  • Days 1-2

    Punta Arenas

    Start your journey in this Patagonian gateway city. The King Penguin Nature Reserve in Useless Bay lets you watch these incredible birds from viewing areas about 50 meters away. Bring plenty of warm clothing. The Patagonian winds can get pretty intense, even during summer months.

    
  • Days 3-6

    Puerto Natales & Torres del Paine

    Take a 3-hour bus to Puerto Natales to explore Torres del Paine National Park. You'll find hiking options for every skill level, from simple day walks to longer circuits. Summer gives you 17 hours of daylight for exploring. The Grey Glacier boat trip is a must - you'll spend 3 hours sailing past beautiful icebergs.

    
  • Days 7-11

    Coyhaique Region

    Fly to Coyhaique for northern Patagonia. Visit the stunning marble caves at General Carrera Lake early in the morning for the best photos. The hanging glacier at Queulat National Park is another highlight. Good hiking boots are essential since the trails can get slippery.

    
  • Days 12-17

    Puerto Varas & Lake District

    Puerto Varas is perfect for exploring the Lake District. Take time to visit Frutillar, a lovely town with strong German influences on Lake Llanquihue. The Osorno Volcano and Petrohué Falls tour shows off classic Andean scenery. One visitor shared: "The German Colonial Museum in Frutillar offered fascinating insights into the region's heritage - but note it's closed Mondays."

    
  • Days 18-22

    San Pedro de Atacama

    Head north to the Atacama Desert. The Moon Valley tour shows off some incredible landscapes. The Tatio Geysers tour starts very early at 4 AM but offers amazing sunrise views. Pack for all weather. Temperatures can range from -2°C to 24.5°C in one day.

    Santiago & Surrounds

    End your trip in Santiago. The hop-on-hop-off bus is good for seeing main attractions like Plaza de Armas and the Bellavista area. Consider visiting the coastal cities of Valparaíso and Viña del Mar. Stay in Providencia for easy access to good restaurants and shops.
