I was super nervous before going on it as it was my first time out of the country but one life and our tour guide kate made sure everything ran smoothly and was always more than happy to fix any problem you came to her with. She felt like a sister away from home. It was great to explore more of Indonesia than just Bali and experience activities that are often not done by tourists when they visit. Our tour guide was as excited about every activity that we did as we were, which made me feel comfortable trying new things. At every meal we were given suggestions of the best things to get on the menu. The food was good for the most part considering the areas we were in. Each hotel experience was incredible with friendly staff. Transportation at times was long but worth it for each of the locations we went to.
I could not have asked for a better group of travelers or a better tour guide to lead us on this trip through Indonesia. I have made friends and memories with people all over the world. Kate did an excellent job to making sure everyone had the best time possible which is what truly made this trip unforgettable. Through this tour I have learned a great deal about the culture of Indonesia and have fostered a greater appreciation for responsible tourism and the importance of caring for the environment. It was evident that this is an issue that kate cares about deeply and it showed throughout the tour as we met with locals. I am ending this tour with nothing but good memories.

My trip through Indonesia was unreal. I chose to tour with One Life for a second time because everything is always thoroughly organised and runs smoothly without hiccups. I chose to tour with One Life for a second time because everything is always thoroughly organised and runs smoothly without hiccups. The company chooses activities off the beaten track which makes it a more unique and special experience. The guides also educate everyone about being responsible tourists and don’t partake in any activities that are not ethical (ie. animal tourism) which is something I feel strongly about. Some travel days can be long but it’s far from not being worth it. Mt Bromo was breathtaking and I can’t say I would’ve seen any of Java if I didn’t go with One Life. I love an active holiday that includes a bunch of outdoor activities (snorkelling, hiking, waterfalls, surfing etc.) and I got all that with this trip.
Kate is honestly the best guide out. She’ll go above and beyond for all her guests to ensure they have the best experience possible. She felt like our best mate rather than our tour guide. I can’t fault her. She’s patient, funny, kind and so passionate about her job. Her love of the ocean and environment in general is evident and she’s a world of knowledge. You know you’ve had a great tour guide and crew when you’re incredibly sad to be leaving. The last 12 days have been unforgettable.
I’ll definitely be travelling with One Life again in the future!

The accommodations, transportation, and food were all well thought out and great. The travel was a lot at times, but was definitely well worth it. Our tour guide, Kate, was amazing and made everyone feel welcome and included. She was very informed on everything we were doing and was willing to do anything to help you if you needed. She was like a big sister to all of us. I would love to take another one of her tours, she really made the group feel like a family. It was an amazing trip and I had so much fun. I also loved the eco tourism aspect of all their tours. It is clear they really care about the planet and it reinforced my own beliefs as well. I would highly recommend this tour and would do this trip over in a heartbeat.

I really enjoyed trying new/traditional Indonesian food, but it was also nice to go to restaurants that felt more like home at times. The food everywhere was honestly better than I had anticipated coming into this trip. Although there were long days of travel, every destination was absolutely worth it (especially Java). My favorite part of the tour was that it was more off the beaten path and wasn’t a classic Bali beach resort tour. I thoroughly enjoyed every activity and appreciated that we didn’t feel forced to participate if we didn’t want to. Every day and every activity impressed me further than the day before. My only suggestion is that the hotel in Gili T was a little tough, but every other accommodation blew me away. I’m so appreciative for this tour and Kate and I could not have asked for a better two weeks. Thank you so much One Life and Kate!

This trip is truly amazing and a real eye opener to what really matters in life. To experience such a vast variety of this beautiful country is absolutely astonishing. From white sands and clear seas in Permuteran to a breathtaking sunrise in our woolly hats in Java, it is impossible to chose a favorite activity.
What I love about OneLife is how we get to visit and experience 'off the beaten track' of Bali and Java and get a real sense of the culture. The philosophy of 'responsible tourism' is a huge unique point to this company as everything we do is mindful of the environment and the people who live here.
This trip is 110% worth the travel as the experience gained is invaluable and I will never forget my time here. I have had made once in a lifetime memories with my incredible boyfriend, but also met the most phenomenal people and I have made friends for life. Kate has been an incredible guide and we cannot wait to rebook onto the Philippines tour with her, she is my ozzie best chick!

The people of this tour have been absolutely amazing and we have had the opportunity to experience so many things. I cant fault this tour if i tried and Kate our tour guide has been incredible, i don't want to book our next tour to the Philippines without her being there. This tour has been beyond i could imagine and seeing 2 parts of Indonesia (bali and java) has given me such a varied experience. Surprisingly, I think i may have enjoyed Java more than bali!! Mount bromo and red island where particular highlights.
My trip started off very stressful with flight delays and lost baggage, I was so lucky to be on this tour for them to help me sort this out.
Kate has been a fantastic tour guide and friend - she has helped us through the worst and provided us with the best experiences. Her knowledge on sea life is brilliant and makes the snorkeling trips extra special. Her food choices were also 10/10.
Maybe a downside is a couple of the long travel days but this cant be helped when you want to do Java and bali.
Overall, I would recommend anyone to do this tour, especially as a solo traveler - I would never had been able to plan a trip like this alone. You will meet friends for life who also enjoy traveling and the sangria on Gili T is great ;)

