This trip was fantastic, I enjoye…I booked this trip via gap360 as part of a trip deal, the first trip being Bali Intro tour and the second being Komodo Island Hopper with with you guys at TruTravels. This trip was fantastic, I enjoyed every second of it, even though I came down with a cold within the first few days, apart from a few physical restraints on my behalf, the trip itself was easy to partake in.
The sights and locations were beautiful , especially the Moyo island waterfalls. I have to say the highlights for me seeing the Komodo dragons and manta rays, really unique animals that you don't get to see in every day life.
The one thing that tied the whole trip together was our tour guide Freddie, what a legend! Absolutely hilarious (BanterBus) He kept me laughing even when I was curled up in the corner feeling rubbish. He also made me a master of rummy, which I am sure he became to regret in the end haha.
Overall everything was amazing, I've got so many fantastic memories to take home with me. If you're looking for a trip with epic views, cultural insights ad just generally a good time, then this is the trip for you!
100% recommend and I can't wait to try out some more of the trutravels tours!!

Right, let me break it down; first of all I have never done a tour before, so I was very skeptical. However as a young person, the value, range of activities and pure fun of this tour would be hard to…Right, let me break it down; first of all I have never done a tour before, so I was very skeptical. However as a young person, the value, range of activities and pure fun of this tour would be hard to beat.
1) Freddie was amazing, absolute lad about town, very experienced, vert knowledgable - this lad knew where to get a bintang overlooking a beautiful sunset and where to get the spiciest noodles Indonesia has to offer (Chilli Challange)
2) The pricing of the tour was very good - the cultural elements were vey well balanced with the nights out, leaving lots of time to party, recover and even cook up a satay or two! The amount of activities and experiences packed into 10 days was banter!! (Although on the day we hiked I was a little tired at the rice terraces)
3) Accommodation was great - some of the best sleeps I've had. These are not [expletive removed in moderation] hostels, these are plush hotels with infinity pools and fresh watermelon juice!
Bonus Tips:

Freddie was a fabulous tour guide, I always felt well looked after and informed., and ultimately everyone could have a lot of fun with him. I have been on different tour groups before, and this was certainly my favourite. I would not hesitate to recommend a Bali tour (Or any other tour) with Freddie or with trutravels. I only wish I could have stayed for longer. My main advice, if you are considering this trip, is to go for it! I enjoyed evert second. and would recommend whole heartedly. There is something for everyone, you will be well catered for and have a fab time!!

Before I arrived I set myself some personal goals; and I personally feel I smashed them! I was really (and still am a bit) absolutely terrified of bikes and cycling, but I smashed through and I believe it's due to the encouragement and persistent guidance of the group leader (Freddie) an the amazingly kind group I was lucky enough to be placed in.
Thus, it has been amazing, highlights have to be the cooking class, mountain trek and monkey bar.
Plenty of ice, bintangs and cocktails later and I feel so content and raring to tackle OZ. I'll miss Bali, Gili T and my amazing family, beyond compare, but I;ll carry with me the crazy memories and laughter in my heart, always

100% recommend this trip, the group leaders were really fun and made us feel at ease if we had any problems. Very well organised, having done so much over 10 days. Was really great that we spent a few nights at each different place and not spending the whole time on a bus.

For me, perfect balance of activities and doing stuff, and having chill time to yourself. Also having the option of going out whenever and having that flexibility, definitely felt that it catered for everyones needs.
Couldn't have had a better guide than Freddie. So sound and cool, knows his stuff, great at his job. Can't speak highly enough of him.
Really don't have anything bad to say about the tour to be honest. Price organisation, fun, transport, accommodation, everything I couldn't have asked for better. Will 100% recommend to friends and most likely will book another trip with you guys!

I have never done a group holiday before but thankfully we had a great group with good crack! Food was excellent, sometimes it can be so hard to choose places as my girlfriend is vegetarian and fussy so it's so much easier when the group leader can sort you out with good food gaffs

The food is so tasty and spicy - loved it! Our tour guides were such warm, friendly and fun people - always willing to help/provide useful information. We were so amazed at how so many activities and popular experiences could be fitted into such a short amount of days.
Definitely a great choice for our first overseas trip as a couple. Our tour group was so lovely. By the end of the tour i've made some i've made new wonderful friends from all walks of life. I will treasure these memories + experiences for the rest of my life. Would definitely recommend this trip to my family and friends.

