For sure a full on fun experience from a sleeping on night buses, to the water buffalos and Basket boat trip. Everytime you are around her you are filled with a warm loving party glow. Sammys vibe and energy is one of the best things- you are guaranteed if she is on your trip to have an amazing time - and if your lucky she can show you how to dance - i have still to learn from her as i have 2 left feet but even watching her dance gets the party going. She is a kind caring & such a helpful guide. Any questions or problems you have she will sure to fix or answer them for you.
I have learnt so much from sammy & i honestly feel she helped give me my life back on this trip. Her motto & outlook on life has given me a different view on my life for the better and im blessed to have had her on my trip. Miss you so much Sammy. Until we meet again.
Itchy - much the same on what ive said he helped give me a better outlook on things "the plan is no plan" haha i learnt so much from him & he was so helpful and kind - a fantastic well experienced guide full of knowledge about travelling and thailand.one of the coolest people ive ever met - he too is one to keep the party going & get everyone's vibes up.
He is so much fun you'll be sure to have an amazing trip if he is on youe tour. His knowledge of thailand & travelling in general was so helpful to me & i learnt alot from him.
I was so sad when he had to leave our trip but was lucky to still have Peter & Sammy joined us which kept the trip being awesome. All 3 of these guides were such a good balance between them and i genuinely feel because of them it was the best trip of my life.
This trip was one of the best holidays of my life - truly the trip that gave me my life back.

All three guides, Sammy, Itchy and Peter were absolutely amazing and quickly made everyone feel so comfortable and at home away from home. The tour itself was incredible, with my highlights being Koh Tao and Khao Sokh, and the guides and the people we met made it even better. Following the tour, we had so much help planning onwards travel from Sammy and have even gone ahead and booked the Phillippines tour with TruTravels, a testament to how much I would recommend the tour and company!

Our guides: Sammy, Itchy and Peter were extremely knowledgeable and knew everything about everywhere we were going. They went above and beyond to make sure everyone was happy and arranged different activities for everyone. Couldn’t recommend the tour more, I loved it so much that I’ve just booked the 10 Day Philippines tour!

Their knowledge of the ins and outs of Thailand made it a breeze for me to just sit back and enjoy the ride. We hit all the major spots and had activities to keep us entertained everyday without it becoming exhausting or overwhelming. This trip was everything I thought it would be and then some. I feel truly blessed to of had such terrific time with the Trutravels crew. I would highly recommend this to first time backpackers and even veteran travellers because the organization and planning is done for you and they know how to take care of their customers. It felt more like a family! I look forward to being in the Trutravellers fam for life!

I did the first ever Vietnam explorer tour and absolutely loved it!!!! I saw everything I wanted and more, things I wouldn't have even heard about without this tour. All the accommodation we stayed in…I did the first ever Vietnam explorer tour and absolutely loved it!!!! I saw everything I wanted and more, things I wouldn't have even heard about without this tour. All the accommodation we stayed in was lovely, particularly the ninvhana hostel (I could've done a couple of nights there) and was a particular luxury getting all inclusive at this hostel as part of the tour. I definitely felt this tour was well worth the money, including that, all the activities and even 2 nights at castaways. The one and only thing I would change is perhaps making the tour a bit longer, maybe like 21 days instead, just as there is so much travelling, and usually only one or two nights at each place, it made all the travelling extra knackering. But apart from that, it was such a wonderful experience. And especially having Sammy and Bo as our tour guides just made this experience extra special for me. Their enthusiasm and involvement with everyone on the tour made us all feel like we were a family by the end of it. I wouldn't just label them as my tour guides, but as friends I will definitely want to see again.

Really felt as if I explored the south to the north of Vietnam- from the rural countrysides cruising over the hai van pass to the beautiful party island deep within Halong Bay- it was incredible. Only recommendation I would give would be to make the tour longer!
Sammy was just amazing- really made the tour. She made us all feel part of a family and was always up for having fun with us- honestly will miss you so so much. Bo you were awesome too- what a character! Always there to provide the humour and give knowledge on what it was like to actually live in Asia for his whole life. Both bloody brilliant- love you guys. Lastly, a big shout out to Matty Cave- awesome videographer and an awesome guy-such a fun addition to the trip!!