I booked the Indonesia Bali/Java tour and it has been incredible. Java was without doubt my favorite. I loved how you got to see local life and really get out of the tourist spots to experience the culture properly. The activities have been brilliant and well organized. I could go into detail but this review would be more like a story! The only negative is the 7 hour journey during the day after Mount Bromo. It was worth it in the end, but I'd probably prefer an overnight travel. This may not be possible, and understandably so. It's a long journey but it is broken up with toilet stops and lunch so it is doable for those who suffer with car sickness but just be aware before you book that there is early mornings and some long travel time. The early mornings are great as you make the most of the day. Kate, our tour guide, has been great. I feel like I have left the tour with new friends (Kate), along with the people in my group. We have made lots of amazing memories together. She has knowledge and lots of info on Indonesia which has been very interesting. Kate also has a lot of patience and is able to communicate with all the group as a group and individually. I will certainly miss my time in Indonesia and look forward to coming back soon. Next up, our reunion tour in the Philippines (Hopefully with Kate!) If you're thinking of booking a One Life tour, do it. You won't regret it.

Kate was an amazing guide who was always checking in on us to make sure we were ok/happy/comfortable etc. and was able to quickly adapt to any hiccups that may have come up. I’ve used other tour companies, but One Life included so much more than their competitors. I also loved how eco friendly and responsible they strive to be with their water refill stations at each hotel and the beach cleanup (optional). I would highly recommend this tour and am looking forward to traveling again with them in the future! I would note that this isn’t a party tour, so if you’re looking for more of that over adventure, I would maybe go with another tour.

Great tour. Loved the surfing, climbing Mt Bromo and Ubud. Kate and Brooke were great and made sure we knew everything we needed to make the tour seem smooth and effortless.

All the accomdations were comfortable and spacious. Each twin room came with toilet and shower facilities which was great for privacy. There was a great balance between travel days and down time. It is also evident that the tour is well researched because there are hidden gems that we got to see outside of the big tourist areas.

During the 12 days you see and do a lot of things (waterfall, temples, monkey forest, riceterraces, etc..). My personal favourites were; the sunrise and hike to the Bromo volcano in Java, the surf lessons at red island and snorkeling with green sea turtles in Gili T! I really feel like I fully experienced Indonesia. To see all of this, a few travel days are necessary, but for me that was more than worth it and it definitely paid off. It also did not bother me since the transport was well organized (on time, and comfortable).
For me it was the first time to travel with a tour, and I really enjoyed it. It is so nice that everything is organized, that you know what you are going to do each day, and that you dont have the feeling you miss out on something.
I also liked travelling in a tour because you then travel with other people. I really liked the people in the group we travelled with. We really had a fun time and were a tight group. Now after 1 day, I already miss being around them, I hope we will meet up again one day..
I also think that the price for this tour is relatively cheap for what you get. You stay in some amazing accomodations (Kubuku and red islands were just a dream). And a lot is included (transport; jeeps, ferrys, trains, vans, boats and snorkel equipment, entrances, many meals/breakfast, guides, surflessons etc.).
And then finally (and maybe most importantly?) what really contributed to make this experience a "one life experience" was the tour guide, Kate Justice. She really made the tour amazing. Besides from having a great sense of humor and being a lot of fun, she informed us well about the planning, activities, things that could happen, culture and history. You really knew what to expect and I personally really value that to know what you are up to. She also made sure we had a good time, by organizing games, quizzes, good songs in the car, nice chats, etc. She also made sure everyone felt comfortable and got included. If there would have been a problem, I would for sure have approached her, and I think it is important that a guide has that quality. It is ashame that she doesn't do the Sri Lanka or Japan tour in the near future, otherwise I think I would have booked one again really soon (;
For now, I first have to finish my study , but after that it is most likely that I go on another One Life Adventure Tour again !

I have to highly rate Kate Justice as a tour guide - she was understanding, empathetic and extremely knowledgable. Kate was a fantastic tour guide and on hand to support with no matter what, especially as I suffered from Bali Belly. The experience from a week before flying to departure was perfect and all I could ask for and more. Overall, I have never done this before and damn well will do it again with one life adventures.. thank you Holly.

Loved the whole tour, the group had a range of ages still allowing us to all get along and have heaps of fun! I loved how environmentally friendly the tour was and how eco it was! We also got to climb bromo which allowed us to see the most amazing sunrise! I also had the chance to climb mount Ijen which to this day has been the best thing I’ve ever done! It was amazing getting to see the blue flames!! Gili t was also a highlight with the accomodation being amazing and the day trips on the water! Even bike riding along the path with the group was amazing!

