For the tour guide himself, Tjay... where to start. For being his first tour I was a little apprehensive, however all I can say is I have been on four previous tours with G adventure and no tour guide nearly parralleled Tjay. Even though he was our guide he was more like a mate as he quickly broke down any borders between tour guide and client in a good way. He will turn out to be an exceptional asset to One Life Adventure and a main pulling point as to why I will be returning to do another One Life Adventure tour. The family that is being built up by One Life at the moment is brilliant having met Jack, Becca and Mikey, something that may encourage me in the future to join the family.

Although there was some issues with the current circumstances, our tour guide TJay was fantastic at keeping everyone calm and having a good time even though anxiety was high. We visited so many places, it felt like a lot longer than 10 days. Temple stay was definitely a highlight!
Would highly recommend this tour, and TJay as a tour guide!
I enjoyed the tour allot, we went to bountiful places and did lots of aktives. I highly recommend the tour.

From kayaking into the old town of Hoi An, the cooking class in Hue, trekking through the Vietnamese jungle, to the overnight cruise around Halong bay - we’ve made memories to last a lifetime. Without our tour guide, we wouldn’t have experienced the authentic local food and drink spots, ie the real Vietnam!
Our tour guide, Hoa, couldn’t have done more for us, very organised, professional and extremely fun! Overall, the tour exceeded our expectations.
Thank you for showing us your beautiful country Hoa!

My highlights of the tour were trying new foods in the many towns, learning Kendo in the Kendo workshop, and archery during our free time in one of the many cities we visited!

Met some incredible people, got to know them and really enjoyed their company; did plenty of talking, laughing (and singing) and then laughing again.
Saw and did so much; from the bright neon glamor night life of new Japan to the far more serene and subdue old Japan; both sides beautiful and exciting for their own unique reasons.
The food was exquisite, the culture was brilliant and our guides were both fun, easy going, and knowledgeable; they know what they are doing and will quickly rid you of any travel anxiety you may have.
Do yourself a favor; bring a decent travel backpack and good shoes, this is a very on the move trek and navigating the often crowded Japanese transit system (subway, bus, cable car, train, trolly and shinkansen) can be difficult enough without having to drag your rolling luggage up every mountainous set of stairs.
My number one highlight was personal; I got engaged on this trip, and while obviously not a direct part of the One Life package, the trip handed out more than enough beautiful vistas, picturesque settings and wonderful moments!
The bamboo forest was magical, eating yakitori and drinking beer in the packed little alleyway filled with innumerable stops was a blast and anyone still considering this trip should simply get up off their ass and go; I promise you won't regret it!

Our group was amazing, where even as a solo traveling introvert, I was always welcomed by any sub group when exploring the sites on our free times. Both our tour guides were fun, and would alwas help you out. While we did see many interesting spots and ate a lot of tasty local food, we did a lot every day from morning to night with a lot of walking, which was a bit too much for me as someone that likes a slower pace and is not used to walking that much, but it was worth it in my opinion to see and experience so much. You could skip however the group events if you wanted to and explore on your own. For the backpack it would be easier to pack for only a few days, for there are a lot of washing machines and we did change hostels every couple of days, where too havy luggage was tedious to cary on trains and subway. Summarized, it was an amazing and fast paced experience of Japan, its culture, and people, where we did not have to worry much about anything, which did thoroughly enjoy.
It’s great introduction to Japan country, culture, cities, way of living and food :)

So next time you can come solo and explore on your own. The pace is quite intense, but you cab see and experience so much in 14 days.
Guide TJay was awesome, energetic foodie, with enormous lists of what to do and where to get really good local food. We had so much fun as a group also with another guide Mike, who joined us for the last 4 days.
Our highlight was Kyoto, the city, the kimono and Kendo experience, plus the autumn festival of lights. Also staying at temple was also an interesting experience.