The trip was sold to me and my boyfriend differently by someone at STA travel, so we were weary upon arrival but this tour turned out to be amazing the experiences and places we went and were able to …The trip was sold to me and my boyfriend differently by someone at STA travel, so we were weary upon arrival but this tour turned out to be amazing the experiences and places we went and were able to see was breath taking, we seized opportunities and did some things we never thought we would. The accomadation was good at some places however as a couple it was difficult when required to share accomadation not just for ourselves but for others too. This tour was lively with a lot of drinking and partying which was a little too much for me (im old) but we were not forced or made to feel bad about it. Sammy checked on everyone and was happy to help wherever. I will deffo being doing more tours with trutravels :-)

I can almost describe this experience as falling in love. Because even after being home for a few weeks now I still taste Thailand in everything I eat back home, still thinking about it and missing th…I can almost describe this experience as falling in love. Because even after being home for a few weeks now I still taste Thailand in everything I eat back home, still thinking about it and missing the people and the feeling of adventure and discovering not only the culture and ways off a foreign land, but also discovering lots about yourself and others.
Also like with falling in love there is nothing I can complain about, because everything is an experience on its own and something you can laugh about in years to come.
Lastly like you never forget your first love, I will never forget this amazing travel experience, with the BEST group of people(everyone so different but so much the same), best tour guides, best buffets, best toasties and friendliest Thai people.
So thank you TruTravels, Mickey and especially Sammy for making me fall in love with Thailand, traveling and living everyday like its my last

I did the thailand halfmoon experience. Its been real great. This was by far tbe best experience i have ever had one of the best holidays. Koh pangan is going to be my second home one day. The highlights would be the floating bungalows, bottke beach and where we stayed at echo beach they always make you feel at home. Thanks for always letying us feel at home and comfortable and always make sure our littke suid afrikanies stay together in rooms and etc you guys know how to organize. We are gonna mis you, can't wait for my next trip .

I was lucky enough to go along for the trial tour and I can confidently say that future travellers planning on doing this trip in the new year will not be disappointed. Every little detail was thought out, from the accommodation we stayed in to the transport we used to travel the country. So many amazing experiences are included, some of my favourite being the Dark Caves in Phong Nha and Castaway Island in Halong Bay. Both Sammy and David have really poured there passion for traveling into this tour and have made sure you see and experience all the great beauties that Vietnam has to offer. David had so much knowledge to offer up about the history of this country and all the places we visited. Sammy is so full of life and there is never a dull moment with her around.

Travelled on the 23 day Full Moon Island Hopper and it was an amazing experience to say the least. Taking us to some of the most beautiful spots in Thailand even the nation park, showed us where the best nightlife was and filled are days with amazing activities like slip n fly,a wipe out course! lots of snorkelling and boat trips plus many more things! This tour is something I'll remember for the rest of my life, thanks again to Dave and Sammie for being awesome!! I will defiantly be booking with trutravels again☺️

I think it was perfect for my situation .. my first time travelling alone. The tour seems to be aimed at a younger age group and it was everything I was looking for! It lacked on the cultural side but that for me , didn't matter. The tour guides we had (Sammi & Dave) were amazing! Everything that the website advertised was included and sorted! Perfect planning ; nothing seemed to go wrong! and on the quieter days both tour guides suggested alternative things to do. They both knew a lot about the areas and even after the tour ended, helped everyone sort out forward travel / tours. Favourite places were definitely Bottle Beach and Koh Sok .. both away from tourists and the normal backpacker scene! The tour really has chosen a good mix of islands / places and all the accommodation was great! I do think we went to Koh Phangan for too long and 7 days was too much for a lot of the group! But apart from that I've had an amazing tour , met some amazing people and would definitely recommend it to young travellers! Thankyou Dave and Sammi for everything , wouldn't have been the same without you xxxxx

When I met the large group of 24, I quickly forgot that I was a solo traveller.
The guided tour saved me all the hassle of planning out a trip and sorting my accommodation/transport. As the tour guides have great knowledge of Thailand, they knew all the best spots to take us.
I have met so many great people along the way and heard so many insightful stories. Being only 19, I believed everyone was going to be much older than myself, but out here age really is just a number. Everyone is in the same boat and is so sociable.
I'm delighted with the experience provided by TruTravels and would 100% recommend it to future travellers. I would like to say a special thank you to Sammy, Dave and Yo, our incredible tour guides would assisted us in every way possible and made life so much easier. They are genuine down to earth people.

