Because it was a smaller tour bus, we were able to get to places the big guys can't and it helped us truly appreciate Scotland in all its glory. I’m so grateful for the flexibility and the chance to experience the Isle of Skye Highland Games. Our accommodations were very nice & the hosts at the B&B’s were quite helpful & flexible. Now, any tour is only as good as its guide, and Gill wa…This was my first time in Scotland, and I wanted to see as many highlights as I could without having to worry about getting from place to place. Now, any tour is only as good as its guide, and Gill was a terrific one. Her passion for her job and Scotland itself shone through every tall tale, historical description, and even her meticulously curated playlist. She’s engaging, genuinely knowledgeable, and her excitement about each step of the journey was infectious. Seeing the country through her eyes was a wonderful experience, and I especially enjoyed the balance of outdoor and museum-type elements on the itinerary.
My main critique of the tour is that the evenings were mainly uncurated, but the accommodations were in locations with nothing else nearby. I was looking forward to exploring a bit and meeting local Scots, not hanging out in a hostel with only the people I’d already spent an entire day with. It was disappointing that the lodging didn’t make going off on my own for a bit an option.

I would gladly book another tour with her, she could turn even the rainiest days into a day of fun and laughter.
The tour on it's own, however, could be a little improved. The events could have been a bit more interesting although it may have been because of the time of the week we went (dancing on a Monday evening for example). The accomodations were for the most part great! Our Tuesday night hostel, Saucy Mary's, was the only one that was very poor. The staff, despite working in hospitality, were not very hospitable and seemed to take offence when asked for help. The facilities barely seemed to work and the kitchen had hardly anything in it which made cooking meals difficult. The pillows seemed pointless because of how small and thin they were. The breakfast served at the pub was also far too expensive for what they provided (£8 for cereal and toast). If we had stayed at the nearby town of Pourtree then it would have been much better with more for guests to do as well. However, after that the tour's accomodation and itinerary were great and I certainly had no complaints for the rest of the trip. I will highly recommend this trip and guide to everyone I know going forward!

In ten days, our group got to see many different, but equally stunning places in Scotland. Travelling by bus was the perfect way to be able to see as much as possible of the beautiful landscapes. Our tour guides Gill, Fiona (days 1-4) and Rich (days 5-10) told us many interesting facts, myths and legends surrounding those places while making us all feel like a family. The atmosphere was always relaxed and humorous, and I always looked forward to what the following day might bring. I will definitely travel with Haggis again (the next tours are booked)!

I have traveled the area before on my own but definitely got so much more from Gill's enthusiasm, her extensive knowledge of the history of Scotland and patriotic love for her country. The itinerary throughout the trip was well thought out to ensure we got to experience as much as we could over the short few days we were there, without feeling rushed. Once in Edinburgh for the festivities Gill had lots of advice to ensure we got the most out of our time there. From the good songs to the dad jokes, from the mountains of Skye to the sea (literally, in the sea for the Loony Dook) Gill made sure we left Scotland feeling alive!

The organised events in Edinburgh were good with enough free time too. From Ceilidh dancing to the walking tour the time spent in Edinburgh was just as good as the Highlands.
The only downside I have was the standard at Saucy Mary’s. Unfortunately, the showers were very average and rooms were cramped however the warm welcome we received at Morags was awesome.

Overall the accommodation was good - especially in Fort Augustus and Oban, but it was disappointing to find out that it was more expensive to pay for accommodation in the pre paid package, but a reasonably significant amount.

Also, I learned so much about Scottish history, which I didn’t expect to, and Gill kept it interesting. We even participated in superstitious folklore which was fun. Gill is the quintessential Scottish guide (plus it’s a bonus that she’s ginger!) and I will definitely recommend others to go on a guided trip with her! I will forever be reminded of the Highland Fling adventure and Gill whenever I go over a bridge. Keep being you, Gill and I wish you all of the best! :)

This trip was absolutely amazing! Being able to see all the different places of Scotland and then being able to see how the whiskey is made and how it tastes was great!

We went on the 10 day Compass Buster tour. We had Gill as our tour guide/ driver for the first five days of the tour and Steve as the driver/ tour guide for the last five days. They both love Scotland…We went on the 10 day Compass Buster tour. We had Gill as our tour guide/ driver for the first five days of the tour and Steve as the driver/ tour guide for the last five days. They both love Scotland, and tell many wonderful historical and mythological stories, but Gill is easier to understand. We are an older couple than most people who were on the tour with us. We paid a little more to get *excellent,* private b & b rooms, often with bathrooms included, and full fabulous breakfasts! rather than hostels, and that was a great choice for us. I wish we had had the option to go to Tallisker distillery on Skye. (Inexplicably, that wasn't an option.) I recommend having clothes washed at Morag's Lodge. If you are contemplating taking a tour of Scotland, and you can, take this one! Highlights: castles, cathedrals, ancient sites, natural wonders, lighthouses, castles, churches, Viking sites, gorgeous scenery, the ceilhle, oh and lots of pop culture.

Considering it was a group tour on daily schedule, there was plenty of free time and time to explore the different areas. My only complaint was that I didn't sign up for a longer tour! Great Tour. Lots of fun. Everyone was easy going, tour guide was informative, friendly and fun. Thumbs up to the evening of dance and the piper leading us to the pub in Oban. A couple special stops…Great Tour. Lots of fun. Everyone was easy going, tour guide was informative, friendly and fun. Thumbs up to the evening of dance and the piper leading us to the pub in Oban. A couple special stops were made that were not part of the itinerary on this trip...this was great! Hotel room in Oban was HOT, even with window wide open. Hotel in Portree was HOT (even had a fan in it, & smelled like deep fry) trouble sleeping again but this was just my bad luck as my daughters were in a room next to me and their room was a comfortable temperature.
Very thankful that the week of our tour experienced little rain! Thank you!!

Definitely a trip for all walks of life as it includes a little bit of everything.

There were enough stops so you didn't get too tired of the bus and I loved the fact that she gave us all the information we needed but let us explore on our own! This tour made me want to move to Scotland and start hiking all the Munros!!

It was a great tour because you get to see everything, all the tourist spots, plus all the little spots that Gillian only knew about and really liked. It was great that we fit a lot into three days but on the last day, the weather was great, and we had a sunny lunch in Glen Coe and she was perfectly happy to let everyone sit and relax and really enjoy Scotland in that way. Give her a really big raise and extra holiday days!!!

Gill was phenomenal at picking key locations to stop at, and made the bus tour fun with her music playlists. Great for bringing the fellow bus companions together and for seeing the major highlights of Scotland. I cannot recommend Gill highly enough! The route we took was beautiful and hit all of the major places that I was hoping for. I would sign up for the longer bus tour in a heartbeat!

Gill was the best tour manager, her knowledge of the country and the stories she told was relatable and extremely extensive and exciting. She was down to earth, funny, and truely cared about how our tour was travelling.
The highlands were phenomenal, such beautiful landscapes. And we got to plenty of time in each location we stopped.
The Hogmanay festival was absolutely wild, truely something to experience when in Scotland.
Lots of Harry Potter references in Edinburgh so great for all of the book series buffs.

She took great care of our group, even encouraging us to do things on our adventures that typically wouldn’t do. For instance, the location where she re-enacted with our children a story by a bridge and stream under it- she encouraged us to put our faces in the water (goes with the story) because “you may never have a chance to do this again, so why not?” We did it and have the pictures we took to prove it. We look back at those days with such great memories and tales to tell. We have traveled to dozens of countries with our children and Scotland is at the top of our list. Thank you, Gill, for helping us create incredible memories!
