I had a Fab 10 days as I managed to see a lot of Bali I wouldn't have necessarily seen, especially as a solo traveller. There were loads of activities and a really great atmosphere!

I loved the surfing in Kuta and got everyone involved. The nights in Gili were hard to beat and got everyone together as a group. great way to end the tour.

I feel I have learnt so much about the culture of Indonesia and saw a great mix of places. My favourite memory was the entire trip overall but arriving in Gili T was pretty good. My favourite activity was snorkeling, it was something i had never done before and will definitely do it again. Our tour guide, Viv, made the trip. He was so welcoming and friendly but also organised and knew so much about the culture here.

The only reason I am giving this tour a 1 instead of a 3 is because TruTravels reached out to me and my friend (and possibly others on our tour) and asked me not to review the tour guide, Viv, and ins…The only reason I am giving this tour a 1 instead of a 3 is because TruTravels reached out to me and my friend (and possibly others on our tour) and asked me not to review the tour guide, Viv, and instead review the tour guide looking after him (who was better- but still not the tour guide. Our tour guide was new and that's why he had a mentor watching). Our tour guide truly made the trip terrible. He didn't care about the culture, complained about his job the entire time, and made rude comments to everyone on the trip. One girl actually got severely hurt on the tour and approached him for a first aid kit and not only did he not have it on him, but he didn't help the girl or even look out for her on the day she was injured. His lack of enthusiasm, knowledge of the country and attitude brought the group down as whole. Thankfully, the other people on the trip were awesome and that's the only thing that saved the trip. When asked to change my review, I was told that he and his boss had a discussion for future tours and that the experience the group had wouldn't happen to anyone else (BTW the entire group feels the same way - that's probably why we still haven't been contacted yet to write a review! Our trip ended April 18th). I’m glad he and his boss had a discussion, but that talk doesn’t change my experience and the value of the time I had. I’ve been on 4 other tours like this and I truly felt like this was the only tour where I didn’t receive the experience I paid for. Also, we shouldn't be asked to change our reviews as it defeats the point of providing them in the first place. Honestly, TruTravels should return my money back & the money of everyone else who felt the same way about the tour.

I would also suggest providing a variety of meals and not just breakfast considering breakfast is free with most hotels booked in Bali. The koa de surf hotel was brilliant, good location and friendly staff. Brilliant rooftop pool. Max one hotel in Ubud was not good at all. A nest of ants crawling in the bed, poor breakfast and worse than many hostels that I have stayed in. The itinerary was good and no two days were the same. I personally enjoyed the temples day and the snorkel trip on Gili T. Tour guide Viv was great and attended well to everyone’s needs. He had a lot of energy and engaged the group well. He was informative and made the tour worthwhile, nothing was too much hassle for him. The last three days on Gili T were spent well, riding the bikes around the island was real fun. The hotel could have been closer to the beach but could not fault the hotel or their staff. All in all an ok experience of Bali, however I would suggest doing it yourself as it would be a lot cheaper and u can chose your own accommodation