I love that this tour goes out of Bali and into Java where there are hardly any tourists! In Java we were taken to a small village where we had dinner at a local’s home which was definitely a highlight as we were able to see the ‘real’ Indonesia. Bali and Java are amazing places and to have Kate show us around topped it all off. She was incredible and really showed how much her (and One Life) care about ethical tourism by doing the most for the local people and environment - something that means so much to me personally. :)

I would recommend this tour to people who want to experience real Indonesian culture and more than just the typical Instagram Bali spots. You get to visit 3 islands in total, Bali, Java and Gili T. To do this you get to experience different methods of transport, which include vans, trains, and ferry’s. This tour includes a range of activities, from walking Mount Bromo to snorkelling with turtles. Personally, I was really not looking forward to the mountain walk, but with help from the tour guide Kate, she helped me overcome my anxiety and got me to the top! I did not expect to enjoy it, but I really did! The accommodation was cool and everywhere was clean. Kate was an amazing tour guide, who made sure that we was having an amazing time throughout the tour. Without her, I would not have had so much fun. A big thanks to her and One Life so such a great trip!

From the waterfalls, sunrise on mount bromo (bring warm clothes), climbing mount bromo and seeing the active volcano, surfing in red island... the list is endless.

Kate made the trip flow very smoothly and was great to have around. Having a local guide, Ika, who was also with us during the whole trip is what set this tour apart from others as we can learn the culture, and the best tips and tricks for optimising my stay in Indonesia. 10/10!!

There was a god mount of travelling which allowed us to see different cultures but the travelling never seemed a chore as you'll almost always be crossing beautiful landscape. I am very happy with the locations we visited, I feel like I have seen a lot more of Indonesia than I expected. I would highly recommend this tour to friends and family over holiday on your own. Our tour guide was very involved in all aspects of the tour and felt like she was one of us, while making sure we were all happy and comfortable. She joined in with the group and was one of the team, with an excellent ability to adapt and improvise while making every experience the most enjoyable for each individual. The accomodation was way better than I expected and although there are some Asian differences we truly got pampered.

I really enjoyed our daily activities, such as, visiting Iwahig prison, island hopping in Port Barton and being lucky enough to even camp on one of the private islands. Kate is such a friendly and vibrant tour guide and is very helpful in providing any information we may need. She was really lovely to us and gave us all the insight on the best places to eat and things to do in the towns we visited. I really enjoyed this tour overall and I will highly recommend One Life Adventures to anyone who would like to experience a once in a lifetime tour in South East Asia.

The trip had a lot of have relax/ holiday time when sometimes finishing other tours tired but however with this tour was very relaxing.
From start (travel docs and contact before travel) during and to finish has been easy!
Kate was really easygoing making the trip chilled also. It was really lovely to see how amazing the relationship between the local suppliers and Kate was, really special!. The local suppliers we’re also amazing.

The main reason I was doing the trip was because the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River is one the New7 Wonders of Nature and I wanted to tick that box on my bucket list. To my surprise, the beaches and islands we visited throughout the trip were very impressive and the days included a lot of activities so there wasn’t a lot of downtime where I’d find myself bored and melting on the beach. Our tour leader Kate was always helpful whenever I had questions to ask her. This tour is a great way to see Palawan island in the Phillipines with a lot of included activities compared to other tour companies out there.

I really enjoyed my time in El Nido at Spin Hostel. It was really clean, well put together and much more spacious then most hostels. Kate made sure to show us around in each location and take us to all the good eating spots!
It was really nice how Kate got on with us all so well and felt like part of the gang rather than just someone who was showing us around. She knew how to have a good laugh and look after us all at the same time! She was also really good at engaging everyone and encouraging people to take part and get involved with things like games to break the ice.
Thank you so much for an amazing time and I will definitely be booking with OneLifeAdventures again for sure... I already can’t wait for the Japan tour I’ve already booked, if this tour was anything to go by, I’ll adore it as well.

I particularly appreciated the emphasis on 'responsible tourism' that Kate largely encouraged, it has definitely made me more aware for my future travels. Her love for the country is clear and has definitely spread! As an additional bonus, it was my birthday whilst out on the tour, and I never felt homesick for a second! The group sang to me and Kate arranged a cake for me too, definitely a birthday to remember! Kate was very accommodating, helping myself and everyone else plan post-tour adventures. Accommodation overall was good. I wouldn't have minded paying a little extra and staying somewhere a bit more modern.
Only other feedback may have been in the earlier parts of the tour talking through places to buy snacks etc once we got to El Nido it was fine as we were based in the same spot.

The island hopping and underground river were two of my favourite activities, but there honestly wasn’t one activity that I didn’t enjoy.
My group was great and our tour guide, Kate, was fantastic. She was enthusiastic from day one and was always so helpful and knowledgeable, but also really fun and very good at bringing the group together.
I can’t believe how quickly the time passed and I’m already looking at the next One Life tour that I can book onto next year.

Island hopping was amazing as you get to see many different places as well as snorkelling in beautiful spots. I wasn’t a fan of camping on a private island as camping is not my thing but Kate made it a pleasant experience.

If I had to choose a few main highlights during the tour it would be; spending a night on OLA’s Private Island, simply tranquility defined. “The Philippine Experience” in El Nido where we climbed coconut trees, cooked, danced, arts and crafts, tons of laughs and made fresh coconut oil. We were then met by a family of adorable puppies on the beach cuddling to our hearts content and showing the love toward Kates new business “ Paws In Paradise “
Followed by Zip-lining our way over the crystal blue waters and watching the sunset at Outpost Beach Bar.