I feel like all of the guides went out of their way to get everyone involved and make everyone feel comfortable, whilst also giving people freedom to do their own thing as well. Bali itself was really beautiful and i think the wide range of activities gives a great insight of life here and it's a good introduction. I feel like I have learnt a lot.

okay, so I have always wanted to travel long haul. I have been dreaming of paradise since I was very young but I have never had the courage to take that leap. Maybe I didn’t believe I was capable or maybe I was scared. True travels was recommended to me by a very good friend, the price was so cheap I couldn’t really say no. The whole trip set me back about £1500 but honestly I would spend that and more 10 times over. This company did all the hard work for me and I didn’t have to worry about a thing. The first night meeting your group members is a little weird but everyone is in the same boat, everyone wants to learn, travel and have fun and the group bond builds over time and I have made connections I never want to forget. The locations are absolutely breathtaking they were everything I have dreamt of and more. But honestly it’s the group leader Freddie that really made this trip amazing, he gave so much information, he truly cares about all of the places he takes you to and it’s his passion for the island and its culture and people that really gives this tour the edge. I know it’s cliche but it has really changed my life, it’s taught me about the world and its people. We are all one, regardless of where we come from. We all want to experience the earths beauty and trust me, 100% you will experience that and so much more. I never travelled long haul before I never believed I could do it, but this company and its staff have opened the door mentally and emotionally for me. I’ve got the bug now, I need to continue to travel. Thank you trutravels. Thank you Freddie, for educating me, inspiring me and helping me to believe anything is possible. The tour guide was really helpful and did a great job ensuring that the trip was as good as possible.
It was brilliant to try out stuff as part of the tour which I would not have done if I was travelling on my own.
The whole preparation before the trip worked out well and was nice and uncomplicated. Communication with the guide and Trutravels worked completely fine.

My favourite experience was the cooking class. It was a great laugh and was lovely to listen to the Indonesian people talk about the food and culture. The rice fields were also pretty banging. It was a hot, sweaty day but was well worth it. I would totally recommend Trutravels to a friend and can’t wait to do some more tours!

There was a great balance of culture (cooking class, Wayan and his family, food and traditions) as well as snorkelling and seeing beautiful waterfalls, surfing and nights out.
The trip is something I’ll never forget and the experiences I’ve had will stay with me forever.
Freddie took us to all the best places for food and as I’m vegetarian (he is too!) he made sure to recommend the best dishes at every restaurant.
Every person I met was very kind and welcoming all the way throughout the trip, we were lucky to have such a great group as well as an outstanding tour leader.
I’m already planning my next Trutravels trip with my friends.

The cooking class was fantastic with a lovely local family that included a trip to the local markets and rice fields. The surfing was great fun. My favourite activity was the snorkelling day trip round the gili islands with the highlight being swimming alongside a turtle. Freddie was a great leader, he was attentive, always full of energy and had great knowledge of the culture. I was a little worried about being one of the older people in the group but it was never an issue. It was also a great experience mixing with different people all from different backgrounds. I would really recommend this trip as it’s a great way to see Bali etc and I feel I got more out of this trip than if I had done it on my own.

Having a ‘get to know’ game at the start of the trip would be a really good icebreaker for the group and would help avoid cliques.
Freddie was an awesome guide! So professional and respectful to everyone in the group and all staff/suppliers. Really organised and time kept well but at the same time really easy going and fun.

I enjoyed the 2 nights on the boat so much, the crew was so nice and the food was all delicious. We did so much unforgettable things and I would recommend it to anyone!! Freddie was a amazing tour guide, always happy and helpful.

The boat accommodation wasn't the best but the activities we did more then mad up for it,so it ended up being the best part of the trip!

The accommodation was excellent, always clean and the beds were spacious. Would defo recommend to a friend. The value for money is good all roughly £5 a meal which is good for students.
My favourite activities were snorkelling, partying, rice terraces and the mountain climb.

I think it would be more optimised more, I personally would have liked to live on the boat for the entire duration. There were many travel days, so it would have been nice being on the boat rather then ferries/ cars. Also I would have liked to have more trekking, though I am sure others could disagree. The beach day/ repeated waterfalls would get old, did get a bit old for me! (Although they were still a tone of fun!) Outside of the tour itself, Freddie was really good at informing people and a pleasure to be around, also very patient which everyone, very accommodating to everyones dietary requirements/ physical abilities etc! The Organisation on the tour was also good and proactive! Especially with all the arrival information, even though I didn't know until the day before!

