Caitlyn was amazing! She tells stories like no one I have ever met, and is constantly teaching you all about the Scottish history, which is really why we chose a tour over self-driving. The learning was my favorite bit about this tour and a big well done to Caitlyn for driving, DJ-ing (with great music) and teaching, all at the same time.
The bus was always clean and comfortable and the whole tour was very COVID friendly.
The hotel was a pleasant surprise, and was very clean. We ate as a group on the first night at the hotel which my husband and I both loved and wished we could have done it on the second night too (be warned that the Isle of Skye is soooo busy you need to book a table for dinner before you go on the tour!).
The tour itself was incredible and Scotland was just beautiful. I highly recommend the train trip.

The places we were taken allowed us to see so much of Scotland and really learn about the history, and the many historical and folklore stories told by the guides made an already fantastic tour perfect. The guides were so down to earth and felt more like a friend travelling with you than a guide, and their passion and love for their country really shone through. As soon as I finished the tour, I was already looking at their other tour options and planning the next time I could take one. 11/10 recommend

I didn't realise how magical this trip woul…On a brisk morning in Edinburgh I hopped on a Haggis Tour bus ready to enjoy an easy cruise around the country, maybe party a little and take in the sights. I didn't realise how magical this trip would become when Caitlin hopped in and started driving. Throughout the trip we were regaled with tales of Scotland's rich history, facts about the country and its people, fairytales and folklore, and an endless amount of hilarious banter. Around every corner was something that took my breath away and while I kept thinking it couldn't get any better I was proved wrong every time. As magnificent as the country is on its own, Caitlin's vibrant energy, chipper mood, and extensive knowledge made the adventure twice as magical as it would've been on its own. Hearing someone so passionate about their people and their past was constantly inspiring, and she took us all under her wing and made us feel like a part of the clan. Probably the only pain point for the tour was Portree's hostel, which simply didn't have enough space for 5 people and bags in the dorm, but we also ran into Charlie there and he joined the tour. He brought some huge entertainment value and added his own fair share of songs and stories, and the two had some great banter with each other as well. Both guides had an answer for any question I threw at them, whether it was about history, whisky, people, or just life in general. It was a bittersweet goodbye as the tour came to an end. Caitlin shared the songs Iron Sky and Caledonia, which I'm sure are a staple for these trips, but again made that much more magical through her personal passion and love for Scotland. I took over 1000 photos but it's those songs that will bring me back here for years to come, and remind me of the amazing adventure I experienced thanks to Haggis Tours, Charlie, and especially Caitlin.

My favorite parts are the isle of skye, the many nature walks, and all of the Scottish history. Caitlin and Charlie are very knowledgeable and entertaining and made this one of the best tours I have been on. Scotland is now one of my favorite countries, and I definitely want to come back.

I had the most amazing 5 days touring the Highlands and the Islands with Caitlin as your driver and guide.
Even before we had left Edinburgh I was totally mesmerised by her storytelling. You could…I had the most amazing 5 days touring the Highlands and the Islands with Caitlin as your driver and guide.
Even before we had left Edinburgh I was totally mesmerised by her storytelling. You could really tell she loves her country and knows everything there is to know about Scotland. And she has a great sense of humour and an amazing selection of tunes to go with her stories. As I driver she is also great (I don't know how she can drive and tell her vivid stories all at the same time) and even on the narrow hillside roads I felt safe having her behind the wheel.
The itinerary of the 5-day tour was very versatile and well-planned. We had take-away lunches on the go that saved us time to explore as many places as possible. And enough time to relax in the evenings. Caitlin was always very informative on what to take with you, how long until the next restroom break etc. which made action-packed days even more enjoyable. We were also fortunate to have the greatest weather possible with no clouds on the sky while visiting for example Luskentyre Beach and Skye which I heard was quite rare for September.
The bus itself was clean and modern with good air con. Afterwards I head that it was one of the oldest that Haggis has and a lot of people were complaining that the seats were a bit too narrow and uncomfortable for the longer transits. We also had the misfortune of our bus breaking down on a Saturday afternoon in a remote place with no cell phone reception. Caitlin kept her cool and made the necessary arrangements for us to get a replacement bus and we were back on the road in no time without missing any of the stops planned for the rest of the day.
It had been 15 years since I had last stayed in hostel dorm rooms and that was the part I was the most apprehensive about on this trip (unfortunately solo travellers can't book private rooms). The hostels in Stornoway and Loch Ness very actually amazing with comfortable beds and ensuite bathrooms. The hostel in Portree was less great but it was ok since we only stopped there for one night.
All in all I'm so glad I got out of my middle-aged comfort zone and booked the Hebridean Hopper tour with Haggis and Caitlin. What a great way to see a great country and have a good time with your like-minded fellow travellers!

