We went to some of the most beautiful places but Michael really made it a fun experience. He is hilarious, full of great banter and funny stories and had the whole bus laughing the whole time. He was very knowledgeable about Scottish history, folklore stories and whisky and loved answering all our questions. He looked out for each person and made sure everyone had a wonderful trip. He is a great driver and the best tour guide. I had a great time and fell in love with Scotland! I’ll be back!

The accommodation wasn't great, you get what you pay for as we went with the cheapest option. Not all the showers worked and the pillows were very flat so got a sore neck/shoulders. In saying that, this is the only bad aspect and the rest of the tour was excellent, I would definitely do it again!(with my own pillow). Michael was an awesome guide who made the trip really fun and loved answering all our questions, even the silly ones. This is one of the best trips I've ever been on, there was a little bit of everything in there; dancing, whiskey, hiking, beautiful sights and history. If you're like me and need variety this is a great tour. I loved every minute of it and I highly reccommend it!
Excellent tour, got an in-depth look at the Scottish Highlands, Isle of Sky and many historical sights. Excellent guide. Good accommodation too.

It went to a ton of awesome places and Michael was a fantastic guide. His stories is interesting and the music was pretty good (loved the Big Country). I don’t care at all about whiskey but it was great hearing him talk about it because you could tell he was so knowledgeable and passionate about it. He even answered some of my non-tour related questions which was very kind! Definitely would recommend this tour if you want to hit some Scotland highlights in a short amount of time and Michael is a great guide for it.

It was an amazing experience
Michael and Murray were superb! They shared a lot of funny stories with us, which makes our bus journey full of laughter.

Every place we visited or stopped at was interesting or beautiful or both! My only complaint is that we had to pay out of pocket for every dinner and breakfast at where we stayed. I don't mind paying for snacks or lunches outside of our accommodation. I just thought that our dinners and breakfast at Morag's Lodge would be included with the tour.

I've just come back from the Haggis 3 day Skye High tour where we visited Dunkeld, Tomatin Distillery, Loch Ness, Fort Augustus, Isle of Skye & The Old Man of Storr, Glencoe and Stirling (amongst a fe…I've just come back from the Haggis 3 day Skye High tour where we visited Dunkeld, Tomatin Distillery, Loch Ness, Fort Augustus, Isle of Skye & The Old Man of Storr, Glencoe and Stirling (amongst a few others).
Michael the tour guide was just wonderful, he had extensive knowledge of stories, folklore, history and facts throughout the places we visited, and he was extremely relatable, offering some great banter and making sure everyone was looked after and having a great time, to the point where we all wished we were on a 5 day tour rather than 3. We had some great weather and I was so surprised we got to hike up to The Old Man of Storr, that was great. It was so nice that Michael came too as it meant we could get to know him as well as our fellow tour peeps.
The bus was very comfortable, and there were enough stops along the way so you didn't feel you ever sat down for too long. Morags Lodge hostel was great; all those who worked there were friendly and courteous; we had an awesome time playing trivia on the first night there. The dinner is delicious and I was easily catered for (being vegan), and breakfast was cheap simple staples, however you could self cater for both meals if you wanted. There was always something I could eat throughout the town stops during the trip and I was never left hungry, nor was my only option salad.
I think we were so fortunate as a tour group, I felt so many of us (including myself) connected with each other on quite a deep level after barely any time together, and this included Michael. Thanks for being so down to earth with us all, you really made the tour top notch. I very very highly recommend Haggis and Michael for their tours. I think this, and the people I met, will be something I'll remember and cherish forever.

Michael was an amazing guide and I wouldn’t have enjoyed Scotland so much if I hadn’t gone on this tour with Haggis. Getting a taste of the local culture along with a local definitely enhances your experience. Being a solo traveller, I made some really good friends on this tour and never felt as if I were on my own. The pub night at Morag’s lodge on the banks of the Lochness was one of the best parts of the tour! Also, you get to take part in some interesting Scottish traditions. Michael went over and above and invited us to do Ceilidh that Haggis had organised for the Hogmanay tour guys (although we were on the tour before Hogmanay)! I would definitely recommend touring with Haggis and look forward to going on other tours with them in the future!
Awesome tour! I had a blast travelling the country with Michael as a guide. I would highly recommend visiting Scotland and booking this tour when you go!