We had a really good insight into genuine Filipino life which isn’t always the case when travelling with a tour, and Kate’s passion about different destinations and the locals really made it feel like our money was benefitting the right people. The private island stay in Port Barton was an absolute highlight and something completely unique to OneLife. Having worked in the travel industry for a couple of years I can honestly say that in terms of value for money OneLife would be hard to beat, and imagining even attempting that itinerary as a solo travel made it seem even more worthwhile. Would definitely travel with OneLife in future :)

I feel that the tour had an excellent dichotomy between giving you the chance to explore on your own and having the guided experience that will give you memories for a lifetime. Transportation was great drivers and boat operators always very kind and made you feel safe. Even getting to experience local transportation such as the trikes. The accommodations were nothing special but only once did i not feel comfortable in my own room, which when expressed was sorted out in a timely manner by our helpful guide Kate. Most of the included meals all though good left a little to be desired in variety often being the same/similar meals from day to day. Once again our guide Kate comes to the rescue and will take the group to the best places in town for a delicious meal with a wide variety in styles. Kate's love for the Philippines was noticeable from day one, never seen without a smile. Kate was also very helpful with any questions or concerns you may have often getting them sorted out right away. Most mornings Kate could be seen helping the other guests out with their plans like transportation, destinations, or accommodations for once their tour was finished giving you a sense that she authentically cares about you and you are not just left on your own once the tour is done. Overall I would suggest this tour to any one traveling the Philippines, i have left very satisfied with my experience and plan on taking another One Life tour in the future!

It all starts before you even arrive in the Philippines. Our helpful guide Kate was able to answer any questions and get rid of any concerns you may have. She also gave us all of the steps that we needed so that once we were in the Philippines we could reach our first destination. (Z Hostel) Even arranging a car to come pick us up from the airport at the time we arrived. The destinations that we visited were all breathtaking. Everywhere we went we felt the need to take a picture so that we could remember the beautiful views there are in the Philippines. The Itinerary was excellent in balancing the dichotomy between keeping you busy enough that you felt that you could also do your own thing exploreing in your own way and guiding you through your adventure showing the stunning beauty that’s is the Philippines. Transportation is great weather it be from bus to boat all of the travel was comfortable and reasonable. On the long bus trips even playing games to help pass the time. Most of the accommodations we average I would say some are better some are worse there was only one time that I did not feel comfortable sleeping in the provided room, our guide was very helpful in getting us moved into a new room which was much nicer and got everything sorted out. The meals were very good but lacked in variety most days we had fairly similar lunches in the included meals. Any other meals Kate (our guide) would suggest a restaurant usually being a delicious meal with tones of variety. I do not thing that we could have had a better guide Kate was very helpful every step of the way, always able to sort out any issues or answer any questions you may have. I remember almost every morning Kate would be out helping our fellow travelers figure out there accommodations, transportation, and even destinations that they would go to after the tour was over giving a sense of ease where you do not feel that as soon as the tour is over you are just left on your own. You can really feel her passion for the Philippines in every activity you do, never seen without a smile on her face. I put my complete trust in Kate and feel that she drastically improved the experience that we had. Would 100% recommend this tour to anyone I know.

It’s great for a solo traveler or new travelers because you’re very rarely by yourself. If you’re more of an experienced/independent traveler than it might not be your cup of tea. There’s a good amount of activity, but nothing too strenous that you need to be athletic. Our tour was 21 people and the age range was 19-30. There’s a lot of beach time, but the beaches were beautiful! I love how One Life is concerned about the environment and we were able to fill up our water bottles to cut down on the plastic waste.

Kate almost felt more like a friend that knows all the dos and donts than a strict scheduled tour guide, she found the perfect balance and made me feel very happy and safe. The transport accommodation and food was all top notch and great value for money (amazing honestly!). I met some amazing people we all clicked instantly (as always with one life). I couldn’t recommend this tour more and I just want to say a big thank you to kate for putting up with my “no chill” anxiety I’ll miss you derely!

Meals always kept us well fed and the locally prepared lunches were especially delicious. The huge fresh fish grilled on the boat while we swam was worth a special mention.
Kate is a legend. She went out of the way to make sure everyone got the most out of the experience. Even with our particularly accident prone group. Kate’s love of the Philippenes islands and it’s people was obvious. We were lucky to see this beautiful place through her eyes and share her love for the country. By the end of the trip our group felt like a family. I don’t think everyone would have connected so strongly with a different guide.
The accomodation and transport had some minor issues, but nothing that impacted any parts of the trip.
Overall this tour was exceptional and far exceeded my expectations. I have already started recommending it to others. A group of us from this tour are already planning a One Life Sri Lanka trip.