Dave is an absolute legend and made the tour for each person on it! It was a big mixed group and he made sure each individual was happy and having the best time! Not once did I see him stressed or being grumpy; we weren't the easiest group...
Yo was great also, knew everything question you asked him. Made sure everyone was happy and making the most out of their trip. Very organised and kept us all together!
In my opinion I think the tour stays too long at Koh Panghan, also it is very alcohol driven whilst there. Which isn't made clear when booking. Over 7 days in the same place gets quite 'samey'. For people on the shorter tours, spending half of their time there would be very frustrating. People go travelling to do/see things they can't at home.
That's NOT a reflection on the tour guides and the only advice I have for the tour. Apart from that I had an amazing time! So thank you very much!

If there was any kind of issue or health problem with one of our group members she was on it immediately. Sammy was organized, energetic and made sure we were having fun 24/7. Patrick, Hein and Jonjo were also amazing and Jonjo took killer photos throughout the trip. Patrick went above and beyond to help me get my wallet back from a bar in Phi Phi when we were arleady in Phuket (he's pretty much a miracle worker).
This was my first trip to Thailand and I would book with TruTravels again in a heartbeat - they took away all the stress of traveling solo and left me with lifelong memories and new friends from all over the world.

I couldn't thank her enough for everything she did, not just on the tour but the after support for my onward travels. The tour enabled me to visit places I would never have had the chance to do in my own, I couldn't recommend it enough. I've met the most amazing people and made friends for life. My only nit picky point about the tour was the time keeping, I would of liked to have been informed more with accurate times, sometimes we would be waiting around for a while when we were told we were leaving. However this did not have a negative effect on the trip at all. This has been the most amazing thing I've ever done, I will certainly be booking another trip with Tru Travels - they were fab!!

Sammy was our leader and hand on my heart, she was the nicest, kindest, funniest and most helpful tour guide everywhere! There was a group of 5 of us & after the 8 days we were continuing on by ourselves to other islands and also up the north to Chiang Mai. None of us had ever been to Thailand before so we were quite nervous about splitting from the group as we were gonna be out on our own now but Sammy came to our rescue! She gave us advice on where to stay, how to get to places, how long to stay in each place & what to do in each place! She told us to contact her whenever we needed help and she was just the best in every little way! We also had Daniel who was training to be a leader on our tour! Once again, he was so so nice, helpful & funny :) he has a great personality to be a tour guide & if I were to get him as a leader, I would be so happy! He made sure to go around to everyone and ask if they were getting on ok! Himself & sammy worked great as a pair and always made sure to do activities & not get bored! The secret Mountain was also a favourite of mine :) all in all, I would 100% recommend TruTravels, it is so amazing and you will not regret it. I had the time of my life & I'm so happy we went for it as a group! It made everything that bit more easier. Sammy is an absolutely brilliant tour guide and I couldn't have asked for anybody more nicer than her :)

Sammy in particular went out of her way to facilitate everyone's needs, and when I had to miss out on things due to a bad foot/sunstroke, she was always checking in with me via message and would come and see me as soon as they got back. She made me feel welcome from the moment we met at the start of the tour in Bangkok (within the first hour I felt like I'd known her all my life!), and kept in touch to make sure all was ok whilst I was still in Thailand on my own once the tour had finished.
Yo, the new Thai guide, was fantastic also, offering lots of knowledge on the country and culture. He was the one who picked me up from the airport and was really helpful and patient when I had problems at check-in, going out of his way to rectify the issue (which I must mention wasn't actually rectified by the hotel in the end and Sammy had to pay out of her own pocket for me to stay for the night, despite the fact that I had already paid for it before leaving England! Another reason why she is so lovely, but hope this was sorted and she got the money back!). There were a few instances on the trip following the death of the King where I don't think we would have got by without him :)
Harry who we joined up with later in the trip was also great, and Adam who was training at the time - he is going to be an amazing guide :)
There have been a couple of incidents which has left me less than impressed with TruTravels as a company (whoever is sitting in head office needs to think about their paying customers more than the money they must be raking in from them), however I'm not going to write an essay about it as my trip was still amazing and I met some truly wonderful people (including the guides), who I hope to stay in touch with for a very long time :)

