my favourite activities were; climbing mount Batur, it wasn't included as part of the trip but it was a great experience.i also enjoyed the cooking class and being informed about the Balinese culture.
The culture aspect side of the tour was very good and insightful especially the cooking class and temples.
As well as the surf lesson being very good and giving me a chance to do something i wouldn't normally do.

I loved all the swimming and jumping into waterfalls on moyo and lombok. Also meeting people and watching the sunsets with them was epic.

The live aboard was my favourite part, food was excellent and the crew were very friendly which added to the experience, made me feel at home. I sawa variety of things i will more than likely never experience again. watching the stars with a group I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know was a great way to end the trip.
The combination on Moyo- boat trip across,motorbike ride to the waterfalls, swimming and lunch was the perfect combination and made the day more exciting rather than sitting on a bus.
It would be nice to stay an extra day in Flores and venturing out as a group.

The day we did padar, snorkeling and the other hike on gili lava was pretty tiring maybe we could have split it up across the other days on the boat. That being said it was good being kept busy the whole time especially when there is not a lot to do on the boat

In Sumbawa the culture seemed amazing and would have been lovely to immerse ourselves together eg a home stay of some kind.
The first evening of the boat was fab, watching the sunset on the roof of the boat was amazing, our dinner was amazing and when the stars came out and the glowing plankton was visible it really topped off the experience.
Tour guide throughout: sasak village, boat crew, komodo etc were flawless.
It would be nice to sty at a homestay in a village ie the sasak village so we would get to spend more time with locals

I have very much enjoyed the experience as a whole; however I have enjoyed much more blending into the Indonesian culture, experiences, views of the landscape and most of all disconnecting from the th…I have very much enjoyed the experience as a whole; however I have enjoyed much more blending into the Indonesian culture, experiences, views of the landscape and most of all disconnecting from the the word ( no wifi ) Although some of the food wasn't enjoyable on Sumbawa, I still have got good memories of the trip and places. Having Rig as a tour leader definitely enhanced the fun and encouraged a variety of activities that I would have not found on my own.
From the first 10 days of the tour my favourite parts/memories would be the volcano trek and surfing and the last 9 days of the tour it would be 3 days on the boat with padar island sunset.
I will definitely recommend trutravels to others

The only thing was at a few of the food places they didn't cater for people with dietary restrictions so this was pretty hard for me and the hotel on Sumbawa could have been better.

I am very happy I did this trip as I think I would never had done it on my own. Everything was organised and I enjoyed the different activities.

Surfing was my favourite parts in lombok and bali and I will continue to surf. The nightlife as well was nice and made lots of good memories.
I enjoyed the trip a lot, I expediences many things that I wouldn't have experienced if I was doing the trip on my own. Guide Rig was an amazing guy, lots of fun he showed us a good experience.

Rig was an amazing tour leader- very helpful and lots of fun. I would 100% recommend and and the tour, I will definitely use trutravels again.
My favorite activities was the surfing, it was lots of fun but also challenging, it was very well organised and the instructors were very friendly. My favorite memories were made on gili T due to the party and chilling atmosphere allowing lots of time to chill with friends/group. I will definitely miss rig and the group who made the tour.
I have not got a bad word to say about the tour, however some more pre tip guidance about money would be helpful.

I had a lovely trip/experience and had fun on all the activities. However some activities were very touristy and may have been more plesent to visit more authentic landmarks eg the waterfalls and rice teraces.
As lunch and dinner isn't included a guide on how much to take out each night would have been helpful.

Living on the boat for 3 days was such good fun and i have never done anything like that before. The crew were really nice and friendly and the food on the boat was amazing.
There was one travel day that was really long and painful but it needed to be done.

Rig also did a great job patching me up when i fell off my bike.
There are too many favourite parts of this trip but some of the best were the cooking class where we made some amazing Indonesian food as well as the monkey Forrest which was a great experience. Also going to see the volcano was one of the best views ever.
The accommodation was fantastic, it was a very nice change to get some fresh smelling washing back. Seen some of the nicest views ever and the surf lesson was great as well. I had such a great time thanks trutravels.

I thought this experience has been amazing. There s the right amount of activities leaving some time for chill. The group leaders Rig & Egal were lots of fun and so easy to get on with. Cooking class was great and way more fun than originally expected.
Also loved snorkelling as i had never done it before, gili was a great place to do it.
The only thing I would suggest is going out a bit later to let people get ready ie 7:30 or 8 for dinner.