We had a little mishap where the bus broke down (completely out of anyone’s control), and Caitlin handled it so well! Immediately got us a replacement bus, which is hard to do on a weekend and with no signal, but she made it all effortless for us passengers. In no time at all we were back on the road hearing her wonderful story telling and great music. Thanks for sharing your deep Scottish love with us Caitlin :)

Before the trip began I expected to sit on a bus for a few hours, sleep, get to the destination, take some pictures, and then get on the bus and sleep some more. This is not what happened in the slightest and I could not be more happy about it. From the minute Caitlyn arrived, she was full of energy, accommodating and excited to meet us. You rarely meet someone who has more heart than Caitlyn, and she does such an amazing job sharing her love. She is such a great storyteller and worked very hard to engage our group. The way she shared the history, mythology, and politics of Scotland with us transformed my experience of Scotland, making it the most meaningful trip I have ever been on. On a tour that I'm sure she's lead many times, she made it personal and unique for us. I cannot wait to return to Scotland, and when I do I fully intend to go on another tour and I couldn't imagine doing it with a different company or a different guide. I am completely in love with the Highlands and Scotland because of this tour. There is not one thing I would have changed about it.

Throwing her own personal tales in along with those of local folk lore and genuine history (and perhaps a fib or two along the way), and music selections, she keeps the long drives between stops an engaging part of the trip. Caitlin was able to rearrange the order of our stops to accommodate the ever-changing weather to maximize our enjoyment. Upon arriving to pick up my group, Caitlin jumped out of the bus and ran over to greet us and help us get going. To my amazement, she kept this upbeat energy going throughout the entirety of the three days. One of my favorite aspects of the trip was Caitlin’s commentary during the bus ride. She is someone who is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about Scottish history which was clear after her very first story. After listening to these incredible and inspirational stories over the course of the three days, I feel that I have learned a great deal about Scottish history and have also become passionate about the issues that Caitlin brought to my attention.
` In addition to Caitlin’s vast knowledge of history, I was amazed by her knowledge of the landscape. During our trip, she navigated the roads and hiking paths confidently which allowed me to enjoy the scenery free of stress. She also enhanced my enjoyment of the scenery by pointing out unique landscape features and telling stories attached to these features. Many of these stories are ones that I feel that I will never forget. Overall, Caitlin was funny, energetic, charming, knowledgeable and just an amazing person to be around. I truly feel that my experience over those three days would not have been as great without her.

I have to say it was SO MUCH FUN and even better than I expected. Not only did we not have to worry one bit about the travel details, I was unprepared for how much more I got out of the experience with the benefit of our guide, Caitlin. For one thing, our tour had a SOUNDTRACK! The music was thoughtfully arranged to coincide with the sights and mood of the moment. I will never forget listening to Loch Lomond after Caitlin's heartfelt telling of the tragic history of that place; nary a dry eye on the bus - least not mine! Caitlin's stories (Scottish history, faery legends and hilarious exploits of her fellow tour guides) kept us enthralled despite the many miles we covered in a short time on this tour. The tour was well-timed, the sights speak for themselves, and the accommodation and food was excellent, but to have the benefit of such a talented and enthusiastic tour guide was what made this tour worth it.

As soon as we were underway, our guide Caitlin put our fears at ease. She had the uncanny ability to connect individually with everyone on the tour. The tour started out with several hours of driving to get to the Highlands. Caitlin interspersed Scottish tales and music to break up the drive. She also made sure to weave in some brief stops at attractions not formally on the tour itinerary to keep us active.
The most significant quality of Caitlin is her passion and enthusiasm coupled with the love of her country and heritage in the Highlands. This passion made every story and description of sites much more relevant.
After such a wonderful experience on Caitlin’s tour, we are ready for more group tours. Thanks again to Caitlin for making our holiday a success.

