Looking at our booking patterns, you'll want to lock in your trip about 3 months (99 days) ahead, especially if you're eyeing popular activities like those Cappadocia balloon rides. If you're watching your budget, early spring or late fall often have better deals, with daily costs running between $50-100 for comfortable accommodations and food. Getting around Istanbul is pretty straightforward with trams, ferries and buses to all the main sites like the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia, but our first-time visitors really appreciate having a local guide - especially for navigating the Grand Bazaar and learning about Turkish customs.

The way these companies adapted during Covid shows a lot about how they operate. Tour Altinkum was particularly good about working with travelers on rescheduling and refunds, which isn't something every company managed well during that time.