A few suggestions
The rubbish on the beach was saddening it would be nice to include a ecological activity on the tour (beach clean up)
A lot of our group smoked so we were always having smoking breaks and the cigarette butts on the ground was a problem.

We couldn't have asked for better guides, exceeded expectations and have set the bar high for any other trips we do.

Having a beach day in the tour would be nice, we didn't know how close the beach was to our hotel.

The highlight of my trip had to be the snorkel trip on Gili T, it was amazing as well as the cooking class with all the amazing food we made in ubud.
The only thing i would say was the first few days in Canggu we didn't do a lot of full day activities, would be better doing full day activities rather than just a couple of hours in the middle of the day.
Best trip ever! Very thankful to Rig and Egal for making the trip so enjoyable. Everything was very well organised. they got everyone involved , made us all feel welcome and made us laugh everyday.

The activities were 10/10, no complaints about anything! The places we stayed were amazing and we had the best experience in the best places with the best people.
The surf lesson and snorkelling were my highlights so much fun and made such good memories for life.

The activities on the tour were incredible. Visiting the best waterfalls I have ever seen in SE Asia on Moyo Island and the motorbike ride to reach them is an activity in itself.

The live aboard boat was by far the best part of the tour, a truly amazing 3 days.
My favourite memory of the trip was the live aboard boat, sleeping under the stars, delicious food and the fantastic crew. We saw some amazing animals/fish whilst on the boat including manta rays, turtles and Komodo dragons. All things I thought i would never experience until i booked this trip.
Be prepared if you booked this tour the second half is much more of a backpacking experience and comes as a contrast the luxury partying you get on the first 10 day bali experience tour. With that in mind we thought Rig was fantastic on the first 10 days but as things got more extreme he really out did himself. There were a few minor injuries and some major sea sickness. Rig cared tirelessly for our every need. when one poor girl was ill on the boat he did not leave he side all night. I cannot recommend try travels enough and Rig was the best tour guide you could ask for

Favourite memory was building the courage to swing into water by the waterfalls and ride on the back of a motorbike. I thought Moyo island was an undiscovered paradise and really enjoyed it. Also thought. Also thought seeing the komodo dragons so close up without bars was a once in a life time experience.
I can not rate my guide 'Rig' enough for everything he did for not only me but the rest of the group. When I was a little unwell for a short time on the trip he didn't fail to comfort me and raise my spirits. Though this was outside his job roles he did it with ease and i can not thank you enough Rig! Much love to the best tour guide out there, anyone with Rig as their guide on their next tour, you will be lucky to have him!

I really enjoyed going to the waterfalls on Moyo island specially with the motorbikes. The waterfalls were breathtaking (no tourists) and the moped ride was definitely the best way to get there.
Rig was absolutely amazing, fun and nearly got everyone involved. He was also very caring when one member of the group was ill. He honestly made my trip what it was.

I liked the motorcycle ride on moyo islands to the waterfalls but the drivers need to be careful as its a dangerous road.

The highlights were sailing, snorkeling, surfing. Moyo waterfalls were beautiful and no tourists and I also loved the hikes to amazing view points like Padar.
The only thing that could make it better would be staying in more backpacker places like hostels.

Loved the volcano trip, I will remember that for a long time. We have had so many laughs its hard to pick a favorite memory but I did love potato head beach club. As a food lover I also loved the cooking class with Nyoman.
I've loved the group we have been with and Rig our Guide has been an amazing guide. Going above and beyond to make recommendations, always a genuine guy and feels more like a mate and a tour guide.

Having an easy to talk to tour guide has made the trip feel really like family. Given opportunities at every point and great suggestions for nearby activities.

My favourite was snorkelling, good energy from Rig , positive and enthusiastic, patient and understanding. Making it a comfortable experience and made it easy to express feeling and our safety was always his priority. High energy and constant praise and encouragement.
Rig was involved the whole time, better than expected, helped with any question we had and onward travel options.
Rig has a lot of knowledge and a big heart and made the trip unforgettable for us all. The group felt like more of a family

There were a couple minor teething issues but this is to be expected with a brand new tour. Saying that it never distracted or took away from hoe fun and sick this tour was.
I loved the waterfalls in Moyo, it was something else. The bike ride to get to the waterfalls was so much fun, being able to experience this as the only people there made it extra special.
If I could say one thing it would be nice to spend more time in Flores and if we could have stayed on Moyo Island that would have been incredible, worth the extra traveling.

