I did the Big Tiki in March 2017 and could not imagine a better tour experience. This was my first contiki and first tour in general. We covered basically all of New Zealand in 20 days which is kind of amazing. New Zealand is a breathtaking place and Contiki had it set up well to see everything and book additional tours and experiences that fit your desires. Our tour guide (Susie) and driver (Patty) were fantastic and consistently went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly. I would definitely recommend travelling New Zealand with Contiki. If you can afford the extra time and money, do the Big Tiki as there wasn't a stop we made I wish we didn't!

If made me relax and enjoy the trip as how I wanted it to be. The accomodation was great for the majority and the driving & insights susie and pat gave us made me really happy I chose contiki and not to drive around myself. I had an amazing time and would definitely recommend contiki to people my age!

Our tour leaderw Susie Ferkins and Pat O'Regan were absolutely brilliant. As a team they delivered one of the best experiences of my life and I am sure there are not many tour leaders who can compare in dedication, knowledge, enthusiasm and genuine care for the people on the tour. Throughout our entire journey every effort was made to ensure our individual needs were met - regardless of time, place and condition. Susie's knowledge of every place we visited was incredibly evident - from timeless folk stories, tips of the hidden treasures and facts. And I will never feel safer being driven by anyone besides Pat who also went to every length to keep to schedules but was also relaxed about it all. Not to mention navigating what I am sure are challenging roads and conditions for even the most experienced drivers, without the slightest error.
On behalf of all who were part of this unforgettable experience I just want to say an enormous thank you for being allocated to these two tour (spiritual) leaders' Contiki group. I will certainly be recommending to others and will on board another tour soon!!

The tour was better than expected mostly due Susie's organization, energy, and knowledge. I was not expecting to get so much from the tour manager. I was not expecting to get so much from the tour manager. It was so much more than just getting us from point A to point B. So overall, the tour was unbelievable again mostly because Susie and Max. However, one minor hiccup was getting into a little accident the first day. It was no one's fault and it was out of the tour managers and drivers hands. However, we were over an hour late for a paid excursion (Amsterdam boat cruise) and were only on the boat for 25 minutes instead on 90. also on the last day the photographer did not show up and instead we got a below average group photo which we also paid full price for. I would of liked to maybe get some sort of reimbursement or even a little discount on contiki merchandise because these were excursions we still paid full price for but did not receive. Again, this has nothing to do with Susie's performance because she went above and beyond what I was expecting and she made the trip amazing for all involved. Any trip with Susie is going to guaranteed high energy, fun, and one you'll never forget. I just think a little bit more could have been done on contiki's end in those 2 circumstances.

My contiki trip was absolutely amazing and more than I ever thought it would be. It was fast paced and jam packed full of sight seeing, socializing, relaxing and partying; allowing us to see and do so much in only a three week period. Susie made my trip what it was. She created an unreal vibe on the coach everyday from the music to the introductory talks as we came into each country to her charismatic and friendly personality. She encouraged us to try new things and challenge ourselves with the optional extra activities and she supported us when we needed help with anything from lost passports to bed bugs. Susie was born to travel and share her passion of the world with others.

There was never a dull moment being on the bus everyday, playing games, chatting, karaoke and sharing the experience with 46 other people made it so much more valuable and fun, we all became like family!

Susie is a absolute beauty. Tour was great but should pay for more activities upfront avoiding scramming for money from terrible bank fees and sketchy European bank machines.

Our guide Susie was an absolute legend, who went above and beyond to ensure everyone had a good time, a chance to enjoy each location we visited, and as many optional extras as we wanted.
The South Island is an incredible spot, and the scenery we got to experience, even just on the coach drives, continuously blew me away. Milford Sound and Franz Josef were personal highlights in this regard.
Over the 9 days, you cram a lot of experiences in, so you're going to be tired at times. But Susie did a great job of pacing things out and keeping everyone in high spirits. The included activities, meals and accommodation are great value for money. So, even if you're not intending to go large in terms of extra spending or activities, you'll have a great time with the right attitude.
