In the village of Manggis in east Bali, you'll join local women farmers for a cooking class where you make traditional dishes with seasonal organic ingredients they grow themselves. Check out the 8th-century Hindu temples at Gedong Songo set in volcanic mountains, then wander through Jodipan's colorful street art village in Malang.

Head up to Batutumonga where you'll trek through terraced rice fields with ancient megaliths scattered around, and the views across Tana Toraja's highlands are great from up there. Then check out Kete Kesu, one of the oldest Toraja villages, where you can see the original Tongkonan houses.
