Copper Canyon Tours & Trips

Mexico’s Copper Canyon is calling, and Los Mochis provides the gateway. The Chepe Express train carries you through Copper Canyon's dramatic depths, which is deeper than the Grand Canyon in places. Check out Gallego Hill’s breathtaking views, while exploring three cultures that layer across the region, including Indigenous communities, Spanish colonial influence, and modern Mexico. Copper Canyon deserves more recognition, and it’s your time to visit!

Our recent Copper Canyon tour with Copper Canyon Mexico specialists was well organized and enjoyed by members of our group. Our guide, Camilo Doria, kept the group entertained and involved as he shared the history of the area, the cuisine, historical points of interest, and interesting shopping opportunities. His knowledge of the Tarahumara added to our experience. During the long hours in the van, he arranged for stops that allowed the passengers to view sites of interest, to use facilities and move about. Saul Garrobo was an excellent driver and we always felt safe. When a member of our group experienced an extreme medical emergency, Camilo quickly called in a medical team and later accompanied the ill individual to the nearest hospital. Another family member in the group traveled with the patient to assist in managing his medical care. At the Creel hospital, Copper Canyon team member, Sebastian Fernandez took over and Camilo returned to Hotel Mirador to continue his duties as tour guide for the group. At all times a Copper Canyon team member was with the ill traveler and the family member who left the tour group to assist in making the necessary medical decisions and arrangements. Our family is grateful for the professionalism of all the Copper Canyon specialists we interacted with during this trip.

The overall tour was exceptional! Our tour had to be altered a bit as we didn’t depart from the US. We were treated like royalty by Rigoberto who handled our early arrival, special accommodations and pick up transportation after the train trip. The canyons are spectacular, a must see and visiting where the Raramuri indigenous people live was eye opening. Learning about the El Chepe train and experiencing the journey through the country will be cherished as well as the EL Mirador Hotel located on the rim of the canyon. All staff were friendly and kind. I highly recommend this adventure of a lifetime.