What an amazing time I am eternally greatfull for all the people and staff members whom has made it an unforgettable experience. It is by far the most organised trip i have ever been on there was never a moment any of us were waiting for transport, activities or accomodation everything is there waiting for when you arrive. The first 8 days our tour guide Sammy was absolutely brilliant, iv never met a more chilled out amazing person in my life and if you get her as a tour guide you are extremely lucky as she will make sure you have the time of your life and keep everyone safe. My main highlight of the first 8 days was the floating bungalows at Khao Sok National Park, it is definitely somewhere everyone needs to experience. Our original plan was to only stay on the tour for 8 days but after meeting so many friends and having an amazing tour guide we had to extend to the 18. This is where some of our original group left and we joined onto another group where tour guides Harry and Adam joined. Harry is one of the most experienced tour guides and very knowledgeable on Thailand and its Islands, he is very funny and any group would be lucky to have him as their leader. Adam is an up and coming guide who is one of the nicest guys i know and he is 100% going to make an amazing tour guide. My highlight of the last 10 days was when we went to Phi Phi and visited Maya Bay where the film "the beach" was filmed, its definitely a beach like no other in the world and you have to visit it on this tour. I would 100% recommend Tru Travels to anyone and i will definitely be back to visit them again and try somewhere else. I would like to thank Sammy who was there through the whole 18 days and made it so special. Thankyou Tru Travels x

I had originally only booked the 8 day tour but as soon as the opportunity came to extend it to 18 days I could not refuse.This tour allowed me to experience all sorts of different islands in Thailand, many of which I would have never seen on my own. The tour had a great mixture of going out and drinking in many different types of bars and eating out in beautiful restaurants with amazing viewpoints. Our tour guide Sammy was instrumental in ensuring everybody in the group integrated well and the whole group had an amazing experience. When we joined up with our new group, tour guides Adam and Harry were brilliant introducing us to our new group. Without Sammy, Adam, Harry and TruTravels my time in Thailand would never have been the same. A personal highlight of mine was at Koh Sok National Park where we stayed in floating bungalows. An experience I will never forget.

Travelling round with my group would not have been half as much fun with out her. Her zest for life, love of Thailand and endearing madness is infectious, I for one have caught the bug!! Her support when I got sick and had to go to the hospital was overwhelming, I couldn't have got through it without her. All the girls in our group were fantastic and made this scary experience less daunting!
We have stayed in touch and her support and guidance has inspired me so much so that I have decided to leave my job and live the dream, returning to Thailand in March.
There's so much more to see and do and I cant wait to see that mischievous grin again! Much love, Stevie xx

A great tour to ensure you get to see the most and best of Thailand. Started with my tour guides Andrew and olly. With a small group they did amazing to keep us pumped and enjoy Bangkok and the beauty of kho sok and bottle beach. Andrew will always remain in my head for consistently being able to make me laugh!!
At kho phangan, the jungle party and full moon were cancelled due to the king passing, but the tour guides did their best to ensure we still had a good experience and enjoy the best we could. Always happy to let us do our own thing if we wanted.
Moving over to kho toa, my group changed and was bigger with 3 tour guides, Harry Sammy and Adam.
Both Sammy and Adam were always with the group getting involved and felt like part of the little family we had made.
Big shout out to Adam who kept me company in the hospital, never leaving me and always checking I was ok.
The itinerary wasn't exactly what I was sold with sta travel but I was informed it was an error from sta not updating information. Regardless of this, there was always things to do and places to see.
Overall an amazing trip and would highly recommend.

