Start with a visit to Santa Ana before crossing into Honduras. Have your passport ready as border crossing usually takes 30-45 minutes. Spend your afternoon exploring Copán's beautiful carved stelae and hieroglyphic stairway. Plan your visit for early in the day when the light is perfect for photographing the detailed carvings.

- Day 4
Copán to Río Dulce
Stop at Quiriguá Archaeological Park to see the tallest stelae in Central America, reaching over 35 feet. Then continue to Río Dulce for a refreshing change from ruins to Guatemala's green riverside scenery. Pack layers as the weather varies quite a bit between the highlands and the tropical river area.

Río Dulce to Flores
- Day 6
Tikal Day Trip
- Day 7
Chichicastenango & Lake Atitlán

- Mayan Triangle Program - Guatemala, El Salvador & Honduras in 10 days
Our overall experience gets 5 stars with outstanding guides, organization, promptness and lodging. The WhatsApp was used to keep us informed and updated. However, there is some room for improvements. I’ll start with Copán in Honduras. I was at Copán 30 years ago just before the park released the almost completely intact underground Rosalila Temple to the públic. Back in 1996 the local mayor allowed us entry because we were visiting from the Embassy. It was magnificent but at that time no fotos were allowed. Forward 30 years, 2026, this tour didn’t allow us time to visit Rosalila nor was there time to visit the museum on the grounds which were huge disappointments. Although the Rosalila and Museum weren’t mentioned in the itinerary it was mentioned of some leisure time. That didn’t happen. Much of the time was taken for the guides to translate the areas in English and in Spanish. The English speakers were annoyed waiting for the guides to finish translating to the Spanish speakers and ViceVersa. For the distance driven there should have been significant time to have toured these two areas. What a shame to be so close. The same went on with the other areas we toured in El Salvador and in Guatemala waiting for the guides to finish from one language to the other. The complaints/comments were the guided tours should just be in a single language rather than standing around waiting for our turn. We strongly recommend TourRadar but will also let our friends know to review each itinerary and if there’s a place they want to visit and it’s not listed they may have to hire a private tour guide. Thanks TourRadar for the opportunity for us touring the Mayan Triangle.
- Maya Triangle : El Salvador, Copan Ruins & Guatemala 8 Days
Fully guided private tour offering a quick overview of three countries. Hotels are 2- and 3-star but quite adequate. El Salvadore was most surprising; could have spent another day there and a day less in Antigua, Guatemala.
- Classic Belize & Tikal
Interesting combination of activities, but several accommodations could be better, and communications to the group was not the best, Local guides and drivers were excellent.
