From the moment we landed the action was constant. A new adventure every day.
From the great Pyramids , to the overnight train to Aswan, then on a beutifull riverboat cruise up to Lxor, resort in the Red sea, then Back to Giza. Visiting sites daily along the way.
As if visiting all these ancient sites wasn't mind blowing enough on their own, having Hossam Rashwan as a guide through it all was just fantastic.
He kept our group of 19 on track day after day, site after site, consistently delivering information and insight in a professional, thoughtful manner that left us all feeling we couldn't have asked for anything more.
From explaining history and hieroglyphics to recounting ancient myths, to giving us tips on where to get the best deals...
Yes, our illustrious leader went above and beyond to see to the needs of everyone in the group.
We feel blessed to have had him as our guide, and will certainly search him out for our next tour.

From the moment I arrived in Cairo, I was well looked after and didn’t need to worry. Sohaila’s in-depth knowledge of Cairo was fabulous while Hossam, our main tour guide for the rest of the tour, was incredibly knowledgeable, full of energy, hilarious and had great hospitality. The information was tailored at just the right level without being over-detailed and Hossam also let us explore the sites at our own pace. I can certainly say that if I ever needed help, they would be able to assist, even outside of the tour.

The guides were very knowledgeable and looking after the welfare of everyone in the group.
Some room for improvement: I felt that at some sites we were given only limited time to explore ourselves. Especially at the GEM I felt being rushed: our guide led us to selected exhibitions, saying a few words about them, then ushering us to the next. Only at the end were we given free time to explore the Tutankhamun exhibition. I would have preferred a more general overview of the museum at the beginning, then given the opportunity to check out individual exhibits in our own time. Personally I would have gotten more out of it that way.
Overall a great journey to get a first impression of the country, jam-packed with plenty of famous locations and a nice relaxing Nile cruise to boot. For those interested in Egypt's history I do recommend to read up on it beforehand, as this will make it easier to follow the guides'explanations later.

If anyone wants to explore Egypt in short period of time I highly recommend this tour. I loved Luxor city, it is very green and beautiful. Loved to stay more in Luxor. Helnan hotel in Dreamland was great. The Nile cruise was Jaz Celebrity was also great, their hospitality was excellent. Thanks to all the team.

Sohaila Fuad was our first guide, covering the Museum at Cairo and the pyramids, Sphinx etc at Giza. She was very professional and knowledgeable, with a great sense of humour. Her description of the artifacts at the Museum was masterful.
From Aswan our guide was Hossam Rashwan. Hossam has a really impressive command of detail covering each of the sites visited. He created a real atmosphere of fun, organising two birthday celebrations and participating in the evening activities. He is a first class guide, particularly in his ability to troubleshoot and respond to problems experienced by the group.
There were two young children on the tour and both Sohaila and Hossam made a real effort to include them and make things interesting for them.
This is a great tour and I give it top marks at every level, Travel in Egypt, the super guides and the group itself.

Absolutely Amazing!! This was about everything I could have wanted in a trip along the Nile.
Context:
This was my first time in Egypt, and I was traveling with 3 other women in this tour in Oct 2025. We were admittedly a bit nervous about doing this considering how Western media portrays Egypt and given the geopolitical concerns at the time.
Overview:
I felt very well taken care of by Holiday in Egypt. Not only were they responsive, they went out of their way to make sure that my group and I were comfortable. Our tour guide: Hossam Rashawn also went above and beyond to make sure we all had a blast in Egypt and seeing all the historical sites. Egypt proved itself to be an amazing place to travel (not a shocker considering the thousands upon thousands of years of history literally littering the Nile).
Pros:
-This tour is great if you’re looking for culture and history.
-Truly, our guide Hossam (Sam) made such a difference in our experience. I say this because we had previous experiences prior to this tour with other guides who were good, but not nearly as engaged or great story tellers as Hossam. Since we had such a small group we were able to be pretty nimble in crowded attractions and Hossam seemed to have an amazing network that frequently could help us skip longer queues. He was able to answer pretty much every single question we fielded to him, it was the best history class I’ve had! He was incredibly engaging from the moment we met him and made reading the hieroglyphics feel like second nature to us after the first day. By the end of the trip, we were all able to easily recognize Hathor, Horus, the symbols for common pharaohs and important terms. We walked away feeling like we knew more about Ancient Egypt than when we started.
- Luxor is amazing, along with sailing along the Nile. The Nile itself is a treasure trove of sites, and if you take the time to sit on the cruise and take in the passing landscape you’re going to come by random wonders all over the place.
- Abu Simbel is truly a testament to international cooperation and ancient Egyptian culture and is totally worth seeing. The cruise makes sure you are well fed with breakfast boxes.
- I’m a picky eater and a pescatarian, and was able to eat pretty comfortably through the entirety of the cruise. The food was really good and there’s a great array of choices.
- the ships staff is very friendly and they do try to make it a fun time for everybody present.
- most people we interacted with knew a variety of different languages, there was never an issue with understanding and it was cool to practice some of our language skills.
- one of the members of our party is clumsy and had a few snafus, but everybody was incredibly caring in making sure she was ok and well taken care of.
- we were well hydrated at all times, our guide made sure we had water constantly, which is needed on some of those oppressively hot days.
Cons:
In terms of cons regarding the tour - I’m not sure if there are any direct cons, but things you ought to be aware of.
- probably not a trip for a first timer outside of the US, but as a woman if you’ve been out of the country a few times you’d be totally fine solo or with a group of friends.
- these sites are ancient sites with uneven pavement and you will trip if you’re not careful so just pay attention.
- there are some early wake up calls, but they do work in nap times to the schedule accordingly.
- be aware that there is a hustle culture in Egypt and vendors will try to make a sale. Just be firm or ignore them dependent on the situation.
- the tombs in the valley of the kings are tombs, they are not breezy and you will be sweaty because this is Egypt and it’s hot.

We had an amazing time on this tour - the cruise ship was nice, but there are definitely more modern options ;) The sun deck with the pool was super nice to enjoy the free time between sightseeing.

The food was good and there was always an option for vegetarians. More local cuisine would have been nice though.
Our tour guide Hosssam Rashwan was the best, very knowledgeable and passionate about history and also funny. He is very patient and made sure everyone has a good time.
We would definitely recommend this tour!
