertainment good but restricted by long service time of meals; by the time meal was over most people were too tired to enjoy the entertainment. Sadly restricted itinerary meant too much time in Nantes and long bus journey rather than Cruising which was not aim of trip.
Christmas on the Loire (port-to-port cruise)Overall it was very good. Our guide Yannis was sweet, but I'm not sure if he's a good fit for this tour. The accommodations were excellent, the food was out of this world, but the walks started feeling like forced marches in the heat wave. The chateaux were gorgeous but the very last one on the itinerary was one too many (in my opinion). Villandry and its magnificent gardens should have been our final chateau, not another one the same day after lunch. I would have enjoyed more of an emphasis on the wines of the Loire Valley, with a guide who knew more about the area and local wineries. We had a great group, very compatible.