I absolutely like that our guide isn’t the kind of guide that I expected. More like a group member. He’s very entertaining and makes people laugh the whole time.
Everything is pretty well organised: airport pick up, bus transfer, ferry... all on time! Very nice accommodations which can make you relax as well.
Because Freddie knows a lot of locals who on some days join the group it doesn’t feel very touristy.
The different activities were so much fun e.g. snorkelling, surfing, temple visit. There’s been no activity that I didn’t like!
I’m doing this tour in the off time from the office. It’s always hard for me to forget about work but on this tour I’ve managed to absolutely relax from work.

The food on board was phenomenal and the crew were always helpful. The snorkelling at pin beach was the best I've ever done and the hikes were like no other! Freddie was such an enthusiastic, fun, caring and amazing tour guide! He always made sure everyone was having fun and kept a positive atmosphere even when everyone was tired and seasick! Thanks so much for such an amazing tour, I'll never forget it!

Also it was amazing how great all the accommodation was. Having rooftop pools and breakfast included was perfect and helps to make the trip great value for money.
All the nights out were extremely fun with our guide always knowing the best places to go. Genuinely was such a good time and having a big group was so nice but it still felt like everyone was catered for. All in all In was an amazing experience that I will never forget!

The only thing I would change about this tour which I wasn't expecting when I had booked it, is that the 9 day tour is also part of a 10 day Bali tour at the beginning. I think it would be better if this was a separate tour because in my experience it was a small group so the tagging a long sometimes felt exclusive, it would be better if the tour started separately from the Bali tour so everyone is new to the group at the same time, which would make it easier to get to know everyone! But overall the itinerary is amazing and Freddie was a very fun group leader!

The highlight of the trip was seeing a ton of dolphins on the boat to Moyo. Moyo island was also amazing and it was my favourite part by miles. The homestay we ate at was so pretty and
My least favourite part was living on the boat, cause I found it was horrid sleeping on a rocky boat, I would never do it again. All in all I’ve had a fantastic time and I will be recommending Trutravels to my friends and family. I loved the boat in the day just not in the night.

Only issue we had was with a public bus to Sumbawa that broke down, with the size of the group determining the transport which kind of sucks being driven by a maniac, wasn’t great.

Highlights for me were the manta rays and the Komodo dragons. Accommodation is pretty basic most of the trip but I expected that with the price of the trip and previous experiences in Indonesian hotels. Be prepared to eat Indonesian food for 3 days whilst on the liveaboard, it is delicious though. Definitely take sea sickness tablets as the boat can get rocky overnight. Overall the tour was well planned out, nice and active and just all together a great time!

The surfing was great at Kuta beach, minus the many falls. We went out for the most epic of parties while watching the sunset at the most beautiful beach club (Finns). Ubud was epic! The markets, cooking class, rice terraces all made the Bali experience.
Gili T has been an amazing way to finish off the experience. Snorkelling with turtles, boat trips and massive parties which were awesome. In all an epic experience of Bali!

We had so much fun doing all the activities and had great recommendations from Freddie on additional activities and experiences. Having not known many people on the tour, it was enjoyable getting to know everyone and bonding as a group.

Freddie went out of his way to make sure every person felt heard and included even the difficult members of the group.
He also made sure we had ample of time, info and resources to plan every excursion and outing, even those of our choice. I loved how all the locals knew him by name and he managed to get us discounts and the best rates possible.
He also completely embodies the “Bali vibe” and makes you feel at ease with his humour, sarcasm and endless jokes of varying degrees of funny.

We all feel like we know him very well and he knows us. He was so good at informing us at every place we went to and he knew the answers to all our questions. I've unfortunately been very accident prone in Bali but Freddie was excellent. He stayed with me when i couldn't do the activities and carried my bags when i couldn't. He also made sure we got home safe every night. I've enjoyed all of the activities that were included especially surfing. Also would've enjoyed snorkelling if I wasn't too hungover to get off the boat. Would 1000% recommend Trutravels and Freddie to anyone. Loved Bali and Gili T and now can't wait for my Trutravels Thailand trip! Can only hope it's as good as this one. Thank you Trutravels!!

Wayan the local tour guide was brilliant and I learnt a lot about the Balinese culture while at the temples and rice terraces. Wayans family at the cooking class were amazing too.

I loved the cooking class mostly because you were welcomed into a family home, and they taught us so much about Balinese life and various traditions which I loved. The cooking class itself was a good way to bring the group together a bit more. The snorkelling day was perfect I am so happy to have finally swam with turtles! Just basically thank you to Johan and Freddie for being so welcoming and making the nights so much fun.

It was amazing! We struggled a bit at the rice terraces after the trek, it did seem a bit rushed at times, but we had so much included. It was nice to have some chill time at the Gillis. The guides also made the trip and were cool with our decisions if we didn’t want to do something.

