What people love about touring Tanzania solo
- Simba Classic Adventure Safari **Sustainable Approach to Travel
My family is absolutely grateful to Patrick our Reservations Specialist for helping us create an amazing itinerary and Shabaan our guide for a phenomenal safari experience in the parks. Shabaan is an excellent driver who handled the Landcruiser very well even in tricky situations, but even a better guide with the eyes of a hawk able to spot wildlife where we could not. Being with him was fun and awesome, he shared experiences from his past trips, habits of the animals we encountered including birds and culture of the local communities we visited. We were able to experience the amazing beauty of Tanzania thanks to Shabaan. I recommend
- 9 Days The Great Wildebeest Migration Calving Safari
I was not attracted by such trip, but my friends were pushing me to join a trip in Tanzania. Actually it has been the most beautiful trip we never made. Serengeti, but also Ngorongoro around Ndutu areas are simply magic and it is an unforgettable experience for us as professional photographers. It is important to have a good organization behind. We had the safari organized by Steppe Dogs Adventures in Arusha, and they were simply great. As great was actually Donath, our nice and kind guide/driver. Go there, enjoy Serengeti and its nature and you will never forget such fantastic moments you will surely have. I highly recommend everyone who want to go for safari in Tanzania to choose this tour company. It was a big deal for us as a photographers, we stay 3 in one vehicle. Hakuna matata
- 6 Day Machame Route | Kilimanjaro Climbing
My 3 brothers and I recently did six days private Machame route Kilimanjaro trek with Migration Venture Africa and we have no regrets for choosing to go with them as they made our dream of conquering Kilimanjaro finally come true. We are very happy with the support from the professional crew of guides, porters and cook under the able stewardship of main guides Nicholas, Vitalis and Epa. They supported us in all areas (quality equipment, excellent food, close monitoring of our health & great company) ensuring that we were safe till the 12th Jan 2020 when we made it to Uhuru Peak – the summit of Kilimanjaro. Kilimanjaro is off our bucket list and we could not have achieved the stripes without the support and care of this brilliant crew. Do no hesitate to book with Migration Venture Africa, they are a great outfit
What our customers ask about Tanzania Tours for Solo Travelers
What's the typical group size for Tanzania tours suitable for solo travelers?
Tanzania tours keep groups small and manageable usually between 6 to 12 people. The Northern Circuit safari tours maintain a strict limit of 6 travelers per vehicle which gives everyone a clear view of wildlife. For those interested in climbing Kilimanjaro via the Lemosho Route groups usually include 8 to 10 climbers plus guides and porters. This size makes it easy to get to know your fellow travelers.
How experienced are the guides with solo travelers?
Tour guides in Tanzania come with extensive training in managing group dynamics and working with solo travelers. They're fluent in several languages including English German French and Spanish. A TourRadar traveler shared: "Our guide Maxwell turned our safari into an exciting odyssey through Tarangire Serengeti parks and Ngorongoro Crater. He was knowledgeable about all the animals and helped us communicate with the Maasai people."
What are the typical costs of single supplements on Tanzania safari tours?
Single room charges in Tanzania cost between 200 to 400 USD varying by accommodation quality. Some places like Serena Safari Lodge and Kibo Palace Hotel have rooms designed for solo guests. Several operators including Almighty Kilimanjaro don't charge extra for single tents. As one traveler noted on TourRadar: "I had my own spacious tent throughout the trek with no additional charges."
How are meal arrangements handled for solo travelers?
Group dining is standard practice in Tanzania creating natural opportunities to meet other travelers. At Millennium Camp on Kilimanjaro everyone eats together in a shared tent while places like Lake Burunge Tented Lodge set up group dining experiences. The kitchens adapt well to different dietary needs. One TourRadar review noted "the cook prepared excellent vegetarian options throughout the trek."
Which areas of Tanzania are most welcoming for solo travelers?
Tanzania's Northern Circuit especially around Arusha and Moshi offers a welcoming environment for solo travelers. Places like Serengeti Wild Camps and Highview Hotel in Karatu feature social spaces where travelers naturally gather. A TourRadar guest noted: "The staff at the camps/lodges was exceptional. They treated us like royalty attending to our every need." The village of Mto wa Mbu gives visitors chances to connect with locals through activities like banana beer tasting and cooking classes.
What kind of accommodations can solo travelers expect on Tanzania tours?
The best times to visit are June through October and December through March. During these months the weather suits outdoor activities and wildlife viewing is at its peak in places like the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater. These busy seasons bring more travelers making social connections easier. A TourRadar visitor who went in July shared: "The weather was perfect while we were there and we saw all the Big 5 plus incredible migration scenes."