The live aboard boat was by far my favourite, everyone together drinking, snorkeling. Made it that much harder to leave everyone at the end after all the fun on the boat. The Indonesian islands were astounding as well as places you'd never think to visit if it wasn't for this trip.
I wasn't a big fan of the cooking class but that was probably due to me coming down with a sickness bug. Everything else was perfect. I will definitely come back for more tours, trutravels really do have the most informed, cultured leaders I've ever seen.

The whole experience of being on the boat as the best experience. Going to all the waterfalls and riding on the scooters was brilliant, and i felt safe the entire time. Snorkeling with the manta rays was so serene and something I never thought i would do as well as the amazing experience when we snorkeled with the turtles.
This trip is amazing , personally I enjoyed second half of the trip more but only due to more rural and quiet places that we visited. I had a few tough moments climbing up the view points in the sun but i genuinely felt so encouraged by Rig to do it and I really want to thank him for his support. Amazing tour and I think we were lucky that it was such a great group of people to make it better.

My highlight of the trip was seeing the waterfalls on Moyo Island. Everything including the scooter ride through the dirt tracks was memorable.
The boat could have been shorter, had a great time but it gets to a point where you need a proper shower and comforts. Having said that it was a great experience and I would recommend TruTravels to anyone thinking about traveling Asia.

My favourite part was surfing on kuta beach and potato head beach club. I have even booked a hostel near the beach so I can go surfing again.

My favourite activities were cooking class, surfing and snorkeling! They gave me some of the best memories on the tour. I was also amazing to spend time with the new people I met in the group and it was cool when we got to chill with Rig while having a few beers and listening to live music.
The only thing I would say that could improve the tour is to include the volcano trek into the tour. Rig arranged this for us as an extra but it was not part of the tour itself. it was so much fun thanks Rig.

Snorkeling & surfing were my favorite activities. I have always wanted to swim with turtles and we saw so many, it was amazing. The guys on the boat and surfing were brilliant too thank you Adae. We learnt so much in just one day/class.

There were so many activities I enjoyed its hard to pick the best one. Surfing was amazing, snorkeling was fantastic and learning to ride a bike was also a high point.

The exact right amount of activities and free time. 3 nights in each place was great amount of time as well.
My favourite day was the snorkeling day. No being a big fan of the sea/fish, I went in and had a great time anyway. Along with swimming with jelly fish I also held one it was amazing.
We also did the volcano sunrise trek that rig arranged for us and loved it.

Accommodation was always clean and the staff were friendly. My favorite hotel we stayed at was the one in Ubud.. the rooms were simple but stylish and the breakfast was delicious, plus the staff were so friendly. My only complaint would be that the final hotel on the Gilli Islands was a bit underwhelming, and the food was pretty bad. Highlights would be the Balinese cooking class, and haggling in the markets. Our tour leaders Rig and Gregg were so helpful, and gave us loads of tips on restaurants and haggling ect. To be honest we would have been completely lost without them!

The tour is really good for what you pay for! All transport and accommodation is sorted out for you so it’s super easy to get around and settle in. Some accommodation is nicer than others I.e Koa hote…The tour is really good for what you pay for! Overall, there is a good balance between activities and free time so that you have plenty of time to explore or rest. Surfing, snorkelling and the Gili Islands are really good fun. I would have liked to explore other islands near by more. Tour guide Rig was super nice and helpful. Always looking out for all members of the group and was really helpful when I struggled snorkelling. Greg (trainee tour guide) was also amazing and specially when he got so many good pictures of all of us. Overall, I would recommend this tour if you want to balance between partying and chilling out!

The accomodation was amazing, after being so use to living in hostel for the past 9 months being in twin rooms in a hotel was pure paradise for me! There was just a good mixture of activities and then chill time which meant for me I had time to do my own thing and chill out. I am using trutravels again for my upcoming Philippines trip and couldn’t be more happy with my decision.