Hats off to our guide Caitlin. She is an utterly entertaining and passionate individual with storytelling skills of pure magic. Loved seeing the connection with her country. She was so knowledgeable about historical facts, folklore and Sean Connery house parties (that's a story for another day). Caitlin also had a cracking playlist that perfectly timed in with her stories and the areas we were driving through. She must be a wizard!
I thought the itinerary was great. It was free for adaptation depending on the weather. We didn't waste time stopping for a sit down lunch, we stocked up in the morning giving us more time to get in the sights!

Always enthusiastic and hard working, even when ‘off duty’, she frequently entertained us with tales of Scotland’s historical events and mythical stories related to the various stop off points, delivering these with energy and clear detailed subject matter knowledge. During the course of the 5 days (and since) many of us made friends we’re likely to stay in touch with for a long time and have linked up on social media groups to share our photographs & memories. I’ve never been on a fully guided, multi day tour before so I really didn’t know what to expect. I figured the days might be busy considering all the …Buckle up, kids, this is gonna be a long one.
I’ve never been on a fully guided, multi day tour before so I really didn’t know what to expect. I figured the days might be busy considering all the ground we would cover, but other than that, I went in totally blind.
In all honesty, Haggis’s Heberdian Hopper blew me out of the water (er...loch). If I had any expectations before the trip started, those were exceeded 10 fold.
Firstly, the itinerary was busy, but I knew this going in. There wasn’t a whole lots of free time, as we needed to stick to our schedule, but that was fine for me. Oftentimes, the places that we visited were small, so they could be explored quickly anyways. The places that we visited (Isle of Skye, Isle of Lewis and Harris, Scottish Highlands) we’re jaw dropping’s beautiful. We had gorgeous weather, which definitely helped, but the places we visited seemed to have jumped right out of a painting. I honestly can’t say which part of the trip was a highlight for me, because everything was so incredible. The itinerary is something I would recommend those wanting to visit the more remote areas on the islands, but don’t have the means to rent a car and drive it yourself. The company takes care of all transportation, including your ferry tickets, so you don’t have to worry about anything.
Accommodation was 4 nights in hostel accommodations (multi shared, sometimes mixed rooms). I absolutely adored the Heb Hostel in Stornoway, where we stayed 2 nights. I’ll never forget snuggling into the couch in their warm living room, watching the peat in the fireplace crackle and smoke. We also stayed in the Portree Independent Hostel, which was nice enough, but some of the beds were quite wobbly, the rooms were larger (more guests) and it felt less cozy. There also weren’t a whole lot of outlets to charge any devices. Lastly, we stayed in Morag’s lodge for our final night. The only thing I can honestly complain about is not being able to stay there longer! The rooms were clean, lots of chargers and a nightlight built right into your bed, and hostel only s small group of people. They served a delicious dinner cooked by the staff, and a hearty continental buffet breakfast the next morning. They also packed take away lunches for the group that was continuing onto a larger Haggis tour and therefore, needed to leave in the morning. The location, in Fort Augustus, was also optimal.
Lately, who would I be if I did not spend a bit of time talking about our dear guide Caitlin. I don’t think you could find a better tour guide if you searched across all the Glens and mountains in Scotland. She was always professional, funny, insightful and energetic. Oh, the energy! I’m a bit younger than she is, but she made me feel like an old lady in comparison! Her deep love and passion for her country is palpable, and really infected (in a good way!) everyone on the trip. I’ll never forget us standing in the rain at the Culloden Battlefield Centre in front of Caitlin, who, with such passion, told us of the tragedy that befell the Jacobites on that field. I’d been to this memorial a few times previously, but never really felt the gravity of the events that occurred until she explained them. She was also a superb driver- she managed to maneuver the Golden road with ease and made our journey as smooth as possible. I think all guides should aspire to be exactly like Caitlin- she is a true representative of her industry and should be used as an example for all future drivers with Haggis.

Caitlin, native guide and driver, was fantastic. She was so friendly, sweet, energetic, and fun. Her passion and love for Scotland permeated the whole trip. Her ability to keep us on the edge of our seats with incredibly detailed stories while expertly maneuvering the bus through the narrow roads of the islands was spectacular. I never thought I would ever want to do the same tour twice until I went on this tour with the magnificent Caitlin.