The itinerary has a great mix of activities and inclusions that were well organised. There was only one activity was was not included (zip line) but, we were so spoilt for inclusions making this tour fantastic value for money. Some of my highlights were Island Hopping, School Visit, Private Beach Camp and some of the most beautiful snorkel spots in Palawan. A great mix of culture, adventure, beach and fun.
As a large group we had the coaster getting us around Palawan which Kate made sure everyone was comfortable as there are a few long journeys. They also include a few trike rides which are exciting!
In terms of accommodation Port Barton was one of my favourites, just do not expect hot water or wifi as we are going back to basics which is fab. I also really loved the One Life Exclusive beach camp. Expect no one but your One Life Fam, some amazing local guides and a few stars at night. A once in a lifetime experience.
We had so many meals included which was a mix of local and western food which was great. We even cooked our own local dish which was one of the best dishes i tried here.
Kate our tour guide is the best person to introduce you to this beautiful part of the world. She made everyone feel welcome and as a family we had some grewat laughs. She truly is passionate about the Philippines, very informative and is the best tour guide.
OL are about giving back as much as possible which was shown through-out the tour. After visiting the school project and meeting the locals it is easy to see why they are so loved here. They truly are creating a sustainable tourism company which gives back to the locals.
10/10 could not recommend this tour enough

You also get the change to do things that you normally wouldn't do if you would plan your own trip. As example; sleep on a private island and see 6 different stunning islands in one day! I came alone to this trip but felt very welcome and I never was actually alone.
Kate our tour leader was really nice! It was good to see how passionate she is about the Philippines. She’s really fun and helpful as well! She showed us so many cool places.
I would definitely recommend ’one life adventures’ to people who wanna explore the Philippines!

I couldn’t fault any of the restaurants or accommodation we visited and both catered everyone’s requirements. I couldn’t recommend this tour enough for solo travellers as camping on a private island wouldn’t have been an option for me otherwise and it turned out to be a really highlight for me.

It was amazing how much we could pack into every day! The accomodation well exceeded my expectations and the staff at every venue was so helpful and friendly. I think that the tour itself was a great balance of adventure, culture and fun.
Kate was a spectacular guide and could not have asked for a better person to introduce us to the phillipines. She was fun, easy going, full of knowledge and always such a spark of energy. Thank you for answering my constant stream of questions, you've given me plenty of tips to build my confidence to continue my solo journey through this beautiful country! It was also a privillige to be introduced to Kate's friends in Palawan and have the opportunity to learn a bit more about the culture and their day to day lives.

I was initially apprehensive about joining a tour group as a solo traveller, but I can honestly say that I have had the best experience ever.

I have been able to explore and learn so much more about life int he Philippines than if I was travelling independently. The highlights for me must be the prison visit, school visit, island hopping and the over night stay on the island. These are all things that I would not have had the resources to do on my own- and they were all made so much more enjoyable by doing them with friends!
The food on the trip was absolutely amazing- the best parts must be the grilled fish, and bbq dishes that we ate on the beaches for lunchtimes.
Kate has been an exceptional guide and friend for this trip. Her knowledge of the Phillipenes is incredible, and I feel privileged that she has shared everything she knew about the local areas with us all. She was always on hand to answer any questions and queries off of people (however repetitive they may be!) and was always so cheery and bubbly.

The highlights of the trip have to be the days on the boats, swimming with turtles and visiting the starfish.
The food for the whole trip has been delicious, the best things we’ve eaten are the dinners on the beach front where we ate traditional food- the fish dishes weee just amazing.
Kate has been such an incredible guide and such a good friend for this whole trip. Every day has been so much fun and I genuinely don’t think that I have ever laughed so much in my life. She was so accommodating, had great banter and was always around to help if we had any questions! Her knowledge of the area was fantastic, and I have experienced way more than if I was here on my own.
I have fallen in love with the Philippines and a already making plans to come back. Thank you so much Kate and One Life Adventures!

She was v.informative , helpful and her passion for the Philippines shone through as she guided and shared her expertise during our stay. Her positive and cheerful demeanor was infectious and I want to thank her for her efforts. The activities planned were all enjoyable and there was a lot to do and see ; I know that I would not have experienced so much had I not booked through One Life. The transportation provided was basic but was inclusive of the airport transfers which is a plus as it takes the stress away from having to plan that element of the trip. In terms of the accommodation, I think this could be improved in some locations, understandably some remote areas don’t have a lot of option however Elsa’s did have rooms with aircon and hot water which would have been the preferrable option. Again with the additional supplement paid for private accommodation, a higher standard would have been expected to justify the price. When it comes to the food, the eateries recommended by Kate were all very tasty and welcomed as some of the food provided within the tour was less than average. I think expectations need to be managed to accommodate western clientele for example specifying in advance that the Filipino food might not be suitable therefore offering the option to grab a packed lunch in advance to ensure all tastes are satisfied. All in all, I agree with the company values that you hold and I would highly recommend the tour as well as Kate as a hostess. With some improvements, this tour could definitely outdo the competition. Thank you for the memories.

