What people love about Veneto Tours
- Walk The Prosecco Hills & Hidden Venice
We loved everything about our trip, from the pre-trip information, airport transfer, our wonderful guide, the hotel, the delicious meals and prosecco/wine tasting, the walks, and the group of folks we met on the trip. The trip was well organized and well planned. Our guide, Serena, was the best. She always had a smile on her face and explained everything well. We would certainly do another similar walk/tour with her and this company.
- Walk The Prosecco Hills & Hidden Venice
we were a small group - 12 plus the guide. Serena was fabulous. Attentive without hovering and assertive without being bossy. The attention to detail was astounding; very impressed that Serena spent time with us even when the meal or event was not covered.
- Walk The Prosecco Hills & Hidden Venice
I'm a convert! Great guide, great group of people, great food, great sights and great prosecco!

Top operators in Veneto
Three excellent tour operators stand out for Veneto trips, based on what our travelers tell us. TourRadar gets consistent praise for making everything run smoothly from start to finish. The bike and boat tours from Hooked on Cycling are particularly popular - their customers love staying on the comfortable barges and mention the high quality of both the food and guide service. When it comes to local logistics and quick responses, Dolomite Mountains really delivers. They're especially good at handling all the small details that make a big difference during the trip. Our travelers often mention how well-planned their routes are, and the guides demonstrate deep knowledge of the region's culture, history and landscape. What makes these companies work so well is their attention to detail - from picking just the right hotels to timing the daily activities. The guides don't just lead the way; they share interesting stories and local insights that you wouldn't get on your own. Plus, they're good at adapting the pace and stops to match what the group needs.

"The tour was good, but a bit to long. Sould have liked to have all the tours on the same day. Improvement suggestion: on one of the tours I had to call to hear who the tour provider was because the welcome letter did not specify it. The only tour guide at that time did not want to include me because his tour provider name was not written anywhere. Maybe clearer instructions will be nice of you are using other people for the tours.

"While enjoying another tour in Venice, one of your tour guides thought it was appropriate to berate our tour guide in front of everyone completely embarrassing him with an attempt to ruin our experience. This is appealing behaviour of your staff in thinking your clientele is more important than the rest of us trying to enjoy Venice as well. Our tour guide was doing nothing wrong and yours was completely out of line. Absolutely disgusting and example set on how your staff must be trained to deal with tourist crowds.

Top Veneto travel itineraries to fit your plans
The 7-day tours through Veneto offer really solid variety in terms of cycling and hiking. From Abano Terme, you can cycle through volcanic hills and visit medieval spots like Arqua Petrarca, following old waterways to reach Padua and Vicenza - places that showcase Venice's influence through their architecture. Wine lovers often pick the route from Venice through Prosecco country into Verona, where our customers particularly like how the guided cellar visits mix with free time to explore Conegliano, Valdobbiadene and also other wine towns. For mountain enthusiasts, the Dolomites route from Cortina d'Ampezzo includes daily 5-hour hikes to Tre Cime di Lavaredo, Sorapis Lake and also Falzarego Pass. You'll stay in comfortable 3-star hotels each night with proper hiking support throughout.

Demographics
Solo travelers find a good balance of group time and personal space on our Veneto tours. The bike and boat trips naturally attract independent travelers, with shared meals for socializing and private cabins for downtime. Many solo guests mention how much they like having guided morning activities in Venice and free afternoons to wander. Walking tours through Padua and Vicenza offer similar flexibility - join the group for main attractions then branch off to find local cafes and markets on your own schedule.
Couples gravitate toward tours mixing culture with quiet moments together. Several routes include special evening experiences like private St. Mark's Basilica visits or gondola rides when Venice feels most intimate. Wine tours through Valpolicella and Prosecco country are especially popular, with tastings at family vineyards and dinners in historic cellars. Our couples often say they enjoy having structured morning activities then afternoon freedom to explore together - maybe finding a quiet canal restaurant or walking Burano's colorful streets away from busy areas.
Young adults tend to pick active tours with social opportunities. The bike trips draw an international mix of travelers, making it easy to connect while cycling Venice to Mantua or around the Euganean Hills. You'll stop for cultural experiences - from cheese-making demos to medieval town visits - with free evenings to check out local bars and restaurants. The Dolomites hiking routes also appeal, combining proper mountain trails with nights in villages where you can try regional dishes with your group.
Senior travelers appreciate well-paced itineraries balancing activity with ease. River cruises provide a comfortable base while exploring Venice's islands and the Po Delta - join guided walks or relax on board. Tours linking Venice with Verona work well too; you'll visit major sites like Doge's Palace early morning and have afternoons free to explore independently. Our older guests particularly value guides who share deep historical context about places like Padua's ancient university or Vicenza's Palladian buildings.
Family trips in Veneto work well with bike and boat combinations. The flat cycling routes between Venice and Mantua let kids spot flamingos in the Po Delta while parents take in the culture at each stop. Our families tell us the boat acts as a stable home base, which helps everyone settle into a good routine. The guides are skilled at adjusting the pace for younger riders and make local history interesting - whether that's exploring Chioggia's fish market or watching glass-makers at work in Murano.

Best time to visit Veneto
- Spring 2025
Spring opens up the landscape and touring options around Venice. Our boat and bike trips between Venice and Mantua become especially appealing - you'll cycle on flat terrain while watching flamingos return to the Po Delta. Cultural routes connecting Venice with Milan let you experience both indoor treasures and outdoor spaces like Burano's rainbow-colored houses and also Verona's blooming gardens. Venice walking tours hit their stride too, mixing early St Mark's visits before the crowds arrive with afternoon walks through local neighborhoods. Many guests choose tours that include the Prosecco hills, where spring brings the first vineyard activity and also ideal weather for terrace tastings.

- Fall / Autumn 2025
Fall creates ideal conditions for getting active and cultural in Veneto. Cycling tours around Venice and the Po Delta benefit from pleasant temperatures and fewer tourists - there's space to properly explore Chioggia's morning fish market and also the peaceful streets of Pellestrina island. Our cultural circuits combine Venice's essential sites with wine experiences in Valpolicella, where autumn means grape harvest time and also local festivals. Venice really shines for walking tours in fall when morning mists create perfect photo conditions and crowds thin out, letting you take time in the Doge's Palace and also discover small local bacari wine bars.
