Of a nine week trip across South America, this was definitely up there as one of the highlights - so much wildlife to see, and the activities are spaced out really well so you can have little breaks in between and not feel too knackered. The canoe trip on the lake was amazing - big thanks to Franky who was a brilliant guide!
I had a fantastic time! The itinerary made every day (including arrival) a day where I learned and experienced something new. The transportation was well-organized, and we went by van, boat, van and boat to arrive & reverse to return. The guide was funny, knowledgeable, and fluent in English. He always gave us clear instructions/advice to prepare us for the next tour or activity. Bring your most serious mosquito spray because when you go on excursions, they are aggressive (they can bite through the hammock material!) I also recommend that you be prepared for the humidity. They feed you pretty generously, but you may want to bring some sweets, but there is cupuacu mousse cups that are yummy and not very expensive! The only thing I was sad about was that it was hard to see the river dolphins. We did spot a few in the distance.

The guides were amazing, very knowledgeable, I felt safe the whole time, they accommodated my dietary needs. Only thing I wish was better was pre planning communication with specifics on what would be recommended to pack (cotton clothes specifically, no shoes in lodges, longer style raincoat all needed but not really mentioned beforehand and we ended up having to purchase while in Cusco and that was difficult.) otherwise I’d do the same tour again with the same guides and still have a great time.