I loved how the trip felt 'off-the-beaten-path' and didn't feel like just every other tour company, but felt like a local run company that actually cares. The itinerary is great, but that's something you can tell just from looking at it. They put so much work in to make sure the group has a great time. It feels like they're just as excited to be there as you are, even though they've been about 20 times every year.
Have the expectation going in that you'll be on a bus quite a bit. I think that's a given especially with the amount of ground that this tour covers, but you'd be surprised how many people get annoyed about it. While you're traveling, they will point out interesting tidbits and include fun stories. If you're booking private rooms, you might not be staying in the same place as the rest of the group, so I can only speak to the hostels where we all stayed together and the accommodations were good. There were several age groups on the trip and I definitely think it would be accommodating of all ages and interests. I would suggest pre-paying for everything if you're able. It will make your time just a little bit easier. If you're having any doubts about booking this tour, just do it. It's a great company, with great people and exceeded our expectations.

I learned things that I wish I had known my whole life that made me fall even deeper in love with Caledonia than I ever had before, even to why I have SO much Scottish Heritage from both sides of my family and all sides of theirs. My absolute favourite was our time in Stornoway and the rest of Lewis and Harris, and now I want so badly to come back and see more.

What an amazing and absolutely incredible trip I have just finished. I’ve been on a couple of tours before and have been lucky enough to have some amazing guides, but Caitlin absolutely smashed my already high hopes for a good tour guide following my last great ones. She is hands down the best tour guide and one of the most amazing people I’ve been lucky enough to meet, not only on my travels so far but in all of my life. It’s truly inspiring to meet someone so passionate about their country, and so full of love for every part of Scotland. That passion shines through in her job too, she goes to incredible lengths to make sure everyone has a great time and loves her country as well and she always felt like a friend, not just a tour guide. I was already sure before I came that I would fall in love with Scotland, but experiencing it with such a lovely tour group and learning so much about Scotland and it’s history while having so much fun just made the amazing sights all the better. I could really go on about Caitlin and my tour all day! She really made what would’ve been a great trip absolutely incredible, and I’m 100% certain everyone else in my tour group would agree. The only game fault I’d have with the tour was that it wasn’t long enough! Though now I have an excuse to come back! I’ll definitely be booking another tour with Haggis Adventures when I return in the future, but my next trip will be a longer one. The trip was so awesome and breathtaking that I couldn`t even close my eyes during time in our bus (when I was a bit sleepy) because I was afraid to miss some of the views outside. Our hostel was clean and nice, so staying there was also a pleasure. The bus was also very comfortable, so I was not tired of being in it.

She entertained us, kept us engaged (and safe on those roads), and really made the trip for me. She was very considerate as well, making sure we were comfortable. She asked us to tell her if the temperature of the bus was ok, as well as the volume of the music and her commentary. Her passion, enthusiasm and love for her country was evident as she guided us around the highlands and I really think our trip would not have been as much fun without her! My favorite parts of the trip were the Jacobite steam train, the cèilidh, Caisteal Maol and Glen Coe.

Would 100% do another Haggis Tour, especially if Caitlin was at the helm.

The tour guide, Caitlin, was the best guide we have ever seen. If it wasn’t for her, this tour could have been just like any other tour.
We’ve seen a lot during 5 days. From old cities to remote coastline locations. Caitlin was always informative and she knew every detail of Scottish history pertinent to our present location. She knew how to present information in interesting way and she’s always had some music to compliment her story.
Because of her, the entire bus of tourists had a blast during entire trip.
We loved the way the entire tour was organized. We were able to choose between local hotels or B&B locations for each night stay. They were always walking distance from the center of each town. The tour guide were always informing us of best local places to eat or shop.
I’m glad I did not have to drive during this trip because there are lots of small roads with lots of turns in Scotland. The driving skills of our drivers were amazing.
This Highlands Tour will always be our the best tour ever. I say that because Scotland is a beautiful and magical place. Me and my wife were so happy to chose Highland Explorer as our tour company for our vacation.

Caitlin made the group feel welcomed and constantly engaged, encouraging participation and conversation. Time spent in different locations never felt rushed and I always had enough time to look around.
The songs and talks in between locations were the HIGHLIGHT (not just the strawberries) of the tour - especially the interesting choices for Bonnie Prince Charles.
My expectations were completely blown out of the water. I could not be more satisfied with the experience and will never forget the time I had in Skye! Thank you so much Caitlin!