The tour was a great way to see/do loads of things in a short space of time. I can’t believe we fitted so much in in 9/10 days. Kate was a great tour guide - very enthusiastic and was always on hand t…The tour was a great way to see/do loads of things in a short space of time. I can’t believe we fitted so much in in 9/10 days. Kate was a great tour guide - very enthusiastic and was always on hand to answer questions and made sure we knew what to pack/expect for each day which I liked. The Facebook group/photo sharing app she organised was really good. If I’m being honest I found the provided meals below average and unappetising but the dinners or lunches that weren’t included and we paid for ourselves were usually based on Kate’s personal recommendations which were very good and we had decent meals that I enjoyed. I like one life’s ethos of supporting local businesses i.e some of the eateries, however that should be based on a satisfactory level of standards that cater for western tastes instead of fish and rice every day which gets very monotonous. E.g the day of the underground river - a much better idea would have been to ask Canvas hotel to provide a higher standard of packed lunches rather than the lunch provided at the River buffet. The accomodation overall was basic, I found Z hostel very noisy, the hotel in Puerto Princesa was lovely but a bit of a waste considering it was the shortest stay we had and we didn’t really get to avail of the amenities like the pool etc. Higher class accomodation in El Nido/Port Barton would have been preferable as you actually spend much longer there. The hostel in El Nido had great staff, couldn’t be more helpful. Having paid the private room supplement approx 165 each (total £340 for a group of 2) there is no way the rooms we had in comparison to the standard dorms were worth £340 of an additional fee based on prices of the accomodation online which is disappointing given we probably could have had a higher standard of accomodation if we booked ourselves. the transport options included on the tour really do encompass everything and you get to experience the most amazing views on the boats, the coach options were quite cramped but understandably a necessary evil. Highlights were the Philippine experience day & boat party tour. I have seen more than I ever would have if I had of done this trip on my own but I do still feel there are aspects of the tour which could be improved - despite this I would still recommend one life to anyone who is looking to experience all the phillipines has to offer in 9 days with Kate an excellent, informed, enthusiastic guide and it is a great chance to meet new people and have a laugh while exploring a beautiful country.

The tour reminded me very much of a high school summer camp, which comes with both the good and bad. The meals were mostly decilicious, however, I did not enjoy the fish restaurant on the second night as it took hours to get food and was not the cleanest of places. The accommodation was mostly good, Port Barton was very basic, but the vibe was incredible and a highlight of the trip! Camping on the beach was also lots of fun and was a once in a lifetime experience! The biggest disappointment for me was the El Nido boat day. We couldn’t drink on the boat due to a new restriction. I was really looking forward to it and I feel it would have made the day a lot better. Another frustration was we didn’t get to go kayaking in the El Nido and do Tour C. This was due to both wind cancelling the trip and a new restriction limiting the amount of people in the area. Since this is one of the must sees of El Nido i was pretty disappointed not to be able to experience this, or informed of the new restrictions so I could have rethought my trip a little. All in all, Kate was an amazing tour guide. She constantly checked in with you and made you feel welcome and part of the group. Overall, I had a really fun time and fell in love with the Philippines.

The accommodation for the most part was very good. The final hostel in El Nido was very nice with amazing staff.

She was a perfect blend of being fun, yet professional when necessary. We had bad luck with rain during the tour but she was quick to always find a plan B. She was very good at co-ordinating our large group (22) to ensure we were on time to everything. She showed great knowledge and experience when speaking about the history of the Phillipines. I would definitely consider One Life Adventures for future tours.

I think the dynamic of the group and whole experience was exponentially better because of her authenticity. The private island was such a unique and breathtaking experience we couldn’t have gotten anywhere else. To be totally disconnected from the world, simply be present and bond for a short while was a rarely beautiful experience. You have to be open minded with the accomodation and really embrace it but as with the whole tour, you get out what you put in. Little touches like getting a delicious personalised cake for my husband’s birthday were very sweet. Overall, I’m so glad we booked this trip and would highly recommend taking this tour!

Kate was a great guide and went above and beyond to make the trip as great as possible. She provided enough information to make sure we could go out for the day and be prepared without ruining the sur…Kate was a great guide and went above and beyond to make the trip as great as possible. My only criticism here would be that it would have been useful to have worn closed footwear for the Philippine experience day and taken flip flops in the day bag, rather than being recommended that flip flops would be better. She managed to organise dinner on Christmas day and a private party for New Years for the whole group which was amazing and went out of her way to make bookings at restaurants for smaller groups based on everyone's preferences.
The itinerary has the perfect amount of downtime and activities, for the school trip I would have preferred this to have been more structured (i.e. assisting with teaching English in smaller groups) as I found it hard to engage with the kids. I scored the meals down as the general quality of service and food was not amazing although this is probably more a Philippines issue than a One Life issue, however with a group this size, splitting into smaller groups may have worked better even if the meals were staggered at the same restaurants as there were some long waits for food.

I think we should have been a little better informed on what some of the activities were ahead of doing them, for example we arrived at the local school with no money so could not give them anything extra for them hosting us.
I would recommend this trip to my friends for sure and thought Kate was a good host, but couls as mentioned before, have been a little more informative of the activities in advance.

The tour was very well structured and organized; be it accommodation, bus rides or provisions for daily needs, there was virtually nothing we had to take care of ourselves. Credits for that go to Kate, our tour guide, who was helpful when we had questions, provided late night medical care and last but not least was extremely easy to get along with. If anything at all has room for improvement, the choice of local restaurants could’ve been more fortunate in some cases (long waiting times and limited offering). Overall, the amazing group experience I've had, combined with the impressions gained from the local activities, definitely left me with incredibly awesome, lasting memories.

