  • Day 1

    Seoul to Daejeon

    Start your day early in Seoul and make your way to Gongju, the ancient Baekje Kingdom capital. Visit Magoksa Temple in the morning for a peaceful experience. "The tea ceremony with the Buddhist monk was incredibly serene, but arrive before 10 AM to avoid tour crowds." Spend your afternoon doing archery at Gongsanseong Fortress. Wear good walking shoes since the fortress involves uphill paths. It's about a 1.5-hour transfer to Daejeon for the evening.

    
  • Day 2

    Daejeon to Gwangju

    Visit Jeonju Hanok Village in the morning. Get there early to rent hanbok (traditional Korean dress) since lines grow long after 11 AM. Stop for authentic Jeonju bibimbap lunch in the village. Your afternoon visit to Tapsa Temple needs a moderate 20-minute uphill walk. Pack water and sun protection since shade is limited. From there it's a 2-hour drive to Gwangju.

    
  • Day 3

    Gwangju to Yeosu

    Get to Boseong Green Tea Plantation early to see the morning mist over the terraces. One visitor notes: "The green tea ice cream at the plantation cafe is a must-try, but they often sell out by afternoon." Visit Suncheonman Bay wetlands during golden hour for the best photos. It's just an hour to Yeosu for the night.

    
  • Day 4

    Yeosu to Busan

    Take the first Yeosu Marine Cable Car at 9 AM for the clearest views. Stop at Jinjuseong Fortress before driving 2.5 hours to Busan. The fortress needs about 2 hours to explore. Wear good shoes since the stone paths can get slippery. You'll reach Busan by late afternoon.

    
  • Day 5

    Busan to Gyeongju

    Start at Nurimaru APEC House on Dongbaekseom Island when the morning sea breeze makes for great photos. Head to historic Gyeongju next. UNESCO-listed Bulguksa Temple needs about 2 hours to see properly. Plan your Gyeongju National Museum visit knowing it closes at 6 PM (5 PM in winter). End your day with a relaxing walk around Bomun Lake.

    
  • Day 6

    Gyeongju to Pyeongchang

    Visit UNESCO-listed Andong Hahoe Village in the morning. A recent visitor advises: "The traditional houses are fascinating, but bring mosquito repellent in summer months." Try the Hanji paper-making workshop in Wonju which takes about 1.5 hours. It's a 2-hour evening drive to Pyeongchang.

    Pyeongchang to Seoul

    Start at Ski Jump Tower Observatory when the morning views are best. Take a short hike in Seoraksan National Park on the Jujeongol trail (1.5 hours round-trip). The drive back to Seoul takes about 3 hours with arrival around 6 PM.

  • Day 1

    Seoul to Gongju & Jeonju

    Leave Seoul around 8 AM to avoid traffic and visit the UNESCO-listed Gongsanseong Fortress in Gongju. "The fortress offers incredible views, but wear sturdy shoes as the stone steps can be slippery." Visit the Tomb of King Muryeong and Gongju National Museum before heading to Jeonju for the night.

    Jeonju & Gwangju Area

    Visit Jeonju's Hanok Village with its 800+ traditional Korean houses. "Wearing hanbok in the village was magical - arrive before 10 AM to avoid crowds and get better photos." Check out the historic Gyeonggijeon Shrine and stop at Baegyangsa Temple for a tea ceremony with monks. Spend the night in Gwangju, a city known for great food.

    Boseong & Busan

    Start your day at the beautiful Boseong Green Tea Plantation and try their famous green tea ice cream. "The plantation views are incredible but bring water; the uphill walk can be challenging in summer." Visit Suncheonman Bay wetlands before continuing to Busan. Note: The wetlands are closed the last Monday of each month. Visit Naksan Fortress instead.

    
  • Day 5

    Busan Exploration

    Start at the UN Memorial Cemetery and visit Jagalchi Fish Market. "The city deserves two nights - try to stay near Haeundae Beach for the best evening atmosphere." Take a ride on the Songdo Sea Cable Car for great coastal views. Book Spaland spa treatments early as spots fill up fast.

    Gyeongju Historical Sites

    Visit Bulguksa Temple early at 8:30 AM before the tour buses arrive. See the Daereungwon Tomb Complex and Gyeongju National Museum. "The Gyeongju National Museum offers amazing insights into Silla dynasty artifacts - get the audio guide." Visit Cheomseongdae Observatory at sunset for photos.

    Mountains & Return to Seoul

    Spend your morning at Mt. Seorak's Jujeongol Valley. The fall colors are beautiful but be ready for some steep paths. Plan to reach Seoul's Insadong area by 6 PM to explore this artistic neighborhood before leaving.

  • Days 1-3

    Seoul

    Begin in the capital city. Visit Myeongdong district after 6 PM when the street food scene comes alive. Get a T-money transport card at the airport to use on public transit throughout Seoul. For your DMZ visit, bring your passport and wear appropriate clothing (no ripped jeans or flip-flops). The Second Tunnel tour runs about an hour. The Cheorwon Peace Observatory gives you the best views into North Korea, but weather can affect visibility. Visit Changdeokgung Palace early at 9 AM to avoid crowds. Time your Gyeongbokgung Palace visit with the guard changing ceremony at 10 AM or 2 PM. Get to Bukchon Hanok Village before 9 AM if you want peaceful photos of the traditional houses.

    Suwon & Jeonju

    Take the one-hour train ride from Seoul to Suwon. The Hwaseong Fortress walls run 5.7km. Start at Paldalmun Gate and wear good walking shoes. In Jeonju's Hanok Village, plan to eat before 9 PM when food vendors close.

    Cultural Highlights

    See the Damyang bamboo forest in early morning light. Visit Haeinsa Temple but remember to remove shoes and keep voices low as it's an active temple. From here it's about 2 hours to Busan.

    Busan

    See Haedong Yonggungsa Temple at sunrise around 6:30 AM before tour groups arrive. Check out Jagalchi Fish Market between 5-7 AM for the morning auctions, or visit later for regular shopping. Take an evening KTX train back to Seoul but book ahead as they fill up quickly.

    Seoul

    Start your last day at Noryangjin Fish Market. It opens at 4 AM and serves fresh sashimi all morning.