Such a relaxed vibe from both the people who work in the office and also our group leader. I love that all activities and accommodation was organised down to a T so that I had to do absolutely no preparation for the holiday! Even restaurants and nights out were organised so we knew we were going to eat a delicious meal every night. Each of the locations we went to were beautiful and the activities we did were both cultural and fun! Accommodation was fantastic! Each with a pool and each with lovely hotel staff.
The reason why I chose Tru Travel over other companies because 1) they were cheaper than their main competitors, 2) an extra day was included whereas the competitor's experience was only 9 days 3) Ubud was included whereas the competitor's experience did not include this place and if you wanted to go there then you had to upgrade to the 14 day experience and a lot more money!
Favourite parts were: Snorkelling in Gili T, Cooking class in Ubud and surfing in Kuta.

I was lucky enough to be part of large and amazing group of people who I hope to stay in contact with and woukd gladly tour with them again and book said tour with Tru. The only downside I can add (which is no fault of Tru's) is that unfortunately I booked my tour through Xtreme gapyear, who did nothing but pass my details to Tru, who did all of the actual work, and charge me £589 rather than the actual price of £450. While the awesome-ness helped me forget about the money I still felt very ripped off (again not Tru's fault). If I could recommend anything it would be to cut your association with Xtreme as it may reflect badly on your company which is that last thing that should happen. The Xtreme issue asside I couldn't recommend my Bali experience anymore to others. It was amazing....

Everyone got sick half way through the tour and it handled it like a pro, he looked after everyone and made sure everyone was ok. Rig was one of the best tour guides I've ever had and Bali would not be the same without him. TruTravels are so lucky to have Rig as a tour guide and he made Bali one of my favourite trips ever. Some things disappoint me, like the dead coral with snorkeling at Gili T and that you can't swim in the sea at the beaches of Gili T, because off the rocks and dead coral in the water.

The guy has ample knowledge of Bali so it was brilliant to have someone who was willing to help and advise us. He was able to deal with any issues in an appropriate manner with a great degree of speed which allowed us to relax and enjoy!!
We were fortunate enough to have two tour guides, with Rig coming along to learn the trade (I believe it was his first tour). For a person who was visiting Bali for the first time, he quickly engaged himself with his surroundings and was a great deal of help in organising trips and ensuring people were enjoying themselves. For a person who had not been to Bali before, I can safely assume he had swallowed a couple of brochures on the place as he was able to share some useful knowledge which gave the tour a great vibe.
Overall the tour was a brilliant experience and one I would definitely do again. Judging on other Tours, I would say Tru Travels' USP is that they offer Tour Guides like Drew and Rig. Thanks guys for a brilliant 10 days!

I would like to write a small review on the man himself, Big Rig, honestly hand on my heart he made the trip just everything I was hoping for, we got close, he was always helpful, good with times and there was so much more I could say on this big bearded man! But seriously good at what he does and you can see every tour he's learning and wants to provide the best for his group and overall, keep doing what you're doing my man! The people I met were so good and just I loved learning new cultures and languages and just overall the whole trip was a brilliant way to end my travels so thank you Rig and all of Tru for being amazing and I'm sure you haven't seen the last of me!!

I couldn't have asked for a better tour guide than Rig, he went out of his way to make sure we all had the best time whilst we were out there. He also provided pretty sound recommendations for places to eat in Bali and advice when it came to bartering in the markets!
I'll definitely use Trutravels in future, the whole organisation of the trip was faultless, so I can't recommend them enough!

Rig was such a great guide. He was laid back but always on hand when you needed him. I joined my tour late but Rig made sure I was introduced to everyone which I thought was really nice ☺️

The activities are nice. I enjoyed more the one I didn't expect. Surf and cooking lesson. The organization to go somewhere was good. The help from the tour guide was appreciated. The idea of doing a group chat on facebook is good. It would have been easier for me if I added the guide in my friend like he suggested in his email, before the trip. The hotels were quite good.
It's a good tour but here is my honest opinion of things that could be improved and make it perfect:
- I think they are nicer temples than the ones we saw.
- There could be more extra activities offered like quad, jungle trip. It probably depends on where we are, but it would have been fun to do it, even though it's not included in the tour.
- Canggu was ok but probably there are better places. Ubud really nice and Gili T I didn't like it that much. Gili air was much better. Cleaner, people nicer, better vibe in my opinion. I wouldn't recommend to do extra nights in Gilli T. I had 2 more nights for Gili T, I decided to drop it and join a group who were going to Gili Air and I'm glad I did it.
- the hotel in Gili T. is quite far as well
- The restaurants picked in Ubud were great, in Gili T. not really but then that's optional and my opinion.
- The idea of doing a welcome diner is a good idea. Someone told me it was supposed to be included. so either remove it from the activities included or add a comment that it's not. I didn't see it but it bothered someone.
- In average, I think I didn't hear much information about Balinese's culture. there was a local guide which I think if you were in the bus with him, he would give a lot of information. It wasn't my case. I'm not saying I would have listened but it could have been interesting to know more.
- It might have been easier to organize what people will do after Gili T before arriving in Gili T. Internet is pretty bad, and might have been easier to do it in Ubud. For the return ticket with the Ferry as well. It would have been easier for the guide to organize it if he knew before.