I was entranced throughout the entire bus tour because I felt connected to the history that I hadn’t learned in school before. I was constantly reminded of one of my favorite Disney films, Brave. I loved the movie because of its cultural inclusions of the symbols, myths, clan systems, and strong will of the characters which resonated with the manner of the country. When I started seeing and hearing about the differences between the Highlands and the Lowlands I was enamored by the beauty of the landscape. I felt like I was in a fairytale. Of course, the stories may have helped me imagine unicorns, fairies, mountainous sisters, and rivers of youth and beauty. My disbelief was effectively suspended because the stories went back far enough and were passed down consistently enough for them to be legends. With the historical stories about Scotland, the Jacobite uprisings, the feud between clans, and conflict over the Crown, I was at times shocked, horrified, and deeply saddened. Not unlike the horrendous atrocities that occurred in my own countries history, I think the history of Scotland has shaped the culture and values for today’s inhabitants. There is a true sense of perseverance within the Scottish peoples and their willingness to share their culture to prevent its erasure is inspiring to someone like me, who is also unable to trace my personal and ancestral history back, and who also has had my culture outlawed, bastardized, criminalized, and erased. The disconnect between the Highlanders and their identity is something that I could empathize with and I began to see the land populated more with those adorable sheep much differently, when the lack of people was called to my attention. I now have a greater appreciation and knowledge of Scottish culture (and whiskey). I had so much fun and frequently commented throughout, how I would have never imagined myself doing all the activities we did. I feel so fortunate and grateful that I got to go and that I got to meet the wonderful people I did; I feel like I even got to know everyone in our group a little better, which was nice.

We were enchanted by our guide Caitlin, which is short for Cheerful Amazing Inspiring Totally Lovable Impressive Narrator. Caitlin speaks as easy as she drives safely and never stops to impress you by her unbelievable knowledge of Scotland's history. Beyond that she has the capability to tell her stories in a way that makes history instantly revive. Being herself truly involved in the history she also lets you taste the emotions of it. The taste is like the best malt whisky of your choice. And if you do not know how that tastes, do ask Caitlin, who surprisingly also knows the map of whisky as good as the map of Scotland. What can you wish more for a guide? Maybe, only that the trip does not end or that you spot an unicorn, so that you can wish that you are back on a trip with Caitlin. Caitlin, thanks, thanks and thanks again. We are glad to have you as our clan member and hope you will guide us to always find the high roads of life.

I've never seen a place as beautiful as Glencoe in my life. The hostels we stayed at were comfy and clean. The bus was too (I fell accidentally fell asleep more than once oops). Caitlin was especially fantastic! We all loved her right away, and she has incredible stories and emotional connections to the places we visited. She made sure we all felt included in the "clan" and were having a good time. Also I have no idea how anyone can parallel park a bus as efficiently and smoothly as she can. 9/10 roadtrip playlist - learned a ton of Scottish music. 10/10 puns/jokes. Derrick was also a delight to have along. I felt like we got a real taste of highland culture - and fun. Thanks for everything!

I enjoyed the whole tour overall but there was something special about Culloden maybe it was because of the way Caitlin told the story she was just brilliant throughout so knowledgeable, full of life…I enjoyed the whole tour overall but there was something special about Culloden maybe it was because of the way Caitlin told the story she was just brilliant throughout so knowledgeable, full of life and friendly and so was her trainee Jim Scott. Caitlin was so helpful to all on tour and full of fun [ good craic as we say in Ireland ] an all round 1st class tour guide. As for her driving always felt comfortable with her she could have turned the bus on a sixpence, wishing her and Jim all the best and know many more people have a treat in store when on their tours.

As a former tour guide myself who's worked in hospitality, I can confidently say she shattered my expectations for this tour and set the bar higher than I could have ever imagined for any future tours I go on. Jemma and Michael were also amazing! Jemma's hilarious stories were so entertaining and her energetic attitude was infectious. Michael's friendliness and knowledge of all things whisky and haggis was just what we needed as newbies to the country, and I know he'll be an awesome guide on all his future tours. Caitlin, our tour guide was fantastic. I cannot speak highly enough. I came into the tour with zero understanding of Scotish history and was blown away by her ability to tell a tale and build a real picture with every story she told. Her passion was infectious, as was the laughter and tears to go with each story she told. Her terrible jokes and tailored music to each of our locations added such depth to the places we went.
When locations were closed or changes to the itinerary were needed it was done in a professional manner and was instead used to improve the tour by going to new special locations.
Morge's Lodge was great fun and a nice place to rest our weary heads for two nights and provided good food and had a fun bar to finish the days in.
By the end of the tour, no one wanted to leave and we did our best to extend the trip with drinks with Caitlin afterward.
Never have I been so disappointed to leave a place as I was leaving the Highlands and my tour clan.

