Our driver and guide Tom was fantastic navigating us safely around the country. We also had the pleasure of new guides Sophie and Cliff. All 3 guides were extremely knowledgeable, funny, great story tellers and very helpful with all questions, local advice and insights. We really enjoyed seeing and hearing the folklore about the beautiful landscapes of Scotland and being immersed in the culture on this intimate tour. Highly recommend. Thanks for a great tour!

We were hesitant about going on a guided tour but are SO happy we did as it ensured that we made the most of our time in Scotland. Daily routes/stops were planned for the group but you are also able to enjoy your breaks and evenings in each lunch or overnight stop - eat, drink, explore, shop. It was a perfect balance of touring and free time! Our tour guide, Tom, helped make this week one of the best we’ve had so far. The stops along the way, his recommendations, the storytelling, his music playlist, and scenic drive were all just incredible. There truly is never a dull moment. Since we had a small group, Tom was also gracious enough to plan dinner, drinks or live music outings most evenings. We went to all of them (and loved it) but it’s completely optional for each traveler. The accommodations were also all great - clean, spacious and in central locations. Bring activewear and comfortable shoes. Some stops have the option to hike/walk but the views are worth the climb…even in the rain or snow (: Thank you, Tom, for an unforgettable trip. We were so sad to leave but will definitely book another tour (hopefully a longer one) through this company the next time we are in Scotland!

Tom our guide is excellent, kind, knowledgeable, meeting needs of everyone , treating everyone equally and importantly he is a responsible driver . We had very nice people in this tour , each one respected others time and was perfect & on time everywhere. Without this tour i think its difficult to cover major placed of scotland. I must thank both Haggis and Tourradar. Next time in scotland , i will definitely choose this tour companies.

I would like to begin with the most positive aspect of the trip: our tour guide, Tom. He did an outstanding job in ensuring that the diverse needs and preferences of the group were met—whether in terms of the frequency and length of breaks, the choice of activities, or recommendations for dinner locations. From both my daughter’s and my perspective, he struck an ideal balance between providing us with information, telling folk and mystical stories, and sharing Scottish music, while also allowing space to quietly enjoy the beautiful scenery. In short, he was exactly the kind of tour guide one hopes for on such a journey. There were, however, two aspects of the tour that stood out negatively. First, with the exception of one night, our group did not share the same accommodation. This made it more difficult to build a group atmosphere and also created a significant imbalance, as the accommodations varied greatly in terms of location and quality. Some were centrally located and relatively comfortable, while others were more remote or less well maintained. To give one example: my daughter and I stayed at the Muthu Hotel in Oban. While centrally located, the hotel was in very poor condition, offered only very basic breakfast options, and was by far the least satisfactory accommodation during the entire eight days. Second, I would like to highlight the day that centered around the optional Jacobite steam train ride. Unfortunately, tickets could not be secured for us, but the itinerary of the entire day still revolved exclusively around this activity. For those not participating in the train ride, no meaningful alternative program was offered—such as a scenic hike, a museum visit, or another activity. Instead, we spent time in the overcrowded and rather unremarkable village of Mallaig, followed by a lengthy drive in heavy traffic, more or less alongside the train route. This approach would be understandable if the train ride were an integral part of the official tour program. However, since it is only an optional activity, I believe there should be a well-designed alternative for those not taking part. Otherwise, participants risk losing an entire day of their trip, which does not seem appropriate. That being said, I would like to emphasize once more how excellent Tom was as a guide and how much we appreciated the overall design of the tour. The route, the variety of locations, and the overall structure were thoughtfully combined to provide a rich and well-rounded introduction to Scotland. Still, the two points mentioned above remained noticeable shortcomings in an otherwise very enjoyable experience.

I would highly recommend this tour and the guides that took us from the Bronze Age to today through stories and experiences.

However, I was extremely disappointed that the Glenfinnan Viaduct was not included in the tour. This was one of the reasons i did this tour. Our tour was merged with another tour and they followed the itinerary of Haggis tours which didnt do the viaduct in winter . The B and B in Oban was quirky but the bed was horrible. Mattress not supportive at all and if you sat on bed you could feel the base. The heated towel rail in the bathroom was a danger . My partner got a burn from it as the bathroom was tiny and he brushed against it. We informed the staff at reception and they were aware already. Apparently maintence were working through the rooms. If they know the towel rail is burning hot it should be switched off. Please make sure that the buses have a shocel abd

He compiled a curated musical playlist, and even added Big Country on our request, who he hadn't heard of. We saw beautiful sights, the very best of Scotland. The accommodation was very good, and all 4 star with the exception of the last hotel in Inverness. For some unfathomable reason we were put in a hostel-type room where there was no remote, or, indeed, working TV. We had to ask to change rooms, and were put in one that was much improved. I would highly recommend this tour.

It was also very informative with humourous historical accounts. A wonderful introductory to the Highlands that will have you wanting to explore and uncover more of this beautiful land at the end.

Tom’s storytelling skills were excellent, and he would sometimes tell a partial story as we passed a significant site, and tell us he would continue the story when we passed another related site. One concern was the lack of a firm itinerary. We found that Haggis had several Skye High tours occurring at the same time as ours. We wished to have a private room with en-suite washroom, but when we signed up, we were told only dorm rooms were available in the hostels we would be accommodated in. The option to make our own arrangements was available. However, as we did not know the exact itinerary we couldn't do this. As well, we purchased the prepaid accommodation, as we were warned that credit cards may not be accepted where we stayed. This turned out not to be true. On the Isle of Skye at the Hostel we were booked in to in Portree, only the Dorm room was available. We decided to look for a private room, and although in the town square area, there was no availability, after a very short walk we found a B&B which we stayed at for the night. Subsequently, we found other accommodations were also available in the upper town, and along the water front. We did not use the Hostel we paid for in advance. I then called ahead to Morags Lodge in Fort Augustus on Loch Ness, and verified we were booked there for the next evening, and requested the upgrade to private room with ensuite, which I paid for on arrival. There was one hike down to a waterfall, which was a bit challenging for one member of my family, and it turned out when we arrived at the bottom, we could not access the waterfall anyway due to ground conditions,. I believe the tour company should have known this info and relayed that info to our guide. So, other than the hike and the difficulty with a firm itinerary and its impact on lodging arrangements, we enjoyed the trip, the places we saw, and Tom our guide.