Kate, our tour guided was well experienced with wisdom and knowledge of the Philippines as well as the local towns and people. Kate also educated us with what one life adventures do alongside the local communities. It was not only a vacation but an educated experience.
Highly recommend to those wanting to experience something new with a twist and those on a budget! I will consider to do other one life adventures!!!

Very lovely and friendly and she had like six sense, she was able to read everyone's personality (likes/dislikes) within a day or two. I highly recommended this tour for those looking to travel to the Philippines on a budget or just wanting to experience something new. Its 100% one of my best experiences, whilst overseas, especially Port Barton, and the amazing overnight beach camping!

I am sure it goes without saying that the island hopping was completely mind blowing - waking up to open the tent to face the island and ocean was the best was to start my day.
It was great to see the community and environmental aspect of One Life and in particular our amazing tour guide Kate. She was informative, patient, friendly and always caring. It was clear that Kate valued the ocean, the environment, the community and that she had already formed such a great connection to the locals.
I can't wait to see how One Life grows over the next few years and will be without a doubt booking another trip soon so a very big thank you to One Life and especially to Kate for giving me a once in a lifetime experience.

I also love that the majority of the activities are included in this tour as I have found with previous tours with other companies a lot of the activities are optional. Kate and the group we have had on the tour have made the trip all that much better. The trip from start to finish was amazing! It was way above what I had expected. On top from all the amazing activities our tour guide Kate needs a special mention! Kate was amazing, from a nurse to a friend to an overall legend she had a solution for everything. She was never stressed (not that we knew) and lots of fun! This tour was action packed with activities ranging from swimming with turtles to zip lining to a totally different island. The tour guide Kate was incredibly accommodating making sure i never felt left alone me being the only single boy and letting everyone know the best spots for food. This was my fourth guided tour of asia and has definitely been my favourite. Philippines has so much to offer and some of the friendliest people i've met in my life, usually these tours can be tedious but the end of this one life adventure just left me wanting more. The amount and variety of activities that were packed into the trip were incredible; it's so hard to pick just one highlight from the island hopping, the zip line or the private island experience to name just a few. I also thought the trip was perfectly paced, as I have done tours in the past where they have felt rushed but this one did not. What I especially love about One Life and what I think makes this company stand out from the rest is the fact that it gives so much back to the communities and prides itself on sustainable tourism. And to top it all off I got to spend 10 days with the best group of people! I would 10000% recommend this tour to anyone looking to visit the Philippines and hope to do another tour with One Life in the future.

There was never a dull moment along the way, just packet with adventure. From boutique hostel to camping on a beach, this tour has it all. (Skinny dipping on the remote island at midnight is defiantly option but one of the highlights, just have respect for the locals and don't do it front of them !) Kate had all the right information, able to have fun with us as well as being caring and gently reminded us we have a huge day of activities the next day so dont get to carried away! 10/10

I’ve traveled with heaps of companies (G Adventures, Intro Tours, Contiki) and OneLife was by far the best company I’ve ever travelled with. They included so many activities I barely had to pay for anything. I have so much respect for the way their company operates, it’s clear the focus is on local sustainability and it’s such a pleasure to meet the locals, hear their stories, had be shown around by the experts. My favourite part was camping on the private island, sleeping under the stars, waking up to the beach sunrise then swimming with turtles. Best trip ever and I am so excited to do Sri Lanka with them next year!!

This tour has blown my mind and every day has been a new adventure that I will never forget. The people I have traveled with and met have been so welcoming and brilliant company. Kate Justice, was our guide and probably the most down to earth and genuine person I've ever met. Going above and beyond everyday and making sure we get from A to B as safely and as fun as possible. At no point did I feel unsafe and bored, this was mainly down to Kate. Overall, if you're considering booking onto this tour - DO IT! You won't regret it and will have memories to last a lifetime.

A very well run, organized tour with a great tour leader Kate and a great group of other travelers. Every day was filled with so many incredible activities. Whether it was boating around little islands and snorkling with turtles and around stunning coral reef or interacting with local Filipino people at schools and a prison or learning about Filipino culture or waking up on your own remote private island after swimming in the ocean under the surreal starry sky the night before or kayaking around the most amazing limestone cliffs around El Nido and the list goes on. This trip literally had it all. With One Life Adventures we were treated so well by the local people who were genuinely excited for us to be here and supporting all the local communities. Super cool. And tour leader Kate was so helpful in making the experience so much fun for everyone and well organized. Can't say enough good things. Definitely will be looking into future tours with One Life Adventures.

Our tour guide Kate was nothing short of amazing. So knowledgeable, so caring, and just a downright amazing human. She looked after us so well and made sure we all had the most amazing time (which we did). We had a sightly smaller group but we were all like family by the end. The One Life tour itself was so well thought out. You get to do a bit of everything - my highlight being camping on a private island, sitting around a bonfire and midnight stargazing - absolutely amazing. Thank you One Life and thank you Kate for making me a complete tour convert. I can't wait to do another (the Japan one looks amazing).