The itinerary was a great way to maximise the sights and take in the history of Scotland over the 5 days. There was never a dull moment in the bus as there was always opportunities to have the tour tailored around us.
By a long shot what made the tour so enjoyable was our guide Michael. His knowledge and ownership of Scottish history was really admirable with a perfect mix of humour and history to always keep a smile on our faces. Our entire group thoroughly enjoyed their time on the tour and this was largely due to how Michael tailored the tour around us. I will certainly be reccommmending this to others.

I had heard that the guides themselves were generally pretty knowledgeable on the topics, could be quite entertaining and had a talent for enabling their group to have a great holiday.
Fair to say I had high expectations. I’m pleased to say that these were exceeded in every way and this in no small part is down to Michael - our guide and bus driver extraordinaire for the 5 days. He clearly knows his subject material, whether that be History, Culture, Scotch, Geography, Ancient tectonic plate shifting effects on the terrain (I can only assume this was the truth) or the numerous hilarious anecdotes from his personal life. He is without doubt one of the funniest people I have ever been around and he made the five days an absolute pleasure. When it’s time to hang up the keys to the bus he could probably make a great deal of money in stand up comedy.
The rest of the passengers on tour were a great group of people and we had a blast both on the bus, at the various sites visited and after hours. The accomodation was basic but we all accepted that to go through the Highlands the options would be limited. As a result the Highland Fling was excellent value for money and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a holiday that ticks every box for educational, cultural and more fun than you could imagine.
And if I ran a travel company I’d hire Michael MacRae without hesitation and pay him whatever he demanded.

The accomodation is what you would expect for hostel/backpacker accomodation but the meals were top notch. Having said all of this the thing that really made the tour was our guide, Michael. Hands down the best tour guide I have encountered, he was extremely knowledgeable and displayed a genuine love for his country. He was personable and found the perfect balance between education and engaging with his group - I don’t have enough positive things to say about the man and would highly recommend anyone going to Scotland to do this tour and hope they are lucky enough to have him as a guide

We were traveling with a few girls and he was super willing to help us at all hostels to make sure we were always rooming together. Our group became really close on our 5 day tour, definitely wouldn’t of happened or been the same

We met the most wonderful people and had so many new memories and laughs (and hangovers). Our tour guide Michael was absolutely fantastic. His knowledge about the history of the highlands and his enthusiasm in story telling really made the trip. To clarify, he was downright hilarious. He gave great recommendations of places to eat and drink in each select town we visited, was attentive to our interests and requests and always made for such an exciting day regardless of weather. He consistently made the effort to trailer the trip to his passengers and always made sure that everyone was having a great time. Without a doubt, the trip would not have been the same without him.

My use of a cane was not an issue as Michael assisted whenever there was a need.

My only regret is that not more food was included in a package, the tesco tour gets old fast, and the Jacobite train was pretty boring and underwhelming for $89 Canadian each. Was only able to rate one but both were great. Michael is a fantastic guide who is fun, open, tells great stories about the places we visited and is inclusive to everyone on the tour. It was a joy to have him as a guide and you can tell he thoroughly enjoys what he does.
Yvonne was also very good, difficult coming in halfway through a tour when connections were already made, but she gave many details about the history of the places and also made the end of the tour enjoyable. A lot of fun so thank you to them both.
Tour itself will not disappoint, seeing a lot of remote parts of Scotland.
Only one negative was the accomodation on the isle of Skye.
A note to haggis - it would be good to have one guide for the entire tour for continuity for both the travellers and the guides. Perhaps an extra day in Skye (different accomodation) and another day in Oban that way the driver has rest days.
I absolutely loved this weekend away. It was the highlight of my trip so far and I can’t see it being surpassed anytime soon. If you are planning on visiting Scotland, do this tour. The tour was good. Michael was great. Breakfast should be included in the hostel fee cuz one night fee was a bit expensive than i thought.
Also the time we spent on each spot was a bit less.
