Bosnia & Herzegovina Tours & Trips
Have you watched someone dive off a bridge 24 meters high? Mostar's bridge divers do it daily in summer, and the Old Bridge itself stands beautifully rebuilt. Bosnia tells complex stories through its cities, Sarajevo’s Old Town and museums provide context, Kravica Waterfalls create perfect swimming spots, and Cincar Mountain sometimes reveals wild horses. Explore this and so much more in Bosnia.

Our tour guide was amazing. The places he took us too were beautiful and historical. Our kids learned so much about the history of Bosnia. We met so many friendly people along the way in all the cities we visited. Food in Bosnia is delicious!
7 Days Bosnia Discovery TourWhat an amazing adventure! This country has so much beauty and history and is so diverse in cultures and terrain. I would like to give the guide Meme and the rest of the team involved in planning and carrying out the tour 5 stars! The food and experiences were all incredible and I feel privileged that I was able to be a part of it. The tour was well organized and Meme was able to pivot and find the group quality replacement outings when the weather became unpredictable and possibly dangerous on the day of the big outdoor hike on day 5 of the tour. About that hike, though - I would like to point out that on Tourradar, the venue I booked this tour on, did not aptly describe the extent of the hike in the mountains. Tourradar lists this tour as "Low Intensity" and describes the hike as a, "circular hike to a mountain village, winding up and down the rolling mountains" while on the official Intrepid site, the tour is described as, "A trekking distance of 16 km and about 8 hours through an elevation of gain of 750 m. This requires moderate fitness." While a taxi is offered to those who chose not to do the substantial hike, the cost is added to the traveler. I'm not sure of what that cost would be to ride a taxi through the mountains, since that part of the trip got cancelled due to the impending rain and fog and became a non-issue on that day. Still, I was unpleasantly surprised to find all this out on the first day meeting of the tour group and was told by the guide that he would be keeping an eye on all the travelers leading up to the hike, to assess whether or not he felt we were up to it. I totally understand his reasoning behind this protocol and appreciate his attention to safety, (apparently there have been other ill-prepared travelers in the past, like me), but I resented Tourradar a bit for the lack of accuracy and for being placed in a situation I was not anticipating as a traveler. The 4 star rating goes to Tourradar, not to the guide and team involved in the tour. I greatly recommend this tour for all the fantastic experiences you will have on it, just be prepared that it is not a "low intensity" tour, like it was advertised.
Bosnia & Herzegovina AdventureI had 3 different tour guides and each was fantastic! They made me fall in love with Bosnia Herzegovina. Jasmine was the guide for my full day tour - his ability to share information about the amazing and often confusing transformations this country has gone through- while not taking any one side but respectfully sharing many different perspectives touched my heart. Plus he was so kind to all and fun to be around. Ahmed (Tunnel of Hope tour) shared personal stories that brought the human touch to the different beliefs in this region. He was able to explain so much about the "end" of the 90s war with respect for all involved. His stories made the history real. I didn't get my guide's name for my introductory city tour, but he was also so wonderful in sharing the history and his love for Sarajevo. The people who worked in the Meet Bosnia office were great too - they made sure I knew where to be and when, and arranged my transfers - all went as planned.

Best time to visit Bosnia
- Fall / Autumn 2026
Fall creates ideal conditions for discovering Bosnia's varied landscapes and rich heritage. We've got this excellent route starting in Trebinje where you'll explore local markets, meet farming families and learn how they've made cheese the same way for generations. The hiking tours really shine this time of year - our travelers love catching the autumn colors while trekking through the Bjelasnica Mountains and visiting hidden spots like Lukomir. History buffs tend to pick tours combining the medieval tombstones at Radimlja with walks through Mostar's carefully restored old quarter. Food-focused travelers go for our harvest season tours where you'll visit beekeepers, try wines from local producers and share meals with families in their homes. The feedback we get shows people really appreciate how the cooler weather makes exploring both cities and countryside much more comfortable, while fall colors add something special to places like the Neretva Canyon, Sutjeska National Park and other scenic spots.

- Winter 2026 / 2027
Bosnia's winter tours combine rich cultural discoveries with seasonal charm, based on what our travelers tell us. Starting in Sarajevo, multi-day packages let you discover the city properly, from the War Tunnel Museum to the Old Town, while learning about local winter customs. The popular 5-day itineraries take you through Sarajevo's historic center, then move on to Mostar, Travnik and also Jajce, where winter adds a dramatic backdrop to medieval castles and cascading falls. Those looking for deeper cultural connections opt for week-long winter tours that include Bijambare Caves, the springs along Bosna river, and fascinating historic towns in Herzegovina like Počitelj and also Blagaj. Our customers often mention how nicely these tours mix indoor cultural visits with outdoor discoveries, and with fewer winter visitors, you'll get more personal attention at major sites. The evenings spent in traditional restaurants and central city hotels get special mentions from visitors who want genuine winter experiences.

- Spring 2027
Spring tours in Bosnia give you plenty to explore, with cultural discoveries and outdoor activities perfectly timed for comfortable weather. The popular 5-day routes start in Sarajevo's historic quarters before taking you to Jajce, where the 25-meter waterfall is peaceful without summer visitors. Our travelers tell us they love how the spring schedule balances city exploration and nature spots, with guided visits to places like the War Tunnel Museum and peaceful stops at the Bosna Springs. If you opt for the 7-day journey, you'll have time to discover the Bijambare Caves, explore traditional highland villages, and also catch seasonal wildflowers across Nišićka plateau. These spring dates work especially well for photographers wanting clear shots of Mostar's Old Bridge and medieval sites without crowds, while giving you space to discover Blagaj's springs and riverside walks. What makes these tours special, according to our customers, is how naturally they blend cultural visits with outdoor activities - your days might start with stories of Sarajevo's diverse heritage and flow into afternoon walks through nature reserves, when spring colors paint the landscape.

- Summer 2027
Our summer tours in Bosnia & Herzegovina blend activity and culture in ways that really work well with the warm weather. Travelers love starting their mornings rafting down the crystal-clear Neretva River and then enjoying casual BBQ lunches right by the water. There's also this great 4WD trip out to see wild horses near Livno that wraps up with sunset views across the Dinaric Alps - it's become a favorite among our guests. For anyone wanting to connect with local life, we've got a tour where families in Sarajevo teach you to make traditional burek, plus you'll taste homemade cheese in mountain villages along the way. The more active routes include swimming stops at Kravica Falls and treks up to Lukomir, a traditional village sitting at 4,820 feet - it's actually Bosnia's highest settlement. Our customers tell us they especially like how these tours mix physical activities with real cultural experiences, so you might spend your morning on a trail and finish your day learning beekeeping from local families.