Our leader Freddie always made sure we were all included and were having a great time. I was worried about travelling alone before this tour but after meeting loads of new people and doing some amazing activities I can’t wait to do it again! My favourite activities were the rice terraces and surfing, I genuinely thought I’d never get on a surfboard. I would 100% recommend this trip to anyone!

The one day of temples was good as it was nice to see the cultural side of Bali however the extra day of temples in Lovina seemed a bit unnecessary. The itinerary overall was very diverse but maybe make the cooking class a bit later as I was very hungover to go and felt tired. Maybe change the temple day in Lovina to a day by the pool/beach because those facilities were very nice. All the info on the tour was amazing but maybe be a bit more clear on the tax that is added on dinners so I could properly budget. Overall it was so much fun, I loved everyone on the tour. It was a shame we couldn’t go to gilli because of the earthquake but everyone made Lovina super fun! Much love xxx

Freddie is still very young and quite new to being a tour guide however I have no doubt in my mind that with a bit more experience he’s going to be incredible. He was very easy to talk to and everyone felt very welcomed and comfortable around him.
We were disappointed with the restaurant choices. It was apparent we were going to places that had been pre organised by tru travels for some sort of benefit to them. The food was often on the pricier side and not of great quality so I think it should be down to the group to make the decision as this was a big disappointment.

Freddie did the best job of making sure that all 18(!) of us were in check, his organisation was something to applaud. Such a lovely guy, who constantly gives off good vibes to everyone around him. We were so incredibly lucky to have such a positive, easy-going group - as well as Freddie and a 5* itinerary. We did so much in the time we were there - I didn't know you could fit so much into such a short space of time! Absolutely loved it, wish I could do it all again. Thank you Freddie, and everyone for the best memories <3

I wished the itinerary included more details about the accommodation and sharing rooms as the other tours have more details about this! The meals included were all lovely except one but you get a lot for what you pay in this tour!! Our guide Freddie was so much fun and generally a lovely guy! He was so enthusiastic and energetic throughout and made a realy effort to make sure everyone was getting involved! He could have been a bit more professional at times but there is no doubt that he is a brilliant tour guide!! When I was ill he made a conscious effort to check I was ok and took my bags when I wasn’t feeling well! His kindness and friendlyness made the tour even more enjoyable and stress free! I would definitely recommend this tour!

Our guide, Freddie, was brilliant. It was like going away with a (really organised) mate. An absolute legend with the stamina of a marathon runner and an attitude that always brought out the best in everyone.
The group was a fantastic mix of different people that all brought something to the experience.
In summary, it was probably the best holiday I’ve ever been one. It really “left its mark” on me.

I would've liked more information fromniur guide on the places that we visited. I felt that as the tour went on the focus shifted from the country of Cambodia to the bar.
Overall, a good experience. I would recommend changing the hostel in Siem Reap, it was far below the others in all aspects.

My tour guides were Ben and Freddie, they both worked great together. Ben had the cultural knowledge, speaks the local language and helped us organise the journey back to Bangkok after the tour had finished. Freddie was very knowledgeable about the country, he kept the group well informed with the itinerary, was always making sure he was doing what the group wanted e.g. some people would want to head out for the night, Freddie would accompany the group, knew the local places to go and would always ensure we had a good night!
There are early starts to the tour but I found this to be a great thing as we would reach the next destination by lunch time and had time to relax. Although everyday consists of different activities the tour also provides time to relax and venture off alone if wanted. The group was a mix of people from various places around the world, the tour guides made the effort to make sure everyone felt welcome and interacted.
I would definitely travel with Tru Travels again and highly recommend the experience.

Freddie made sure we all had a great time and made sure we also had many great laughs, I recommend tru travels to anyone looking for a tour company and especially recommend having Freddie as your tour leader, A+ Freddie, exceeded my expectations by leaps and bounds. Thanks very much for making my trip one I'll never forget. Met great people and everyone in our group was ready and willing to explore Thailand, awesome work guys.

So many fun events planned. I think the good energy was facilitated by the tour guides. BEST TOUR GUIDES EVER. They were so involved and extremely hands on. Freddy was hilarious, always making jokes, making everyone feel comfortable and always so helpful making sure everyone was good, accounted for, taken care of, and involved. He really motivated people to get involved in activities by being the first to participate himself. Ben was knowledgeable about Thai culture (for obvious reasons), but was also so fun loving and friendly with everyone. I got sick and had to stay in from dinner, both Freddy and Ben came to check up. Everyone from TruTravels was so genuine and were so keen on making the experience a memorable one for us. Would definitely do another tour with the company! Thanks for everything
