10 Day Southeast Asia Itinerary, incl. Hanoi and Siem Reap
A 10-day Southeast Asian circuit connects 5 cities from Hanoi to Phuket. The route encompasses UNESCO sites Halong Bay and Angkor Wat, along with Hoi An's ancient streets. Selected hotels, expert guides, and domestic flights included.

- Day 1
Hanoi, Vietnam
Plan to arrive in Vietnam's capital in early afternoon to avoid the intense evening rush hour traffic from the airport. After settling in, walk through the Old Quarter where the streets fill with life after 5pm. Get small Vietnamese dong bills ready for street food stops. The outdoor BBQ spots along Ma May Street offer an excellent introduction to local cuisine.

- Days 2-3
Halong Bay
The 4-hour drive east brings you to the famous UNESCO site of Halong Bay. A practical tip: Only take what you need for the cruise in a small bag since large suitcases are difficult to manage on boats. Visit Luon Cave for kayaking before 9am to avoid crowds and heat. The 6am Tai Chi session on deck offers beautiful sunrise views of the limestone formations.

- Days 4-5
Hoi An
A quick flight to Danang followed by a 45-minute drive gets you to Hoi An. One traveler shared: "The tailors in Hoi An can make anything, but give them at least 48 hours for quality work." Stay in An Hoi for a quieter experience while keeping the Ancient Town within walking distance. Visit the Thu Bon River morning market before 7am for local breakfast and coffee. Plan your Ancient Town walk for late afternoon when temperatures cool down.

- Days 6-7
Siem Reap, Cambodia
Start your Siem Reap visit at the Angkor National Museum to understand the history before exploring the temples. At Angkor Wat, use the East Gate entrance at 5:30am to skip the main entrance crowds. Wear sturdy shoes for the steep temple steps. One visitor recommended: "We hired a tuk-tuk driver for the day rather than a tour bus - much more flexible for photography stops."

- Days 8-10
Phuket, Thailand
Finish your trip relaxing in Phuket. The west coast offers stunning sunsets, with Kata Beach providing good amenities without overcrowding. The best weather runs from November to April, while September brings occasional afternoon rain. Consider Kata or Karon instead of Patong for a more peaceful stay. Book your airport taxi inside the terminal at the fixed-rate counter to avoid any fare issues.

9 Day Southeast Asia Itinerary, incl. Ho Chi Minh City and Angkor Wat
A rich 9-day route connects 5 destinations from Ho Chi Minh City to Bangkok. The tour features Mekong Delta cruises, Angkor Wat sunrise tours, and traditional Khmer meals.

- Day 1
Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
Your Southeast Asia adventure begins in Ho Chi Minh City. Plan for a 45-minute trip from the airport to the city center. Traffic can double this time during rush hour. A guest mentioned: "The hotel in Saigon was centrally located, but request a room away from street noise for better rest after the long flight."

- Day 2
Mekong Delta Day Trip
Head out for a full-day trip to the Mekong Delta. The journey takes 2-3 hours each way. You'll visit local candy factories and take boat rides through villages. One visitor noted: "Getting close to the honey bees and sampling local produce was a highlight of the Mekong cruise." Don't forget insect repellent and a hat for protection from the strong delta sun.

- Day 3
Ho Chi Minh City to Phnom Penh
- Day 4
Phnom Penh
Visit the Killing Fields and S-21 Prison in the morning. Use the afternoon to explore the Royal Palace ($10) or Central Market. One traveler shared: "The Grand Palace at night during the cyclo tour was spectacular." The riverside cafes are perfect after 4 PM when it's cooler.
- Days 5-7
Siem Reap & Angkor Wat
Take a six-hour drive to Siem Reap. You'll have two full days to explore Angkor's temples. Watch the sunrise at Angkor Wat by arriving at 5 AM. Visit Ta Prohm early on your second day to avoid crowds. A recent visitor suggested: "The heat between 11 AM-3 PM is intense – use this time for lunch and pool breaks at your hotel. The Nagara Angkor Boutique hotel's pool was perfect for afternoon cooldowns."
- Days 8-9
Bangkok
Travel four hours to Bangkok through the Cambodia-Thai border. Spend your final day exploring Bangkok. While the hotel near Chinatown offers peace and quiet, it's not close to main attractions. Look into the Sukhumvit area if you want to stay longer.
What people love about 10-day South East Asia tours
- Golden Triangle of Indochina In 10 Days (Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos)
We had the most wonderful family holiday thanks to Realistic Asia and Thang! Our “Golden Triangle of Indochina in 10 Days” tour was perfectly paced, with a mix of activities/tours as well as opportunities to rest and relax. We saw all of the must-see sights in Siem Reap, Luang Prabang, Hanoi, and Halong Bay. Our guides were terrific, and the hotels (we did a mix of 4 and 5-star) and transportation were excellent and comfortable. Realistic Asia was very flexible and accommodating during our planning process. Thang was responsive and communicative leading up to and during the trip, ready to answer any questions we had at any time. We would happily book a trip with Realistic Asia and Thang again!