To be honest, at first I was a bit weary of booking a tour to the Highlands. However to my amazement this was the best decision I have made on this trip to Scotland. She was able to entertain us with hilarious stories as well as to tell us of key events of Scottish history while driving her bus like a pro. What is more, Caitlin managed to break the ice between the members of the group and create an amazing atmosphere. Her love and passion for Scotland was transmitted to us. I believe I was able to experience the Highlands in a unique way which allowed me to feel the spirit of this place, make new friends and see beyond the visible. I definitely recommend the three days Haggis Highlands tour with Caitlin. I will certainly come back to Edinburgh one day and do another Haggis tour, hopefully with Caitlin.

We were blessed with great weather but also a fantastic tour guide. Caitlin made the trip so much funny, while also insightful. I learnt so much about the culture, history of the country and each site we visited.
Caitlin made the history of each area very interesting, engaging and interactive. The issue can be that the travel can be horrible, but I enjoyed it through Caitlin’s fun, humorous story telling and music lessons. I now have some new favourite songs!
I think everyone on the tour loved the 3 days and Caitlin was an amazing tour guide!!

The fact that there was three of them for the 13 of us was amazing, because they were able to divide their time between us, and all of them have fantastic knowledge and a very infectious love of Scotland, and I think that transported over to us very well. I know for myself that I will definitly go back to the Highlands and do another tour, hopefully going up to the very north next time, and I'd be beyond pleased if any of those three would be my guides again (or all three of them).
Any question, however random it was, has been answered and they went above and beyond to make this a fantastic experience for us. I asked on the first day wheter we could go to the Glenfinnan Viaduct, and we ended up spending a lot of time there on day 4, really enjoying the scenery and having fun building a broom and taking pictures with it, which is one of the 'way beyond' things I would like to mention.
I have done very many tours in a lot of countries, and had great guides, but I think this something that really sets Caitlin (also Fiona & Iain) apart from them.
We also got a real kick out of the stories Fiona and Iain told, and I'm sure they will be doing fantastic on solo tours soon as well. Quite a few of us were not feeling a bit sickish at one point or the other, and Iain provided with pain killers, motion sickness bands etc within the shortest time after finding out, which was fantastic, because the last thing you want to be on a tour is being sick and having to worry about those kinds of things

We had a few hiccups along the way, but their professionalism, humour, and care were outstanding. From a Tourradar business model standpoint, I was a wee bit disappointed that there were so many extras on top of the fee I had to pay. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't a deal breaker. It would just have been nice to know at the immediate time of booking that paying for the accommodations, and hostel meals were additional expenses. Also, for me, having a tour group so large (we were 40 people) didn't give me the opportunity to mingle and meet the other members of the group. It was wonderful to see so many countries and cultures represented, but I would have preferred a smaller group size. The bus broke down once, and we had to wait to have a new bus brought to us, but as I said Caitlin and Jemma were awesome. They broke out Cards Against Humanity, and the laughter continued. We had another smaller radiator bus situation, but the girls quickly took care of it. Overall, it was an incredible weekend, and this is mainly due to the awesomeness that is Caitlin and Jemma, and of course the majestic landscape of the Scottish Highlands.

