It was a spectacular trip. Everything we could have hoped for and more. Unfortunately, the major let down was the other people on the trip. Could not recommend this trip or our tour guide more, it's worth every penny! (and to people who are complaining about 'hidden costs,' they're clearly stated before you even book your trip so inform yourself and then try and save the extra money because every optional activity makes the trip 10x better, you're only in Europe once and you want to leave with #noregrets remember!!!

My tour manager was Anne-Elyse Gauthier and she was below average. She was very pushy and disrespectful. She was sometimes late for the morning pick up times because she had a hang over. Anne-Elyse was very crazy about the review surveys; she will tell you to put 5 star for her and if you put 3 or 4 stars that's not good enough. The survey suppose to be private; however, she will look at your survey in front of you. She was a bully when it came to the survey time. I couldn't write honest feedbacks because she will check and confront you. She is the worst tour manager on the planet!

Everything has been great from travelling by coach, which I love, to visiting new cities, nights out, meeting new people. I miss it so much already, you really feel like you're having the time of your life. My guide was Anne - Elyse and I've got nothing but good things to say about her. Very knowledgeable and professional but at the same time super fun. We had some good time together. She also will always be there for you, anything you need.

AE was a fun, bubbly trip mananger who you could share jokes and banter with and made everything brilliant. This was also made possible by our bus driver Barry. Her knowledge of everywhere we went was very insightful. Contiki as a whole made my trip to Europe something I'll treasure for the rest of my life. I would recommend it to anyone, and if I could, for my next contiki I would choose AE everytime. xo

The trip was everything l expected and more, \ being a small town kid from Australia as well as my two mates Europe was a huge eye opener, in the 18 days we were on tour its unbelivable the things we …The trip was everything l expected and more, \ being a small town kid from Australia as well as my two mates Europe was a huge eye opener, in the 18 days we were on tour its unbelivable the things we done and seen, however l would have to give all the credit to our guide, Analise. the knowledge, enthusiam, energy, fun and compassion she gave on the tour truly did make the trip, from caring to us when were hungover or showing us the best downtown pizza in Rome is, the crazy underground bar in Prague to taking us paragliding in Austria she made the trip what it was, without her l can't imagine what we would of missed out on the trip. And once the trip was finished she continued to share her knowledge and advice on where to go, travel and best ways and what to see in other parts of Europe, which again we would of been a deer in the headlights without her.

Whilst I loved the tour overall, especially the transportation and cities and sights, I did have some issues. Firstly I found the accomodation bellow par, but that was to be expected for a cheap hoste…Whilst I loved the tour overall, especially the transportation and cities and sights, I did have some issues. Firstly I found the accomodation bellow par, but that was to be expected for a cheap hostel tour and thus wasn't a huge problem. But several people on our tour did get bedbugs from multiple places, so the cleanliness at the least needs to be improved. As for Anne-elyse, I found her to be fairly well organised, well informed and enthusiastic enough. However, I did find her to be very pushy and this was highly unappealing and made me uncomfortable at times. She was very pushy trying to get everyone to do every single optional acitivity - something that not everyone wants to or can afford to do! And made people feel bad for not doing so. She was also very very pushy about review. When we gave our reviews at the end of the trip she essentially bullied people to leave 5 star glowing reviews or to not write anything at all. She tried to intimidate people into not leaving honest or thoughtful reviews about what they actually thought - which might have included constructive criticism or some real negative feedback that would be useful for contiki to use to improve their company. Even this review that I am writing now - she pressured everyone to only say absolutely super positive things otherwise to not leave one at all. This isn't honest and she made people feel bad for having potentially negative opinions that they maybe wanted to share. This isn't to be a personal attack on her. I do think she does a good job and can run a tour effective. However I think it needs to be said that people should be encouraged to leave honest feedback - not pressured to just fake 5 stars so a tour guide can get a promotion. However, I wish to note that overall I did have a great experience with contiki.

She was helpful in preparing us for when we were getting to a new country, had only the best recommendations, made sure that we stayed safe at all times, and if something ever came up I knew she was always available for help.
I am so incredibly grateful to have had the chance to meet her through this experience and I would 10/10 recommend her to anyone interested in going on a tour with Contiki.

My trip managers name was Anne-Elyse and my trip would not have been the same without her.
Anne-Elyse is a knowledgeable, organised and personable woman who makes everyone feel welcome in a matter of minutes.
She is a very relatable person who shares many life experiences and her extensive knowledge of Paris was priceless, she kept everyone engaged with her talks about everything Paris and everything French and how could you ask for more than a French person who has lived in Paris for an extensive amount of time.
I learnt a lot about the city and from Anne-Elyse's recommendations I got the best experience of Paris and saw everything I wanted to see. I also got to learn a lot about the culture in Paris that I probably wouldn't have learnt without my trip manager, she knew the ins and outs of speaking to people which is an important thing to know in a non-English speaking country.
After being on three Contiki tours if I could ask for every person to experience one trip manager, it would be Anne-Elyse.
Her stories are so great that I never wanted to leave a night out because I was worried I would miss out on some of the amazing life experiences she has had. Anne-Elyse has a way with words that is vital to being a successful trip manager, I hope that you are aware of what an incredible and valuable member of staff you have.

