      Stockholm, Sweden

      Begin your journey in Sweden's capital, spread across 14 islands. Visit Gamla Stan (Old Town) early in the morning to avoid crowds. "The narrow cobblestone streets of Gamla Stan are magical at sunrise - grab coffee at one of the local cafes before tour groups arrive." The Vasa Museum opens at 10 AM. Go right when it opens to skip the long lines. For the Royal Palace changing of guards, get there 15 minutes early and position yourself near the outer courtyard.