There is sometimes an awkwardness at the beginning of a trip, where the people involved are unsure of each other's personalities and don't know each other that well.... Not with Caitlin around. This problem was quickly solved when the delightful Caitlin had us speed dating/playing musical chairs on the bus. It was social, it was exciting and it was a fantastic ice breaker. From then on this tour was the absolute best week of my life. I was captivated by Caitlin's beautiful stories of the Scottish highlands, she made every aspect of the trip amazing. She knows all the secret spots - even Scotland's sandy beaches (who knew) - and has the perfect attitude for a tour guide. It's clearly her calling in life to live, breathe and share Scotland. The haunting beauty of Colodden battlefield had Caitlin's raw emotion spilling over and touching all of us in the re-telling of the slaughter. One of our stops was a museum that displayed an old style village where we planned to have a picnic lunch, but this is where Caitlin truly went above and beyond her role as a guide. She had noticed my family name on a sign for a museum on the way into town and offered to take me to see my family history. While the others had their picnic lunch I was blown away by this opportunity to learn about where I've come from. Caitlin's unstoppable need to do everything she can to make someone else's day had me speechless. Thank you so much Caitlin, you are the most amazing person and tour guide on this planet, thank you so much Haggis Adventures and thank you so much to everyone that was a part of my journey, I'll never forget you. I was initially nervous about whether or not I'd get along with my bus-mates, but my fears were completely u…I literally had the time of my life on the Highland Fling tour, with my tour guide Caitlin. I was initially nervous about whether or not I'd get along with my bus-mates, but my fears were completely unfounded. Caitlin's infectious energy and enthusiasm, as well as her ability to direct us to break the ice, was so effective in allowing all of us to become inseparable by the time 5 days had passed. I don't think I can better emphasise just how important Caitlin's role was in allowing us all to have that much fun together.
Each day of the tour was filled with breath-taking views of mountains, valleys, rivers, waterfalls and the occasional castle. Caitlin would always inject some history or amusing anecdote to further increase our appreciation of whatever awe-inspiring view we saw in front of us. This is one of the advantages being on a tour - you may be able to drive around and see the views by yourself, but only a local with appropriate experience can give you more value by explaining the significance and story behind every place you stop by. Cheers to Caitlin for doing a great job with telling us stories - I think my friends may have gotten a little sick of me repeating the same stories to them over and over!
By around 5pm each day, we would retire to our hostels. Each place we stopped at had great food and places to socialise, and I definitely maximised the amount of fun I had by socialising with my awesome bus-mates. The bar at Morag's Lodge at Fort Augustus even had live music and dancing to allow us to be merry after hours.
Specific experiences that were extremely memorable include
- taking the "Harry Potter train" from Fort William to Mallaig via the Glenfinnan viaduct
- playing on a sandy beach near Mallaig
- hiking up to a ruined castle at Skye with Caitlin and my bus-mates
- the "Quiz night" at Morag's Lodge (our group lost first place by just a hair!)
- the Loch Ness cruise.
These are just a few memories with my friends which will forever be burned into my mind, and I cannot overstate just how much fun I had on this tour.
I have genuinely fallen in love with the Scottish Highlands, and definitely want to come back. I partly blame Caitlin for this - she clearly has a soft spot in her heart for the Scottish Highlands, and it was evident that she went above and beyond to try to make us see the beauty of the Highlands as she does. I have never met a person as fun, kind, sincere, and dedicated as Caitlin, and would like to give her the highest of commendations for her role in making sure every single person on the bus had the time of their lives.
For those who are wondering whether or not the tour is worth it: provided you are willing to come out of your comfort zone and enjoy yourself, the answer is yes! This tour was life-changing for me, and I definitely recommend a tour with Haggis Adventures (especially if your guide is Caitlin). For all of you sitting on the fence, go and book this tour! It's definitely worth it.

I am from Glasgow and decided to go on the tour as I had never been further up North than Oban and wanted to see more of my own country before I moved abroad to work as a teacher. She did Scotland proud!!! So funny and friendly and she really made the tour for us! The accommodation was all fine with the hostel in Fort Augustus been my fave (sorry I can not remember the name of it) but it had a bar and we had a tartan toga party! I would def recommend Haggis and if you get Caitlin as your guide you will not be dissapointed, I guarantee it! X

Previously I had been very sceptical of booking a ready-made tour, but I have to admit... The five days I spent on that tour were the best days of my life so far! We were 21 passengers from all around the world, guided by Caitlin. First of all, Caitlin did an awesome job as a tour guide. She showed us some of her favorite spots along the way (which made it even more special) and had the historical knowledge, in addition to her great story telling skills. During the trip you could really feel her passion towards Scotland and her work. Moreover, it was amazing how our group bonded so fast (thanks to Caitlin), and after the five days it felt so bad the tour was already over. Scotland has one of the most beautiful sceneries, very interesting history and most kind hearted people I have met. I had a blast! Ever since our tour ended, I have been planning for another visit to Scotland. So I bet you won't be bored, if you book a Haggis Tour. It will leave you yerning for more! I greatly recommend!
