What people love about Grand Canyon Tours for Couples
- Highlights of the Canyonlands
My husband and I were originally going to drive this ourselves. We had seen a tour from another company with a similar itinerary and thought we might do it next year. On the spur of the moment I was looking online and encountered this Cosmos tour that was slightly shorter and cheaper than the other company. It fit into our schedule to do it this year so I went ahead and booked it. It surpassed our expectations and we had so much fun and met so many wonderful new friends from the US and abroad. The scenery speaks for itself but our tour guide Jeremy was so knowledgeable about the places we visited and it was so convenient to not have to drive ourselves and just sit back and enjoy the beautiful country we live in from a nice high motor coach. The driver, Chris was great and always made us feel safe. The coach was comfortable and clean and is an amazing way to see some of our beautiful natural wonders.
- Enchanting Canyonlands (Classic)
At the end of September I took the tour "Enchanting canyonlands" from Scottsdale, Arizona with Insight Vacations. The accomodation was always seminal and as a single, because I opted to share, I had my own room. The friendly guide was full of information, rotated bus seats and organised little extras for us. Tour Radar was an exemplary agent and I have recommended them to friends.
- Grand Canyon and More 3 day tour
In our case it was a small tour. Basically a sprinter van. It was comfortable, though there were just three of us plus a guide. There were regular planned rest stops and a friendly guide. The lunches were sandwiches and chips. Perfectly fine. The breakfast and dinners were at places with just amazing buffets (or you could order something). We stayed in hotels which were perfectly fine, as advertised. If you want more time at the various parks, go for a longer period to give a day at each one. Otherwise you have a few hours to do the tours or walk trails and back on the road to the next park. You get what you pay for and I feel we got a good deal.
What our customers ask about Romantic Grand Canyon Trips & Honeymoon Packages
What time of year is most romantic for Grand Canyon National Park?
Spring from March to May brings mild temperatures between 50-70°F (10-21°C) with colorful wildflowers dotting the landscape. Fall between September and November is equally lovely, with temperatures of 60-75°F (15-24°C) and fewer visitors to share those golden sunset views. Winter from December to February offers its own magic - picture snow-dusted red rocks and cozy evenings by the lodge fireplace, though you'll need to bundle up for temperatures between 20-45°F (-6 to 7°C). One TourRadar traveler shares: "Visiting in October was perfect - comfortable hiking weather, stunning fall colors, and plenty of private moments without summer crowds."
Where can couples enjoy romantic meals in Grand Canyon National Park?
El Tovar Dining Room is your best bet for a special dinner, with big canyon views and local Southwest dishes. The Arizona Room has a nice outdoor terrace that's perfect for a relaxed meal together, while Desert View Trading Post Cafe sits 25 miles east of the village - grab a table at sunset for amazing views. One TourRadar traveler tells us: "Dinner at El Tovar was a highlight - the atmosphere was perfectly romantic and the food was excellent." Make sure to book ahead, especially if you're visiting June through August. Plan on spending $25-45 USD per person for dinner entrees.
What romantic activities can couples do together at the Grand Canyon?
Start your day watching the sunrise together at Mather Point, or take a helicopter ride over the canyon for a real treat ($199-299 USD per person). Rafting trips down the Colorado River let you share an adventure, while the Rim Trail gives you space for quiet walks with incredible views. A TourRadar traveler remembers: "The guided rafting adventure to Horseshoe Bend was incredibly romantic, floating together while surrounded by towering canyon walls at 72°F (22°C)." For something different, take a jeep tour through Monument Valley, about 175 miles from the South Rim.
How can couples find more private spots at the Grand Canyon?
Head out early morning or near sunset when the big crowds thin out, especially at popular spots like Mather Point and Bright Angel Point. Try hiking the quieter South Kaibab Trail or book a private guide. The North Rim is much less busy - it's 220 miles from the South Rim and gets only 10% of visitors. A TourRadar traveler suggests: "Taking the early morning Hermit Trail hike gave us beautiful solitude - we barely saw anyone else for hours." Desert View Drive has lots of quiet pull-offs perfect for taking in the view together.
What are the best photo spots for couples at the Grand Canyon?
Catch the first light at Yavapai Point, or head to Hopi Point or Mohave Point for spectacular sunset shots. The Desert View Watchtower, 25 miles east of the main village, makes a great backdrop for couple photos with its unique architecture. As one TourRadar traveler notes: "The light at sunrise at Yavapai Point created perfect silhouette opportunities for romantic photos." You can also book a photo guide ($150-300 USD per couple) who'll show you hidden spots along the rim.
What's a good budget for a romantic Grand Canyon trip?
For 3-4 special days here, plan on $2,000-3,000 USD total. This covers staying at nice places like El Tovar Hotel ($250-400 USD nightly), taking guided tours ($200-600 USD each), and eating well ($75-150 USD daily for two). One TourRadar traveler mentions: "Spending extra on the helicopter tour ($300 USD per person) and private guide was worth every penny for our special trip." Add extras like private jeep tours ($150-200 USD) or scenic flights ($200-400 USD per person) if you want to make it extra special.