Anne-Elyse is from France and had lived in Paris for a number of years. This of course meant she had loads of first hand experience to draw on and obviously made the trip all the more authentic.
She is passionate, driven and committed to Paris, her country and her job more generally. She ensures everyone is ok and having a good time ALL the time, it's so important to her.
She's very easy to get along with. She has a great sense of humour, her English is excellent and she's an overall really cool person who clearly loves what she's doing very much.
I truly believe this would be the case with Anne-Elyse regardless of which trip you take. Thank you for making the trip for me.

Anne-Elyce was the most welcoming tour manager I could have imagined.
She instantly made me feel at home in the group.
The entire trip she made everyone feel like part of a family. Everything was organised well and ran smoothly and Anne-Elyce made sure everyone knew the itinerary for each city.
Despite being sick, she met everyone with a cheerful smile each morning and kept this up each day.
Had it not been for Anne-Elyce's humour, passion and decication to the group, I'm not sure I would have had such a fantastic trip

Anne-Elyse was our guide for a contiki European highlights tour in 2016. We had an amazing time, and visited some amazing places. Anne-Elyse was excellent as a tour guide, professional, organized and fun. Looking after over 50 people on a trip must be difficult, but Anne-Elyse handled everything like a pro. She was able to connect properly with everyone on her trip, myself included, and I had no doubt she took great enjoyment making sure everyone on the tour was having as much fun as possible. There is also something to be said for her local knowledge. Being from France her knowledge of both her own country and its European neighbors is excellent, and is tremendous asset. She was able to recommend great things to do and see on the trip, destinations for possible future trips and give us interesting information about the pasts and presents of the various countries we visited.
I would recommend her as a tour guide to anyone.

She kept the spirit in the coach up when we were stuck on there for long days and she was the best at giving information on every location we visited. Anne-Elyse also went out her way to make sure when someone was feeling down or unwell that they were treated amazingly by the rest of the people there and she always checked up on you. If I went on a contiki again I can't really imagine that any other tour manager could compare to the compassion, effort and organisation skills that Anne-Elyse puts into her work everyday. I became sick when I got home from the trip and she still messaged me to check I was good, which she doesn't need to do but she becomes a friend as well as a tour manager. Thanks for everything babe!

Both Anne-Elyse and Balazc were really dedicated to there jobs and you can tell they love doing what they do. Not only did they Anne-Elyse tell us about the city we were visiting, she was very knowledgable about the things we should go check out, places to dine or grab a great coffee at. Hands down would do a Contiki again and am so grateful I went on this tour. Couldn't have asked to have had a better time!!!

European Escapade was the best time of my life. I saw so many beautiful sights and had so many incredible experiences that I went home having no regrets. Having Anne-Elyse as a tour guide was one of the reasons that I loved my trip as much as I did. She brought everyone together and made us all feel like one big family. She looked after us and ensured that we were having fun and did so much work to take care of everything behind the scenes. She had so many stories to share and knew so much information about the places we went. In Barcelona and Amsterdam she took us to these little bars, she knew where the best food was and especially in France and Paris she made us feel like we were locals. Met so many amazing people on my trip and would definitely recommend a contiki, especially with Anne-Elyse!

I had the most amazing experience of my life and met some people who I know will be my lifelong friends. The places we got to explore were nothing short of incredible - that "am I actually looking at this right now?!" feeling is unbeatable. Our tour guide, Anne-Elyse was the coolest chick ever! (Seriously though). She had hundreds of stories to tell with a passion for travel so obvious that it practically oozed from her every time she opened her mouth. Anne-Elyse knew about every cool little bar that you would never have known to visit, where you should go for the yummiest food in town and the historical aspects of every country we visited. There was never a dull moment when she was around, whether it be listening to her stories on the bus or having a dance with her! I will never forget the memories I made on this tour and I have absolutely no regrets. For anyone trying to decide whether to pick Contiki for their holiday - what are you waiting for?! I can honestly say it was the best experience of my life so far!! Not only was the trip itself amazing seeing everything from the beautiful old cities rich in culture to the gorgeous natural wonders of Europe! But the people I meet on this trip have become life friends of mine! Anne-Elyse our TM especially! I was only newly 18 when I went on my tour and pretty new to travelling, but Anne-Elyse was much (cool) mum away from home, always looking after all of us and actually properly caring what happens to us made her well respected and loved by all on the tour! Im seeing her again soon when she finishes her next trip and am super excited!! All in all it was a life changing trip and I truly wouldnt change a thing!!!