Being a vegetarian I was worried about the food I might get but the food was just waaay beyond amazing. Each meal along the trip just got better and better. The pizza I got at Gorgonzola literally made me cry (not even exaggerating, there's a video for proof!) I have never drooled that much in my life. When you think of paradise, this trip will give you paradise like you wouldn't even expect. The people I have met along the way and the friends I've made on this trip is something I will cherish and remember forever. There are so so many reasons to do this tour, from the island hopping to the food to the puppies at almost every place we got to! None of this would have been possible without our AMAZING tour leader Kate, she brought energy to every activity, went above and beyond to ensure every person on the tour was having a great time and the group mascot (Kate's puppy Kali) wasn't a bad addition either!!
The entirety of the tour was brilliant from start to finish. Some of the highlights include island hopping for two days where we got to swim with turtles (twice!). One of the stops on island hopping was stopping off at a local school and where we got to chat to the children, all of whom then performed some dance routines for us, and ended up with all of us dancing on stage at the end. We then camped on a private island overnight which was a once in a lifetime opportunity which we wouldn't have got to do without OneLife. We also got to partake in the Philippine Experience where we learnt how to climb a palm tree, took part in a cooking lesson and learnt how to stick fight! Our tour leader Kate was absolutely brilliant, super knowledgeable and friendly, giving the best recommendations and advice - she definitely counts as one of the highlights!!

Everything is thought of, all you have to do is show up.
As this is my second tour with OneLife, its obvious that I enjoy the way that everything is organised and how it promotes the motto of 'responsible travel' by giving back to the community in more ways than one - reusable bottles, sending support to local schools and communities through rubbish collection and using only local employees, something I hugely admire from an organisation that simply wants to express the love of travel in many different and unique ways whilst still supporting locals
The Philippine experiences gained from this amazing tour is just endless - from the way we live in each accomodation from Luxurious to Local, to the coral reefs explored during a snorkelling trip when island hopping. The local communities and schools we visited and supported throughout the tour only add one aspect of the adventure throughout. Trying different food and getting to know other people from all over the world that have come together for one reason - to explore the beauty of the Philippines and OneLife do exactly that
The people, the beaches, the food, the sunsets, the puppies, the culture, the way of life was a huge highlight to me but if I had to select 1 highlight from the tour to enclose the whole trip was the night away on our own private island off Port Barton, playing beach volleyball and finishing off with a feast and the some beverages around a fire playing games, it really couldn't get much better than that.

Highlight of the tour was our guide, Kate, she went above and beyond in all aspects of the trip, a genuine and kind person, who when a lot of the Philippines went into lock down at the end of our tour worked her guts off to make sure she got everyone where they needed to be safely. This meant spending 12+ hours of her time, effort and energy poured into her work and guests which proved she has a true passion for what she does and care for those she does it with. My highlight within the activities themselves would be going to the school and getting to meet, play and dance with all the beautiful kids who went there. Truely an indescribable experience!

Be prepared for a lot of snorkelling and getting around on a boat, only smaller variations from day to day. The water is clear and reefs are flowering! You should like sun, salt water, nature and sand, and be prepared for simple accommodations, sometimes without hot water. But it’s all worth it!
The clear water and colourful reefs. I didn’t have the opportunity to swim with turtles, but that’s a cool thing if you get the chance! I was really looking forward to the prison visit, but due to the ongoing corona virus they closed down for outsiders, which is understandable but unfortunate. Apart from the water and snorkelling, the cultural day was really funny and interesting.

Not what I've have expected. The tour guides were only for transport coordination and hotel check in. They not have any idea about the life, costume or culture of Bali or Indonesia. Not anything about religion or day by day life. Good girls, but only that. Another thing is that you need a good -moderate physical condition to go through some of the trekking and to manage your baggage by yourself and walk with it around local transportation like trains or ferry lines. Not easy if you have a carry one or a heavy back pack. It's ok. But they should let you know about it and let you decide first. And you will not receive any help from the guide. I fell down on the way out of a local ferry, and the guide never noticed that. They just keep walking with the rest of the group. For me the most disappointing thing was not be able to learn anything new. Only one of the local guides of one of the temple speak English fluently and gives us information about traditional rituals. Nothing else on a eleven days tour. Very sad.

Oh where to start, tour guide Kate was epic, the island hopping from Port Barton and El Nido, the sunset sundowners at Port Barton, the rooftop restaurants with amazing views, the sunset view restaurants, the crystal clear waters, the cultural experiences and the list could just go on forever! The group, even though with this one we were at max capacity, it was still lovely and everyone was adventurous and willing to give everything a go! Loved it all over! Might need better mattresses on the island camping though!

Personally the tour guides made my trip what it was, with both Kate Justice as our tour leader and Tom Debenham as our tour guide in training they both ensured our safety throughout the trip, and made it enjoyable from start to finish. Considering he was in training... tom did a fantastic job at being both professional and friendly. The sights speak for themselves.. how can you not enjoy it !

The intinerary was more or less exactly what I expected and a good balance of the adventurous and the 'touristy' type stuff for the 'gram. The One Life team also thoughtfully scheduled things so we would get decent downtime to relax, do washing, catch up on life admin, etc. I'd totally recommend this tour to anyone who is keen to see Bali and beyond at a really affordable price with a bunch of people who care about travellers' experiences and the environment.
