It’s important to give an honest review to help future travelers make informed decisions.
Egypt—and especially the pyramids—was a must-visit destination for me, and I’m glad I booked this tour. All the guides and the driver were super friendly and helpful. For me, having such kind and helpful staff was a big bonus.
One moment that stood out: when it was time to send me off to the airport, the driver actually got out of the car to make sure I was at the correct terminal before leaving. That kind of attention shows how much they care about avoiding any miscommunication. Awesome!
As with most tours, minor issues did occur, but the guides handled them professionally. Overall, I had a good experience. Would I travel with this Egypt tour operator again? Yes.
⭐ TourRadar Review – Caution Advised (1 Star)
This rating is for TourRadar as a booking platform, not the tour itself.
TourRadar acts as a middleman between travelers and local operators. When everything goes well, it’s fine. But if something goes wrong, you’re mostly left to deal with it on your own.
I’ve completed four tours through TourRadar. Three were okay. But my Sri Lanka tour with Mango Vacations was a disaster.
For weeks, the operator didn’t respond to my questions about pickup arrangements. Then, just one week before departure, they finally replied—saying the tour couldn’t go ahead. They offered a last-minute change to the itinerary or cancellation. At that point, I had already booked non-refundable flights.
It felt like a textbook bait-and-switch tactic—intentional or not. Mango Vacations advertises 17 different tours as having daily departures, which raises serious doubts about whether they even have the capacity to deliver what they promise.
If you’re a non-EU traveler or based in a country where TourRadar has no local presence, you have little to no consumer protection. In such cases, it might be better to have a local travel agent contact the tour operator directly—so you’re protected under your local consumer rights if something unfair happens.
Booking through TourRadar is a gamble. If it works, great. But if it doesn’t, TourRadar won’t take responsibility—they’ll expect you to deal directly with the operator, even if the problem was avoidable or systemic.

Dennoch wäre etwas mehr Transparenz ganz gut, um zu wissen wann man wo zu sein hat. Man bucht schließlich über eine Organisation, um sich um weniger kümmern zu müssen und mussten trotzdem ständig nachfragen und den Informationen hinterherrennen, was die Reise am Ende ziemlich anstrengend gemacht hat. Immerhin bekommt man schnell eine Antwort auf seine Fragen und die zuständige Mitarbeiterin war sehr nett. Zusätzlich kam es teilweise zu Abweichungen und Unstimmigkeiten mit dem Plan. Man wird teils zu Läden gebracht, ohne gefragt zu werden, ob man dort hin möchte und dort wird dann erwartet, dass man etwas kauft, was ziemlich unangenehm war.

The boat accommodation and customer service was of a high standard too. We were a little disappointed with the food as it was largely the same buffet every day and not as flavoursome as we had expected, but plenty of choice. We loved the cruising down the nile and would have preferred more of that than sitting docked - usually between other boats so no view - with unpleasant fumes. We were keen to see the lock too, but it was timed that we went through it at 4 am!

The guide's knowledge was below average, provided bare minimum information which one can find in the sites as well. Plus at different sites and museums she overcharged for every ticket price and took as much as 40% additional commission for herself.
The tour was good. I had lots of fun and learnt a lot. My tour guide Dina was very good. She was very knowledgeable, kind, patient and did a fantastic job as a guide. The tour is flexible enough with some options. The itinerary covers all major tourist sites. One driver who was supposed to pick us up from airport didn't show up, we had to get a taxi after waiting…The tour is flexible enough with some options. The itinerary covers all major tourist sites. We still didn't get a refund for the taxi ride even though they promised to reimburse us it.