It is fast paced so be prepared for some early starts, long days, and lots of walking. BUT the upside of that is that you get to experience so much of Japan within the 14 days, without feeling rushed. There is a perfect balance of structure and free time, and the flexibility to spend more time on the activities that interest you.
Value for money of the tour was excellent with a lot of included activities and meals.
Our group was awesome, and it was so much fun travelling with all of them. Both of our guides (TJay and Mike) were fantastic and did a great job of bringing everyone together and making the trip amazing. I had some personal difficulties during the trip and both were really supportive and kind.
My only suggestion would be to give people a heads up that the Kendo activity might be triggering if you have PTSD or a history of assault or abuse. I learned this the hard way during the lesson, and it wasn’t a good experience for myself, the guide, or the instructor.
Food - all of it!
Sushi making class
Hiroshima Peace Park and Museum

It’s definitely fast paced so you get to see a lot but don’t necessarily get to spend a lot of time in each spot. It’s a nice mix of time spent in the busy cities and quiet mountains.
The group dinners were so much fun!
The tea ceremony and kimono rental was a really cool experience and Kyoto in general was incredible.

An amazing tour that includes a wide spectrum of what Japan has to offer!
Definitely have a better understanding of how to travel around Japan and what to look for.

These ranged from karaoke to visiting a variety of temples throughout trip. I was fortunate enough to meet five of the tour guides employed by one life. All of the tour guides were incredibly welcoming and enthusiastic about their work. Two of which took care of the group along the way, Mikey and TJay. TJay had the group for the first 10 days. He was punctual, full of facts but also willing to learn when he didn’t know. Mikey had us for the final 4 days. He was really relaxed and super organised.
The top 5 places/experiences throughout the trip were The sushi making class, The boat trip, todai-ji (the great Buddha hall), Miyajimacho island and Osaka castle. Those were my personal favourites, but the whole trip was really well thought out and i did enjoy it all.
Do it! You get to experience Japan to the fullest, with a fun group of travellers and an enthusiastic and knowledgeable tour guide.
Seeing temples, Mount Fugi and Fushimi-Inari Shrine.

If you want family for 2 weeks of your life while exploring the most mind blowing country, filling in as much as you can, these guys have got you covered. Our tour guides were truly amazing. Foody TJay, is super friendly and informative while chilled Mikey even accompanied us up a mountain on an impromptu hike. They went above and beyond especially given the ever changing situation with coronavirus, they kept us calm and helped us with everything we needed. I cannot thank them enough!
One life have packed so much in, you see everything you could ever want to. My personal highlight was our first temple stay in Takayama, with amazing street food, a relaxing temple, Onsen and fantastic cocktails. Kyoto also needs to be mentioned with everything it has to offer; it was discovered with ease due to TJay and the One life itinerary. This tour is a 14 day highlight!

My group was the last tour group to run before the Coronavirus postponed all One Life Adventure tours, which can be seen as a good and bad thing considering that I eventually had to cut my trip short due to my government changing border restrictions. But despite all the conflicts and inconveniences, I definitely don't regret going! It was one of the most amazing things I've ever done, being able to explore Tokyo and see robots fighting, going to see Mt. Fuji on top of a gondola and pirate ship, staying in a Buddhist temple and experiencing morning sutra chanting, and ending my experience in Kyoto with a genuine kendo class by a descandant of the last samurai in Japanese history. It was full of amazing, worthwhile experiences, which only worked out in the end because of our amazing tour guide TJay. Not only was it his FIRST group tour, he also had to deal with the fallout and frustrations of the coronavirus situation impacting individual travellers. And yet, he did amazingly! He was truly a source of calm and peace for the group and made it feel as though nothing in the world was wrong. Personally, he comforted me as I was crying about possibly not being able to enter my country of residence, which I will always appreciate. I'd definitely recommend this tour, and this tour guide, to anyone considering One Life Adventures!
-Tokyo Robot Restaurant
-Buddhist Temple Stay
-Mount Fuji on a pirate ship

Tjay was a great guide, he seemed totally relaxed navigating us through busy streets and train stations and gave loads of helpful advice and ideas for our downtime.
All the food was amazing, TJay gave great recommendations on where to eat.

Tjay was an amazing tour guide, zen like and in control of our schedule and travel through busy areas and he had the ability to be all things to each tour member to ensure they enjoyed the experiences.
The food was a surprise, better than we could've hoped for and creating some of the dishes was an added bonus!
It was a great way to meet a lovely, warm group of friendly people and properly get to know Japan and its culture