For a start, anybody wanting to visit and travel around Bali for great value-for-money then this is the tour for yo…Just finished the 10-day Bali Experience and safe to say it was absolutely cracking! For a start, anybody wanting to visit and travel around Bali for great value-for-money then this is the tour for you. All accommodation and transport was superb and what I particularly liked was being in Canggu, Ubud and Gili Islands for at least a few days each meaning you had time to take in the places, unpack your bags and explore. Every single part of the tour I felt gave me the true experience of Bali but if I had to choose my favourite moments it would have to be the cooking class in Ubud at a Balinese families' home and the snorkelling with turtles around the Gili Islands - just absolutely priceless experiences!
Another aspect of the tour which I appreciated was the flexibility of it. i.e if you didn't want to join the main group meals as a couple, you didn't have to and could go for dinner elsewhere. You could make it as structured or as laid back as you liked with obviously the main transport in-between.
The main guide for the tour Drew Harwood was an incredible guide and I felt really knows how to get the balance of everybody in the group. Very out-going, always positive and there wasn't one moment on the tour that you felt he wasn't approachable. No questions were ever silly questions to him and his knowledge of Bali and the surrounding islands was extremely useful in helping me plan the rest of my tour after the tour had finished. Alongside Drew, was trainee guide Rig McIntyre who again, is going to make a fantastic guide for the TruTravels team. A real gent, very approachable and did an excellent job on our tour to make sure everybody needs were met - great luck to you as a new member of TruTravels!
Overall the experience was mind-blowing for me and hearing that they are soon to be launching an 18 day tour of Bali, I am really keen to add on the remaining 8 days and experience Bali further. Cannot recommend enough. An experience I will never forget!

On our particular tour we had a guide - Drew - as well as a new guide to the company - Rig - who joined us to shadow the tour. They were both brilliant! Any questions or problems and they were there to help straight away. My friend and I were travelling on for another week or so after the end of the tour and we had an idea of where we wanted to go but nothing was booked. Our guides were able to point us in the right direction and even put us in touch with local individuals who could help further.
The accommodation and transport was excellent. It was all organised, transport was always on time and the drivers were always welcoming and friendly. Whilst on tour, we were taken to a range of restaurants and cafes offering a choice on the menu. There was always something for everyone and we usually walked away stuffed from a great value for money meal!
The activities included in the price of the tour were fantastic. I particularly enjoyed learning to surf! There were activities planned everyday but we also had some free time to be able to relax or add in 1 or 2 activities of your own choice (own expense) in the local area we were staying in. For example, the sunrise trek up Mt. Batur - an early start but highly recommended!
Overall, a great tour which I'd highly recommend!

Both tour guides were amazing! We couldn't have asked for any better. They were friendly, helpful, good fun, keen, enthusiastic...and I could go on!
All of the activities were brilliant. Particularly loved learning to surf and cycling around Gili T! It was a tour packed with a range of activities and the time available was put to good use. We also had opportunities to add in 1 or 2 activities of our own along the way.
The accommodation was generally of a good standard, although I think another thought needs to go in to the accommodation we stayed in during our time at Ubud. The hotel itself was lovely - friendly staff, lovely surroundings - but the rooms were dark and damp and not particularly welcoming especially when the weather in Ubud wasn't great at times and time was spent in our rooms. The accommodation in Changuu and on Gili T was great!
Whilst on tour, our guides took us to some lovely restaurants and cafes to eat at. There was always a range of choices on the menu for both food and drink. I wasn't so keen on the all-you-can-eat choice of restaurant on a day in Ubud though. Best to avoid these I think!
Overall an excellent tour and I would highly recommend the tour and guides themselves to everyone!!!
