7 Day Scandinavia Itinerary, incl. Stockholm and Copenhagen
A 7-day Scandinavian adventure features 3 nights each at Stockholm's Scandic No 53 and Copenhagen's Mayfair Hotel. The itinerary includes Stockholm's Vasa Museum and Royal Palace, plus Copenhagen's Nyhavn and Tivoli Gardens, complemented by English-guided tours.

- Day 1
Stockholm Arrival & Gamla Stan
Take the 20-minute Arlanda Express train from Stockholm Arlanda Airport to the city center. Most hotels near Sergels Torg start check-in at 2 PM but will store your luggage. Spend your afternoon walking through Gamla Stan, Stockholm's medieval old town. Be sure to wear shoes with good grip as the cobblestones can get slippery in wet weather.

- Day 2
Stockholm Sightseeing
Start your day with a hop-on-hop-off bus tour to get your bearings. Visit the Vasa Museum right when it opens at 10 AM to beat the crowds and see this incredibly preserved 17th-century warship. Watch the changing of the guard at the Royal Palace at 12:15 PM. The Wednesday and Saturday ceremonies are more extensive. Spend your afternoon walking through Södermalm, Stockholm's trendy southern island full of indie boutiques and cafes.

- Day 3
Stockholm at Leisure
Use Stockholm's public boats to explore the archipelago. A 3-hour boat trip to Vaxholm fortress gives you a great introduction to the island landscape. Back in the city, visit the open-air Skansen museum in the late afternoon when local families are out and you can watch traditional craft demonstrations.

- Day 4
Train to Copenhagen
Board the morning high-speed train from Stockholm Central to Copenhagen. The 5.5-hour journey includes good wifi and a cafe car, but pack some snacks since Swedish train food is expensive. From Copenhagen Central Station, you can walk to the historic Vesterbro neighborhood. Take an evening walk along Nyhavn canal but avoid the tourist restaurants there. Better dining options are a few blocks away.

- Day 5
Copenhagen City Tour
Visit the Little Mermaid statue before 9 AM to avoid tour groups. Check out Christiansborg Palace and climb its tower for free city views. Spend your afternoon in the Meatpacking District, Copenhagen's creative center. A TourRadar traveler suggests: "Rent bikes from the hotel - Copenhagen's bike lanes are wide and well-marked, making it the easiest way to see the city like a local."

- Day 6
Copenhagen Exploration
Book tickets online for morning entry to Rosenborg Castle to see the Crown Jewels without waiting in line. Take a canal tour from Nyhavn for new views of the city. Visit the free-spirited Christiania neighborhood but remember photos aren't allowed. End your day at Tivoli Gardens around 4 PM to enjoy both daytime activities and evening lights.

- Day 7
Copenhagen Departure
6 Days in Scandinavia, incl. Oslo and Copenhagen
Stunning cities of Denmark and Sweden unfold over 6 days. Highlights include Stockholm's Gamla Stan, Kronborg Castle, and Copenhagen's Nyhavn. Tours, quality accommodations, and breakfast buffets are included for around $800 total.

- Day 1
Oslo
Start your Scandinavian adventure in Norway's capital. The Flytoget express train gets you from Oslo Airport to the city center in just 20 minutes. The area around Karl Johans Gate is easy to walk and great for getting your bearings. If you plan to visit multiple museums, getting an Oslo Pass will save you money on transport and entry fees.

- Day 2
Oslo to Stockholm
Take a morning city tour of Oslo. Pack some layers since Norwegian mornings can be cold even in summer. The journey to Stockholm takes 6-7 hours, with a stop in Örebro. This Swedish town makes a perfect lunch break. Try the local black pudding at one of the cafés near the castle. From there it's about 2 hours through Sweden's lake country to Stockholm.

- Day 3
Stockholm
Get to Gamla Stan (Old Town) early to beat the crowds. A morning tour will take you through winding cobblestone streets. Want great photos? Head to Fjällgatan viewpoint between 9-10 AM when the sunlight makes the colorful buildings look their best. Plan your afternoon around the Vasa Museum. As one visitor said: "Get there by 2 PM when guided tours in English start. The preserved warship is incredible, but you'll want the detailed explanation to fully appreciate it."

- Day 4
Stockholm to Copenhagen
You'll spend today traveling south through Sweden. The ferry from Helsingborg to Helsingør takes about 20 minutes. Go to the upper deck for views of Kronborg Castle (the setting for Hamlet). Bring snacks since food at ferry terminals is expensive and options are limited. You'll reach Copenhagen with enough time to walk around the beautiful Nyhavn district in the evening.

- Day 5
Copenhagen
Copenhagen is a cyclist's dream with flat streets and great bike lanes. Take a morning city tour, then spend the afternoon exploring like locals do. Rent a bike to check out the trendy Vesterbro area or take a boat tour from Nyhavn. Skip the tourist restaurants on the main harbor and eat at Torvehallerne food halls instead. The food is better and more authentic.

- Day 6
Copenhagen
6 Days in Scandinavia, incl. Oslo and Copenhagen
This 6-day Nordic journey connects Stockholm's 14 islands, Helsingborg's coastal charm, and Copenhagen's historic center. Guests stay at Quality Hotel Globe Stockholm and Scandic Sydhavnen Copenhagen, with guided tours and ferry crossings included.

- Day 1
Oslo, Norway
Arrive in Oslo by afternoon for hotel check-in at 2 PM. Spend your first day exploring the harborfront or visit the Opera House, where you can climb the sloped roof for free views of the city. If you plan to visit several museums, get an Oslo Pass. It includes public transport and entrance to most major attractions.

- Day 2
Oslo to Stockholm
Take a morning city tour of Oslo to see its modern architecture and outdoor sculptures. Visit Vigeland Sculpture Park early for the best morning photos. After lunch, start your 6-7 hour journey to Sweden with a stop in Örebro. Pack snacks and entertainment for the drive. You will reach Stockholm in time to watch the sunset over the archipelago.

- Day 3
Stockholm
Take a full day to explore Stockholm's 14 islands. Visit Gamla Stan (Old Town) before 10 AM to avoid the crowds in its narrow cobblestone streets. Visit the Nobel Museum and Royal Palace. Get your best photos from Fjällgatan viewpoint in late afternoon. Make time for the Vasa Museum to see its incredible 17th-century warship. If it rains, explore Stockholm's metro stations. They double as art galleries and are worth seeing.

- Day 4
Stockholm to Copenhagen
Leave in the morning for your journey south through Sweden. Take the 20-minute ferry from Helsingborg to Helsingør. Stop at Kronborg Castle in Helsingør, which inspired Shakespeare's Hamlet. You will reach Copenhagen by evening. During busy times, you might stay in nearby Malmö, which connects to Copenhagen via the Øresund Bridge.

- Day 5
Copenhagen
Start with a morning tour to get your bearings. Visit the Little Mermaid statue early to avoid crowds, then see the colorful Nyhavn waterfront and Christiansborg Palace. Spend your afternoon biking around this cycle-friendly city. Visit Tivoli Gardens in the evening, especially nice from April to September when days are longer.

- Day 6
Copenhagen Departure
Hotels usually require check-out by 10 AM but will store your luggage for later flights. Browse the shops on Strøget, Europe's longest pedestrian shopping street, or visit the free-living community of Christiania. If you are flying from Copenhagen Airport, take the direct train from Central Station. It needs at least 45 minutes.
