The hotel was away from the main plazas and trams were not available nearby so Uber was the system to get around. Local walking guide Tom was wonderful! Very knowledgeable and personable. The trip to Neuschwanstein Castle was by train, bus and shuttle. Plan for long waits. The castle and guide were fantastic. Unbelievable wonderous place. Highly recommended. Salzburg is more than a day trip and a few hours is not enough with round trip makes it a long day. Try the Seehaus Restaurant in Munich. Very elegant on the lake with 5 star food!

What our customers ask about Private Tours & Trips in Germany
When is the best time to take a Private tour in Germany?
Germany's Private tours shine from May through September with mild temperatures and long daylight hours. The summer months of July and August draw the largest crowds especially in Bavaria and the Alps where places like Hotel Seeblick by Lake Chiemsee fill quickly. While summer brings higher prices the conditions are ideal for outdoor activities. One TourRadar traveler noted: "The weather was perfect for exploring both cities and countryside with comfortable temperatures for walking tours in Berlin and boat rides on Lake Chiemsee."
What are the most popular destinations included in German Private tours?
German Private tours concentrate on three key areas: the southern region of Bavaria with Munich Neuschwanstein Castle and Lake Chiemsee; Berlin's historic center featuring the Brandenburg Gate and Checkpoint Charlie; and the Rhine Valley encompassing Frankfurt and Cologne. Quality hotels like NH Collection München Bavaria and Hotel Baseler Hof in Hamburg serve as comfortable bases. A TourRadar traveler notes: "The combination of Berlin's history Bavaria's castles and the Rhine Valley's scenery made for an incredible journey."
What type of accommodation can I expect on a Private tour in Germany?
The accommodations on German Private tours center around 3-4 star properties positioned in prime city locations or scenic spots. Hotels like the Hamburger Hof in Frankfurt Holiday Inn Express Berlin City Centre and Hotel Jedermann in Munich offer strategic bases for exploration. Each property is selected for its location and comfort level. One TourRadar traveler notes: "The hotels were well-located and comfortable though we would recommend upgrading the two 3-star hotels to 4-star properties for an even better experience."
What's included in the meal arrangements for Private tours?
German Private tours typically cover daily hotel breakfasts where guests can start their day with both traditional Bavarian fare and standard continental selections. The Schlosshotel Petry in Treis-Karden serves regional specialties alongside fresh breads. Lunch and dinner remain flexible allowing travelers to discover local eateries independently. A TourRadar traveler shares: "Having breakfast included but freedom to choose other meals let us experience authentic German cuisine at our own pace - the local wine taverns along the Moselle were particular highlights."
How physically demanding are Private tours in Germany?
The physical requirements of German Private tours vary significantly. City explorations in Munich and Berlin involve gentle walking while Bavaria's hiking tours and Moselsteig Trail adventures require more stamina with 4-6 hour daily walks and elevation changes of 500-700m. Moselle Valley routes typically cover 15-24km daily with public transport options available to modify distances. A TourRadar traveler reports: "The hiking was well-paced with plenty of breaks at scenic viewpoints and charming villages - definitely manageable for anyone with reasonable fitness."