I had an amazing time on the tour!! The accommodations were all very nice. I was traveling with my two friends and we were always together. My absolute favorite day of the tour was going to Khao Sok N…I had an amazing time on the tour!! The accommodations were all very nice. I was traveling with my two friends and we were always together. My absolute favorite day of the tour was going to Khao Sok National Park and sleeping on the floating bungalows. The views were absolutely amazing. The boxing class was very fun and the massage was AMAZING. The sleeper train trip was long but since it was my first sleeper train I thought it was quite fun! The boat trip was super fun and overall the places we went on the tour were beautiful. Everyone was nice and easy going on the trip it was a blast! I didn't expect as much traveling time between places but that can't really be changed! Sometimes there was more downtime than I expected but it was fun to have a mix of time with the group and time to do whatever you wanted. Overall, I loved the tour and would definitely do it again!

The moment I met sammy though I knew our trip was going to be amazing. She seamlessly managed all of the details of traveling. We never had to worry about the stressful parts of traveling like planning amazing things to do, making sure transportation always went through, and feeling safe. Sammy knows so much about Thailand that we were able to experience a more local side of Thailand. While Sammy is a great leader, manager, and keeps track of every detail she is unbelievable fun. It is easy to forget all of the work she puts in to make sure everything goes as plan. I am so thankful that Sammy was my leader. She makes TruTravels look awesome!

Our trip away wouldn't have been nearly as good without the help of our tour guides and I would thoroughly recommend this trip to anyone wanting to travel to the Thai Islands. Even though we had to leave the tour 3 days early in order to renew our visas, Harry, Adam and Sammy helped massively in guiding us on how to travel to Phuket and making sure we made it to our flight on time. We made some great friends throughout the tour and saw some amazing sights in Bangkok, whilst also relaxing hugely on Railey Beach and taking in some breathtaking scenery in Khao Sok. The tour guides made this experience 100x better with their humour and knowledge of the areas.

We experienced the party life and the cool culture we learned along the way, everyday was a new travel and activity. Thailand is such a beautiful place and booking with trutravels is probably the best thing you can do, I will be coming back and hopefully this time with the same tour guides (somehow anyway). Right when I arrived in Bangkok I was greeted with a hug from Sammy and felt totally comfortable being halfway across the world. It was pretty much my first time outside of the US so I was nervous at first but then we got to the hotel and everyone was so friendly and chill. Drew did a great job getting to know everyone and making everyone feel part of the group. The accommodations were great, from the hotel in Bangkok, the floating huts in the national Park, the beachfront houses on Bottle Beach and then the amazing hostel at Echo Beach in Koh Phagnan everything exceeded expectations. Joe, the founder of TruTravels, even met us out in Bangkok and was extremely friendly and fun to talk to. To anyone thinking of visiting Southeast Asia and specifically Thailand, TruTravels will give you an experience of a lifetime. Thank guys and I hope to see you sometime in the future!
P.S. for those not sure about doing the 8 day tour or the 13 day full moon tour, do the full moon! 8 days was too short and I totally wish I stayed for the Full Moon party!

Secondly, you will experience Thailand in its entirety, from the cool cultural activities like a Muay Thai lesson and a temple tour (ahem) to the crazy parties with every stop you make. The trip therefore appeals to all personalities and tastes, and you will never ever be bored! Thirdly, even though you may have trouble getting used to the toilets or you start to go off surviving on Seven Eleven toasties or you lose your phone in the jungle on the penultimate day of the trip, none of that matters because you are in one the most beautiful places on Earth surrounded by amazing people (including the locals, they are hilarious!) and a positive atmosphere that keeps you going throughout the trip. Full moon experience was so good I decided to extend to the island hopping tour and were looked after by Ryan. Have had an amazing time and we've still got 6 days left, I don't want it all to end!
One last mention for how incredible my group was, with 27 of us in total I was apprehensive if we'd all get along but we gelled so quickly and became a huge family instantly!!!!!

There was no favouritism within the group so we all jelled as a family really quickly! A lot of relevant, helpful and correct information was given out to help us along the way, to help us fit in as well as possible with the community, knowing how not to be disrespectful! The girls were a lot of fun, always getting us rarring to go in all situations, they really organised us so we were on time and always involved with what was going on! All information given was really clear and precise!
This tour was so much fun and really feel like the tour leaders made that happen! This was an experience I will never forget!
