The tour was really well structured with a good balance between guided time and free time, and you’ll get to visit a real variety of locations.
It is fast paced, with a fair few early mornings and long days, but the benefit of that was that we got to see more sights and also often managed to avoid the crowds at the major tourist spots. Our tour guide Sherry was fantastic, she went above and beyond to make sure we all had an enjoyable trip. She was really organised throughout and incredibly knowledgeable on Japanese culture. She was always happy to answer any questions we had and offer support. Her enthusiasm and positivity were contagious and she did a great job at motivating us all (especially on our early start days!)

What truly made the trip unforgettable was our amazing guide, Sherry. She was simply outstanding. Fun, warm, and endlessly knowledgeable, Sherry brought every place we visited to life with her incredible insight into Japanese culture and history. She seemed to have a fascinating fact or story for absolutely everything! She was always prepared, super organised, and handled every question or issue with calm and kindness. You could tell she genuinely cared about making sure everyone in the group had the best possible experience. We all felt completely looked after from start to finish.
There were so many highlights: eating street food in Drunkard's Alley, the organised chaos of Shibuya Crossing, a rainbow cheese toastie in quirky Harajuku, an unforgettable overnight stay in a Buddhist temple, and stunning cherry blossom everywhere we went. We saw wild monkeys on Monkey Mountain, walked through the serene Bamboo Forest, enjoyed a traditional Japanese houseboat ride, and even got to wander the dreamy streets of Kyoto dressed in kimonos. Every moment was magic.
I can’t recommend this tour enough—especially with Sherry as your guide. She’s an absolute gem and made this trip truly special. If you’re thinking about seeing Japan in a fun, informative, and well-organised way, this is the tour for you!

It was great to learn about the history and culture of the Philippines and the boat trips were such fun days full of snorkelling, beautiful views, beaches and yumm food. My favourite part was definitely the cultural day which involved climbing coconut trees and playing numerous traditional Filipino games. Thankyou OneLife and Sherry for an unforgettable trip:)

Fantastic itinerary. Palawan is amazing and this tour gives you a full flavour of island life in the Philippines. Island hopping and visiting pristine beaches with aqua seas - truly paradise.

Her amazing knowledge about Japan, always there to help us if needed, fun facts everyday and she was just always in good humour which made the busy days easier. All in all a great trip would highly recommend it and if your lucky enough to get Sherry well you'll be very lucky.

The atmosphere of the group was fantastic, very supportive and welcoming of different types of people, which had a lot to do with the skills of Sherry in encouraging a positive group culture. I found the amount of time in each place to be well timed, and our experiences were meaningful due to the vast knowledge of our guide. It was clear that her knowledge had been built through study of Japanese history and culture as well as personal experience. Sherry was by far the best tour guide I have had, and made the experience positive for all members of the group, single, couples and family.

Additionally, there was significant social pressure on the part of the guide to drink alcohol at every meal. This is fine if people choose too but the guide made fun of those who did not and this was not appreciated.

My favorite aspects of the tour were taking public transportation (I live in a very car-centric city), and learning a bit of the history behind every tour stop.

The balance of adventure, food, and free time was perfect. I especially loved the overnight temple stay and the chance to meet locals. I was hesitant at first of going with unknown group of girls but I wouldn’t have had it any other way. Itinerary was perfect and I didn’t have to worry about anything which made me more relaxed during the trip. Our tour guide Chloe Sherry was the best. She is so knowledgeable on the area and spoke multiple languages as well. She was such a genuine person and one of my favorite people on the tour. She went above and beyond making all the girls feel comfortable. We had so much fun making sushi, TeamLabs, and going to multiple temples and shrines. I did not expect the temple tatami mats to be enjoyable but I was pleasantly impressed. Not only did I visit one of the most beautiful places that I’ve always wanted to but I made lots of new friends. I would definitely go on one of these trips again.

One of my absolute favorite activities was the sushi-making class — it was hands-on, delicious, and such a unique way to connect with Japanese culinary traditions.
I also loved visiting all the stunning temples, getting my gouschin stamps and everywhere we went it was an enriching experience thanks to Sherrys knowledge of the country. Beyond seeing all of the amazing sights, I loved the chance to meet new friends from all over the world, where everyone was so sweet and had such great energy!
I can’t recommend One Life Adventures enough for anyone wanting a fun, immersive, journey through Japan. This trip was truly unforgettable!

The travel between these locations is made seamless by your legendary guide who will have extensive knowledge on the best ways to get around as well as the best activities and food spots in each town and city. This optimises your relatively short time in this amazing country and will leave you wanting to come back. Shoutout to our guide Sherry who made the trip even more memorable than it already was.

It was a jam packed tour with so many wonderful experiences. My highlights were the sushi making class, Takoyama scenic train ride and temple stay, seeing Mount Fuji on the Shinkansen and karaoke nights out with the group!
Sherry was the best guide!! She went above and beyond to make the tour run smoothly, was always organised and always offering her support with anything we needed. Sherry was very knowledgeable, sharing lots of great information throughout the trip and answering any questions we had. Sherry’s positivity and fun was contagious which added to the fun of the tour!

Turns out there was no need. The tour guide was incredibly friendly and I felt supported throughout, there were also plenty of opportunities to get to know the other members of my tour group! There was a good balance between free time and scheduled tour events (and opting out was always an option). Only things I’d take note of is that there are quite a few early mornings and having a hotel/hostel room to yourself is not always an option.

Sherry looked after all of our needs but also made the tour so fun and unforgettable! Takayama and Kyoto were stand out places on the tour and the activities and hotels were all perfect for what we needed.

The agenda was packed and we saw many different parts of Japan. The sushi making class was one of the highlights as was Miyajima Island. I am thinking of going to Sri-Lanka next year and will use One Life for that trip.

Each day we would be introduced to a location, get some background on the area, and then get some free time afterwards to explore. Our guide, Sherry, was amazing. She was very friendly, helpful, knowledgable and a great problem solver. Whenever issues popped up like train delays she would sort it out immediately so the tour could continue unimpeded. Additionally, whenever we had longer stretches of free time Sherry had great suggestions that were always worth checking out, such as the Osaka aquarium or local food places we would have never found on our own. For anyone travelling I'd recommend booking a couple extra days after the tour as well, as there is so many wonderful things to see you are certain to want more time in Japan. Overall I had tons of fun, and it was a fantastic tour.

Our tour guide, Sherry, was fantastic. She was a fount of great recommendations for everything! Be it food, activities, you name it she had it! It is a jam packed tour however, since there is a lot of ground to cover in a country with 100s of years of history so be prepared to travel alot and be quick about moving from one activity to another. Made a lot of good memories on this tour, thank you Sherry and One Life!
